심근 관류스캔 중 정상 부하영상 소견을 보인 환자에서 휴식기 영상의 필요성에 대한 평가 (The Role of Rest Image in Patients Showing Normal Stress Image on Tc-99m Myocardial Perfusion Scan)

  • 연구 목적 : 디피리다몰 부하-휴식 Tc-99m MIBI 일일 심근영상법에서 부하기 영상이 정상인 환자에서 휴식기 영상이 필요한지 알아보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 흉통을 주소로 전남대학교병원을 내원하여 핵의학과에서 디피리다몰 부하/휴식 MIBI 심근관류 SPECT를 시행한 환자 중 부하시 스캔 소견상 관류결손이 없었고, 심근관류검사 전후 1개월 이내에 관동맥조영술로 관동맥병변 유무가 확진된 43명의 환자(남:여=24:19, 평균연령 $52{\pm}11세$)를 대상으로 하였다. 촬영방법은 디피리다몰 부하-휴식 Tc-99m MIBI 일일 심근영상법을 사용하였다. 결과 및 결론 : 부하기 영상이 정상인 환자 중 관동맥질환이 없는 경우 휴식기에도 정상으로 나올 확률은 79% (23/29)였고, 새로운 관류결손이 나올 확률은 21%였다. 부하기 영상이 정상이면서 관동맥질환이 있는 환자에서 휴식기 영상으로 새로운 결손을 찾아낼 확률은 22%였다. 따라서, 흉통을 호소하는 환자에서 부하기 영상이 정상일때 휴식기 영상은 대체로 추가적인 정보를 주지 못한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러나, 관동맥경련이 있는 환자는 5명 중 4명(80%)에서 휴식기 영상에 새로운 관류결손이 보일 수 있으므로, 관동맥경련이 의심되는 환자에서는 휴식기 영상을 촬영할 필요가 있을 것으로 사료되었다.

시멘트현탁액 주입에 의한 신선한 암석절리의 역학적 특성 변화 (The Effect of Cement Milk Grouting on the Deformation Behavior of Artifcial Rock Joints)

  • 본 연구에서는 주입에 의한 암석절리면의 수직압축특성과 전단특성의 변화를 규명하기 위하여 신선한 인공절리에 대하여 시멘트현탁액을 주입한 후, 절리 압축시험과 직접전단시험을 실시하였다. 시멘트현탁액을 주입한 맞물린 단일암석 절리의 수직압축시험결과, 주입전 비선형적이었던 절리의 수직응력-수직변형곡선은 선형적으로 바뀌었으며 2 MPa까지의 수직변형은 주입전의 1/10정도로 감소하였다. 시멘트현탁액 주입후 신선한 단일암석절리에 대한 직접전단시험결과, 파괴포락선은 1 MPa내외의 점착력과주입전보다 낮은 마찰각을 가지는 것으로 나타났으며, 주입두께가 커질수록 마찰각은 더 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 잔류전단강도는 주입두에와의 상관성을 확인할 수 없었으나, 전단강성과 최대팽창각은 주입두께가 증가할수록 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 이러한 주입두께에 대한 전단특성들의 감소현상들은 주입재에 의한 절리면 유효거칠기의 감소효과로부터 발생한 것으로 판단되며 직접전단시험에서 얻어진 최대전단강도를 주입두께대 거칠기평균진폭비를 포함한 경험식으로 나타내었다.

Effect of Osmotic Stress on Human Red Cell Rheology: Cell Deformability, Aggregability and Blood Viscosity

  • The present study investigated the effects of the osmotic environment on the rheological properties of erythrocytes and their suspensions. In an iso-osmotic medium, erythrocytes forming a biconcave discocyte under resting conditions, exhibited high deformability. In a low-osmotic medium, the deformability of erythrocytes, which swelled and exhibited a spherical shape, significantly decreased at a high shear stress and the high-shear viscosity of the cell suspension was slightly higher than that of normal blood. Hyper-osmotic stress, however, which caused to form echinocytes, decreased cell deformability but exhibited smaller viscosity in low shear rates than iso-osmotic blood viscosity. These results showed a close relation with the aggregability measurements, in that hypertonic blood showed lower aggregability than the hypotonic and isotonic RBC suspensions. These findings indicate that the physicochemical environment has a strong influence on the rheological properties of the erythrocyte and its suspensions.

