THE APPLICATION OF STOCHASTIC ANALYSIS TO POPULATION GENETICS MODEL

  • In allelic model $X=(x_1,\;x_2,\;{\cdots},\;x_d)$, $$M_f(t)=f(p(t))-{\int}_0^t\;Lf(p(t))ds$$ is a P-martingale for diffusion operator L under the certain conditions. In this note, we try to apply diffusion processes for countable-allelic model in population genetic model and we can define a new diffusion operator $L^*$. Since the martingale problem for this operator $L^*$ is related to diffusion processes, we can define a integral which is combined with operator $L^*$ and a bilinar form $<{\cdot},{\cdot}>$. We can find properties for this integral using maximum principle.

샐비아(Salvia splendens F.) 종자의 발아촉진을 위한 Priming 조건에 관한 연구 (Priming Conditions to Improve Germination of Salvia (Salvia splendens F.) Seeds)

  • 샐비아 종자의 발아촉진을 위하여 priming 약제의 종류와 농도, priming시 처리온도와 처리기간, 그리고 priming후 발아온도에 따른 효과를 검토하였다. 샐비아 종자는 50mM 혹은 100mM $KH_2PO_4$와 -0.50MPa 혹은 -0.75MPa PEG 8000에서 priming 하였을 때 발아율이 가장 높았다. 그리고 T50과 평균발아소요일수(MDG)는 50mM $KH_2PO_4$와 -0.50MPa PEG 처리 시 단축효과가 가장 크게 나타나 초기발아율에 향상에 효과적이었다. 그러나 $K_3PO_4$ 및 NaOH 처리에서는 전혀 발아되지 않았다. 처리온도에 따라서는 $15^{\circ}C$$25^{\circ}C$ 처리에 비하여 $20^{\circ}C$ 처리가 가장 효과적이었으며, $20^{\circ}C$에서 4일 및 6일 처리 시 무처리에 비하여 MDG가 2.3일 단축되었다. -0.50MPa PEG에서 priming후 발아온도에 따라서는 $20^{\circ}C$에서 발아율이 높았으며, T50 및 MDG가 단축되었는데 이러한 경향은 $10^{\circ}C$$35^{\circ}C$에서 더 크게 나타났다. 그리고 -0.50 MPa PEG에 50mM $KH_2PO_4$ 혼용처리 시는 $10^{\circ}C$를 제외하고는 모든 발아온도에서 무처리에 비하여 발아율이 낮아지는 경향이었지만 T50 및 MDG의 단축효과는 그대로 유지되었다.

Immunological Characterization of Full and Truncated Recombinant Clones of ompH(D:4) Obtained from Pasteurella multocida (D:4) in Korea

  • We cloned a gene of ompH(D:4) from pigs infected with P. multocida D:4 in Korea [16]. The gene is composed of 1,026 nucleotides coding 342 amino acids (aa) with a signal peptide of 20 aa (GenBank accession number AY603962). In this study, we analyzed the ability of the ompH(D:4) to induce protective immunity against a wild-type challenge in mice. To determine appropriate epitope(s) of the gene, one full and three different types of truncated genes of the ompH(D:4) were constructed by PCR using pET32a or pRSET B as vectors. They were named ompH(D:4)-F (1,026 bp [1-1026] encoding 342 aa), ompH(D:4)-t1 (693 bp [55-747] encoding 231 aa), ompH(D:4)-t2 (561 bp [187-747] encoding 187 aa), and ompH(D:4)-t3 (540 bp [487-1026] encoding 180 aa), respectively. The genes were successfully expressed in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3). Their gene products, polypeptides, OmpH(D:4)-F, -t1, -t2, and -t3, were purified individually using nickel-nitrilotriacetic acid (Ni-NTA) affinity column chromatography. Their $M_rs$ were determined to be 54.6, 29, 24, and 23.2 kDa, respectively, using SDS-PAGE. Antisera against the four kinds of polypeptides were generated in mice for protective immunity analyses. Some $50{\mu}g$ of the four kinds of polypeptides were individually provided intraperitoneally with mice (n=20) as immunogens. The titer of post-immunized antiserum revealed that it grew remarkably compared with pre-antiserum. The lethal dose of the wild-type pathogen was determined at $10{\mu}l$ of live P. multocida D:4 through direct intraperitoneal (IP) injection, into post-immune mice (n=5, three times). Some thirty days later, the lethal dose ($10{\mu}l$) of live pathogen was challenged into the immunized mouse groups [OmpH(D:4)-F, -t1, -t2, and -t3; n=20 each, two times] as well as positive and negative control groups. As compared within samples, the OmpH(D:4)-F-immunized groups showed lower immune ability than the OmpH(D:4)-t1, -t2, and -t3. The results show that the truncated-OmpH(D:4)-t1, -t2, and -t3 can be used for an effective vaccine candidate against swine atrophic rhinitis caused by pathogenic P. multocida (D:4) isolated in Korea.

