The relationship between effective permeability and the remanence ratio of an Fe-based amorphous alloy (Metglas 2605S3A) is investigated over a wide frequency range, in an effort to understand magnetization behavior of the alloy. In the frequency range from 1 to 200 kHz, the permeability is maximum at the remanence ratio of 0.4-0.5 and, at frequencies over 500 kHz, the correlation with negative coefficients emerges indicating that the permeability decreases with the remanent ratio, except for the ribbon coated with an insulating layer of MgO which exhibits both high values of the effective permeability and remanence ratio. It is considered from the correlation results that the boundary at which the dominant magnetization mechanism changes from domain wall motion to spin rotation is near 500 kHz. The core loss is also investigated as a function of annealing time when the samples are annealed at a fixed temperature of $435^{\circ}C$. The core loss in most cases decreases with the annealing time, the degree of the loss may consist of the hysteresis loss and anomalous eddy current loss. The two loss components are considered to be of similar magnitudes at low frequencies while, at high frequencies, the dominant contribution to the total loss is the anomalous loss.
So far, the Taguchi Method has dealt with multiple quality characteristics under the assumption that they are independent. Since the relationships between quality characteristics are practically important, this study proposes a new performance measure considering the correlation among characteristics. In this paper, we impose weight on each characteristic and correlation among characteristics. The loss function of multiple characteristics is defined in accordance with combination of simple characteristic types, and it is divided into terms of loss that characteristic itself and the correlation among characteristics cause. And the proposed method uses the expected loss of multiple characteristics as the new performance measure. The data in literature are used to compare with the existing performance measures.
This paper discussed the assessment of hand of polyester fabrics changed by alkaline hydrolysis. This study analyzed the relations between the change of mechanical property and the hand value according to the weight loss of polyester fabrics. The results are as follows; Objective hand by KES-FB system, revealed that for tensile properties, as the weight loss increased, WT, RT increased and LT decreased. For bending properties, as the weight loss increased, B and 2HB showed smaller values. For shear properties, as the weight loss increased, G, 2HG and 2HG5 decreased. For surface properties, as the weight loss increased, MIU increased, but MMD and SMD did not show any trend. For compression properties, LC, WC and RC did not show significant differences according to the degree of weight loss. In case of hand value, Koshi(stiffness), Hari(anti-drape stiffness), Kisimi(scrooping feeling) and Shinayakasa(flexibility with soft feeling) showed a meaningful results depending on the degree of weight loss. However, Shari(crispness) and Fukurami(fullness and softness) did not show meaningful result. Koshi, Hari and Shinayakasa are high correlation with tensile property, bendibg property shear properties, thickness and weight. Kisimi is high correlation with tensile property, bending property, thickness and weight. Shari, Fukurami and THV did not show any meaningful difference whth any mechanical properties.

The purpose of this study is to derive the environmental factors affecting child loss through correlation analysis between child loss and pedestrian density. The status of lost children was identified through the lost child records and interviews in large parks. In addition, the behavior survey was conducted by photographing the entire outdoor of each park, and visitors was marked on the behavioral maps. Also, the pedestrian density was analyzed by GIS as 100㎡ and 1㎡ grid. As a result, child loss was related to the pedestrian density rather than the number of visitors or the area. Especially, 'Dynamic pedestrian density' and 'Ratio of pedestrian in high density to area' was related to child loss. In other words, the more dynamic behaviors such as play and movement appear, and the more the local area of high density, the higher the probability of child loss. In addition, environmental factors that induce such high density include bottlenecks, overlap of circulation due to multi-functionality of space, concentration of rides, and concentration of guardians due to visual obstacles.
This paper proposes a non-intrusive speech quality estimation method considering the effects of packet loss to perceptual quality. Packet loss is a major reason of quality degradation in a packet based speech communications network, whose effects are different according to the input speech characteristics or the performance of the embedded packet loss concealment (PLC) algorithm. For the quality estimation system that involves packet loss effects, we first observe the packet loss of G.729 codec which is one of narrowband codec in VoIP system. In order to quantify the lost packet affects, we design a classification algorithm only using speech parameters of G.729 decoder. Then, the degradation values of each class are iteratively selected that maximizes the correlation with the degradation PESQ-LQ scores, and total quality degradation is modeled by the weighted sum. From analyzing the correlation measures, we obtained correlation values of 0.8950 for the intrusive model and 0.8911 for the non-intrusive method.
In this study, we analyzed the correlation between mechanical and electrical properties of low-temperature conductive film (LT-CF) bonded silicon solar cells by a quadrant analysis (horizontal axis (peeling strength), vertical axis (power loss)). We found that a series of points with various bonding parameters such as bonding temperature, pressure and time were distributed in the different three regimes; weak regime (Q2: weak bonding strength and high power loss), moderate regime (Q4 : strong bonding strength and low power loss) and hard regime (Q3 : weak bonding strength and low power loss). Using this analogous technique, it was possible to fabricate the LT-CF bonded silicon solar cells with the various conditions displayed in Q3 of the quadrant plots, possessing the peeling strength of ~ 1N/mm and power loss of 2~3%.