  • Amoving aeration-membrane (MAM) bioreactor was employed for the production of 2$\mu$g/mL of tissue type Plasminogen Activator (tPA)in serum free medium from normal human fibroblast cells. This system could maintain high cell density for long periods of steady state conditions in perfusion cultivation. Under normal operating condition, shear stress was as low as 0.65 dynes/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at the agitation speed of 80 rpm. Even though cell density gradually decreased with increasing agitation speed, tPA production increased linearly with increasing shear stress within a moderate range. This culture system allowed production of 2$\mu$g tPA/mL while maintaining a high cell denisty of 1.0$\times$107 viable cell/mL.

절리면의 거칠기에 따른 암석 절리의 전단강도 및 변형거동에 관한 연구 (Shear Strength and Deformation Behavior of Rock Joint with Roughness)

  • Direct shear tests were carried out on the rock joints and artificial discontinuities to investigate the influence of joint roughness on the shear strength and deformation behaviour. Single direct shear testing apparatus used in experiment was designed and manufactured. Its capacity is 200 tons of shear load, 20 tons of normal load and 50$\textrm{cm}^2$ of maximum shear area. Test samples were cement mortar with artificial discontinuity and sandstone with natural joint. Peak shear strength was increased as joint roughness or normal stress was increased, especially, linearly increased with roughness angle in cement mortar. If joint roughness angle was constant at low normal stress, shear strength was not affected by width and height of joint roughness in cement mortar. Peak shear strengths obtained from tests were larger than the values calculated by Barton's equation, and shear stiffness was increased with joint roughness coefficient.

  • Aluminum nitride having a dense hexagonal structure is used as a high-temperature material because of its excellent heat resistance and high mechanical strength; its excellent piezoelectric properties are also attracting attention. The structure and residual stress of AlN thin films formed on glass substrate using TFT sputtering system are examined by XRD. The deposition conditions are nitrogen gas pressures of 1 × 10-2, 6 × 10-3, and 3 × 10-3, substrate temperature of 523 K, and sputtering time of 120 min. The structure of the AlN thin film is columnar, having a c-axis, i.e., a <00·1> orientation, which is the normal direction of the glass substrate. An X-ray stress measurement method for crystalline thin films with orientation properties such as columnar structure is proposed and applied to the residual stress measurement of AlN thin films with orientation <00·1>. Strength of diffraction lines other than 00·2 diffraction is very weak. As a result of stress measurement using AlN powder sample as a comparative standard sample, tensile residual stress is obtained when the nitrogen gas pressure is low, but the gas pressure increases as the residual stress is shifts toward compression. At low gas pressure, the unit cell expands due to the incorporation of excess nitrogen atoms.

Comparative Proteomic Analyses of the Yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae KNU5377 Strain Against Menadione-Induced Oxidative Stress

  • The Saccharomyces0 cerevisiae KNU5377 strain, which was isolated from spoilage in nature, has the ability to convert biomass to alcohol at high temperatures and it can resist against various stresses [18, 19]. In order to understand the defense mechanisms of the KNU5377 strain under menadione (MD) as oxidative stress, we used several techniques for study: peptide mass fingerprinting (PMF) by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry (MS) followed by two-dimensional (2D) gel electrophoresis, liquid chromatography electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS), and surface-enhanced laser desorption ionization-time of flight (SELDI-TOF) technology. Among the 35 proteins identified by MALDI-TOF MS, 19 proteins including Sod1p, Sod2p, Tsa1p, and Ahp1p were induced under stress condition, while 16 proteins were augmented under normal condition. In particular, five proteins, Sod1p, Sod2p, Ahp1p, Rib3p, Yaf9p, and Mnt1p, were induced in only stressed cells. By LC-ESI-MS/MS analysis, 37 proteins were identified in normal cells and 49 proteins were confirmed in the stressed cells. Among the identified proteins, 32 proteins were found in both cells. Five proteins including Yel047cp and Met6p were only upregulated in the normal cells, whereas 17 proteins including Abp1P and Sam1p were elevated in the stressed cells. It was interesting that highly hypothetical proteins such as Ynl281wp, Ygr279cp, Ypl273wp, Ykl133cp, and Ykr074wp were only expressed in the stressed cells. SELDI-TOF analysis using the SAX2 and WCX2 chips showed that highly multiple-specific protein patterns were reproducibly detected in ranges from 2.9 to 27.0 kDa both under normal and stress conditions. Therefore, induction of antioxidant proteins, hypothetical proteins, and low molecular weight proteins were revealed by different proteomic techniques. These results suggest that comparative analyses using proteomics might contribute to elucidate the defense mechanisms of KNU5377 under MD stress.

