This paper presents the ability and the application of software packages for distribution planning which are DISPLAN(Distribution Planning System) and DLPLAN(Distribution Line Planning System) developed in KEPCO. After calculating size and position of maximum load by administration section for distribution, it forecasts the demand of distribution load considering growth location, increment, new load plan, etc of load by annual. Also it calculates distribution loss, voltage drop using modeled distribution line by you, and support for establishment and enlargement plan of substation and distribution line, decision of most optimal path. And it presents the abstract of used algorithm to develop this system.
Geosynchronous electron flux dropouts are most likely due to fast drift loss of the particles to the magnetopause (or equivalently, the "magnetopause shadowing effect"). A possible effect related to the drift loss is the radial diffusion of PSD due to gradient of PSD set by the drift loss effect at an outer L region. This possibly implies that the drift loss can affect the flux levels even inside the trapping boundary. We recently investigated the details of such diffusion process by solving the diffusion equation with a set of initial and boundary conditions set by the drift loss. Motivated by the simulation work, we have examined observationally the energy spectrum and pitch angle distribution near trapping boundary during the geosynchronous flux dropouts. For this work, we have first identified a list of geosynchronous flux dropout events for 2007-2010 from GOES satellite electron measurements and solar wind pressures observed by ACE satellite. We have then used the electron data from the Time History of Events and Macroscale Interactions during Substorms (THEMIS) spacecraft measurements to investigate the particle fluxes. The five THEMIS spacecraft sufficiently cover the inner magnetospheric regions near the equatorial plane and thus provide us with data of much higher spatial resolution. In this paper, we report the results of our investigations on the energy spectrum and pitch angle distribution near trapping boundary during the geosynchronous flux dropout events and discuss implications on the effects of the drift loss on the flux levels at inner L regions.
In this study, energy loss due to ventilation load in the dock system was analyzed through simulation. Also, flow generated in the dock system of the warehouse was measured using manufactured measuring devices. Numerical simulation was conducted by simulating the most common picking tasks by examining the actual working environment. Incompressible and unsteady turbulent flows were assumed, and the turbulence model was the k-e standard model. Proper grid was selected through grid dependency test. Measurement was conducted using Honeywell and Vaisala sensors, and flow and temperature inside the warehouse were measured and compared with simulation results to validate simulation. When comparing amount of loss occurring in two hours and amount of loss occurring in 15 minutes, docking time of the former was eight times longer but energy loss was 3.8 times lower. Ventilation load occurring during the initial period after opening docking system accounted for a large proportion of total ventilation load. Also, comparing the load when the dock was closed and the load when the truck was parked, ventilation load was significantly higher than load due to heat conduction from the wall. Therefore, in improving the docking system, it is effective to reduce the gap by improving compatibility of the docking system and truck, rather than wall material.
The Korea has high population density, so the precipitation per capita is only one tenth to world average. The water resource in Korea is insufficient. But the leakage in the water distribution system is about 25%, and it is lower than other countries where water utilities are managed well. The pipelines' management also is getting worse because the leakage in the pipelines lower the ground density surrounding pipes. So, managing the leakage in the water distribution system is very important in the view of increasing the water resources and doing the efficient management of the pipeline system. Accordingly this study aimed to conduct a cause-analysis with scientific approaches considering key local factor related to water loss of distribution system and derive better performance indicators which are able to evaluate the real state of water loss management reasonably. Also this research aimed to develop a methodology capable of judging condition of infrastructure of water distribution system.
It is important to control layer current distributions of coaxial multi-layer HTS cables, because a homogeneous layer current distribution decreases AC loss and can supply the largest operational current. We have extended the theory that treat the operational current more than the critical current by considering V-I nonlinear characteristics of HTS tapes including flux flow resistance and contacting resistance between the cable and terminals. It is important to investigate the current distribution under the condition of operational current more than the critical current of cable, because the cable has experiences of fault current. In order to verify the extended theory, we have fabricated a two layers cable with the same twisting layer pitch. It was observed that almost all the operational current less than the critical current flowed on the outer layer because of its lower inductance. In case of operational current more than critical currents of layers, the flux flow resistances affect strongly current waveform and thereby the currents of layers were determined by the flux flow resistances. And we investigated breakdown characteristics in $LN_{2}$/paper composite insulation system for the application to a HTS cable. In this experiment, we got some information out of that the electrical characteristics of the insulation materials depends on the condition of butt gap.
