In this paper, a simple algorithm for detection of timing error of a synchronous, band-limited, multi-level data stream is proposed. The proposed algorithm can be applied to multi-level PAM, M-ary PSK, or M-ary QAM. The proposed algorithm for M-ary PSK requires only two samples per symbol for its operation, and it is based on the concept of transition logic table and transition level table. In orer to prove the steady-state operation of the proposed algorithm, its performance is evaluated and compared to BECM by Monte Carlo simulation method under Gaussian noise and fading noise channel environments. The comparison results confirm that the perforance of proposed algorithm is superior to that of BECM in jitter characteristics.
Purpose : Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) is critical in the immune response to mycobacterial infections. The purpose of this study was to analyze TLR2 surface expressions and TLR2-mediated tumor necrosis factor-alpha ($TNF-{\alpha}$) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) production in patients with BCG vaccine-associated suppurative lymphadenitis. Methods : Peripheral monocytes were separated from 16 patients with BCG vaccine-associated suppurative lymphadenitis and 10 healthy controls using a magnet cell isolation kit. Monocytes ($1{\times}10^6$ cells/well) were incubated with a constant amount of $Pam_3CSK_4$ ($100{\mu}g/mL$) for 24 hours. TLR2 surface expression on monocytes was analyzed by FACS analysis and TLR-2 mRNA expression was determined by RT-PCR. TLR2-mediated $TNF-{\alpha}$ and IL-6 production were measured by ELISA. Results : In patients with BCG vaccine-associated suppurative lymphadenitis, low TLR2 expression on monocytes ($3.39{\pm}$1.2% versus $4.64{\pm}2.6%$) together with significantly lower TLR2 mRNA expression than in the healthy controls was seen after $Pam_3CSK_4$ stimulation. TLR2-mediated $TNF-{\alpha}$ and IL-6 production in patients with BCG vaccine-associated suppurative lymphadenitis ($TNF-{\alpha}$, $775.5{\pm}60.8pg/mL$; IL-6, $4,645.8{\pm}583.9pg/mL$) were also lesser than that in healthy controls ($TNF-{\alpha}$, $1,098.5{\pm}94.3pg/mL$; IL-6, $6,696.3{\pm}544.3pg/mL$). Conclusion : These findings suggest that low TLR2 expression on monocytes might be associated with increased susceptibility to BCG vaccine-associated suppurative lymphadenitis.
Effects of artificial and solar W-B radiation on five rhodophytes (Curdiea racovitzae, Gigaytina skottsbergii, Mazzaella obovata, Myriogramme manginii, Palmaria decipiens) from Antarctica have been investigated using PAM fluorescence in laboratory and in the field. Laboratory studies showed that there were significant differences in the UV sensitivity between different species, and that the differences appeared to be correlated with the depth of collection of the specimens. It was apparent from the observations that the samples such as M. manginii and P. decipiens collected from 20-30 m depths were move sensitive to W-B radiation compared with those collected from shallower depths, The present study confirmed that an acclimation to the surrounding light regime could be an important factor to determine the UV-sensitivity of a species or individuals and that PAM measurements are rapid and non-destructive methods to evaluate UV influences. From field studies on M. manginii and P. decipiens it was observed that both plants exhibited changes in the effective quantum yield, with the minimum values nt noon followed by n recovery in the evening. Photoinhibition occurred in these species could therefore be accounted for by so- called dynamic photoinhibition. It seems likely that this protective mechanism may contribute to survival of the species in shallow water where they may encounter intense solar radiation. The presence or absence of the W- B component under solar radiation differently affected the photosynthetic recovery process, and the rate of recovery was much stoney in UV- present than in W- absent conditions. Functional role of W- B appears to delay the recovery of photosynthesis in the studied macroalgae. Differential sensitivity to UV-B recognised between M. manginii and P. decipiens seemed to correspond well with the amount of UV-absorbing substances (UVAS) contained in the respective species. Higher tolerance to solar radiation by the latter species may be due to the higher amount of UVAS. There were variations of UVAS concentrations in algal thalli depending on the season and depth of collection.

