그물어구의 유수저항과 모형수칙 -2. 자루형 그물의 유수저항- (Flow Resistance and Modeling Rule of Fishing Nets -2. Flow Resistance of Bag Nets-)

  • 본 실험에서는 자루그물의 구조와 형상 및 사용 그 물감의 규격의 변화에 따른 저항의 변화를 조사하고, 그 저항이 전보에서 구한 저항식에 의해 정도 높게 해석되는가를 확인하기 위하여, 유연도가 큰 Nylon 그물감으로 자루그물을 사각추형으로 설계하고 상기 각 요소들을 변화시켜 회류수조(관측부 길이 : 7.00m, 수로 폭 : 1.45m, 수심 : 1.20m)에서 유속 v에서 받는 저항 R을 측정한 후, $R=kSv^2$(S: 그물 벽의 면적)에 의해 저항계수 $k(kg\;\cdot\;sec^2/m^4)$를 구하고 k로써 각각의 경우를 비교하였다. 실험에서 얻어진 결과를 요약하면 대략 다음과 같다. 1) 정사각추형으로 설계된 자루그물의 입구를 둘레가 서로 같은 원형 틀과 정사각형 틀에 교대로 부착하면, 수중 형상은 원형 틀에서는 매끈한 원추형이 되고 정각각형 틀에서는 입구 주변만을 제외한 나머지 모든 부분이 원추형이 되었기 때문에, k값에는 별다른 차리가 생기지 않았다 또한, 직편각추형으로 설계된 자루그물을 직체각형 틀에 부착하면 입구 주변만을 제외한 나머지 모든 部分이 타원추형이 되었는데, 그 때의 k값은 정사각추형으로 설계된 그물이 수중에서 원추형을 이루는 경우와 거의 같았다. 2) 정사각추형으로 설계된 자루그물에 대해 발의 길이 1에 대한 지름 d의 비 d/1를 변화시키면 k는 d/1가 큰 그물일수록 커지는 경향이었고, 입구 면적 $S_m$ 및 그물감의 재료는 일정하게 하고 $S/S_m$ 또는 흐름에 대한 그물의 영각 $\theta$를 변화시키면 k는 $S/S_m$가 커질수록 작아지는 경향이었다. 그러나, $kS/Sm$$S/S_m=1-4$ 또는 $\theta=15-90^{\circ}$의 범위에서는 거의 일정하였고, $S/S_m>4$ 또는 $\theta<15^{\circ}$ 직선적으로 증가하였다. 3) 본 실험에서 얻은 결과를 전보에서 구한 그물 저항식에 의해 해석하면, 자루그물에 있어 그물코의 면적에 대한 발의 체적의 비 $\lambda$$$\lambda={\frac{\pi d^2}{21\;sin\;2\varphi}$$를 대표치수로 하는 레이놀즈수를 $R_e$라 하고($2\varphi$: 그물코의 전개각), 흐름에 수직인 평면에 대한 그물의 총 투영면적을 $S_n$이라 할 때, $R_e<100$의 영역에서는 $$k=160R_e\;^{-01}(\frac{S_n}{S_m})^{1.2}\;(\frac{S_m}{S})^{1.6}$$으로 주어졌고 $R_e\geq100$ 영역에서는 $$k=100(\frac{S_n}{S_m})^{1.2}\;(\frac{S_m}{S})^{1.6}$$으로 주어졌다. 이러한 결과는 전보에서 구한 k와 일치하는 것이므로, 전보에서 구한 k는 자루그물에 대한 책험의 결과와 잘 일치한다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

오대산지진(M=4.8, '07. 1. 20)의 단층파열방향성 (Fault rupture directivity of Odaesan Earthquake (M=4.8, '07. 1. 20))

  • 2007년 1월 20일 발생한 '오대산지진(M = 4.8)'의 특징적인 점은 근거리 지역 관측소인 DGY(기상청 대관령, 진앙거리 = 7 km)에서 기록된 비정상적으로 높은 PGA(최대지반가속도) 관측값(< 0.1 g)이다. 한편 DGY 관측소는 진앙지인근에 위치한 매우 양호한 지진관측소(연관희와 서정희, 2007)로 분류되므로 지진파전달이나 부지증폭특성으로는 설명될 수 없으며, 고주파지진동에 큰 영향을 주는 지진원 특성인 단층파열방향성(rupture directivity)에 의한 것으로 예비 해석될 수 있다. 이 연구에서는 Boatwright (2007)의 방법을 이용하여 단층파열속도(v)의 전단파속도(c)에 대한 상대적 비(= v/c) 및 파열진행방향과의 이격각(${\theta}$, deviation angle)에 대한 함수로 주어지는 일방향 단층파열방향성(unilateral rupture directivity)을 추정하였다. 이러한 단층파열방향성을 평가하기 위해 진앙지 인근 지역의 지진관측소에 대한 점지진원 스펙트럼 모델(Boore, 2003)에 대한 예측오차를 오대산지진의 전 여진 관측자료을 이용하여 계산한 후, 본진 관측자료를 이용한 예측오차와 상대적으로 비교하였다. 본진의 전 여진에 대한 상대적인 스펙트럼 예측오차로부터 관측소별 PGA의 상대적인 크기를 추정하고 이 결과를 이용하여 오대산지진의 단층파열 방향성을 평가한 결과, 오대산지진 인근에서의 높은 PGA 관측값은 NWW-SEE 방향의 북측으로 고각을 갖는 단층면상에서 SE 방향을 따라 거의 수직하게 지표면으로 빠르게 진행된 단층파열의 영향으로 해석되었다.

