A Study on Manufacture of Phosphor Screen for Video Phone Tube (Video Phone Tube用 형광박의 제조에 관한 연구)

  • The video phone tube (VPT) of monochrome CRT have utilized home door phone, fish-finder and the rear watch monitors. Phosphor screen formation is made by electrodeposition spin coating and thermal transfer methods etc. Recently, thermal transfer method was developed, as a novel method, to form the phosphor surface for mnonchrom VPT. This method have advantages of simple process, automatization, clean environment, saving raw material and saving running-cost. In this study, it was developed new phosphor of VPT, and tested about phosphor paste properties. An experimental studies of VPT as a new phosphor property and improved VPT's manufacturing process shortening and brightness. As thermal transper method is a paste processing, it is important that rheology of phosphor effects on the formation of phosphor screen. Hence this paper was studied rheology properties of phosphor paste and the formation of phosphor screen had looked most suitable condition. Experimented thermal separation properties of low calcination temperature resin and the result analyzed comparison by TGA. Also, examined calcination properties to reduce remaining binder phosphor.

Line-profile Formula in the Carbon Nanotubes by Electron Spin Resonance

  • The line-width of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) was studied as a function of the temperature at a frequency of 9.49 GHz in the presence of external electromagnetic radiation. The relative frequency dependence of the absorption power is obtained with the projection operator technique (POT) proposed by Kawabata. The line-width increased as the temperature increased in the high-temperature region (T>200 K). The scattering is little affected in the low-temperature region (T<200 K) because there is no correlation between the resonance field and the Fermi-Dirac distribution function. Thus, the present technique is considered to be more convenient to explain the resonant system as in the case of other optical transition problems.

  • The organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) based on fluorescence have low efficiencies due to the requirement of spin-symmetry conservation. By using the phosphorescent material, the internal quantum efficiency can reach 100 %, compared to 25 % in the case of the fluorescent material. Thus, the phosphorescent OLEDs have recently been extensively studied and showed higher internal quantum efficiencies then the conventional OLEDs. In this study, we investigated the characteristics of the phosphorescent OLEDs, with the green emitting phosphor, Ir(ppy)$_3$ (tris(2-phenylpyridine)iridium). The devices with a structure of ITO/TPD/Ir(PPy)$_3$ doped in the host material/BCP/Alq$_3$/Li:Al/Al were fabricated, and its electrical and optical characteristics were studied. By changing the doping concentration of Ir(PPy)$_3$ and the host materials, we fabricated several devices and investigated the device characteristics.

  • We were evaluated from organic insulator of low dielectric constants, This organic insulator material is not only conservate TFT chanel but also used to insulator material to data line and pixel ITO electrod. This organic insulator material is possessed high platness and we can coat by Spin-On-Glass type. And we can make high aperature device because minimized black matrix width from coupling cap to data line and pixel ITO electrod, This evaluation with acryl over coat and PFCB(perflorecyclobutine) and we got good results.

  • Organic/organic and organic/inorganic multilayer films composed of organic polyelectrolytes (PE) and inorganic nanoparticles/platelets were prepared from the layer-by-layer (LbL) deposition using both spinning and dipping. The difference in both LbL methods is quantitatively compared in terms of internal layer ordering and physical properties of the multilayered films. Additionally, we suggest that the patterned multilayer films can be easily prepared by the combination of the spin SA and the lift-off method. Freestanding films were also prepared with the LbL deposition on low energy substrates, which allows the detailed analysis of composition within the films. Other LbL thin films prepared with block copolymer micelles will be discussed.

Investigation of a New Red-Emitting, Eu3+-Activated MgAl2O4 Phosphor

  • MgAl2O4:Eu3+ red-light emitting powder phosphor was prepared at temperature as low as 500 oC within a few minutes by using the combustion route. The prepared powder was characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and Fourier-transform infrared spectrometry. The luminescence of Eu3+-activated MgAl2O4 shows a strong red emission dominant peak around 611 nm, which can be attributed to the 5D0-7F2 transition of Eu3+ ions from the synthesized phosphor particles under excitation (394 nm). Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements at the X-band showed that no signal could be attributed to Eu2+ ions in MgAl2O4.

  • Nanoparticles-induced vertical alignment (NIVA) in the liquid crystal (LC) devices was observed and has been applied successfully on fabricating the hybrid-aligned nematic LC cells and guest-host LC cells. In this talk, we will discuss the characteristics of the electric and optical properties of NIVA-LC cells with different dopant concentrations and demonstrate that nanoparticles can be spin-coated on the substrate at a low temperature.

Low temperature UV-assisted rapid thermal processing of (Ba,Sr)$TiO_3$ thin films (저온에서 (Ba,Sr)$TiO_3$ 박막의 UV를 이용한 RTP에 관한 연구)

  • Chemically homogeneous $Ba_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}TiO_3$ (BST) sols were synthesized using barium acetate, strontium acetate, and titanium isoproxide as starting materials. BST thin films of thickness 340 nm were deposited on Pt/$TiO_2/SiO_2$/Si and alumina substrates using spin coating method. The technique used for the processing of these films was Ultraviolet (UV) sol-gel photoannealing, using phto-sensitivity precursor solutions and UV-assisted rapid thermal processing(UV-RTP). The crystallization behaviour of the BST sols and thin films was studied by differential thermal analysis (DTA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Variation of permittivity and dielectric loss were measured in LCR-meter, model HP 4394A.

A Locality-Aware Write Filter Cache for Energy Reduction of STTRAM-Based L1 Data Cache

  • Thanks to superior leakage energy efficiency compared to SRAM cells, STTRAM cells are considered as a promising alternative for a memory element in on-chip caches. However, the main disadvantage of STTRAM cells is high write energy and latency. In this paper, we propose a low-cost write filter (WF) cache which resides between the load/store queue and STTRAM-based L1 data cache. To maximize efficiency of the WF cache, the line allocation and access policies are optimized for reducing energy consumption of STTRAM-based L1 data cache. By efficiently filtering the write operations in the STTRAM-based L1 data cache, our proposed WF cache reduces energy consumption of the STTRAM-based L1 data cache by up to 43.0% compared to the case without the WF cache. In addition, thanks to the fast hit latency of the WF cache, it slightly improves performance by 0.2%.

  • We have developed the gear sound recognition system of mechanical timer. A mechancal timer is superior in endurance to electronic timer. So it is reliable under severe operating environment. It is putting together several kind of gears. Therefore when the timer operates, it emits mechanical sound of gears. We have chosen a microphone to detect the gear sound. A microphone is more efficient and convenient than other sensors. Because it is of low price and non-contact type sensor. For ease of measurement we designed real-time processing software based on graphical user interface.
