  • In the paper, we propose a design method and process of a hybrid V2X communication module that combines WAVE communication, LTE-V2X communication, and legacy LTE communication in evaluating vehicle V2X electromagnetic compatibility. C-ITS is suitable for safety service applications due to its low latency, and legacy LTE is suitable for applications such as traffic information and infotainment due to its high latency and high capacity. In order to evaluate the V2X communication system, the evaluation equipment must have communication performance of the same level or higher. The main design contents presented in this paper will be applied to the implementation of a hybrid V2X communication module for electromagnetic compatibility evaluation.

  • Most of routing schemes that protect the source's location from a malicious attacker usually make use of a path of a long length per message for the sake of lengthening the safety period. The biggest problem to such approaches is taking a very long latency in transferring messages to the destination. In this paper we show the problem to find the least-cost single path that is enough to keep the source-location always secure from the attacker, provided that it is used for the delivery of a set of messages given in priori, is NP-complete. Consequently we propose a routing protocol GSLP-w(GPSR-based Source-Location Privacy with crew size co) that is a trade-off between two extreme approaches. The advantage of GSLP-co lies in its enhanced safety period for the source and its lowered delivery latency in messaging. We consider NSP(Normalized Sefety Period) and NDL(Normalized Delivery Latency), measured in terms of the least number of hops to the destination, to achieve tangible interpretation of the results. We ran a simulation to confirm our claim by generating 100 topologies of 50,000 nodes with the average number of neighbors being 8. The results show that GSLP-$\omega$ provides more enhanced NSP compared to other protocols GSLP, an earlier version of GSLP-$\omega$, and PR-SP(Phantom Routing - Single Path), the most notable existing protocol for the source-location privacy, and less NDL than that of GSLP but more than that of PR-SP.

  • Wireless mesh networks have been widely studied as the next generation technology to solve the problems of conventional wireless networks. Particularly, Mobile WiMAX based wireless mesh networks are noticed due to many advantages. Mobile WiMAX standard provides two kinds of layer-3 handover schemes: Mobile IP and Proxy Mobile IP based handover schemes. MIP based handover scheme has a problem in that it incurs the long handover latency because mobile nodes generate a lot of handover messages. On the other hand, PMIP based handover scheme decreases the handover latency by reducing the number of handover messages, because mobile nodes do not participate in handover procedure. Therefore, layer-3 handover for Mobile WiMAX should be designed based on PMIP. However, conventional PMIP based handover still has latency overhead, because of many message exchanges between PBU and PBA after completing the layer-2 handover. Hence, in this paper, we propose a fast layer-3 handover scheme that achieves the lower handover latency for Mobile WiMAX based wireless mesh networks. Proposed scheme has advantages in terms of handover latency. Simulation results show that proposed scheme achieves low handover latency during the layer-3 handover.

  • Recently, a lossless non-successive interference cancellation (SIC) non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) implementation has been proposed. Such lossless NOMA without SIC is achieved via correlated superposition coding (SC), in comparison with conventional independent SC. However, only high-correlated SC was investigated in the lossless non-SIC NOMA implementation. Thus, this paper investigates low-correlated SC, especially a lossless interval, owing to low-correlation between signals. First, for the low-correlated SC scheme, we derive the closed-form expressions for the two roots with which the lossless interval is defined. Then, simulations demonstrate that the lossless interval of low-correlated SC NOMA is enlarged, with a degraded middle interval, compared to that of high-correlated SC NOMA. Moreover, we also show that such tendency becomes stronger as the value of the correlation coefficient varies. As a result, the proposed low-correlated SC scheme could be considered as a promising correlated SC scheme, with the enlarged lossless interval in NOMA toward the future sixth-generation (6G) ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC).

  • The quality of stream remaking is decided the load of a server and Jitter through the traffic of the transmission path between end to end. In order to improve these problems in this paper, I propose tree construction method of low-delay-level-multicast. In this case which the network congestion will be occurred by streaming quality, I also propose the technique which dynamically changes the transmission path. This technique first constructs the overlay structure for relaxing the overload of server. Secondly, in order to decrease Jitter of client, it makes upload bandwidth and low latency balanced. In the evaluation of the performance, this paper showed better enhancement of about $15%{\sim}24%$ than P2CAST[4] in the simulation about node average join count, average bandwidth, service request refusal ratio, RTT measurement of nodes, and node average join count by defect ratio.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient Viterbi processor using Joint Viterbi detection and decoding (JVDD) algorithm for a for bluetooth low energy (BLE) system. Since the convolutional coded Gaussian minimum-shift keying (GMSK) signal is specified in the BLE 5.0 standard, two Viterbi processors are needed for detection and decoding. However, the proposed JVDD scheme uses only one Viterbi processor by modifying the branch metric with inter-symbol interference information from GMSK modulation; therefore, the hardware complexity can be significantly reduced without performance degradation. Low-latency and low-complexity hardware architecture for the proposed JVDD algorithm was proposed, which makes Viterbi decoding completed within one clock cycle. Viterbi Processor RTL synthesis results on a GF55nm process show that the gate count is 12K and the memory unit and the initial latency is reduced by 33% compared to the modified state exchange (MSE).