Aiming at high-power and long-pulse operation up to 1000 s, some improvements have been made for both 2.45 GHz and 4.6 GHz lower hybrid (LH) systems during the recent 5 years. At first, the guard limiters of the LH antennas with graphite tiles were upgraded to tungsten, the most promising material for plasma facing components in nuclear fusion devices. These new guard limiters can operate at a peak power density of 12.9 MW/m2. Strong hot spots were usually observed on the old graphite limiters when 4.6 GHz system operated with power >2.0 MW [B. N. Wan et al., Nucl. Fusion 57 (2017) 102019], leading to a reduction of the maximum power capability. With the new limiters, 4.6 GHz LH system, the main current drive (CD) and electron heating tool for EAST, can be operated with power >2.5 MW routinely. Long-pulse operation up to 100 s with 4.6 GHz LH power of 2.4 MW was achieved in 2021 and the maximal temperature on the guard limiters measured by an infrared (IR) camera was about 540 ℃, much below the permissible value of tungsten material (~1200 ℃). A discharge with a duration of 1056 s was achieved and the 4.6 GHz LH energy injected into the plasma was up to 1.05 GJ. Secondly, the fully-active-multijunction (FAM) launcher of 2.45 GHz system was upgraded to a passive-active-multijunction (PAM), for which the density of optimum coupling was relatively low (below the cut-off value). Good coupling with reflection coefficient ~3% has been achieved with plasma-antenna distance up to 11 cm for the new PAM. Finally, in order to eliminate the effect of ion cyclotron range of frequencies (ICRF) wave on 4.6 GHz LH wave coupling, the location of the ICRF launcher was changed to a port that is located 157.5° toroidally from the 4.6 GHz LH system and is not magnetically connected.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the weldline movement of the laser welded sheets during the warm deep drawing process. For this investigation, Five steps of temperature ranges, from room temperature to $200^{\circ}C$, and two kinds of thickness combination, 0.8 mm${\times}$1.2 mm and 0.8 mm${\times}$1.6 mm SCP1 material sheets, were adopted. Also, the numerical analysis using the PAM-STAMP has been carried out with the same models as the specimens. As a result the higher temperature was adopted, the less weld-line movement was observed.

Emission from meat cooking may contribute to the concentration of the Particulate Matters(PM) in the city. This study is to investigate the particle size and the emission characteristics of particulate matters from pork and beef cooking. The chamber was installed for sampling of PM generated from pork belly and beef sirloin cooking including seasoned ones. Cascade Impactor and Portable Aerosol Monitor (PAM) were used to analyse the particle size distribution. At the result of the Cascade Impactor sampling, particulate matters from the pork cooking was higher than that of beef. The gravimetric concentration of PM according to the size was highest at the range of $1.95{\sim}3.2{\mu}m$ and the gravimetric concentration of PM from the non-seasoned meat was higher than that of the seasoned one. The emission factors from pork, pork seasoned, beef and beef seasoned were 1.36 g/kg, 1.03 g/kg, 1.23 g/kg, 0.92 g/kg respectively. To see the result of PAM sampling, the ranges of $1.6{\sim}2.5{\mu}m$ and $2.5{\sim}3.5{\mu}m$ were reveled as highest. The ration of $PM_{2.5}/PM_{10}$ from pork and beef was 0.56~0.58. The emission factors from pork, pork seasoned, beef and beef seasoned measured by PAM were revealed as 3.37 g/kg, 2.76 g/kg, 2.93 g/kg, 2.77 g/kg respectively.