수온과 개체크기에 따른 양식산 미더덕, 흰멍게, 진주담치의 여수율 (Filtering Rate with Effect of Water Temperature and Size of Two Farming Ascidians Styela clava and S. plicata, and a Farming Mussel Mytilus edulis)

  • 근년에 내만성 굴양식장의 생산성이 저하함에 따라 대체종으로 미더덕과 횐멍게가 주목되면서 이 종들의 생태적 지위가 기존의 양식굴과 상충되는지 여부를 알아보기 위한 일련의 조사계획의 하나로서 여수율을 조사하였으며, 조사결과와 Kim (1995)의 양식굴의 여수율 ($\ast$)을 비교 검토하였다. 1. 폐쇄계에서 해수수온 $10^{\circ}C,\;15^{\circ}C,\;20^{\circ}C,\;25^{\circ}C,\;29^{\circ}C$일때 시간에 따른 현탁색소의 제거율을 측정하고, Kim (1995)의 계산식을 사용하여 여수율을 계산하였다. 현탁색소는 neutral red를 사용하였으며, 22mm 흡수셀을 사용하여 440nm에서 초기흡광도 $0.25\~0.30$을 나타내는 농도를 사용하였다. 2. 여수율은 한시간동안 실험생물 1개체가 여수하는 양을 그 개체의 건조중량으로 나누어서 단위시간당 단위건조육중량당 여수량 (${\ell}/gDW/hr$)으로 산출하고, 이것이 개체 건조육중량과 수온에 의하여 받는 영향을 회귀경향식으로 해석하여, 종별 개체여수율 ($F,\;{\ell}/hr/animal$) 모형으로 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 4. 종별로 수확시의 수온과 개체 평균중량 자료를 사용하여 연승 1대 (100m)당 집단 여수율을 계산한 결과는 다음과 같았다.

도열병균에서 추출한 Cx효소의 순화 및 특성에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Isolation, Purification and Characterization of a Cx Enzyme Produced by Pyricularia oryzae, $C-7^{+t}$)

  • 2% CMC (Carboxymethyl cellulose)를 탄소원으로 하여 $28^{\circ}C$에서 8일간 배양한 도열병균 (Pyriculariaoryzae, $C-7^{+t}$)의 배양액을$(NH_4)_2SO_4$ 염석, Sephadex G-150 및 DEAE-Sephadex A-25 column chromatography를 거쳐 순화하였다. 순화결과 $F_1,\;F_2,\;F_3$ 3개의 CMCase $(C_x)$, 1개의 Avicelase $(C_1)$ 및 1개의 ${\beta}-glucosidase$를 얻었는데 그중 $C_1$ 효소의 $F_3$만을 골라 실험을 계속했다. 이 효소의 활성도는 pH 6.0 과 $40^{\circ}C$에서 가장 높았으며 $40^{\circ}C$까지 안정한 효소인 것을 알 수 있었다. 이 효소의 Km과 Vmax값은 각각 $2.8{\times}10^{-3}mM$, 5.9 mmoles/hour이었고, 분자량은 Sephadex G-150 column chromatography에 의해 약 80,000으로 나타났다. 약 7배로 순화된 이 효소의 순화정도를 polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis에 의해 검증한 결과 1개의band를 나타냈다.