산물벼 함수율 측정을 위한 $2{\times}2$ 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나 개발 (A $2{\times}2$ Microstrip Patch Antenna Array for Moisture Content Measurement of Paddy Rice)

  • To develop the grain moisture meter using microwave free space transmission technique, a 10.5GHz microwave signal with the power of 11mW generated by an oscillar with a dielectric resonator is transmitted to an isolator and radiated from a transmitting $2{\times}2$ microstrip patch array antenna into the sample holder filled with the 12 to 26%w.b. of Korean Hwawung paddy rice. the microwave signal, attenuated through the grain with moisture, is collected by a receiving $2{\times}2$ microstrip patch array antenna and detected using a Shottky diode with excellent high frequency characteristic. A pair of light and simple microstrip patch array antenna for measurement of grain moisture content is designed and implemented on atenflon substrate with trleative dielectric constant of 2.6 and thickness of 0.54 by using Ensemble ver. 4.02 software. The aperture of microstrip patch arrays is 41 mm width and 24mm high. The characteristics of microstrip patch antenna such as grain. return loss, and bandwidth are 11.35dBi, -38dB and 0.35GHz($50^{\circ}$ at far-field pattern of E and H plane. The width of the sample holder is large enough to cover the signal between the antennas temperature and bulk density respectively. The calibration model for measurement of grain moisture content is proposed to reduce the effects of fluectuations in bulk density and temperature which give serious errors for the measurements . From the results of regression analysis using the statistically analysis method, the moisture content of grain samples (MC(%)) is expressed in terms of the output voltage(v), temperature (t), and bulk density of samples(${\rho}b$)as follows ;$$MC(%)\;=\;(-3.9838{\times}10^{-8}{\times}v^{3}+8.023{\times}10^{-6}{\times}v^{2}-0.0011{\times}v-0.0004{\times}t+0.1706){\frac{1}{{\rho}b}}{\times}100$ Its determination coefficient, standard error of prediction(SEP) and bias were found to be 0.9855, 0.479%w.b. and -0.0.369 %w.b. respectively between measured and predicted moisture contents of the grain samples.

Development Status of the DOTIFS: a new multi-IFU optical spectrograph for the 3.6m Devasthal Optical Telescope

  • DOTIFS is a new multi-object Integral Field Spectrograph (IFS) being designed and fabricated by the Inter-University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics, Pune, India, (IUCAA) for the Cassegrain side port of the 3.6m Devasthal Optical Telescope (DOT). The telescope is constructed by the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences, Nainital (ARIES). Its main scientific objectives are the physics and kinematics of the ionized gas, star formation and H II regions in nearby galaxies. It is a novel instrument in terms of multi-IFU, built in deployment system, and high throughput. It consists of one magnifier, 16 integral field units (IFUs), and 8 spectrographs. Each IFU is comprised of a microlens array and 144 optical fibers, and has $7.4^{\prime\prime}{\times}8.7^{\prime\prime}$ field of view with 144 spaxel elements with a sampling of 0.8" hexagonal aperture. The IFUs can be deployed on the telescope side port over an 8' diameter focal plane by x-y actuators. 8 Identical, all refractive, dedicated fiber spectrographs will produce 2,304 R~1800 spectra over 370-740nm wavelength range with single exposure. Currently, conceptual and baseline design review had been done, and is in the critical design phase with a review planned for later this year. Some of the components have already arrived. The instrument will see its first light in 2015.

