  • The thermocatalytic decomposition of methane is an environmentally attractive approach to $CO_2$-free production of hydrogen. The fluidized bed was proposed for the continuous withdraw of product carbon from the reactor. The usage of carbon black was reported as stable catalyst for decomposition of methane. Therfore, carbon black (DCC-N330) is used as catalyst. A fluidized bed reactor made of quartz with 0.055 m I.D. and 1.0 m in height was selected for the thermo-catalytic decomposition. The porpane-containg methnae decomposition reaction was operated at the temperature range of 850-900 $^{\circ}C$ methane gas velocity of 1.0 $U_{mf}$ and the operating pressure of 1.0 atm. In this work, propane was added as reactant to make methane conversion higher. Therefore we compared with methane conversion and pre-experiment methane conversion that using only methane as reactant. The carbon black, after experiment, was measured in particle size and surface area and analyzed surface of the carbon black by TEM.

  • 일반적인 CMOS공정으로는 높은 주파수 대역에서 높은 Q factor를 갖는 인덕터를 구현하는데 어렵고 이에 반해 RF ICs는 갈수록 high Q 를 가지는 인덕터가 요구되고 있다. 이를 LTCC 기판 위에 인덕터를 구현했을 때 높은 주파수 대역에서 성능을 알아보기 위해 모의 실험하였다. 인덕터를 설계하는데 있어서 인덕터 코일의 폭, 코일의 두께와 간격이 인덕터의 성능을 결정짓는다는 것을 고려하였고, MEMS 공정을 이용하여 high Q를 갖는 인덕터를 설계하였다. 인덕터의 전체 크기는 $330{\mu}m\;{\times}\;330{\mu}m$에서 선폭은 $30{\mu}m$, 선간의 간격은 $20{\mu}m$로 기판위에 $80{\mu}m$ 높이로 인덕터를 띄어서 설계하였고, 그리고 이를 LTCC 기판위에 high Q 의 인덕터 구현을 위해 simulation 한 결과가 Q값이 50 정도의 크기를 나타냈다.

  • A 15[inch] diagonal mercury-free flat discharge lamp with insulated electrode has been developed as backlight for a LCD backlighting. When the drive voltage pulse conditions were set properly, a uniform and stable discharge extends over the entire volume. It was obtained luminance of $10,330[cd/m^2]$ without prism sheet in uniform and stable discharge.

First report of Mesorhabditis microbursaris(Nematoda: Rhabditida: Mesorhabditidae) from Korea

  • Mesorhabditis microbursaris (Steiner, 1926) Sudhaus, 2011, belonging to the family Mesorhabditidae (Rhabditomorpha), is newly reported from South Korea. During a survey of small streams, M. microbursaris was isolated from sedimentary soil samples. The genus Mesorhabditis Osche, 1952 nematodes are distributed all over the world and are mostly found from terrestrial habitats, however are sometimes found in freshwater. At present, 34 valid species have been recorded from Mesorhabditis; however, only three species have been reported from South Korea. Mesorhabditis microbursaris exhibits morphological characters of other congeneric species, including shorter distance between vulva and anus than the distance between anus and tail, rudimentary bursa with narrow velum and short genital papillae, shorter spicules than tail and conical tail. However, this species can be distinguished from other Mesorhabditis species by its morphometric characters and three pairs of bursal papillae. Details of the morphological characteristics and morphometrics of M. microbursaris are described and illustrated based on optical microscopy.

Comparison study between recovered carbon black and commercial carbon black filled epoxy conductive materials

  • Waste tire management and recycling have grown to be significant issues because they bring up a global environmental concern. Thus, turning recycled waste tires into useful products may help tackle the environmental issue. This research aims to study and compare the effect of recycled carbon black (rCB) and commercial carbon black (CB) at certain 15 vol. % of filler loading on the mechanical, thermal, morphology and electrical properties of epoxy/CB composites. For this project, epoxy resin, diethyltoluenediamine (DETDA), recovered carbon black (rCB) and commercial carbon black (CB) graded N330, N550, N660 and N774 were mixed and compared accordingly to the formulation determined. The CB content was dispersed in the epoxy matrix using the mechanical mixing technique. The distribution and dispersion of CB in the epoxy matrix affect the characteristics of the conductive composites. rCB content at 15 vol% was selected at fixed content for comparison purposes due to the optimum value in electrical conductivity results. The flexural strength results followed the sequence of rCB>N774>N660>N550>N330. As for electrical conductivity results, epoxy/N330 exhibited the highest conductivity value, while the others achieved a magnitude of X10-3 due to the highest external surface area of N330. In terms of thermal stability, epoxy/N330 and epoxy/N774 were slightly more stable than epoxy/rCB.

