Dependence of Electrons Loss Behavior on the Nitride Thickness and Temperature for Charge Trap Flash Memory Applications

  • $Pt/Al_2O_3/Si_3N_4/SiO_2/Si$ charge trap flash memory structures with various thicknesses of the $Si_3N_4$ charge trapping layer were fabricated. According to the calculated and measured results, we depicted electron loss in a schematic diagram that illustrates how the trap to band tunneling and thermal excitation affects electrons loss behavior with the change of $Si_3N_4$ thickness, temperature and trap energy levels. As a result, we deduce that $Si_3N_4$ thicknesses of more than 6 or less than 4.3 nm give no contribution to improving memory performance.

  • In This paper, the 4$\times$4 microstrip patch array antenna for millimeter-wave is designed and fabricated. Before that, a patch antenna is designed to analyze the property in the millimeter-wave. Also, the excitation is implemented using edge and prove feeding. The array method is used to design the 2x1 array with corporate feeding network. Measured antenna shows 12.77 dBi gain, 37.65 GHz center frequency, -29.78 return loss and 680 MHz band width.

The Performance Improvement of PLC by Using RTP Extension Header Data for Consecutive Frame Loss Condition in CELP Type Vocoder (CELP Type Vocoder에서 RTP 확장 헤더 데이터를 이용한 연속적인 프레임 손실에 대한 PLC 성능개선)

  • It has a falling off in speech quality, especially when consecutive packet loss occurs, even if a vocoder implemented in the packet network has its own packet loss concealment (PLC) algorithm. PLC algorithm is divided into transmitter and receiver algorithm. Algorithm in the transmitter gives superior quality by additional information. however it is impossible to provide mutual compatibility and it occurs extra delay and transmission rate. The method applied in the receiver does not require additional delay. However, it sets limits to improve the speech quality. In this paper, we propose a new method that puts extra information for PLC in a part of Extension Header Data which is not used in RTP Header. It can solve the problem and obtain enhanced speech quality. There is no extra delay occurred by the proposed algorithm because there is a jitter buffer to adjust network delay in a receiver. Extra information, 16 bits each frame for G.729 PLC, is allocated for MA filter index in LP synthesis, excitation signal, excitation signal gain and residual gain reconstruction. It is because a transmitter sends speech data each 20 ms when it transfers RTP payload. As a result, the proposed method shows superior performance about 13.5%.

  • In this paper. the power flow analysis(PFA) method is applied to the prediction of the vibrational energy density and intensity of coupled co-planar plates. To cover the energy transmission and reflection at the joint of the plates. the wave transmission approach is Introduced with the assumption that all the incident waves are normal to the joint. By changing the frequency ranges and internal loss factors. we have obtained the reliable PFA results. and compared them with the analytical exact solutions.

  • Different test methods were used to measure and compare the loss factor of a steel beam. They are free vibration logarithmic decay method, half-power bandwidth method using narrow-band analysis, wide-band analysis method with inverse FFT. In these tests, specimens are clamped at one end. Free vibration method and half-power bandwidth method gave good results. Effect of vibration pick-ups were tested. We also tried center excitation method but could not obtain loss factor.

Experimental Study on Flame Extinction in Buoyancy-minimized Counterflow Diffusion Flame (부력의 영향을 최소화한 조건에서 대향류 확산화염의 화염 소화에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Experiments were conducted to clarify role of the outermost edge flame on low-strain-rate flame extinction in buoyancy-suppressed non-premixed methane flames diluted with He and $N_2$. The use of He curtain flow produced a microgravity level of $10^{-2}-10^{-3}g$ in $N_2$- and He-diluted non-premixed counterflow flame experiments. The critical He and $N_2$ mole fractions at extinction with a global strain rate were examined at various burner diameters (10, 20, and 25 mm). The results showed that the extinction curves differed appreciably with burner diameter. Before the turning point along the extinction curve, low-strain-rate flames were extinguished via shrinkage of the outermost edge flame with and without self-excitation. High-strain-rate flames were extinguished via a flame hole while the outermost edge flame was stationary. These characteristics could be identified by the behavior of the outermost edge flame. The results also showed that the outermost edge flame was not influenced by radiative heat loss but by convective heat addition and conductive heat losses to the ambient He curtain flow. The numerical results were discussed in detail. The self-excitation before the extinction of a low-strain-rate flame was well described by a dependency of the Strouhal number on global strain rate and normalized nozzle exit velocity.