Performance Prediction of a Laser-guide Star Adaptive Optics System for a 1.6 m Telescope

  • We are currently investigating the feasibility of a 1.6 m telescope with a laser-guide star adaptive optics (AO) system. The telescope, if successfully commissioned, would be the first dedicated adaptive optics observatory in South Korea. The 1.6 m telescope is an f/13.6 Cassegrain telescope with a focal length of 21.7 m. This paper first reviews atmospheric seeing conditions measured over a year in 2014~2015 at the Bohyun Observatory, South Korea, which corresponds to an area from 11.6 to 21.6 cm within 95% probability with regard to the Fried parameter of 880 nm at a telescope pupil plane. We then derive principal seeing conditions such as the Fried parameter and Greenwood frequency for eight astronomical spectral bands (V/R/I/J/H/K/L/M centered at 0.55, 0.64, 0.79, 1.22, 1.65, 2.20, 3.55, and $4.77{\mu}m$). Then we propose an AO system with a laser guide star for the 1.6 m telescope based on the seeing conditions. The proposed AO system consists of a fast tip/tilt secondary mirror, a $17{\times}17$ deformable mirror, a $16{\times}16$ Shack-Hartmann sensor, and a sodium laser guide star (589.2 nm). The high order AO system is close-looped with 2 KHz sampling frequency while the tip/tilt mirror is independently close-looped with 63 Hz sampling frequency. The AO system has three operational concepts: 1) bright target observation with its own wavefront sensing, 2) less bright star observation with wavefront sensing from another bright natural guide star (NGS), and 3) faint target observation with tip/tilt sensing from a bright natural guide star and wavefront sensing from a laser guide star. We name these three concepts 'None', 'NGS only', and 'LGS + NGS', respectively. Following a thorough investigation into the error sources of the AO system, we predict the root mean square (RMS) wavefront error of the system and its corresponding Strehl ratio over nine analysis cases over the worst ($2{\sigma}$) seeing conditions. From the analysis, we expect Strehl ratio >0.3 in most seeing conditions with guide stars.

  • Probenecid의 결정구조는 graphite-monochromated Mo-K${\alpha}$선을 사용하는 ENRAF-NONIUS CAD-4 자동 X-선 4축 회절기에서 수집된 2574개의 독립적 회절 반점들을 이용하여 결정되었다. 결정은 triclinic system에 속하고, 공간군은 P$\bar{1}$이며, 단위세포 상수는 a = 7.535(2)${\AA}$, b = 18.473 (5)${\AA}$, c = 5.317(9)${\AA}$, ${\alpha} = 92.00(5)^{\circ}$, ${\beta} = 99.02(5)^{\circ}$, ${\gamma} = 94.89(2)^{\circ}$, V = 727.4(2)${\AA}^3$이었다. 이 밖의 다른 parameters로서, Z = 2, $D_m$ = 1.310, $D_x = 1.302 gcm^{-3}$, ${\mu} = 1.88 cm^{-1}$, F(000) = 304, and T = 298 K이었다. 5${\sigma}(F_o)$ 이상인 1209개의 반점들에대한 최종 R및 $R_w$는 각각 0.0676과 0.0630이었다. 질소원자 N(13)의 공간배열에서, 결합각의 합은 350.9이며, 질소 주위의 세 원자가 이루는 평면에서 0.268(6)${\AA}$ 만큼 벗어나 있다. S(1)-C(4) 결합길이는 1.792(6)${\AA}$이며 C(4)-S(1)-N(13) 결합각은 $106.5(3)^{\circ}$이다. 분자의 전체적인 형태는 황에 대하여 접혀진 구조를 나타내고 있다.

Energy Requirements in Early Life Are Similar for Male and Female Goat Kids

  • Little is known about the gender differences in energetic requirements of goats in early life. In this study, we determined the energy requirements for maintenance and gain in intact male, castrated male and female Saanen goat kids using the comparative slaughter technique and provide new data on their body composition and energy efficiency. To determine the energy requirements for maintenance, we studied 21 intact males, 15 castrated males and 18 females ($5.0{\pm}0.1kg$ initial body weight (BW) and $23{\pm}5d$ of age) using a split-plot design with the following main factors: three genders (intact males, castrated males, and females) and three dry matter intake levels (ad libitum, 75% and 50% of ad libitum intake). A slaughter group included three kids, one for each nutritional plane, of each gender, and all three animals within a group were slaughtered when the ad libitum kid reached 15 kg in BW. Net energy requirements for gain were obtained for 17 intact males, eight castrated males and 15 females ($5.1{\pm}0.4kg$ BW and $23{\pm}13d$ of age). Animals were fed ad libitum and slaughtered when they reached 5, 10, and 15 kg in BW. A digestion trial was performed with nine kids of each gender to determine digestible energy, metabolizable energy and energy metabolizability of the diet. Our results show no effect of gender on the energy requirements for maintenance and gain, and overall net energy for maintenance was $205.6kJ/kg^{0.75}$ empty body weight gain (EBW) ($170.3kJ/kg^{0.75}$ BW) from 5 to 15 kg BW. Metabolizable energy for maintenance was calculated by iteration, assuming heat production equal to metabolizable energy intake at maintenance, and the result was $294.34kJ/kg^{0.75}$ EBW and $k_m$ of 0.70. As BW increased from 5 to 15 kg for all genders, the net energy required for gain increased from 9.5 to 12.0 kJ/g EBW gain (EWG), and assuming $k_g=0.47$, metabolizable energy for gain ranged from 20.2 to 25.5 kJ/g EWG. Our results indicate that it is not necessary to formulate diets with different energetic content for intact male, castrated male and female Saanen goat kids weighing from 5 to 15 kg.

