엉덩관절 각도에 따른 PNF 하지굴곡패턴운동이 체간 근활성도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of PNF Leg Flexion Patterns according to the Hip Joint Angle on EMG Activity of the Trunk)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) leg flexion patterns according to the hip joint angle on electromyographic activity of the trunk. Methods : Thirty healthy adults volunteered to participate in this study. Subjects were required to complete following the PNF leg flexion patterns on three different hip joint flexion $30^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$. An surface electromyogram (SEMG) was used to record the electromyographic activities of the trunk muscle in rectus abdominis, internal oblique abdominal, external oblique abdominal, erector spinae. The data were analyzed using the a repeated measures of one-way ANOVA with post-hoc Bonferroni's correction. Result : The results of this study are summarized as follows: The EMG activities of internal abdominal oblique and elector spinae muscle showed a statistically significant difference (p<.05). Conclusion : The result show that electromyographic activity of the trunk muscles significantly changed on PNF leg flexion patterns with difference hip joint angle. Therefore, this study used to basis for the intervention of the trunk muscle strength and stabilization.

드롭 착지 동작 시 탄성 섬유 바지 착용이 충격력과 근육 활동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Wearing Spandex Pants on Impact Forces and Muscle Activities during Drop Landing)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 드롭 착지 동작 시 탄성 섬유 바지 착용이 충격력과 근육 활동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 분석하는데 있다. 10명의 피험자를 대상으로 7쌍의 표면전극을 대퇴직근, 내측광근, 외측광근, 대퇴이두근, 전경골근, 내측비복근, 외측비복근에 부착하고 탄성 바지와 일반 바지를 무작위로 착용한 상태로 플랫폼에서 드롭 랜딩하였고 각 변인에 대해 대응표본 t-검증을 실시하여 통계적 유의차를 밝혔다(p< .05). 착지 구간 동안 전경골근, 대퇴이두근, 내측비복근의 평균적분 근전도치가 일반바지 착용 시 유의하게 감소되었다. 대퇴직근을 제외한 모든 근육에서 최대적분 근전도가 탄성바지 착용 집단이 높게 나타났다. 탄성바지 착용 시 신체 하지분절의 감속과 안정을 유지하기 위한 근육 동원 능력이 높아져 이러한 현상이 발생되어진 것으로 사료된다. 탄성바지 착용이 충격력과 부하율의 감소에 통계적으로 유의한 결과를 발생시키지 못하였다. 본 연구에서 사용된 탄성바지는 피험자의 하지 둘레에 적합하게 제작되어진 바지가 아니기 때문에 탄성과 압축력이 이상적으로 발생되지 못한 것으로 판단된다.

Differences in Self-Esteem, Body Composition and Lower Extremity Muscle Strength based on The Type of Physical Labor in Middle-Aged Women in Their 50s

  • This study was to find out the differences in self-esteem, body composition, and muscle strength of middle-aged women, and nine physical labor groups were selected as beautification workers at D University in Cheonan, and a total of 17 were selected as non-physical labor groups were 8 full-time housewives living in Cheonan. After selecting the subjects, the subjects arrived 30 minutes before the start of the experiment and completed the self-esteem questionnaire. After taking the stability, the measurement was carried out in the order of body composition, grip strength, and isokinetic muscle function, and the independent sample t-test was conducted. First, middle-aged women's self-esteem according to the type of physical labor was high in the physical labor group in relation to others among the sub-factors. Second, there was no significant difference in body composition according to the physical labor patterns of middle-aged women. Third, there was no significant difference in lower limb isokinetic muscular strength according to the types of physical labor of middle-aged women. Third, there was no significant difference in lower limb isokinetic muscular strength according to the types of physical labor of middle-aged women. The self-esteem according to physical labor is caused by the sense of belonging in the workplace, and the difference between body composition and muscular strength is insignificant. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce a physical activity program to promote self-esteem due to aging and prevent physical deterioration regardless of occupation.