모의실험을 통한 한국 동해 도루묵(Arctoscopus japonicus)의 자연사망 계수 조건에 따른 가입당 생산 분석 (Simulation-based Yield-per-recruit Analysis of Sandfish Arctoscopus japonicus in the East Sea of Korea Subjected to Natural Mortality Conditions)

  • To estimate the biological reference points, suitable for fisheries management of sandfish Arctoscopus japonicas in the East Sea of Korea, we simulated the yield-per-recruit (Y/R) from age 0 to 6 (0-2,555 days). The stimulation was based on two instantaneous natural mortality conditions: size-dependent (Mt, d-1) and constant (Mcons, d-1); Subsequently, the biological reference points of the two mortality conditions was compared. Mt decreased from 0.0075 d-1 to 0.0018 d-1 depending on growth, and Mcons remained constant at 0.0011 d-1 for all ages. Our Y/R model showed that the maximum yield of Mcons was 14 times higher than that of the Mt. The length at first capture to maximize the harvest at the F0.1 points of the two natural mortality conditions was Lc,t=10.2 cm (TL) and Lc,cons=17 cm (TL). We concluded that Mt was more suitable for estimating M than Mcons; this is because Lc,t showed minimal difference from the current fishing regulations (11 cm, TL), and Mt reflected more biological characteristics than Mcons. We suggest that 10.2 cm and 0.8 as the suitable length at first capture and corresponding age, respectively for efficient fisheries management of sandfish.

ON SOLVABILITY OF THE DISSIPATIVE KIRCHHOFF EQUATION WITH NONLINEAR BOUNDARY DAMPING

  • In this paper, we prove the global existence and uniqueness of the dissipative Kirchhoff equation $$u_{tt}-M({\parallel}{\nabla}u{\parallel}^2){\triangle}u+{\alpha}u_t+f(u)=0\;in\;{\Omega}{\times}[0,{\infty}),\\u(x,t)=0\;on\;{\Gamma}_1{\times}[0,{\infty}),\\{\frac{{\partial}u}{\partial{\nu}}}+g(u_t)=0\;on\;{\Gamma}_0{\times}[0,{\infty}),\\u(x,0)=u_0,u_t(x,0)=u_1\;in\;{\Omega}$$ with nonlinear boundary damping by Galerkin approximation benefited from the ideas of Zhang et al. [33]. Furthermore,we overcome some difficulties due to the presence of nonlinear terms $M({\parallel}{\nabla}u{\parallel}^2)$ and $g(u_t)$ by introducing a new variables and we can transform the boundary value problem into an equivalent one with zero initial data by argument of compacity and monotonicity.

  • This paper works on development of an algorithm for mapping of cerebral perfusion parameters using the gamma-variate curve fitting. The signal intensity variate curve according to time measured in each pixel of perfusion MRI is nonlinear, and various hemodynamic parameters are not computed accurately. Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm(LMA), nonlinear optimum algorithm with high convergent speed and stability, is used to compute them. That is, the signal intensity variate curve is fitted by the gamma-variate function. Various hemodynamic parameters - Cerebral Blood Volume(C.B.V), Mean Transit Time(M.T.T), Cerebral Blood Flow(C.B.F), Time-to-Peak(T.T.P), Bolus Arrival Time(B.A.T), Maximum Slope(M.S) - are computed using LMA.

  • In this paper, we consider the multi-point boundary value problems for one-dimensional p-Laplacian at resonance: $({\phi}_p(x'(t)))'=f(t,x(t),x'(t))$, subject to the boundary value conditions: ${\phi}_p(x'(0))={\sum}^{n-2}_{i=1}{\alpha}_i{\phi}_p(x'({\epsilon}i)),\;{\phi}_p(x'(1))={\sum}^{m-2}_{i=1}{\beta}_j{\phi}_p(x'({\eta}_j))$ where ${\phi}_p(s)=/s/^{p-2}s,p>1,\;{\alpha}_i(1,{\le}i{\le}n-2){\in}R,{\beta}_j(1{\le}j{\le}m-2){\in}R,0<{\epsilon}_1<{\epsilon}_2<...<{\epsilon}_{n-2}1,\;0<{\eta}1<{\eta}2<...<{\eta}_{m-2}<1$, By applying the extension of Mawhin's continuation theorem, we prove the existence of at least one solution. Our result is new.
