일산화탄소 저감을 위한 개질가스의 전이반응 연구 (Investigation of the Water Gas Shift from Reforming Gas for CO Removal)

  • Hydrogen as an energy carrier in fuel cell offers perhaps the largest potential benefits of reduced emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases. The generation of high-purity hydrogen from hydrocarbon fuels is essential for efficient operation of fuel cell. Reduction of carbon monoxide to an acceptable level of 10ppm involves high temperature and low temperature water gas shift (WGS), followed by selective oxidation of residual carbon monoxide. The WGS reactor was designed and tested in this study to produce hydrogen-rich gas with CO to less than 5000 ppm. In the water gas shift operation, gas emerges from the reformer is taken through a high temperature shift (HTS) catalyst to reduce the CO concentration to about $2{\sim}4%$ followed to about 5000 ppm via a low temperature shift (LTS) catalyst.

  • 탄화수소계열의 연료로부터 고순도 수소를 생산하는 것은 연료전지의 효율적인 운전과 밀접하다. 일반적으로 대부분의 탄화수소연료에서 수소를 생산하는 과정은 수소, 일산화탄소, 이산화탄소와 수증기혼합물이 생성되는 개질과정 및 일산화탄소를 저감하는 전이반응과 선택적 산화반응 과정으로 구성되어있다. 전이반응은 일산화탄소를 이산화탄소로 전환하는 동시에 수소가 생성되는 고온전이와 저온전이로 구성된 두 단계의 촉매전환 공정이다. 전이반응은 개질가스를 고온전이 반응에서 일산화탄소를 $3\sim4%$까지 낮추며 저온전이 반응에서 0.5%까지 저감한다. 본 연구에서 개질가스 중 일산화탄소를 0.5% 이하로 저감하기 위하여 전이반응기 설계 및 실험을 진행하였다.

  • 수성가스 전환 반응은 가스화로 생성된 합성 가스에 수소 생산 증가와 H2/CO 비율 제어를 위해 수증기를 첨가하는 가스화 후속 공정이다. 본 연구에서는 RPF(Refuse plastic fuel) 가스화 시스템의 합성가스를 대상으로 수성가스 전환 반응을 연구하였다. 수성가스 전환 반응은 촉매를 이용하여 high temperature shift(HTS) 와 low temperature shift(LTS) 반응에 대하여 lab scale 관형 반응기를 이용하여 반응 온도, steam/carbon ratio, 유량의 변화가 H2 생성과 CO 전환율에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 운전 온도는 HTS 시스템이 250-400℃, LTS 시스템이 190-220℃이며 steam/carbon ratio는 1.5-3.5로 변화시켰다. 반응 모의 가스의 농도는 RPF 합성가스의 농도를 기준으로 CO, 40vol%, H2, 25vol%, CO2, 25vol%이다. 반응 온도와 steam/carbon ratio가 증가함에 따라 CO 전환율 및 H2 생성량이 증가하고, 유량이 증가하면 촉매층의 체류시간 단축으로 CO 전환율과 H2 생성량이 감소하였다.

철강산업 부생가스를 이용한 고순도 수소 제조 공정의 반응 조건 최적화 (Optimization of Reaction Conditions for the High Purity Hydrogen Production Process Using By-Product Gases in Steel Works)

  • Low-priced hydrogen is required in petrochemical industry for producing low-sulfur oil, and upgrading low-grade crude oil since environmental regulations have been reinforced. Steel industry can produce hydrogen from by-product gases such as Blast Furnace Gas (BFG), Coke Oven Gas (COG), and Linze Donawitz Gas (LDG) with water gas shift (WGS) reaction by catalysis. In this study, we optimized conditions for WGS reaction with commercial catalysts by BFG and LDG. In particular, the influence on activity of gas-hourly-space-velocity, and $H_2O/CO$ ratios at different temperatures were investigated. As a result, 99.9%, and 97% CO conversion were showed with BFG, and LDG respectively under $350^{\circ}C$ High Temperature Shift (HTS), $200^{\circ}C$ Low Temperature Shift (LTS), 3.0 of $H_2O/CO$, and $1500h^{-1}$ of GHSV. Furthermore, 99.9% CO conversion lasted for 250 hours with BFG as feed gas.

수소 수율 증가를 위한 합성가스의 수성가스전환 반응 연구 (Water Gas Shift Reaction Research of the Synthesis Gas for a Hydrogen Yield Increase)

  • Automobile Shredder Residue (ASR) is very appropriate in a gasification melting system. Gasification melting system, because of high reaction temperature over than $1,350^{\circ}C$, can reduce harmful materials. To use the gasification processes for hydrogen production, the high concentration of CO in syngas must be converted into hydrogen gas by using water gas shift reaction. In this study, the characteristics of shift reaction of the high temperature catalyst (KATALCO 71-5M) and the low temperature catalyst (KATALCO 83-3X) in the fixed - bed reactor has been determined by using simulation gas which is equal with the syngas composition of gasification melting process. The carbon monoxide composition has been decreased as the WGS reaction temperature has increased. And the occurrence quantity of the hydrogen and the carbon dioxide increased. When using the high temperature catalyst, the carbon monoxide conversion ratio ($1-CO_{out}/CO_{in}$) rose up to 95.8 from 55.6. Compared with average conversion ratio from the identical synthesis gas composition, the low temperature catalyst was better than the high temperature catalyst.

