ac PDP에서의 Reset과 Address 구간에서 Negative Waveform특성에 관한 연구 (A Study of Negative Waveform in ac PDP during Reset and Address Periods)

  • A characteristic of new waveform, called a negative waveform, was studied during reset and address periods. IR distribution, black luminance and time delay were measured to compare the negative waveform with the conventional positive waveform. Based on the analysis of IR measurement, the negative waveform could accumulate more wall charges than the positive waveform. Also the black luminance of negative waveform was lower than that of positive waveform under the same bias and ramp-slope conditions. During address period, the discharge time lag was measured. The negative waveform was showed 0.25 us faster formative time lag and 0.1 us faster average time lag than those of positive waveform.

소규모 사무실공간에서 주광조건에 따른 대비효과 및 조명에너지 절약예측 (Prediction of Contrast and Lighting Energy Saivings in a Small Office Space according to Daylight Conditions)

  • Illuminance and luminous levels in a small office space due to daylight were calculated to analyze the impact of daylight on contrast and lighting energy savings. Computer simulations were performed for four blind conditions under a clear sky condition. The blind conditions significantly impacted the illuminance an4 luminance level. Visual performance scores were calculated according to the transfer function that uses absolute contrast between target and background surface. The blind condition that had 45 tilted angle toward ground provided good contrast and performance scores. Using a control algorithm of an automated daylight dimming control system lighting energy sayings were predicted. For all blind conditions minimum lighting energy was consumed.

  • Recently, Plasma Display Panel(PDP) has been in the spotlight as one of the next generation flat-panel-display device. However, it has several drawbacks like the low contrast ratio and the low luminance. In this study, a new address waveform is suggested to improve the priming effect and contrast ratio at the address period in the Address Display period Separated(ADS) method. We modified waveform, instead of a conventional waveform, to an address period, for operating on the Plasma Display Panels, which used the conventional gas [He-Ne-Xe〕. When the ramp pulse is added to the address period at the sustain electrode, it is improved on the priming effect and contrast ratio.

수직형 LED 조명의 색상 및 점멸에 따른 눈부심 주관평가 (Subjective Evaluation of Glare for Blinking and Colors of Vertical LED Lighting)

  • Currently, in South Korea, 'Light Pollution Prevention Act by Artificial Lighting' has been enforced. For advertising lighting, it is limited based on only the light-emitting luminance. Luminance is a concept related to the glare. Not only the luminance of the light source, but also glare is affected depending on some situations like blinking, luminance contrast, background illuminance. This study conducted glare subjective evaluation with brightness, color, and blinking by looking at the LED lighting box. The results showed that the glare indexes were higher about 2 times in a decrease of background illuminance from 100lx to 0lx. The glare index of R, G, B light was higher than that of white light. The average glare index of the blue light was higher about 8 times compared to 2,700K. And the blink rate had little effect on the glare, but it affected the irritation. Therefore, the glare effect of light color and blinking needs to be considered for the standard of luminous environment.

수직형 라이트파이프의 채광성능에 관한 예비평가 (Preliminary Field Test on Daylighting Performance of Perpendicular Light Pipe System)

  • The daylighting affects on the human biological cycles and physiological alterations. Daylighting is also an important element in visual comfort and it sometimes influences the quality of vision. Therefore the absence of natural light during the day brings contradictory result. To solve the problems of natural light lack and provide sufficient daylight in interior spaces, it might be necessary to apply some daylighting systems. One of these systems, light pipe system, which is simple, cheep and easily constructed, is very useful to apply for small buildings. The light pipe is simple means of directing daylighting (diffuse and direct lighting)into interior space. In order to application of light pipe system in Korea, it is necessary to optical data of light pipe system. This study aims to evaluate preliminary experiment of the daylighting environment of light pipe system. Light pipe system, that aspect ratio is 1:2(diameter and length), was installed in a windowless mock-up with $27m^2$. The mock-up model was constructed as a prototype of Korean office surface. Illuminance was measured with a Topcon IM-5 Luxmeter to evaluate the distribution of the illuminance on a floor. The indoor and outdoor illuminance and the internal/external illuminance ratio are compared to discuss with in the graphs. Luminance was measured with Radiant imaging Promertric 1400 that is digital photometer to evaluate the distribution of luminance on interior surface. The contrast of luminance is discussed with table and graphs.

  • Visual perception experiments were conducted to determine the acceptable limit of the contrast ratio of LCD TV under the watching condition. The results showed that the corresponding contrast ratio should be below 10,000:1 at the 3H(height of screen) distance in the living room environment.

  • The ramp reset driving method proposed in [1] has been widely adopted because of its stability and high contrast ratio. However, when the conventional ramp reset method is used in PDPs of higher resolution, the long required time for reset often becomes a problem. In this paper, a new driving method that requires much less reset time and that significantly improves the contrast ratio is introduced. Using this new driving method, the required time for reset could be reduced to 150us from 350us of the conventional ramp reset method, and the contrast ratio is almost infinite because the luminance of the off-cell is almost zero.

  • Mobile display는 사용자가 이동하면서 화면을 보기 때문에 주변 luminance의 변화에 따라서 contrast ratio 변화가 심하다. 특히 햇빛 아래에서는 Mobile display의 화면을 알아보기 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 주변 조도가 증가할수록 TFT LCD의 black 휘도의 변화율이 white 휘도 변화율보다 크게 작용하여 전체 contrast ratio(이하 CR)가 크게 감소함올 확인하였다. 또한, 반투과형 LCD는 반사창을 통해서 외부 빛올 반사시키기 때문에 주변 조도가 높아도 일정 수준의 CR은 유지할 수 있다. 그러나 투과형 LCD보다 CR이 낮았다. 본 논문에서는 투과형 TFT LCD에 back light 광원으로 LED를 사용하고, photo diode와 LED drive IC를 이용하여 주변 조도의 광량에 따라서 LCD의 back light LED의 휘도를 3단계 조절할 수 있는 회로를 구성하였다. 이렇게 함으로써 주변 조도에 따라 자동으로 back light 휘도 조절이 가능한 결과을 얻었다.

플라스마 디스플레이 패널에서 명실 콘트라스트 개선 (Enhancement of the Bright Room Contrast Ratio in a Plasma Display Panel)

  • 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널에서 명실콘트라스트(bright room contrast ratio: BRCR)를 개선하는 방향으로 새로운 전극구조를 설계하였다. 새로운 개념의 전극을 이용하여 블랙매트릭스 패턴의 영역을 넓힐 수 있었으며 이를 통하여 패널면의 반사휘도를 낮출 수 있었다. 제작한 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널에 대하여 방전전압, 방전효율, 휘도 등을 평가하였으며 명실콘트라스트가 크게 개선됨을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 인간시각에 대한 워터마크의 무감지성을 향상하고 워터마크를 제거하고자 하는 공격에 강인한 워터마킹 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 워터마크를 삽입할 대상의 DCT 블록에 대한 인간의 시각적인 특성을 고려하여 워터마크의 삽입 여부와 블록에 삽입될 워터마크의 위치와 강도를 적응적으로 결정한다. 워터마크될 블록을 선택하기 위하여 사용되는 특징은 텍스쳐, 휘도, 대비이다. 본 논문은 제안된 방법의 성능을 평가하기 위하여 절단, 영상강화, 저주파 필터링, PEG 압축의 영상처리 공격에 대한 실험결과를 보인다.