In this paper, we propose a theoretical method to systematically analyze the power conversion efficiency of a single-phase PFC switching rectifier. Boost-type PFC was organized in order of highest correlation with load current using steady-state analysis results and introduced the concept of loss factor. The loss factors for each major element are summarized and presented in a table. This paper makes it easier to understand the internal loss and power conversion efficiency of the rectifier for loss factors. Lastly, to confirm the validity of the efficiency analysis results reflecting the loss factors, loss and efficiency analysis of the 2.5kW PFC rectifier was performed. The results were compared with data from a 2.5kW PFC circuit for evaluation. As a result, the usefulness of power conversion efficiency analysis reflecting the loss factors proposed in this paper was confirmed.
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the expression level of filaggrin-2 (FLG2) in correlation with drip loss. Methods: The muscle samples were randomly taken from a local meat supplier. Samples were taken from Longissimus lumborum muscles to evaluate the drip loss (n = 100). Five muscles per group (low and high drip loss) were selected to evaluate FLG2 mRNA and protein expression levels. Results: mRNA of FLG2 gene was not significantly different in pigs with different levels of drip loss (p>0.05). Statistical analysis revealed that FLG2 protein expression levels were significantly different between the drip loss groups. Western blot revealed that the high drip loss group had higher FLG2 protein expression level than the low drip loss group (p<0.001). Moreover, immunohistochemistry revealed the high signal intensity was on the muscle cell membrane and cytoplasm. Conclusion: FLG2 protein might play roles in drip loss of pork and will provide the basis for information to improving meat quality traits in pigs.
Statement of problem. Conventional denture treatment for totally edentulous patients is associated with a variety of functional and psychosocial problems. The placement of implants in the anterior region of the maxilla and mandible and the fabrication of an implant-retained overdenture might solve these problems. Purpose. This study compared the marginal bone loss around the implant and evaluated the implant survival rate and complications in patients treated with overdentures retained by implants for 2 years. Material and methods. Patients who had received implant-retained overdentures using a Dolder bar at Samsung Medical Center from January 1999 to June 2005 and had participated in the annual recall programs for two years were selected for this study. A total of 18 patients and 56 $Br{\aa}ne-mark\;system^{(R)}$ implants were used, and their data were reviewed. Evaluations of the survival rate, bone quality, marginal bone loss, and complications were performed. The data on the Dolder bar length and clip length were measured. The change in marginal bone loss and the correlation between the marginal bone loss and bar length, clip length, or bone quality were investigated. Results. Implants placed in this study showed a 100% survival rate. The average annual bone loss was 1.12mm in the first year and 0.27mm in the second year in the maxilla, and 0.58mm in the first year and 0.22mm in the second year in the mandible. The marginal bone loss in the maxilla showed no significant association with those in the mandible. (P>.05). There was no significant difference in marginal bone loss around implants between the first and second year. (P>.05) There was no statistically significant relationship (P>.05) between the marginal bone loss and bone quality, clip length, or Dolder bar length. The Dolder bar length showed a high correlation with the clip length. (P<.05) Various complications were noted. Conclusion. These results confirmed the favorable outcome for patients treated with implant-retained overdentures.
Background: Goslings in several Taiwanese farms experienced gosling feather loss disease (GFL) at 21-35 days and goose broke feather disease (GBF) at 42-60 days. The prevalence ranges from a few birds to 500 cases per field. It is estimated that about 12,000 geese have been infected, the morbidity is 70-80% and the mortality is 20-30%. Objectives: This study aims to investigate the pathogens that cause GFL and GBF. Focus on the study of the correlation between goose circovirus (GoCV) and goose parvovirus (GPV) with the goose feather loss in southern Taiwan. Furthermore, a phylogenetic tree was established to align the differences between southern and northern Taiwan and compare with virus strains from China and Europe. Methods: Samples were collected from animal hospitals. Molecular and microscopy diagnostics were used to examine 92 geese. Specific quantitative polymerase chain reaction (Q-PCR) assays are performed to evaluate GPV and GoCV viral loads and simultaneously evaluated the feather loss conditions in geese with the scoring method. Results: High prevalence of GoCV and GPV infection in geese showing signs of GFL and GBF. Inclusion body was detected in the feather follicles and Lieberkuhn crypt epithelial cells. The Q-PCR showed the high correlation between feather loss and viruses during 3rd-5th week. However, the infection was not detected using the same test in 60 healthy geese. Conclusions: Thus, GFL and GBF appear to be significantly closely related to GoCV and GPV. The geese feathers showed increasing recovery after being quarantined and disinfected.
