5 GHz 무선랜용 수신기의 설계 (CMOS Front-End for a 5 GHz Wireless LAN Receiver)

  • Recently, the rapid growth of mobile radio system has led to an increasing demand of low-cost high performance communication IC's. In this paper, we have designed RF front end for wireless LAN receiver employ zero-IF architecture. A low-noise amplifier (LNA) and double-balanced mixer is included in a front end. The zero-IF architecture is easy to integrate and good for low power consumption, so that is coincided to requirement of wireless LAN. But the zero-IF architecture has a serious problem of large offset. Image-reject mixer is a good structure to solve offset problem. Using offset compensation circuit is good structure, too. The front end is implemented in 0.25 ${\mu}m$ CMOS technology. The front end has a noise figure of 5.6 dB, a power consumption of 16 mW and total gain of 22 dB.

농업기계 내비게이션을 위한 INS/GPS 통합 연구 (Study on INS/GPS Sensor Fusion for Agricultural Vehicle Navigation System)

  • This study was performed to investigate the effects of inertial navigation system (INS) / global positioning system (GPS) sensor fusion for agricultural vehicle navigation. An extended Kalman filter algorithm was adopted for INS/GPS sensor fusion in an integrated mode, and the vehicle dynamic model was used instead of the navigation state error model. The INS/GPS system was consisted of a low-cost gyroscope, an odometer and a GPS receiver, and its performance was tested through computer simulations. When measurement noises of GPS receiver were 10, 1.0, 0.5, and 0.2 m ($1{\sigma}$), RMS position and heading errors of INS/GPS system at 5 m/s straight path were remarkably reduced with 10%, 35%, 40%, and 60% of those obtained from the GPS receiver, respectively. The decrease of position and heading errors by using INS/GPS rather than stand-alone GPS can provide more stable steering of agricultural equipments. Therefore, the low-cost INS/GPS system using the extended Kalman filter algorithm may enable the self-autonomous navigation to meet required performance like stable steering or more less position errors even in slow-speed operation.

  • This paper shows the more improved design of MRI receiver compared to conventional one based on Elscint Spectrometer. At first, the low-cost ADC is 16 bits, 3MHz sampling A/D converter Comparing to conventional one with signal bits of 14 bits, this device with those of 16 bits helps getting Improved the image resolution improved. If frequency is designed centering around 7.6 MHz to be satisfied in 10 MHz of maximum input bandwidth of ADC. For 1st demodulation, fixed IF is used for the purpose of the implementing multi nuclei system. Control parts & partial digital parts are integrated on one chip(FPGA). In DDC(Digital Down Converter), we got required bandwidth of LPF by controlling its decimation rate. With above considerations, we designed optimal receiver for high resolution imaging to be implemented through PC interface & experimental test of receiver of MRI after receiver's fabrication.

  • Hardware implementation of a 32-channel MFC digital receiver has not been easy and simple, because it requires real time processing of PCM data. In this paper, we introduce a method of designing an MFC digital receiver compactly by the channel distribution method. We have implemented the MFC digital receiver to process many cnannels by distributing channels of the TDM input data directly to the commercial digital signal processor chips(NEC uPD7720), and by carrying out the modified Goertzel Algorithm. The design of low cost, reliable, high speed, and compact MFC receiver will be shown.

Taps Delayed Lines Architecture Based on Linear Transmit Zero-Forcing Approach for Ultra-Wide Band MIMO Communication Systems

  • In this paper, a transmitter-based multipath processing and inter-channel interference (ICI) cancellation scheme for a ultra-wideband (UWB) spatial multiplexing (SM) multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system is presented. It consists of taps delayed lines and zero-forcing (ZF) filters in the transmitter and correlators in the receiver. For a UWB SM MIMO system with N transmit antennas, M receive antennas, and Q resolvable multipath components, the BER performance of a linear transmit ZF scheme is analyzed in a log-normal fading channel and also compared with that of a receiver-based ICI rejection approach. It is found that when M ${\leq}$ N, the transmit ZF processing approach outperforms the ZF receiver while making the mobile units low-cost and low-power.

  • This paper describes development of automatic flight control system for an unmanned target drone which is operated by Korean army as for anti-air gun shooting training. Current target drone is operated by pilot control of on-board servo motor via remote control system. Automatic flight control system for the target drone greatly reduces work load of ground pilot and can increase application area of the drone. Most UAVs being operated now days use high-priced sensors as AHRS and IMU to measure the attitude, but those are costly. This paper introduces the development of low-cost automatic flight control system with low-cost sensors. The integrated automatic flight control system has been developed by integrating combining power module, switching module, monitoring module and RC receiver as an one module. The performance of automatic flight control system is verified by flight test.

저비용 GNSS 수신기를 이용한 반송파 위상 시각간 차분 측정치 기반의 정밀 상대위치 결정 기법 (A Precise Relative Positioning Method Based on Time-Differenced Carrier Phase Measurements from Low-Cost GNSS Receiver)

  • 본 논문에서는 저비용 단일 GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) 수신기를 이용하여 정밀한 위치를 추정하는 방법으로 반송파 위상 TD(Time Differenced) 측정치를 이용한 상대위치 결정기법을 제안하고 성능을 분석하였다. 제안하는 상대위치 결정기법은 반송파 위상 측정치를 활용하지만 시각 간 차분을 사용하므로 하나의 GNSS 수신기로 동작하며, 미지정수 결정 문제를 고려하지 않아도 된다. 또한 차분 간격이 짧은 시간일 경우 공간적 공통오차 및 위성시계 오차를 효율적으로 제거할 수 있다. 제안하는 위치결정 알고리즘은 오차해석을 통해 코드측정치를 이용한 절대위치 결정기법보다 성능이 우수함을 증명하고 실차 실험으로 구현된 알고리즘 및 오차해석 결과를 검증하였다. 그 결과, 위치추정 성능은 약 10분 동안 3m이내에 수렴하여 코드기반의 절대위치기법에 비하여 약 4배 이상 향상된 정확도 및 정밀도를 확인할 수 있었다.

  • This paper has been studied about UWB(Ulra wide-band)'s LNA(Low Noise Amplifier) and Mixer. The UWB is a new technology that is being pursed for both commercial and military purposes. Direct conversion architectures that convert RF signals have potential to achieve such terminals, because they eliminate the need for non-programmable image-rejection filters and IF channel filters. And this architecture promises better performance in power, size, and cost than existing heterodyne - based receivers. This Receiver architectures combines low-noise amplifier, mixer. And then this paper has designed suitable UWB's LNA and Mixer.