교각운동시 지지면의 차이가 체간 및 하지의 근 활성도 (Proprioceptive Motor Control on Trunk and Lower Extremity Muscle Activity)

  • 본 연구는 교각운동시 불안정한 지지면과 안정적인 지지면을 제공하여 체간 및 하지의 근 활성도의 변화를 알아보고자 하였다. 이 연구의 대상자는 20대 남, 여 14명이었다. 실험방법은 일반적 교각자세와 다이나믹 에어쿠션을 이용한 교각자세를 실시한 후에 무선 8채널 표면근전도 검사기를 이용하여 체간부의 척추기립근, 복직근, 대퇴의 대퇴직근, 외측 슬괵근, 하퇴부의 전경골근, 비복근 외측두에서 근활성 정도를 측정하였다. 체간부의 척추 기립근, 대퇴이두근, 가자미근은 불안정한 지지면에서 근활성도가 높게 나타났다(p<.05). 따라서, 교각운동에서 불안정한 지지면의 제공은 신체의 배측에 위치한 근육의 활성화를 나타내어, 교각운동시 지지면의 안정성의 변화만으로도근육활성도의 변화가 가능함을 알 수 있었다.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was investigated to find the approach in the PNF and TC for frail elder Method : This is a literature study with books, articles, seminal note and books for PNF and TC international course. Result : Neural mechanisms contribute significantly to the gains that occur in the range of motion about a joint with stretching exercises. The participation in a stretch-training program decreases tonic reflex activity and increases flexibility and decreases in force production and muscle activation. Also the stretching-induced decreases may be due to a central nervous system inhibitory mechanism. PNF stretch techniques can increase ROM in older adults. These results may differ from those of studies performed with younger populations because of age-related physiologic changes. TC exercise improves balance control and muscle strength and were associated with reorganized lower extremity neuromuscular patterns. Conclusions : The stretch training program of the PNF and TC contribute to increase the balance and coordination for frail elder. Therefore, The frail elder prevent falling. Further study, The PNF and TC be introduced as the new therapeutic intervention for frail elder.

The effects of the 4-weeks visual biofeedback training in individuals with hyperextended knee

  • 본 연구의 목적은 4주 동안의 시각 바이오피드백 훈련이 무릎관절 각도와 하지 근활성도에 미치는 영향을 조사하는 것이다. 15명의 과도한 무릎 젖힘을 가진 자원자가 본 연구에 참가하였다. 과도한 무릎 젖힘을 향상시키기 위해 4주 동안의 시각 바이오피드백 훈련을 사용하였다. 이 훈련은 발바닥의 앞 체중부하와 뒤 체중부하 사이의 균형을 유지하는 운동이다. 시각 바이오피드백 훈련 후, 무릎 관절 각도는 유의하게 증가하였으며, 앞정강근의 근전도는 유의하게 감소하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 발바닥 압력 분산의 정보를 이용한 시각 바이오피드백 훈련은 과도한 무릎 젖힘에 대하여 치료효과가 있음을 확인하였다.

Effects of 8-week resistance exercise on gait-related isokinetic muscle function in males by age

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of 8 weeks of resistance exercise on gait-related abilities and the differences in age groups to provide reference materials for application of training by age group. Subjects in their 30s, 40s, and 50s were recruited and subjected to a lower extremity exercise, in which the intensity gradually increased three times a week for eight weeks. The gait-related variables, torque at 0.18 sec, acceleration time, and torque at 30°, were assessed through isokinetic tests before and after the 8-week training. The torque at 0.18 sec showed a significant increase in the 50s group. There was no significant difference in acceleration time according to time and group. The torque at 30° showed a significant increase in the 30s group. In conclusion, 8 weeks resistance training can increase neuromuscular activity in adults in their 50s group, and changes in training variables are needed to increase torque at 30° that affects knee stabilization in adults over 40s group.

