  • Lightweight ciphers are increasingly employed in cryptography because of the high demand for secure data transmission in wireless sensor network, embedded devices, and Internet of Things. The PRESENT algorithm as an ultralightweight block cipher provides better solution for secure hardware cryptography with low power consumption and minimum resource. This study generates the key using key rotation and substitution method, which contains key rotation, key switching, and binary-coded decimal-based key generation used in image encryption. The key rotation and substitution-based PRESENT architecture is proposed to increase security level for data stream and randomness in cipher through providing high resistance to attacks. Lookup table is used to design the key scheduling module, thus reducing the area of architecture. Field-programmable gate array (FPGA) performances are evaluated for the proposed and conventional methods. In Virtex 6 device, the proposed key rotation and substitution PRESENT architecture occupied 72 lookup tables, 65 flip flops, and 35 slices which are comparably less to the existing architecture.

  • In this study, we propose a low-noise transceiver for 10GHz motion sensor. The transceiver presented here has a circuit(Hittite HMC908LC5) that is composed of a two way-$0^{\circ}$ power splitter(the 1:2 block) and a $90^{\circ}$ Hybrid. The noise reduction circuit utilizes an LNA followed by an image reject mixer which is driven by an LO buffer amplifier. A modeling and analysis have been pursued using CST MWS. A prototype sensor was manufactured to measure the performance and experimental results show that the proposed sensor is good enough to use for a accurate motion sensor.

  • In this paper, we studied a system that can efficiently build security management for single-person households using Arduino, ESP32-CAM and PIR sensors, and proposed an Android app with an internet connection. The ESP32-CAM is an Arduino compatible board that supports both Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cameras using an ESP32-based processor. The PCB on-board antenna may be used independently, and the sensitivity may be expanded by separately connecting the external antenna. This system has implemented an Arduino-based Unauthorized intrusion system that can significantly help prevent crimes in single-person households using the combination of PIR sensors, Arduino devices, and smartphones. unauthorized intrusion system, showing the connection between Arduino Uno and ESP32-CAM and with smartphone applications. Recently, if daily quarantine is underway around us and it is necessary to verify the identity of visitors, it is expected that it will help maintain a safety net if this system is applied for the purpose of facial recognition and restricting some access. This technology is widely used to verify that the characters in the two images entered into the system are the same or to determine who the characters in the images are most similar to among those previously stored in the internal database. There is an advantage that it may be implemented in a low-power, low-cost environment through image recognition, comparison, feature point extraction, and comparison.

  • Output Characteristics of the spaceborn image sensor such as infrared(IR) sensor are varied according to time elapses and sensor repetition on/off operation. As a result, the quality of IR sensor image is decreased. Therefore, spaceborne image sensor require a periodic calibration using a black body system by correcting a non-uniformity of the sensor. In this paper, we proposed a MEMS-based black body system that can implement the high temperature uniformity at various standard temperatures ranging from low to high temperature and easily estimate the representative surface temperature. In addition, it has advantages lightweight, low-power and high accuracy. The feasibility of the proposed MEMS-based black body system was verified through the thermal analysis.

  • This paper propose implementation method of SoC system for efficient depth image segmentation. SoC systems are combined platform in the form of the Software and Hardware IP. In order to perform effectively, the user to determine the operation of the configuration of each part. In this paper, we implemented a segmentation of depth images taken by the infrared sensor at APU of SoC system. The proposed method efficiently implements high performance and low power in SoC system. Proposed method that using software parts of SoC system is capable to use at several depth image processing systems.

  • Security has become one of the most important requirements for various devices for multi-sensor based embedded systems. The AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) algorithm is widely used for security, however, it requires high computing power. In order to reduce the CPU power for the data encryption of images, we propose a new image encryption module using hardware memoization, which can reuse previously generated data. However, as image pixel data are slightly different each other, the reuse rate of the simple memoization system is low. Therefore, we further apply an approximate concept to the memoization system to have a higher reuse rate by sacrificing quality. With the novel technique, the throughput can be highly improved by 23.98% with 14.88% energy savings with image quality loss minimization.

  • As the accuracy of digital photogrammetry is restricted by the resolution of image to be used, it is axiomatic that the resolution of image should be improved. As for the method to constitute hardware with CCD sensor that capacity was expanded or the method to acquire the image of high resolution by deciding the quantity of sub-pixel in advance through moving sensor, the price is expensive. This study tries to enhance the resolution of low resolution image by acquiring the image with the digital camera that the price is cheap and deciding shifts and rotations through matching multiple digital image by means of least square method. As the result of study, the resolution of digital image was improved greatly. So, not only the digital photogrammetry which has the competitive power of price economically is possible in the future but also the application is expected widely.

  • This paper presents issues of display hardware architecture, relating to memory, display driver IC architecture, and chip-to-chip interface. To achieve a low power and low cost mobile phone, not only the display architecture must be carefully selected, but also the driver-ICs optimized to accommodate the different modes of operation found in typical handheld devices. The technique of forming a photo sensor in each pixel using TFT and display module architecture are developed to add multi functions in display such as fingerprint recognition, image scanning, and integrated touch screen. Detailed architectures of IC partitioning, high-speed serial interface, D/A converter, and multi functions such as fingerprint recognition and image scanning using photo sensors are important to a power optimized system.

  • In this paper, we propose a design technique which replaces logic transistors of 1.2V with medium-voltage transistors of 3.3V having small off-leakage current in repetitive block circuits where speed is not an issue, to implement a low-power eFuse OTP memory IP in the stand-by state. In addition, we use dual-port eFuse cells reducing operational current dissipation by reducing capacitances parasitic to RWL (Read word-line) and BL (Bit-line) in the read mode. Furthermore, we propose an equivalent circuit for simulating program power injected to an eFuse from a program voltage. The layout size of the designed 512-bit eFuse OTP memory IP with a 90nm CMOS image sensor process is $342{\mu}m{\times}236{\mu}m$. It is confirmed by measurement experiments on 42 samples with a program voltage of 5V that we get a good result having 97.6 percent of program yield. Also, the minimal operational supply voltage is measured well to be 0.9V.

  • In this paper, we propose the development of a Small $360^{\circ}$ Oral Scanner embedded board. The proposed small $360^{\circ}$ oral scanner embedded board consists of image level and transfer method changing part FPGA part, memory part and FIFO to USB transfer part. The image level and transmission mode change unit divides the MIPI format oral image received through the small $360^{\circ}$ oral cavity image sensor and the image sensor into low power signal mode and high speed signal mode and distributes them to the port and transfers the level shift to the FPGA unit. The FPGA unit performs functions such as $360^{\circ}$ image distortion correction, image correction, image processing, and image compression. In the FIFO to USB transfer section, the RAW data transferred through the FIFO in the FPGA is transferred to the PC using USB 3.0, USB 3.1, etc. using the transceiver chip. In order to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed small $360^{\circ}$ oral scanner embedded board, it has been tested by an authorized testing institute. As a result, the frame rate per second is over 60 fps and the data transfer rate is 4.99 Gb/second