This study was to observe the changes of blastogenic responses of splenic Iymphocytes to T-cell mitogens, N. fcwleri Iysate and concanaualin A, and serum antibody titer during the course of experimental PAM in mice. Naegleria fcwleri, strain 0359, was cultured in the CGVS medium axenically and inoculated intranasally with $7{\times}10^4$ trophozoites for the development of experimental PAM in mice. The amoebae were subjected to ultrasonication and centrifuged at 20,000g for 60 minutes, and filtered through $0.2{\mu\textrm{m}}$ filter membrane. The supernatant, N. fcwleri Iysate, was used as T-cell mitogen, and antigen for ELISA. The serum antibody was examined by ELISA using peroxidase conjugate. Two hundred ${\mi}l$ of $10^6$ splenocytes in RPMI 1640 containing 0% fetal calf serum were added to each well of a microtiter plate. To each well was added T-cell mitogens, $100{\mu}g/ml$ of N. fowleri Iysate or $4{\mu}g/ml$ of con. A, and the plates were incubated for 42 hours at $37^{\circ}C$ in 5% $CO_2$ incubator. Cultures were pulsed with of $methyl-(^3H)-thymidine$ 6 hour before harvesting. The mean blastogenic response of the splenocytes to N. fewleri Iysate was reduced, whereas that to con. A was also reduced up to on day 11 after infection. Both of these results were statistically significant compared with those of uninfected control group. The serum antibody titers were increased gradually up to day 15. The results indicated that there was an impairment of the blastogenic response of splenocytes to N. fowleri Iysate during the acute course of experimental PAM in mice.
Two types of nanosized titanium dioxide, anatase ($anTiO_2$) and rutile ($rnTiO_2$), are widely used in industry, commercial products and biosystems. $TiO_2$ has been evaluated as a Group 2B carcinogen. Previous reports indicated that $anTiO_2$ is less toxic than $rnTiO_2$, however, under ultraviolet irradiation $anTiO_2$ is more toxic than $rnTiO_2$ in vitro because of differences in their crystal structures. In the present study, we compared the in vivo and in vitro toxic effects induced by $anTiO_2$ and $rnTiO_2$. Female SD rats were treated with $500{\mu}g/ml$ of $anTiO_2$ or $rnTiO_2$ suspensions by intra-pulmonary spraying 8 times over a two week period. In the lung, treatment with $anTiO_2$ or $rnTiO_2$ increased alveolar macrophage numbers and levels of 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OHdG); these increases tended to be lower in the $anTiO_2$ treated group compared to the $rnTiO_2$ treated group. Expression of $MIP1{\alpha}$ mRNA and protein in lung tissues treated with $anTiO_2$ and $rnTiO_2$ was also significantly up-regulated, with $MIP1{\alpha}$ mRNA and protein expression significantly lower in the $anTiO_2$ group than in the $rnTiO_2$ group. In cell culture of primary alveolar macrophages (PAM) treated with $anTiO_2$ and $rnTiO_2$, expression of $MIP1{\alpha}$ mRNA in the PAM and protein in the culture media was significantly higher than in control cultures. Similarly to the in vivo results, $MIP1{\alpha}$ mRNA and protein expression was significantly lower in the $anTiO_2$ treated cultures compared to the $rnTiO_2$ treated cultures. Furthermore, conditioned cell culture media from PAM cultures treated with $anTiO_2$ had less effect on A549 cell proliferation compared to conditioned media from cultures treated with $rnTiO_2$. However, no significant difference was found in the toxicological effects on cell viability of ultra violet irradiated $anTiO_2$ and $rnTiO_2$. In conclusion, our results indicate that $anTiO_2$ is less potent in induction of alveolar macrophage infiltration, 8-OHdG and $MIP1{\alpha}$ expression in the lung, and growth stimulation of A549 cells in vitro than $rnTiO_2$.

IC lead frame needs the precision shape for good efficiency. In the blanking process, there are many parameter effected the dimensional accuracy : lead width, blanking order, striper force, tool clearance etc. In this research, the4 undesirable defects appeared in the final blanking process. so we measured the deflection of lead according to the stripper force using $PAM-STAMP_{TM}$. In the result, the deflection was decreased by increasing the stripper force properly. and we changed the blanking order on the test model. In the blanking order, deflection is good from the outer line position blanking to center line position. so we can design the precision die without tryout by the prediction of the lead deflection.
In this paper, for the performance evaluation of the discrete wavelet multitone based VDSL modem we have studied VDSL system test loops(VDSL0 - VDSL7) that are proposed by ANSI T1E1.4. In addition, we have modeled the damage factors of the transmission channel and evaluated the data transmission performance of VDSL transmultiplexer based on DWMT in conjunction with the VDSL test loops. For each M-PAM signaling we have evaluated the SNRs that satisfy BER 〓 10$^{-7}$ through simulation and measured the maximum possible transmission speed on each VDSL test loop.
