Processible polyaniline (PAM) dispersions consisting of polyaniline micro-particles, cyclohexanone, and a polymeric surfactant were prepared in a micro-milling machine with various mixing conditions. The electrochemical properties of the dispersion film coated on Pt electrode were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV). The electrochemistry of the PAM dispersion coatings was basically similar to a pure PAM coating based on the results of CV. The results of polarization measurements and open circuit potential measurements carried out in $3\;wt.\%$ NaCI solution showed increase in corrosion potential when the PANI dispersion coatings applied on steel surface. Variation of open circuit potential $(OCP,\;V_{OC})$ of the dispersion coating/steel electrodes was observed, which differed with milling conditions. The results demonstrated practical use of the conducting polymer dispersion as a coating material for corrosion prevention of steel.
Solid oxide fuel cells are clean, pollution-free technology for the electrochemical generation of electricity at high efficiency. Specially, the polarization resistance between electrolyte and electrode of SOFC unit cell is of importance, because it is desirable to develop SOFC operating at intermediate temperature below $800^{\circ}C$. The LSCF cathode prepared using modified oxalate method was investigated with different electrolyte. A precursor was prepared with oxalic acid, ethanol and $NH_4OH$ solution. The LSCF precursor was prepared at $80^{\circ}C$, and pH control was 2, 6, 8, 9 and 10. The precursor powder was calcined at $800^{\circ}C$, $1000^{\circ}C$ and $1200^{\circ}C$ for 4hrs. The crystal of LSCF powders show single phase at pH 2, 6, 8 and 9, and the average particle size was about $3{\mu}m$. The LSCF cathode with heat treatment at $1200^{\circ}C$ showed a plot of electric conductivity versus temperature. Unit cell prepared from the LSCF cathode, buffer layer between cathode and electrolyte and the LSGM, YSZ, ScSZ and CeSZ electrolyte. Also interface reaction between LSCF, buffer layer and electrolyte were measured by EPMA and the polarization resistance for unit cell with cycle measure using a Solatron 1260 analyzer.

In this paper, the effect of solution and age heat treatment to the corrosion behavior for the Ti-6Al-4V alloy were studied by cyclic polarization methods. Ti-6Al-4V was solution heat treated at $1,066^{\circ}C$ and $966^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours, and followed by age heat treated at $650^{\circ}C$, $600^{\circ}C$ and $550^{\circ}C$ with 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16 hours under vacuum environment. Test solution was 3.5% NaCl with temperature $25^{\circ}C$. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Base metal was exhibited higher electrical charge than that of solution and aged material. With decrease of solution-treatment temperature from 1066 to $966^{\circ}C$, the electrical charge was increased due to softening of micro structure. 2. The corrosion resistance of specimen that solution treated at $966^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours and age heat treated at 650, 660 and $550^{\circ}C$ were increased with increase of aging time to 4, 8 and 16 hours respectively, and then decreased. 3. In case of 316L stainless steel, measured charge and corrosion potential was 0.0627 coulomb and -614 mV respectively. Corrosion resistance of Ti-6Al-4V was higher than that of 316L.

The effects of substrate temperatures and annealing temperatures on the microstructures and ferroelectric properties of PbZ $r_{0.52}$$Ti_{0.48}$$O_3$(PZT) thin fims prepared by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) were investigated. For this purpose, the PZT films were deposited at various substrate temperatures (400~$600^{\circ}C$) with post annealing process in oxygen atmosphere. The single perovskite phase was formed at the deposition temperature of 500 to 55$0^{\circ}C$ without post annealing and the PZT films deposited below 50$0^{\circ}C$ formed the single phase with post annealing at $650^{\circ}C$. The grain size of the films increased and the grain boundary of the films was clearly defined as the substrate temperature increased from 400 to 55$0^{\circ}C$. The remnant polarization (Pr) and the coercive field (Ec) of the films deposited at 55$0^{\circ}C$ and annealed at $650^{\circ}C$ were 34.3 $\mu$C/c $m^2$and 60.2 kV/cm, respectively.y.y.