소수력 터빈용 기계평면시일의 표면마찰형상에 따른 접촉특성 해석에관한 연구 (A Study on Contact Characteristics of Mechanical Face Seals for a Hydro-power Turbine Depending on the Rubbing Surface Geometry)

  • In this paper, the contact behavior characteristics of a primary sealing components such as a seal ring and a seal seat has been presented for a small hydro-power turbine. Using the non-linear FEM analysis, the maximum temperature, the axial displacement, radial differences between a seal ring and a seal seat, and maximum contact normal stress have been analyzed for three optimized sealing profiles in which are designed based on the FEM analysis and Taguchi's experimental method. The three primary sealing profiles between a seal ring and a seal seat are strongly related to a leakage of a water for a hydro-power turbine and wear of a primary sealing component. The computed results show that the contact rubbing area between a seal ring and a seal seat is very important for reducing a friction heating and wear in a sealing gap, and increasing a contact normal stress in primary sealing components. Based on the FEM computation, models II and III in which have a small rubbing surface of seal rings show low dilatation of primary sealing components, and high normal contact stress between a seal ring and a seal seat. Thus, the FEM computed results recommend a short contacting width of a primary sealing component for reducing a leakage and thermal distortions, and expanding a seal life. This means that a conventional primary sealing component may be switched to a reduced sealing face of seal rings.

관원(關元).중완(中脘).족삼리(足三里) 애구(艾灸)가 수송(輸送) Stress를 준 Rat의 혈액상(血液狀)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effect of Moxibution at the Kwanwon, Chung-wan and Chok-samni on the blood picture in Rat with transportation stress)

  • Effects of moxibution at the Gwanweon, Jungwan and Joksamlee on the blood picture in rat with transportation stress were determined. Counts of RBC showed a tendency to increase from 6 hours to 12 hours after transportation stress, however in the moxibution group, showed no changes in counts of RBC after transportation stress and the tendency of fluctuation was similiar to those of none stress group. The changes in Hb after transportation stress showed no difference among moxibution group and none moxibution group, however the changes in PCV showed a tendency to increase from 3 hours to 6 hours after transportation stress in two stress group. In the mean values of erythrocytic blood during experimental times, counts of RBC showed a high values (P<.05) in the stress only group, however in the other groups, these values showed no difference (P>.05) among treatment and the values of Hb and PCV showed no difference among 4 treatment groups. In the two stress groups, counts of WBC and Neutrophils showed a tendency to decrease after transportation stress, however the moxibution group was recovered to normal Leukocytes condition on short time compared with those of none moxibution group. In the mean values of Leukocytes during experimental times, counts of WBC and Neutrophils showed a high values and Lymphocytes showed a low values in the stress only group compared with those of other groups, however the stress group with moxibution showed no difference in Leukocytes values compared with those of normal condition group. Monocytes, Basophils and Eosinophils showed no difference among 4 treatment groups(P>.05). Results from this study indicate that the moxibution can tolerate the effects of transportation stress in rat.

대형엔진 실린더 커버 스터드의 강도 평가 (Strength Evaluation of the Cylinder Cover Stud for Low-Speed Marine Diesel Engine)

  • The cylinder cover stud for assembling the combustion chamber components of low-speed marine diesel engine is one of the main structural components in engine. To understand the structural behavior of the stud is quite important for safe and economic design of it. In this paper, the structural behavior and design adequacy of the stud have been evaluated through strain measurement and structural analysis for the world's two largest engine types. Moreover, a feasibility study for design modification was carried out based on fatigue test and calculation. The results showed that 1) the stud experiences very high stress ratio under normal operating conditions, 2) the fatigue strength of the stud is sufficient, and 3) results from strain measurement and structural analysis were quite close each other.