  • To enhance the quality of defect detection for Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) during electronic product manufacturing, this study primarily focuses on optimizing the YOLOv7-based method for PCBA defect detection. In this method, the Mish, a smoother function, replaces the Leaky ReLU activation function of YOLOv7, effectively expanding the network's information processing capabilities. Concurrently, a Squeeze-and-Excitation attention mechanism (SEAM) has been integrated into the head of the model, significantly augmenting the precision of small target defect detection. Additionally, considering angular loss, compared to the CIoU loss function in YOLOv7, the SIoU loss function in the paper enhances robustness and training speed and optimizes inference accuracy. In terms of data preprocessing, this study has devised a brightness adjustment data enhancement technique based on split-filtering to enrich the dataset while minimizing the impact of noise and lighting on images. The experimental results under identical training conditions demonstrate that our model exhibits a 9.9% increase in mAP value and an FPS increase to 164 compared to the YOLOv7. These indicate that the method proposed has a superior performance in PCBA defect detection and has a specific application value.

  • It is necessary to better understand the effect of age-related degradation on the performance of reinforced concrete shear walls in nuclear power plants in order to ensure their structural safety in the event of earthquakes. Therefore, this paper studies seismic fragility of the typical shear wall in nuclear power plants under earthquake excitation Reinforced concrete shear wall is composed of wall, horizontal and vertical flanges. Due to characteristics of its geometry, it is difficult to predict the ultimate behavior of shear wall under earthquake excitation. In this study, for more realistic numerical simulation, the Latin Hyper-Cube (LHC) simulation technique was used to generate uncertain variables for the material properties of concrete shear walls. The effects of crack, characteristics of inelastic behavior of concrete, and loss of cross section were considered in the nonlinear finite element analysis. The effects of aging-related deterioration were investigated on the performance of reinforced concrete shear walls through analysis of undegraded concrete shear walls and degraded concrete shear walls. The resulting seismic fragility curves present the change of performance of concrete shear wall due to age-related degradation.

Control of buildings using single and multiple tuned liquid column dampers

  • Some design formulas and design procedures for single and multiple tuned liquid column dampers (TLCDs) are proposed in this study. Previous studies show that if the properties of the TLCD system are properly selected then the TLCD could be as effective as the traditional tuned mass dampers. In addition, the TLCD system offers advantages such as flexibility in terms of installation, little maintenance required, and potentials for multiple usage, etc., which are incomparable by other mechanical types of dampers. In this paper, a set of optimal properties such as length and head loss of a TLCD system are derived under the assumption that the building vibrates in a dominate mode and is subjected to Gaussian white noise excitation. A design procedure for a single TLCD system will be illustrated and discussed. Due to the nonlinearity in the damping term, the TLCD system is sensitive to the loading intensity. This loading sensitivity could limit the application range of the TLCD system. It will be shown in this paper that such a nonlinear effect can be reduced by using multiple TLCDs. As a demonstrative example, the control effects on a flexible building modeled as a single degree-of-freedom system subjected to white noise excitation will be analyzed and discussed using single or multiple TLCDs.

Synthesis and Properties of Poly[oxy(arylene)oxy(tetramethyldisilylene)]s via Melt Copolymerization Reaction

  • We carried out the melt copolymerization reactions of 1,2-bis(diethylamino)tetramethyldisilane with several aryldiols such as, 4,4'-biphenol, 4,4'-isopropylidenediphenol, 9H-fluoren-9,9-dimethanol, and 4,4'-(9-fluorenylidene) bis(2-phenoxyethanol) to afford poly[oxy(arylene)oxy(tetramethyldisilylene)]s containing fluorescent aromatic chromophore groups in the polymer main chain: poly[oxy(4,4'-biphenylene)oxy(tetramethyldisilylene)], poly[oxy{(4,4'-isopropylidene) diphenylene}oxy(tetramethyldisilylene)], poly[oxy(9H-fluorene-9,9-dimethylene) oxy(tetramethyldisilylene)], and poly[oxy{4,4'-(9-fluorenylidene)bis(2-phenoxyethylene)}oxy(tetramethyldisilnylene)]. These prepared materials are soluble in common organic solvents such as $CHCl_3$ and THF. The obtained polymers were characterized by several spectroscopic methods such as $^1H$, $^{13}C$, and $^{29}Si$ NMR. Further, FTIR spectra of all the polymers exhibited characteristic Si-O stretching frequencies at 1014-1087 $cm^{-1}$. These polymeric materials in THF showed strong maximum absorption peaks at 268-281 nm, strong maximum excitation peaks at 263-291 nm, and strong maximum fluorescence emission bands at 314-362 nm due to the presence of tetramethyldisilylene and several arylene chromophores in the polymer main chain. TGA thermograms indicated that most of the polymers were stable up to $200^{\circ}C$ with a weight loss of 3-16% in nitrogen.
