A new technology realizing interconnection between Plastic Film LCDs panel and a driving circuit was developed under the processing condition of low temperature and pressure with ACFs developed for Plastic Film LCDs. The conduction failure of interconnection of the two resulted from elasticity, low thermal resistance and high thermal expansion of plastic substrates. Conductive particles with elasticity similar to the plastic substrate did not damaged a ITO electrode on plastic substrates, and low temperature and pressure process also did not deform the surface of plastic substrates. As a result highly reliable interconnection with minimum contact resistance was accomplished.

This paper presents a compression-friendly low power test scheme in EDT environment. The proposed approach exploits scan slices reusing to reduce the switching activity during shifting for test scheme based on linear decompressor. To avoid the impact on encoding efficiency from resulting control data, a counter is utilized to generate control signals. Experimental results obtained for some larger ISCAS'89 and ITC'99 benchmark circuits illustrate that the proposed test application scheme can improve significantly the encoding efficiency of linear decompressor.
This paper presents a control bandwidth extension method for inverters with a low carrier ratio. The bandwidth is extended at the price of decreasing the phase margin. Then the phase margin is compensated by introducing an extra leading angle into an inverse Park transformation. The model of the controller with the proposed method is established. The magnitude and phase characteristics are also analyzed. Then the influence on system stability when the leading angle is introduced is analyzed. The proposed method is applied to design an inverter controller with both a large bandwidth and a desired phase margin, and the experimental results verify that the controller performs well in the steady-state and in terms of transient response.

Ultralow-noise soliton pulse generation over a wider Fourier frequency range is highly desirable for many high-precision applications. Here, we realize a low-phase-noise soliton pulse generation by transferring the low phase noise of a mode-locked laser to a silica microcomb. A 21.956-GHz and a 9.9167-GHz Kerr soliton combs are synchronized to a 2-GHz and a 2.5-GHz mode-locked laser through a fractional optoelectronic phase-locked loop, respectively. The phase noise of the microcomb was suppressed by up to ~40 dB at 1-Hz Fourier frequency. This result provides a simple method for low-phase-noise soliton pulse generation, thereby facilitating extensive applications.
Small portable devices such as mobile phones and laptops currently display a trend of high power consumption owing to their characteristics of high speed and multifunctionality. Low-power SoC design is one of the important factors that must be considered to increase portable time at limited battery capacities. Popular low power SoC design techniques include clock gating, multi-threshold voltage, power gating, and multi-voltage design. With a decreasing semiconductor process technology size, leakage power can surpass dynamic power in total power consumption; therefore, appropriate low-power SoC design techniques must be combined to reduce power consumption to meet the power specifications. This study examines several low-power SoC design trends that reduce semiconductor SoC dynamic and static power using EDA tools. Low-power SoC design technology can be a competitive advantage, especially in the IoT and AI edge environments, where power usage is typically limited.
A V-band low-noise amplifiers (LNA) based on the Millimeter-wave monolithic integrated circuit (MIMIC) technology were fabricated using high performance 0.1 $\mu\textrm{m}$$\Gamma$-shaped pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistors (PHEMT's), coplanar waveguide (CPW) structures and the integrated process for passive and active devices. The low-noise designs resulted in a two-stage MIMIC LNA with a high S$\sub$21/ gain of 14.9 dB and a good matching at 60 ㎓. 20 dBm of IP3 and 3.9 dB of minimum noise figure were also obtained from the LNA. The 2-stage LNA was designed in a chip size of 2.3 ${\times}$1.4 mm$^2$by using 70 $\mu\textrm{m}$${\times}$2 PHEMT’s. These results demonstrate that a good low-noise performance and simultaneously with a high gain performance is achievable with GaAs PHEMT's in the 60 ㎓ band.
Optical character recognition (OCR) has been studied for decades because it is very useful in a variety of places. Nowadays, OCR's performance has improved significantly due to outstanding deep learning technology. Thus, there is an increasing demand for commercial-grade but affordable OCR systems. We have developed a low-cost, high-performance OCR system for the industry with the cheapest embedded developer kit that supports GPU acceleration. To achieve high accuracy for industrial use on limited computing resources, we chose a state-of-the-art text recognition algorithm that uses an end-to-end deep learning network as a baseline model. The model was then improved by replacing the feature extraction network with the best one suited to our conditions. Among the various candidate networks, EfficientNet-B3 has shown the best performance: excellent recognition accuracy with relatively low memory consumption. Besides, we have optimized the model written in TensorFlow's Python API using TensorFlow-TensorRT integration and TensorFlow's C++ API, respectively.
Recently, low energy ion beam irradiation has been adopted for surface modification. Low energy ion beam irradiation has many advantages in polymer engineering such as weak damage, good adhesion, noticeably-enhanced wettability(less than 15 degree), good reproducibility and so on. In this experiment, chemical reactions between free radicals and environment gas species have been investigated using angle-resolved XPS and TRIM code. In the case of low ion beam energy (around 1 keV), energy loss in polymer is mainly originated from atomic collisions instead of electronic interference. Atomic collisions could generated displaced atoms and free radicals. Cold cathode-ion source equipped with 5cm convex grid was used in an O2 environment. Base and working pressure were 5$\times$10-6 and 2.3$\times$10-4 Torr. Flow rates of argon and oxygen were fixed at 1.2 and 8 sccm. target materials are polyethylene polyvinyidenefluoride and polytetrafluoroethylene.

This study was conducted to develop an effective heparin extraction method by using low-cost and highly effective enzymes from six pig by-products (liver, lung, heart, stomach, small intestine, and large intestine), and analyze their bioavailability. Low-cost and highly effective enzymes (alkaline-AK and papain) and a common enzyme (trypsin) were used for the heparin extraction. The angiotensin I- converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity and the antimicrobial activity of extracted heparin were analyzed to verify their bioavailability. The average amount of heparin extracted per kilogram of pig by-products was 439 mg from the liver, 127 mg from the lung, 398 mg from the heart, 261 mg from the stomach, 197 mg from the small intestine, and 239 mg from the large intestine. Various enzymes were used to extract heparin, and the amount of extracted heparin was similar. Based on 1 g of pig by-product, the enzymes trypsin, papain, and alkaline-AK could extract 1,718 mg, 1,697 mg, and 1,905 mg of heparin, respectively. Heparin extracted from pig by-products showed antihypertensive activity and antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus at low populations. These results indicated that heparin can be obtained from pig by-products at a low cost.

2D human pose estimation still faces difficulty in low-resolution images. Most existing top-down approaches scale up the target human bonding box images to the large size and insert the scaled image into the network. Due to up-sampling, artifacts occur in the low-resolution target images, and the degraded images adversely affect the accurate estimation of the joint positions. To address this issue, we propose a multi-resolution input feature fusion network for human pose estimation. Specifically, the bounding box image of the target human is rescaled to multiple input images of various sizes, and the features extracted from the multiple images are fused in the network. Moreover, we introduce a guiding channel which induces the multi-resolution input features to alternatively affect the network according to the resolution of the target image. We conduct experiments on MS COCO dataset which is a representative dataset for 2D human pose estimation, where our method achieves superior performance compared to the strong baseline HRNet and the previous state-of-the-art methods.
