병렬제어기법이 적용된 1.8kW급 마일드 하이브리드 양방향 LDC 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of 1.8kW bi-directional LDC with Parallel Control Strategy for Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicles)

  • This paper presents a design and parallel control strategy of 1.8 kW low-voltage DC-DC converter (LDC) for mild hybrid electric vehicles to improve their power density, system efficiency, and operation stability. Topology and control scheme are important on the LDC for mild hybrid electric vehicles to achieve high system efficiency and power density because of their very low voltage and large current in input and output terminals. Therefore, the optimal topological structure and control algorithm are examined, and a detailed design methodology for the power and control stages is presented. A working sample of 1.8 kW LDC is designed and implemented by applying the adopted topology and control strategy. Experimental results indicate 92.45% of the maximum efficiency and 560 W/l of power density.

  • 본 논문은 CRT 표시장치에서 고전류밀도를 구현하기 위한 전자총의 히터와 캐소드의 최적의 저전력설계와 실험을 수행하였다. CRT 표시장치에서 밝기, 고휘도, 고해상도와 대화면화를 위해서는 전자총 캐소드(cathode)의 고전류밀도가 필수적이다. 이를 위해서는 함침형 캐소드가 사용되며, 고전류밀도를 얻기 위해 히터의 동작온도를 높여야하는데 이에 비례하여 소비전력도 증가한다. 본 논문에서는 고전류밀도 캐소드 히터의 저전력 설계를 위하여 히터의 리드형태(Lead Type), 코팅(Coating)법, 발열부의 1차 및 2차 코일링의 피치와 권선수를 달리한 샘플을 제작, 시험하였다.

인력비행기 개발을 위한 설계 및 제작 고려 요소 (The Design and Construction Consideration for Developing the Human Powered Aircraft)

  • This paper surveys the historical perspective and design considerations for developing the human powered aircraft(HPA). Especially the weight and materials, aerodynamics, flight controls, and power trains are focused. The average power a human can produce and sustain is approximately 200${\sim}$250 W which is a critical design constraint of HPA. The survey shows that the empty weight of HPA was in the 30${\sim}$40 kg range(90${\sim}$110 kg include pilot). Thus, in order to design a successful HPA, the value of power to weight ratio should be 2.0 W/kg or above. The HPA design technique could be applied directly to the development of an unmanned high altitude airplanes used for atmospheric research, where light structures, low Reynolds number aerodynamics and high efficiency propeller design are required as well.

Practical Methodology of the Integrated Design and Power Control Unit for SHEV with Multiple Power Sources

  • Series hybrid electric vehicles (SHEVs) having multiple power sources such as an engine- generator (EnGen), a battery, and an ultra-capacitor require a power control unit with high power density and reliable control operation. However, manufacturing using separate individual power converters has the disadvantage of low power density and requires a large number of power and signal cable wires. It is also difficult to implement the optimal power distribution and fault management algorithm because of the communication delay between the units. In order to address these concerns, this approach presents a design methodology and a power control algorithm of an integrated power converter for the SHEVs powered by multiple power sources. In this work, the design methodology of the integrated power control unit (IPCU) is firstly elaborately described, and then efficient and reliable power distribution algorithms are proposed. The design works are verified with product-level and vehicle-level performance experiments on a 10-ton SHEV.

  • PV simulators are essential equipment for testing power conditioning systems (PCS) which are one of an important part in PV generator systems, for testing before shipment. High dynamic PV simulator is required since MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) test procedure has been established by EN50530 regulation recently. Most high quality PV simulator prevailed in the market is linear type which however has low efficiency. This paper proposes design guide lines for the power stage and LCL type filter cooperating with a switching mode PV simulator that shows high efficiency and very low power consumption. Proposed theory is verified by experiment.

Electrical Design of a Solar Array for LEO Satellites

  • During daylight, the solar array of low earth orbit satellites harvests electrical power to operate satellites. The power conversion of the solar array is carried out by control of the operation point using the solar array regulator when the solar array faces the sunlight. Thus, the design of the solar array should comply with not only the power requirement of satellite system but also the input voltage requirement of the solar array regulator. In this paper, the design requirements of the solar array for low earth orbit satellites are defined, and the means of satisfying these requirements are described. In addition, the architecture of a multi-distributed interface is suggested to maximize the power harvested from a solar array having high temperature deviation between each panel. The power analysis in this paper shows the optimal number of multi-distributed interfaces with a converter.

  • Energy scavenging is a technique that converts ambient energy, for example, vibration and light, to electrical energy in order to supply power to low power electronic devices such as ubiquitous sensors. In this paper, we propose an optimal operation condition of power delivery circuit and design strategy for energy scavenging system in which the generated power is order of microwatt and, consequently, efficient handling of power is critical. We also propose that high data transmission rate is more realistic optimal design objective rather than high energy efficiency. It is shown that disconnection of load from the storage capacitor right after data transmission reduces energy wasting and that optimal value of storage capacitor can be determined at this condition. The feasibility of our propose is proved by experiments and we believe that the proposed design strategy will promote the application of piezoelectric micropower generator to the ubiquitous sensor networks.

  • With the increasing performance and density of VLSI scircuits as well as the popularity of portable devices such as personal digital assitance, power consumption has emerged as an important issue in the design of electronic systems. Low power design techniqeus have been pursued at all design levels. However, it is more effective to attempt to reduce power dissipation at higher levels of abstraction which allow wider view. In this paper, we propose a simultaneous scheduling and binding scheme which increases the correlation between cosecutive inputs to an operation so that the switched capacitance of execution units is reduced in datapath-dominated circuits. The proposed method is implemented and integrated into the scheduling and assignment part of HYPER synthesis environment. Compared with original HYPER synthesis system, average power saving of 23.0% in execution units and 14.2% in the whole circuits, ar eobtained for a set of benchmark examples.

Robust Controller Design of Nuclear Power Reactor by Parametric Method

  • The robust controller for the nuclear reactor power control system is designed. Since the reactor model is not exact, it is necessary to design the robust controller that can work in the real situations of perturbations. The reactor model is described in the form of transfer function and the bound of each coefficient is determined to set up the linear interval system. By the Kharitonov and the edge theorem, a frequency based design template is made and applied to the determination of the controller. The controller designed by this method is simpler than that obtained by the H$_{\infty}$. Although the controller is designed with the basis of high power, it could be used even at low power.n at low power.

  • This paper was carried out design of 600 V GaN power MOSFET Modeling. We decided trench gate type one for design. we carried out device and process simulation with T-CAD tools. and then, we have extracted optimal device and process parameters for fabrication. we have analysis electrical characteristics after simulations. As results, we obtained 600 V breankdown voltage and $0.4\;m{\Omega}cm^2ultra$ low on resistance. At the same time, we carried out field ring simulation for obtaining high voltage.
