YSZ (Yttria-stabilized zirconia) is a ceramic material that is used for electronic and structural materials due to its excellent mechanical properties and specific electrical characteristics according to the Yttrium addition. Hydrothermal synthesis has several advantages such as fine particle size, uniform crystalline phase, fast reaction time, low process temperature and good dispersion condition. In order to synthesize YSZ nanoparticles with high crystallinity, hydrothermal synthesis was performed at various concentrations of NaOH. The hydrothermal process was held at a low temperature ($100^{\circ}C$), with a short process time (2,4,8 hours); the acidity or alkalinity of solution was controlled in a range of pH 2~12 by addition of NaOH. The optimum condition was found to be pH 12, at which high solubility levels of Y(OH) and Zr(OH) were reported. The synthesized nano powder showed high crystallinity and homogenous composition, and uniform particle size of about 10 nm.

Graphene has recently attracted significant attention because of its unique optical and electrical properties. For practical device applications, special attention has to be paid to the synthesis of high-quality graphene on large-area substrates. Graphene has been synthesized by eloborated mechanical exfoliation of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite, chemical reduction of exfoliated grahene oxide, thermal decomposition of silicon carbide, and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) on Ni or Cu substrates. Among these techniques, CVD is superior to the others from the perspective of technological applications because of its possibility to produce a large size graphene. PECVD has been demonstrated to be successful in synthesizing various carbon nanostructures, such as carbon nanotubes and nanosheets. Compared with thermal CVD, PECVD possesses a unique advantage of additional high-density reactive gas atoms and radicals, facilitating low-temperature, rapid, and controllable synthesis. In the current study, we report results in synthesizing of high-quality graphene films on a Ni films at low temperature. Controllable synthesis of quality graphene on Cu foil through inductively-coupled plasma CVD (ICPCVD), in which the surface chemistry is significantly different from that of conventional thermal CVD, was also discussed.
Analysis of geological data, relating to occurrence and formation of diamonds as well as host rocks, inclined author to have different outlook on the diamond genesis and to establish a proposition on their formation at pneumatolytic-hydrothermal conditions near superficial Earth zones. Based on that theoretical foundations and experimental works, the first low-pressure and low-temperature hydrothermal diamond synthesis from water solution in pressure autoclave was executed. As a result, the natural diamond seed crystal grew bigger ad coupling of the synthetic diamond single-crystalline grains were obtained. SEM documentation proofs that parallely paragenetic crystallization of quartz and diamond, and nucleation of new octahedral diamond crystals brush take place on the seed crystal surface. Forecast of none times growth of diamond industrial application at 2000 and seventeen times at 2010 with reference to 1995, needs technology of large and pure single-crystals diamond synthesis. Growth of the stable and destressed diamond single-crystals in the pseudo-metastable diamond plot, may be realized with processes going through the long time and with participation of free radicals catalysts admixtures only. Sol-gel colloidal processes are an example of environment which form stable crystals in thermodynamically unstable conditions through a long time. Paper critically discusses a whole way of studies on the diamond synthesis, from high-pressure and high-temperature processes through chemical vapour deposition up to hydrothermal experiments.
Tungsten carbide powder was synthesized by SHS (self-propagating high-temperature synthesis). Except $WO_{3}$, each concentration of raw material ($WO_{3},\;Mg,\;NaCl,\;Na_{2}CO_{3},\;C$) was investigated. Final product was characterized by XRD and SEM. X-ray data demonstrated that the $NaCl+Na_{2}CO_{3}$ combined mixture has superiority in the WC formation process. Single phase and submicrometer WC powder was synthesized at the temperature below $1600^{\circ}C$. The role of sodium salts in combustion process was discussed, and chemical mechanism of WC formation was proposed. WC powder prepared by salt-assisted combustion synthesis has a size $0.2{\sim}3\;{\mu}m$ and low agglomeration degree.
Synthesis of aluminium nitride has been studied by using the starting materials such as-alumina which was prepared at the lowest temperature from AlO(OH), anhydrous aluminium chloride and metallic aluminium powders. For the synthesis of aluminium nitride, the reaction temperature was carefully controlled and the reaction conditions were determined and discussed with the results. Reaction of metallic aluminium powder and nitrogen gas was taken place at relatively low temperature. The reaction parameters were determined kinetically.