A uniform chromium-free conversion coating treated with an alkaline phosphate- permanganate solution was formed on the AZ 31 magnesium alloy. The effect of acid pickling on the morphology and on the corrosion resistance of the alkaline phosphate-permanganate conversion coating was investigated. The chemical composition and phase structure of conversion coating layer were determined via optical microscopy, SEM, EDS, XPS and XRD. Results show that the conversion coatings are relatively uniform and continuous, with thickness 1.8 to $2.4\;{\mu}m$. The alkaline phosphate-permanganate conversion coating was mainly composed of elements Mg, O, P, Al and Mn. The conversion-coated layers were stable compounds of magnesium oxide and spinel ($MgAl_2O_4$). These compounds were excellent inhibitors to corrosion. The electrochemical corrosion behaviors of coatings in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solutions were evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, potentiodynamic polarization technique. EIS results showed a polarization resistance of $0.1\;k{\Omega}$ for the untreated Mg and $16\;k{\Omega}$ for the alkaline phosphate-permanganate conversion treatment sample, giving an improvement of about 160 times. The results of the electrochemical measurements demonstrated that the corrosion resistance of the AZ 31 magnesium alloy was improved by the alkaline phosphate-permanganate conversion treatment.

PEO (plasma electrolytic oxidation) was applied to modify the surface of AZ31 magnesium alloy in this study. The mixed solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium silicate (Na2SiO3) was used as the electrolyte, and 0 - 0.05 g/L of Ca-GP (Glycerol Phosphate Calcium salt) was added in the electrolyte as an additive. PEO treatment was conducted at a current density of 30mA/cm2 for 5 minutes using a DC power supply. The surface properties were identified by SEM, XRD and surface roughness analyses, and the corrosion resistance was evaluated by potentiodynamic polarization and immersion tests. In addition, the biocompatibility was evaluated by immersion test in SBF solution. As the concentration of Ca-GP was increased, the surface morphology was denser and more uniform, and the amount of Ca and the thickness of oxide layer increased. Only Mg peak was observed in XRD analysis due to very thin oxide layer. The corrosion resistance of PEO-treated samples increased with the concentration of Ca-GP in comparision with the untreated sample. In particular, the highest corrosion resistance was identified at the group of 0.04g Ca-GP through potentiodynamic polarization and immersion tests in saline solution (0.9 wt.%NaCl). During the immersion in saline solution, pH rapidly increased at the beginning of immersion period due to rapid corrosion, and then increase rate of pH decreased. However, the pH value in the SBF temporarily increased from 7.4 to 8.5 during the day, then decreased due to the inhibition of corrosion with HA(hydroxyapatite) formation.
We present the first observational detection of radial and azimuthal oscillations in full halo coronal mass ejections (HCMEs). We analyze nine HCMEs well-observed by LASCO from Feb 2011 to Jun 2011. Using the LASCO C3 running difference images, we estimated the instantaneous apparent speeds of the HCMEs in different radial directions from the solar disk center. We find that the development of all these HCMEs is accompanied with quasi-periodic variations of the instantaneous radial velocity with the periods ranging from 24 to 48 mins. The amplitudes of the instant speed variations reach about a half of the projected speeds. The amplitudes are found to anti-correlate with the periods and correlate with the HCME speed, indicating the nonlinear nature of the process. The oscillations have a clear azimuthal structure in the heliocentric polar coordinate system. The oscillations in seven events are found to be associated with distinct azimuthal wave modes with the azimuthal wave number m=1 for six events and m=2 for one event. The polarization of the oscillations in these seven HCMEs is broadly consistent with those of their position angles with the mean difference of $42.5^{\circ}$. The oscillations may be connected with natural oscillations of the plasmoids around a dynamical equilibrium, or self-oscillatory processes, e.g. the periodic shedding of Alfvenic vortices. Our results indicate the need for advanced theory of oscillatory processes in CMEs.