  • We present a methodology to design energy-efficient data paths using FPGAs. Our methodology integrates domain specific modeling, coarse-grained performance evaluation, design space exploration, and low-level simulation to understand the tradeoffs between energy, latency, and area. The domain specific modeling technique defines a high-level model by identifying various components and parameters specific to a domain that affect the system-wide energy dissipation. A domain is a family of architectures and corresponding algorithms for a given application kernel. The high-level model also consists of functions for estimating energy, latency, and area that facilitate tradeoff analysis. Design space exploration(DSE) analyzes the design space defined by the domain and selects a set of designs. Low-level simulations are used for accurate performance estimation for the designs selected by the DSE and also for final design selection We illustrate our methodology using a family of architectures and algorithms for matrix multiplication. The designs identified by our methodology demonstrate tradeoffs among energy, latency, and area. We compare our designs with a vendor specified matrix multiplication kernel to demonstrate the effectiveness of our methodology. To illustrate the effectiveness of our methodology, we used average power density(E/AT), energy/(area x latency), as themetric for comparison. For various problem sizes, designs obtained using our methodology are on average $25\%$ superior with respect to the E/AT performance metric, compared with the state-of-the-art designs by Xilinx. We also discuss the implementation of our methodology using the MILAN framework.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to review previous clinical studies on underlying mechanisms of sleep-related type-specific pathophysiological symptoms among the Sasang types. Methods and Procedure: We reviewed seven research databases from December 2003 to August 2015 with the keywords Sasang typology, constitution and sleep. The Sasang type-specific sleep-related symptoms were analyzed based on seven categories, including subjective sleep quality, sleep latency, sleep duration, habitual sleep efficiency, sleep disturbances, use of sleep medications and daytime dysfunction. Results: Total of twelve studies were included in the analysis. The Tae-Yang type showed low subjective sleep quality, long sleep latency and frequent awakening, and the So-Yang type showed long sleep latency. The Tae-Eum type presented high subjective sleep quality, short sleep duration, frequent snore, toss and turn during the sleep, and insomnia and low frequency of dream. The So-Eum type showed long sleep latency in male and high frequency of dream. The Eum type combining Tae-Eum and So-Eum types had higher subjective sleep quality, longer sleep duration and higher frequency of dream than the Yang type combining Tae-Yang and So-Yang types. Conclusions This study reviewed type-specific sleep-related characteristics and discussed possible pathophysiological mechanisms involved. Differences in sleep characteristics among the Sasang types might stem from type-specific temperaments and require further study.

  • Recently, cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS) testbeds have been deployed in great numbers, and advanced autonomous driving research using V2X communication technology has been conducted actively worldwide. In particular, the broadcasting services in their beginning days, giving warning messages, basic safety messages, traffic information, etc., gradually developed into advanced network services, such as platooning, remote driving, and sensor sharing, that need to perform real-time. In addition, technologies improving these advanced network services' throughput and latency are being developed on many fronts to support these services. Notably, this research analyzed the network latency requirements of the advanced network services to develop a remote driving service for the droid type low-speed robot based on the 3GPP C-V2X communication technology. Subsequently, this remote driving service's performance was evaluated using system modeling (that included the operator behavior) and simulation. This evaluation showed that a respective core and access network latency of less than 30 ms was required to meet more than 90 % of the remote driving service's performance requirements under the given test conditions.

  • Audiovisual (AV) facilities such as TVs and signage are installed in various public places. However, audio cannot be used to prevent noise and interference from individuals, which results in a loss of concentration and understanding of AV content. To address this problem, a total technique for remotely listening to audio from audiovisual facilities with clean sound quality while maintaining video and lip-syncing through personal smart mobile devices is proposed in this paper. Through the experimental results, the proposed scheme has been verified to reduce system power consumption by 8% to 16% and provide real-time processing with a low latency of 120 ms. The system described in this paper will contribute to the activation of audio telehearing services as it is possible to provide audio remote services in various places, such as express buses, trains, wide-area and intercity buses, public waiting rooms, and various application services.