In this study (Ba1-xPbx)TiO3 was synthesized by modified oxalate process in order to prevent vaporization of PbO through low temperature synthesis climinate Cl ion reproducibly substitute Pb for by and uniformly distribute ion (Ba1-xPbx)TiO3 was synthesized by coprecipitation of lead acetate barium acetate and ammonium titanyl oxalate have been used as starting materials. The substitution of Pb for Ba was reproducibly possible synthetic temperature of perovskite structure becomes lowed as the Pb concentration increases and fine partic-les (specific surface are :7.2 cm2/g) were obtained, BaTiO3 powders calcined at 90$0^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours were cubic from in XRD analysis and as Pb content was increases evident split of tetragonal peaks could be observed The optimum conditions to synthesize (Ba,Pb)TiO3 powder are the followings ; synthesis temperature (5$^{\circ}C$)

To find out the effect of low temperature on the regulation of tomato chloroplast genes, the optimization of the system in chloroplast protein synthesis and the identification of the changes in chloroplast protein synthesis induced by chilling were studied. Incorporation reaction occurred rapidly at the first 30 minutes and was constantly maintained after 60 minutes. A broad optimal temperature on protein synthesis was found around 20 to $30^{\circ}C$. No difference was shown in the chloroplast protein synthesis under high light intensity (1600 ${\mu}E/m^2/s$) as well as under low light intensity (400 ${\mu}E/m^2/s$) even darkness. $K^+$, $Mg^{++}$ and ATP at an optimal concentration act as an activator, while DTT, chloramphenicol, cycloheximide, $Ca^{++}$ and inorganic phosphate act as an inhibitor in the chloroplast protein synthesis. Synthesis of 15, 55 and 60 kd chloroplast encoded stromal proteins and 18, 24, 33 and 55 kd chloroplast encoded thylakoid membrane proteins were reduced by chilling, while 17 kd chloroplast encoded stromal protein and 16 kd chloroplast encoded thylakoid membrane protein was induced by chilling. It was expected that the 55 kd stromal protein would be the large subunit of rubisco and the 33 kd thylakoid membrane protein would be the D1 protein which was drastically reduced by chilling.
It was realized that the nucleation rate in the synthesis of M-ZSM-5 using various alkali cations such as $Li^+$, $Na^+$, $K^+$ and $Cs^+$ at low temperature and atmospheric pressure was decreased in the order of $Na^+>K^+>Li^+>Cs^+$. Unlike conventional synthesis method at high temperature and pressure, the results showed that at low temperature and atmospheric pressure, the higher the nucleation rate is, the larger the crystal size of M-ZSM-5 obtained ; that is, the crystal size in the order of $K^+>Na^+>Cs^+>Li^+$. In addition, it also suggests that regardless of alkali cations to be used, the current synthesis method can produce M-ZSM-5 with BET surface area greater than $300m^2/g$ within 52hrs. of reaction time, in particular greater than $400m^2/g$ within 32hrs, for $Na^+$ cation.
Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction converts syngas (mixture of CO and H2) to valuable hydrocarbon products. Simulation of low temperature Fischer -Tropsch Synthesis reaction and heat transfer at intensified process condition using catalyst filled single and multichannel microchannel reactor is considered. Single channel model simulation indicated potential for process intensification (higher GHSV of $30000hr^{-1}$ in presence of theoretical Cobalt based super-active catalyst) while still achieving CO conversion greater than ~65% and $C_{5+}$ selectivity greater than ~74%. Conjugate heat transfer simulation with multichannel reactor block models considering three different combinations of reactor configuration and coolant type predicted ${\Delta}T_{max}$ equal to 23 K for cross-flow configuration with wall boiling coolant, 15 K for co-current flow configuration with subcooled coolant, and 13 K for co-current flow configuration with wall boiling coolant. In the range of temperature maintained (498 - 521 K), chain growth probability calculated is desirable for low-temperature Fisher-Tropsch Synthesis.
The involvement of antifreeze proteins (AFPs; type I and III) in the germination of low temperature-treated petunia seeds (cv. 'Mirage Rose') was investigated. The addition of AFPs (300 or 500 ㎍/l) in low-temperature treatment significantly promoted the germination of seeds compared with that in which AFPs were not added. Among all treatments, treatment with AFP I added at 300 ㎍/l showed the highest germination percentage and improved plant growth. The expression levels of antioxidant-related genes such as superoxide dismutase, peroxidase, and proline synthesis were associated with the germination of low temperature-treated seeds. Overall, this study demonstrated that AFP I may potentially function as a cold-protective agent for the germination of low temperature-treated seeds.