The management of power factor(PF) in the distribution line is treated according to the measurement a month about the feeder unit at the substation. In Korea, we have not researched into power factor in distribution system due to it's less weight. The reactive power in advanced countries is controlled automatically by the compensative condenser switch on/off under the monitoring. This paper first presents the optimal condenser position and proper capacity by lagrangue factor ${\lambda}_{Q}$ which is the line loss index about reactive power unit. Therefore, the largest ${\lambda}_{Q}$ node is the condenser injection point and we find out the best condenser capacity when the line loss is saturated by the moderation of condenser volume. By this method, we suggest 0.6% uprising PF by injection of 15 kVA condenser. Additionally, PF is analysed into 5 areas; large city, middle city, small city, farm village, fishing village by the use of Power Platform which is classified the same concept of the low load management in KEPCO. Two feeders of each area are selected by the worst results of PF in specified areas.

The presence of responsive loads in the promising active distribution networks (ADNs) would definitely affect the power system problems such as distributed generations (DGs) studies. Hence, an optimal procedure is proposed herein which takes into account the simultaneous placement of DGs and smart meters (SMs) in ADNs. SMs are taken into consideration for the sake of successful implementing of demand response programs (DRPs) such as direct load control (DLC) with end-side consumers. Seeking to power loss minimization, the optimization procedure is tackled with genetic algorithm (GA) and tested thoroughly on 69-bus distribution test system. Different scenarios including variations in the number of DG units, adaptive power factor (APF) mode for DGs to support reactive power, and individual or simultaneous placing of DGs and SMs have been established and interrogated in depth. The obtained results certify the considerable effect of DRPs and APF mode in determining the optimal size and site of DGs to be connected in ADN resulting to the lowest value of power losses as well.
Isolated phase bus(IPS) has a special structure for carrying large current generated by a generator to a main transformer. In the analysis of IPB, the understanding of the magnetic field distribution generated by large current is important. Especially, while the bus conductor current is flowing, almost same amount of current as bus conductor current is induced in the enclosures under the influence of time varying magnetic field, and therefore the large electric loss and the deterioration of insulating capability might occur due to Joule heating effect. Hence for the optimal design of IPB satisfying the condition to minimize the loss, the accurate analysis of magnetic field distribution and the eddy current characteristics of three phase isolated phase bus have been investigated. In the analysis of time varying magnetic field, instead of finite difference method(FDM) which is generally used, finite element method with phasor concept is investigated under the assumption that the bus current is purely sinusoidal. The characteristics is studied along the phase angle by comparing the effect of eddy current on the magnetic field distribution with the case that eddy current is not considered, and also the effect of material, thickness and radius of enclosure on the eddy current distribution is discussed.
In this paper, achieved rise temperature distribution about degradation phenomenon of 2 MVA distribution mold transformer using finite element method (FEM). Usually, life of transformer is depended on temperature distribution of specification region than thermal special quality of transformer interior. Specially, life of transformer by decline of dielectric strength decreases rapidly in case rise by strangeness transformer interior hot spot temperature value permits. Because calculating high-voltage winding and low-voltage winding of mold transformer and Joule's loss of core for improvement these life, forecasted heat source, and high-voltage winding and low-voltage winding of mold transformer and rise temperature distribution of core for supply of electric power and temperature distribution of highest point on the basis of the result Also, calculated temperature rise limit of mold transformer and permission maximum temperature using analysis by electron miracle heat source alculate and forecasted rise temperature distribution by heat source of thermal analysis with calculated result.