Environmental Characteristics of Nutrients and Fluorescent Organic Hatters in the Northeast Pacific Ocean(KODOS) (북동태평양(KODOS 해역)의 영양염 및 형광 유기물에 관한 환경특성 연구)

  • To investigate characteristics of biogeochemical environment of the Korea Deep Ocean Study(KODOSI area in the northeast Pacific Ocean, we preferentially measured Inorganic nutrients and fluorescent organic matters. Typically. the permanent thermocline was well developed at the depth of 200~1000m In the study area. Nitrate. phosphate and silicate were low In the surface mixed layer and Increased with depth. N/P and N/Si showed 15 and 0.2 respectively In the deeper layer. Two fluorophores, biomacromolecule(protein-like) and geomacromolecule (humid-like) , were observed by three dimensional fluorescence excltatlon/ emission spectra matrix. Biomacromolecule(maximum fluorescence at $Ex_{280m}/Em_{330nm}$) ranged from 41.9 to 147.0 TU with its maximum In the surface mixed layer and minimum in deeper water, This is a same trend that has been reported for DOC in the equatorial Pacific. This suggests that biomacromolecule might be labile and converted to refractory humic substance after bacterial degradation In the deeper layer. On the contrary, geomacromolecule(maximum fluorescence at $Ex_{330m}/Em_{430m}$), ranged from 7.6 to 46.5 QSU, showed minimum in the surface nixed layer(euphotic zone) Implying photodegradation and then increased with depth at all stations. In the characteristics of vertical profiles, the relationship between biomacromolecule and geomacromolecule showed negative correlation. Such trend can be attributed to biochemical regeneration or formation of fluorescent materials accompanying oxidation and rennnerallzation of settling organic matter.

항암화학요법에 의하여 골수억제가 수반된 진행암 환자에서 Recombinant Human Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor(rhGM-CSF)의 용량과 효과에 관한 비교 연구

  • 항암화학요법후 가장 심각한 부작용의 하나는 중성구 감소에 의한 감염이다. 본원에서는 rhGM-CSF을 이용한 제 I상 임상연구에서 150-500$\mu$g/M$^2$/day가 biologically active dose임을 보고한 바 있다. 연자들은 연세암센터에 내원하여 진행성 악성종양으로 병리조직학적 진단을 받고 항암화학요법 시행후 골수억제가 예상되는 환자를 대상으로 GM-CSF 용량에 따른 안전성 및 독성을 검토하고 백혈구 감소증 및 감염의 예방, 치료효과를 분석하여 임상사용권장량을 결정하기위한 2상 연구덜 대상환자의 동의를 얻은후 시행하였다. 대상환자는 37명 (여 26, 남 11)이었고, 항암제는 Adriamycin, Cisplatin, VP-l6 이 주로 사용되었다. 최적임상사용권장량을 결정하기 위하여 1500$\mu\textrm{g}$/M$^2$/day을 12명, 250$\mu\textrm{g}$/M$^2$/day을 12명, 350$\mu\textrm{g}$/M$^2$/day을 13명의 환자에게 투여하였다. 첫번째 항암요법에는 rhGM-CSF을 투여하지않고 (비투여기) 두번째 항암요법에서는 항암요법후 익일부터 10일간 연속, 매일 1회 피하주사하여 (투여기), rhGM-CSF 투여기와 비투여기의 백혈구 감소중 정도의 차이를 비교하였다.

  • In this paper, High order derivative Gaussian pulse generator for DS-UWB communication satisfying the regulation of FCC was proposed and fabricated. In order to transform rectangular signal of 100Mbps to a Gaussian pulse, the fabricated Gaussian pulse generator consists of only two SRD. The output pulse had the widths of 330 psec and amplitudes of 920 mV. In addition, the designed and fabricated dual bandpass filter shows high order derivate characteristics by using micro-strip line and parallel stub to remove WLAN band. We generated the 13th Gaussian pulse restricted frequency spectrum of WLAN band more than -25dB. The pulse had pulse width of 1 nsec and amplitude of 25 mV.