Soliton pulse outputs are generated with figure '8' type erbium-doped fiber laser mode-locked by using a fiber loop mirror. The fiber loop mirror consists of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier at the one end of the loop, and 504 m-long dispersion-shifted fiber as a nonlinear medium. By pumping with a $1.48{\mu}m$ wavelength laser diode and adjusting the polarization controllers inside the loop, soliton pulses are generated with 1574 nm center wavelength and 1.2 nm linewidth. The soliton pulses are found randomly spaced within the fundamental period corresponding to cavity round trip time. The autocorrelation trace shows that the pulse width is 2.4 ps, which is in good agreement with the theoretical prediction. The pulsewidth- bandwidth product is found to be 0.348 which means that the pulses are nearly transform-limited.imited.
The dielectric properties and phase transformation of poled <001>-oriented $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-x%PbTiO_3$(PMN-x%PT) single crystals with compositions of x = 20, 30, and 35 mole% are investigated for orientations both parallel and perpendicular to the [001] poling direction. An electric-field-induced monoclinic phase was observed for the initial poled PMN-30PT and PMN-35PT samples by means of high-resolution synchrotron x-ray diffraction. The monoclinic phase appears from $-25^{\circ}C$ to $100^{\circ}C$ and from $-25^{\circ}C$ to $80^{\circ}C$ for the PMN-30PT and PMN-35PT samples, respectively. The dielectric constant (${\varepsilon}$)-temperature (T) characteristics above the Curie temperature were found to be described by the equation$(1/{\varepsilon}-1/{\varepsilon}_m)^{1/n}=(T-T_m)/C$, where ${\varepsilon}_m$ is the maximum dielectric constant and $T_m$ is the temperature giving ${\varepsilon}_m$, and n and C are constants that change with the composition. The value of n was found to be 1.82 and 1.38 for 20PT and 35PT, respectively. The results of mesh scans and the temperature-dependence of the dielectric constant demonstrate that the initial monoclinic phase changes to a single domain tetragonal phase and a to paraelectric cubic phase. In the ferroelectric tetragonal phase with a single domain state, the dielectric constant measured perpendicular to the poling direction was dramatically higher than that measured in the parallel direction. A large dielectric constant implies easier polarization rotation away from the polar axis. This enhancement is believed to be related to dielectric softening close to the morphotropic phase boundary.
The pyroelectric property of $Pb_{0.9}La$_{0.1}TiO_3$ceramics in a range of 1.3-4.1$\mu\textrm{m}$, fabricated by conventional solid sintering, was investigated as a function of poling field. The pyroelectric of the 4.1$\mu\textrm{m}$ of $Pb_{0.9}La$_{0.1}TiO_3$ceramics is higher than that of the 1.3$\mu\textrm{m}$ and 1.7$\mu\textrm{m}$ of $Pb_{0.9}La$_{0.1}TiO_3$ceramics at a low poling field and the pyroelectric coefficient is 25nC/$\textrm{cm}^2$K at a 4kV/mm poling field in every grain size. In order to explain this phenomenon, the intrinsic and extrinsic effects in view of the definition of the pyroelectric coefficient are introduced. The intrinsic and extrinsic effects on the pyroelectric property were investigated by measuring the tetragonal ratio and the $I_{002}$ with temperature with high temperature X-ray diffractometer. The change of spontaneous polarization and the $90^{\circ}$domain wall motion with temperature in the 1.3$\mu\textrm{m}$ and 4.2$\mu\textrm{m}$ of $Pb_{0.9}La$_{0.1}TiO_3$ceramics have no effects on the pyroelectric coefficient. In our study, it can be seen that the pyroelectric coefficient is related to the quantity of $180^{\circ}$domain switching after poling treatment.
