A Design of Management and Verification Tool of Component and A Development of SAM Simulator based on Dynamic Reconfiguration Architecture (컴포넌트 관리 및 검증도구 설계와 동적 재구성 아키텍처 기반 SAM 시뮬레이터 개발)

  • Modeling and simulation techniques construct experimental environment considering battlefields and are able to analyze performance of components of weapon system that closely resemble reality. However, developed model has low scalability and not cared reusability because it has been used only in a limited range of domain. In this paper, we develop a verification tool to verify reusability of developed component for dynamic reconfiguration and to judge scalability of it and a management tool to control data of it effectively. In addition, dynamic reconfiguration architecture of guided weapon systems designed in the previous study has been applied to SAM(Surface to Air Missile) System Simulator, and we study effectiveness of the developed component. Thus the user can configure various guided weapon systems through simulation application of dynamic reconfiguration architecture of component.

Modelling of Tides in the Bay of Bengal (벵갈만의 조석)

  • As satellite altimetry is being progressed to apply with higher precision to marginal seas, it is necessary to improve correction procedures fer tidal signals in altimetry with more accurate tidal model than the well-known model of Schwiderski. The Bay of Bengal renders many conspicuous coastal oceanographic issues including tide and storm surge interactions along the upper Bangladesh coast. As a first step. tidal regime of semidiurmal tides (M$_2$, S$_2$, $N_2$, $K_2$) and diurnal tides (K$_1$, $O_1$, P$_1$) are computed with a model having a mesh resolution of 1/4 degree over the whole Bay of Bengal. Computed results are discussed with observation and previous Schwideski's tidal map of the region.

Difference in Weed Population as Affected by a Cropping Pattern in Paddy Field (논 작부체계(作付體系) 양식(樣式)에 따른 잡초발생양상(雜草發生樣相)의 변화(變化))

  • This experiment was conducted to know the difference in weed population in the five cropping patterns kept same for six years from 1976 such as ricebarley, potato-rice, pea-rice, rice-rye, and rice-fallow. More and many weeds were growing in single cropping field than double cropping field. Dominant weed species in pea-rice and potato-rice cropping patterns were M. vaginalis and S. hotarui, M. vaginalis and P. distinctus. Coefficient of similarity of the cropping patterns between pea-rice and potato-rice appeared higher than single cropping system. However, pea-rice and rice-fallow cropping patterns showed low coefficient of similarity.

  • As naval warfare changes to composite warfare that includes simultaneous engagements against surface, underwater, and air enemies, performance and tactical analysis are required to respond to naval warfare. In particular, for practical analysis of composite warfare, it is necessary to study engagement simulations that can appropriately utilize the limited performance resources of the detection system. This paper proposes a DEVS (Discrete Event Systems Specifications)-based simulation model for composite warfare analysis. The proposed model contains generalized models of combat platforms and armed objects to simulate various complex warfare situations. In addition, we propose a detection performance allocation algorithm that can be applied to a detection system model, considering the characteristics of composite warfare in which missions must be performed using limited detection resources. We experimented with the effectiveness of composite warfare according to the strength of the detection system's resource allocation, the enemy force's size, and the friendly force's departure location. The simulation results showed the effect of the resource allocation function on engagement time and success. Our model will be used as an engineering basis for analyzing the tactics of warships in various complex warfare situations in the future.

A Research on the Daily Runoff Simulation for the Downstream Region of Multipurpose Dams in the Han River (漢江水系 다목적댐 下流 日 流出 模擬 硏究)

  • A daily runoff system was constructed to support decision making for water use in the downstream region of multipurpose dams in the Han River. The daily runoff system used the modified model from NWSRFS by Tabios III et al. (1986), and potential evapotranspiration was computed from Penman equation. DWOPER was used for channel routing. While the North Han River is the main river reach in the channel routing system, the South Han River and the Soyang River became tributaries. The rainfall-runoff model was calibrated and verified for five subbasins. Daily runoffs were simulated with the hydrometeorological data in 1986 and1990. The simulations were performed from April to November, and the sum of computed discharges for seven or thirty days were compared with actual releases of the downstream dams. It showed the average absolute errors of 8.7 ~31.6%. The sum of total discharges were 10% or less. While stage errors were produced by 0.5 m or less at Yoju station in the ease of simulation from April to August in 1986, the errors kept under 0.2 m since September. In the simulation for 1990, we compared two simulation results. One is produced from real internal and downstream boundary conditions and the other is one from internal and downstream boundary conditions fixed arbitrarily. The two cases showed similar results.