  • A single-clock-driven shift register and a two-stage buffer are proposed, using p-type, low-temperature polycrystalline silicon thin-film transistors. To eliminate the clock skew problems and to reduce the burden of the interface, only one clock signal was adopted to the shift register circuit, without additional reference voltages. A two-stage, p-type buffer was proposed to drive the gate line load and shows a full-swing output without threshold voltage loss. The shift register and buffer were designed for the 3.31" WVGA ($800{\times}480$) LCD panel, and the fabricated circuits were verified via simulations and measurements.

귀금속계열 WGS 촉매 연구 (Noble metal catalysts for Water Gas Shift reaction)

  • Water gas shift reactor in fuel processing is an important part that converts carbon monoxide into hydrogen. Fuel processing system for PEMFC usually has two stages of WGS reactors, which are high temperature and low temperature shifter. In this study we prepared noble metal catalysts and compared their performances with that of a commercial iron chromium oxide catalyst. Noble metal catalysts and the commercial catalyst showed quite different temperature dependence of carbon monoxide conversion. The conversion of carbon monoxide at the commercial catalyst was very low at medium temperature(${\sim}300^{\circ}C$) and increased rapidly as temperature increased while the conversion at noble metal catalysts was high in the medium temperature range and decreased as temperature increased, which is thermodynamically expected. Their characteristics agreed well with the literature published, and we are accomplishing further study for improvement of the noble metal catalysts.

Silicon Nitride Films Prepared at a Low Temperature (${\leq}200^{\circ}C$) for Gate Dielectric of Flexible Display

  • The silicon nitride films for gate dielectric were deposited by catalytic chemical vapor deposition at low temperature (${\leq}200^{\circ}C$). The mixture of $SiH_4$, $NH_3$ and $H_2$ was used as source gases. The current-voltage (I-V) and the capacitance-voltage (C-V) characteristics of the films were measured. The breakdown voltage and the flat band voltage shift of samples were improved by increase of the $NH_3$ contents and $H_2$ dilution ratio. The defect states were analyzed by photoluminescence (PL) spectra. As the defect states decreased, the breakdown voltage and the flat band voltage shift increased.

저온 수성가스 전이 반응용 Cu-Zn-Al 촉매의 숙성시간 최적화 (An Optimization of Aging Time for Low-Temperature Water-Gas Shift Over Cu-Zn-Al Catalyst)

  • Cu-Zn-Al catalysts were prepared via co-precipitation method for low-temperature water-gas shift (LT-WGS) reaction under practical reaction condition. Aging time was systematically changed to find optimum point for LT-WGS under practical condition. The Cu-Zn-Al catalyst aged for 72 hours showed the highest CO conversion within low-temperature range as well as very stable catalytic activity for 200 hours despite the practical reaction condition.

시간-온도 중첩이론을 적용한 아스팔트 바인더의 점소성 구성 모형 (A Viscoplastic Constitutive Model Based on Overstress Concept with Time-Temperature Superposition Principle)

  • PURPOSES: Suggestion of asphalt binder constitutive model based on time-temperature superposition principle and overstress concept in order to describe behavior of asphalt binders. METHODS: A series of temperature sweep tests and multiple stress creep and recovery(MSCR) tests are performed to verify the applicability of time-temperature superposition principle(t-Ts) and to develop viscoelastoplastic constitutive equation based on overstress concept. For the tests, temperature sweep tests at various high temperature and various frequency and MSCR test at $58^{\circ}C$, $64^{\circ}C$ $70^{\circ}C$, $76^{\circ}C$, and $82^{\circ}C$ are performed. From the temperature sweep tests, dynamic shear modulus mastercurve and time-temperature shift function are built and the shift function and MSCR at $58^{\circ}C$ are utilized to determine model coefficients of VBO model. RESULTS: It is observed that the time-temperature shift function built at low strain level of 0.1% is applicable not only to 1.0% strain level temperature sweep test but also maximum 500,00% strain level of MSCR test. As well, the modified VBO model shows perfect prediction on MSCR measured strain at the other temperatures. CONCLUSIONS: The Time-temperature superposition principle stands hold from very low strain level to very high strain level and that the modified VBO model can be applicable for various range of strain and temperature region to predict elastic, viscoelastic, and viscoplastic strain of asphalt binders.