하악전돌증에 있어서 전산화단층촬영을 이용한 하악지의 형태학적 평가 (MORPHOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF MANDIBULAR RAMUS IN MANDIBULAR PROGNATHISM BY COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY)

  • Sagittal split ramus osteotomy (SSRO) is widely used in treatment of dentofacial deformities. But, many complications can occur including unfavorable fractures during osteotomy. To prevent these complications, it is necessary to understand comprehensively the anatomy of the mandiular ramus. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the morphology of the madibular ramus in manibular prognathism patients by computed tomography comparing with normal control group. The study group consisted of 33 skeletal class III patients (20 males, 13 females) and the control group consisted of the 52 patients without dentofacial deformities (32 males, 20 females). The mean age of study group was 22.0-year old, and that of control group was 37.1-year. For the CT examination, following scan parameters was used: 1mm slice thickness, 0.5 second scan time, 120kV and 100mA/s. The axial scans of the head were made parallel to the mandibular occlusal plane. The anteroposterior length of the ramus, the distance from anterior border of the ramus to lingula, the relative distance from the anterior border of the ramus to lingula compared to the anteroposterior length of the ramus, the thickness of anterior and posterior cortical plate, the thickness of medial cortical plate of the ramus at lingula level, the thickness of cancellous bone of the ramus at lingula level were measured. The skeletal class III mandibular prognathism patients exhibited shorter anteroposterior length of the ramus, thicker anterior and posterior cortical plate, thinner mediolateral cancellous bone thickness. The lingula has a relative stable anteroposterior position in ramus in all groups. There was higher possibility of fusion of medial and lateral cortical plate at lingula level in the mandibular prognathism group. In conclusion, the mandibular prognathism patients have narrow rami with scanty cancellous bone, which means that careful preoperative examination including CT scan can prevent undesirable fractures during osteotomy.

New Generalized SVPWM Algorithm for Multilevel Inverters

  • In this paper a new generalized space vector pulse width modulation scheme is proposed based on the principle of reverse mapping to drive the switches of multilevel inverters. This projected scheme is developed based on the middle vector of the subhexagon which holds the tip of the reference vector, which plays a major role in mapping the reference vector. A new approach is offered to produce middle vector of the subhexagon which holds tip of the reference vector in the multilevel space vector plane. By using middle vector of the subhexagon, reference vector is linked towards the inner two level sub-hexagon. Then switching vectors, switching sequence and dwell times corresponding to a particular sector of a two-level inverter are determined. After that, by using the two level stage findings, the switching vectors related to exact position of the reference vector are directly generated based on principle of the reverse mapping approach and do not need to be found at n level stage. In the reverse mapping principle, the middle vector of subhexagon is added to the formerly found two level switching vectors. The proposed generalized algorithm is efficient and it can be applied to an inverter of any level. In this paper, the proposed scheme is explained for a five-level inverter and the performance is analyzed for five level and three level inverters through MATLAB. The simulation results are validated by implementing the propose scheme on a V/f controlled three-level inverter fed induction motor using dSPACE control desk.

Ta Doped SnO2 Transparent Conducting Films Prepared by PLD

  • Transparent and conducting thin films of Ta-doped $SnO_2$ were fabricated on a glass substrate by a pulse laser deposition(PLD) method. The structural, optical, and electrical properties of these films were investigated as a function of doping level, oxygen partial pressure, substrate temperature, and film thickness. XRD results revealed that all the deposited films were polycrystalline and the intensity of the (211) plane of $SnO_2$ decreased with an increase of Ta content. However, the orientation of the films changed from (211) to (110) with an increase in oxygen partial pressure (40 to 100 mTorr) and substrate temperature. The crystallinity of the films also increased with the substrate temperature. The electrical resistivity measurements showed that the resistivity of the films decreased with an increase in Ta doping, which exhibited the lowest resistivity (${\rho}{\sim}1.1{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$) for 10 wt% Ta-doped $SnO_2$ film, and then increased further. However, the resistivity continuously decreased with the oxygen partial pressure and substrate temperature. The optical bandgap of the 10 wt% Ta-doped $SnO_2$ film increased (3.67 to 3.78 eV) with an increase in film thickness from 100-700 nm, and the figure of merit revealed an increasing trend with the film thickness.