A Study of the Physical Asset Accounts for the Forested Land and Forest Stock (산지 및 임목의 물적 자산계정 체계에 관한 연구)

  • Although the forest accounts in Korea have been constructed partly as the research projects since the mid-1990s, the framework of the accounts has not yet been established. The objective of this study is to provide the physical asset accounts of forested land and forest stock based on the system of integrated environmental economic accounts(SEEA) by utilizing the restructured 2004 statistical yearbook of forestry in Korea. In 2004 yearbook, new variables such as logging area and volumes are added. The logging area and volumes play important roles in constructing forest accounts because the basic structure of the physical asset accounts are composed of the opening stock, closing stock, and the changes between the two. The changes between the opening and closing stock are largely explained by the harvest. In forest accounts, in general, the main elements for the increase in stock are afforestation and reforestation while the main cause for the decrease is logging. In this study we separate the logging into natural or man-made causes. In addition, other useful information for the status of forest is recorded in an annex even if it is not necessary element in the account table. According to the forested land asset accounts generated with 2003 data, the logging area is larger than the reforestation area, and the total forested land is decreased. The logging volume is 0.4% of the total stock volume, and the planed logging volume is more than 3 times larger than the damaged logging volume. The damaged logging volumes by man-made causes is about $300,000m^3$, and it is much than that of natural causes, which is about $55,000m^3$.

Cortex M3 Based Lightweight Security Protocol for Authentication and Encrypt Communication between Smart Meters and Data Concentrate Unit (스마트미터와 데이터 집중 장치간 인증 및 암호화 통신을 위한 Cortex M3 기반 경량 보안 프로토콜)

  • The existing smart grid device authentication system is concentrated on DCU, meter reading FEP and MDMS, and the authentication system for smart meters is not established. Although some cryptographic chips have been developed at present, it is difficult to complete the PKI authentication scheme because it is at the low level of simple encryption. Unlike existing power grids, smart grids are based on open two-way communication, increasing the risk of accidents as information security vulnerabilities increase. However, PKI is difficult to apply to smart meters, and there is a possibility of accidents such as system shutdown by sending manipulated packets and sending false information to the operating system. Issuing an existing PKI certificate to smart meters with high hardware constraints makes authentication and certificate renewal difficult, so an ultra-lightweight password authentication protocol that can operate even on the poor performance of smart meters (such as non-IP networks, processors, memory, and storage space) was designed and implemented. As a result of the experiment, lightweight cryptographic authentication protocol was able to be executed quickly in the Cortex-M3 environment, and it is expected that it will help to prepare a more secure authentication system in the smart grid industry.

  • Mudskipper로 알려진 망둑어과 어류인 말뚝망둑어 Periophthalmus modestus는 구나 기수역의 갯벌바닥에 서식하면서 간조시에는 물 밖으로 나와 육상의 갯벌을 뛰어다니거나 또는 추운 계절에는 갯벌에 굴을 파서 생활하는 amphibious habit를 갖고 있다. 말뚝망둑어와 비슷한 서식환경을 가지는 드렁허리 Monoterus albus와 Amphinous는 용존산소를 이용한 수중호흡 이외에 피부를 이용한 공기호흡(cutaneous respiration)을 병행하는 dual respiration system을 갖는 것으로 알려져 있으며 (Liem, 1967; Mittal and Munshi, 1971) 또한 쉽게 건조가 되는 연못, 농수로 또는 진흙바탕에 서식하는 Misgurnus fossilis(Jakuboski, 1958), M. anguillicauda (Park and Kim, 1999)에서도 피부를 이용한 공기호흡이 알려져 있다. 그러나 이러한 어류들의 피부구조는 말뚝망둑어 피부와 많은 차이점을 보여 주고 있는 본 조사는 말뚝망둑어의 피부의 특징을 조사하고 및 이들의 호흡체계에 대한 기초자료를 얻고자 한다.   • 이동통신 가입자는 통신망을 매우 많이 이용하면서 부단한 서비스를 요구하는 고객이므로 DCN은 고객에게 양질의 서비스를 제공할 수 있게 운용되어야 한다. 따라서 DCN 에서는 시스템 고장과 같은 이유로 통신망에 이상이 발생하지 말아야 하며, 만일 이상이 발생되었다 하더라도 신속한 복구가 이루어질 수 있도록 운용 체계가 구성되어야 한다. 본 고에서는 현재 개발되고 있는 DCN 에서 제어국을 구성하고 있는 한 서브시스템인 CCP 에서 수행되는 유지보수 기능과 이를 구현하는 과정을 보였다. 먼저 DCN 의 구조와 연관하여 제어국의 위치와 역할을 분석하고 제어국 내의 여러 서브 시스템의 기능을 살펴본 후 CCP 의 기능이 원활하게 수행될 수 있도록 CCP 의 유지 보수 기능은 어떻게 정의되어야 하는 가를 분석하고 이를 구현할 수 있는 설계 방향을 제시하였다.