고유수용성 신경근 촉진법의 체간 패턴 훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 하지근 활성도와 정적 균형에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Trunk Pattern Training in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation on Muscle Activity of Lower extremity and Static Balance in Stroke Patients)

  • 본 연구는 뇌졸중 환자에게 고유수용성 신경근 촉진법의 체간 패턴 훈련과 체중 이동 훈련이 하지 근 활성도와 정적 균형 능력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위하여 실시하였다. 본 연구에는 총 20명의 뇌졸중 환자가 참여하였으며, 대상자들은 무작위 추출법으로 고유수용성 신경근 촉진법의 체간 패턴 훈련군 10명과 체중 이동 훈련군 10명으로 각각 배정되었다. 모든 대상자들은 전통적 물리치료를 6주 동안 주 5회, 하루 30분씩 시행하였으며, 고유수용성 신경근 촉진법의 체간 패턴 훈련과 체중 이동 훈련을 하루에 20분씩 각각 추가적으로 실시하였다. 연구 결과 고유수용성 신경근 촉진법의 체간 패턴 훈련이 체중 이동 훈련에 비해 마비측 하지의 대퇴직근, 비복근의 활성도와 정적 균형 능력에서 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<.05). 이것으로 고유수용성 신경근 촉진법의 체간 패턴 훈련이 체중 이동 훈련에 비해 뇌졸중 환자의 회복에 효과적이었다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 고유수용성 신경근 촉진법의 체간 패턴훈련은 뇌졸중 환자에게 적용 가능한 유익한 훈련이 될 수 있을 것이다.

Comparison of Both Legs EMG Symmetry during Over-Ground Walking and Stair Walking in Stroke Patients

  • Purpose: Gait is the most basic element when evaluating the quality of life with activities of daily living under ordinary life circumstances. Symmetrical use of the lower extremities requires complicated coordination of all limbs. Thus, this study examined asymmetry of muscle activity quadriceps femoris and tibialis anterior as a baseline for training during over-ground walking and stair walking of stroke patients. Methods: Subjects were 14 stroke patients included as one experimental group. Gait speed used in this study was determined by the subject. Low extremity paretic and non-paretic EMG was compared using the surface EMG system. Results: The low extremity EMG difference was statistically significant during over-ground walking and stair walking (p<0.05). The result of low extremity EMG substituted symmetry ratio formula was compared to EMG symmetry ratio in both legs during over-ground walking and stair walking. The average symmetry ratio of quadriceps femoris during over-ground walking was 0.65, and average symmetry ratio of quadriceps femoris during stair walking was 0.47, with significant difference (p<0.05). Conclusion: EMG data was higher in stair walking than over-ground walking. However, in the comparison of symmetry ratio, asymmetric EMG of quadriceps femoris was significantly increased during stair walking. These findings suggested that application of stair walking for strengthening of both legs can be positive, but the key factor is maintaining asymmetrical posture of both legs. Therefore, physical therapists should make an effort to reduce asymmetry of quadriceps femoris power during stair walking by stroke patients.

Effect of Contralateral Hip Adduction on Activity of Lumbar Stabilizers and Pelvic Lateral Tilting During Hip Abduction in Side-Lying

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of contralateral hip adduction (CHA) on the muscle activity of lumbar stabilizers and the angle of pelvic lateral tilting during hip abduction in side lying. Twenty healthy male subjects with no medical history of lower extremity or lumbar spine disorders were recruited for the study. Subjects randomly performed preferred hip abduction (PHA) and hip abduction with contralateral hip adduction in side lying. The muscle activities of the dominant side rectus abdominis, external oblique, internal oblique, quadratus lumborum, gluteus medius, and non-dominant side hip adductor longus were measured during PHA and CHA by using a surface electromyography (EMG) system. Pelvic lateral tilting motion was measured by using a three-dimensional motion analysis system. Data on EMG and pelvic motion were collected at the same time during PHA and CHA. A paired t-test was used to compare EMG activity and the angle of pelvic lateral tilting in the two exercises. The study found that the EMG activities of all muscles were more increased significantly in CHA than PHA condition. The angle of pelvic lateral tilting was more decreased significantly in CHA than PHA condition. These findings suggest that CHA could be recommended as a hip abduction exercise for activating lumbar stabilizers and decreasing compensatory pelvic lateral tilting motion.
