WCDMA 시스템을 위한 판정궤환 동기식 동기추적 회로의 설계 및 성능분석 (Design and Performance Analysis of a Decision-feedback Coherent Code Tracking Loop for WCDMA Systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 WCDMA 시스템을 위한 판정궤환 동기식 동기추적 회로 (decision-feedback coherent code tracking loop)를 설계하고 AWGN 환경과 페이딩 환경에서 위상 에러와 심볼 에러의 영향을 고려하여 지터 분산을 해석한다. 먼저, AWGN 환경에서의 지터 분산을 위상 에러와 비트 오율을 포함하여 펄스성형 필터(pulse-shaping filter), 타이밍 오프셋 (timing offset), 신호 대 잡음비 (signal-to-interferences ratio), 루우프 대역폭(loop-bandwidth)에 대한 일반식으로 유도하고 페이딩 환경에서 지터 분산의 상한치 (upper bonnd)를 유도한다. 끝으로, WCDMA 순방향 링크의 DPCH 프레임 포맷 #13을 목표 시스템(target system)으로 설정하여 2차 동기식 등기추적 회로를 설계하고 AWGN 환경과 Rayleigh 페이딩 환경에서 지터 분산의 이론치와 시뮬레이션 결과를 비교, 분석한다.

  • This paper presents a novel design method for determining the PID gains of a speed controller for a servo system compensating variations in bandwidth at a low speed. The variations in bandwidth of a speed controller are measured at a low speed and the relationship between the bandwidth and the damping ratio are verified by determining the location of the closed loop pole. The proposed algorithm uses the z-transform of a plant and speed controller and applies the time-varying sampling method for determining the PID gains of the speed controller at low speed. The magnitude and the phase condition are considered for finding a suitable control gain. The usefulness and effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through experimental results such as low speed control and robust disturbance responses.

  • Wide-bandwidth SQUID current amplifier and its control electronics have been constructed for detecting pulse outputs of a superconducting microcalorimeter. The current amplifier made of a double relaxation oscillation SQUID (DROS) has a bandwidth of 1.2 MHz and typical white noise level of about 6 pA/(equation omitted) Hz. To increase the dynamic range of the current amplifier, the flux-locked loop (FLL) has additional circuits to reset the integrator and to count reset numbers which present the number of passed flux quanta. In this system, dynamic range covers from -65 mA to +65 mA. SQUID electronics are controlled by software to get the optimum FLL condition, and to control the current to bias the transition edge sensor (TES). The electronics are shielded from the outside electromagnetic noises by using an aluminum case of 66 mm ${\times}$ 25 mm ${\times}$ 100 mm, and consist of 2 separate printed-circuit-boards for the current amplifier and the control electronics, respectively. The SQUID current amplifier and its control electronics will be used in TESs for detecting photons such as UV and X-ray with high energy resolution.

레이더용 Nxl 변형 사각 루프 배열 안테나 설계 (Design of Nx1 Modified Rectangular Loop Array Antenna for Radar Application)

  • A rectangular loop antenna for S-band radar is proposed. The proposed loop antenna is the modified type of folded monopole antenna. The feeding line is coplanar stripline with $180^{\circ}$ phase difference for operating in odd mode. The proposed antenna showed return loss of -15.57dB at the center frequency and bandwidth of about 790MHz (> 25%) under the condition of VSWR < 2. The gains of single, 1x2, and 1x4 array loop antennas are 4.3, 7.0, and 10.2dBi, respectively.

Microstrip Slow-Wave Open-Loop Resonator Filters with Reduced Size and Improved Stopband Characteristics

  • This paper presents a new class of microstrip slow-wave open-loop resonator filters with reduced size and improved stopband characteristics. A comprehensive treatment of both ends loaded with triangular and rectangular ends is described, leading to the invention of a microstrip slow-wave open-loop resonator. Two-resonator and four-resonator bandpass filters are designed at the operating frequency of about 2 GHz, and a bandwidth of 60 MHz. The size of the slow-wave open-loop resonator is optimized from the standpoint of the unloaded Q-factor. The filters are not only compact in size due to the slow-wave effect, but also have a wider upper stopband resulting from the dispersion effect. The filter designs of this type are described in details. The experimental results are demonstrated and discussed.

  • The areal recording density of HDD(Hard Disk Drive) has been increasing by about 60% a year. In order to achieve high areal density, less track pitch is expected and more servo bandwidth is required. Dual stage actuator and servo controller for HDD have been suggested for achieving high track density as a possible solution. Dual-loop servo system is generally classified into a two-input-two-output system, but if we use an estimator for a two-input-two-output system, it can be converted into two input one output system. Since we can't control the dual stage servo system by the classical method, it requires a special technique; for example, Parallel Loop System, Master-Slave Loop System, Decoupled Master-Slave Loop System, and Dual Feedback Loop System. In this paper, we performed experimental evaluations of several types of control algorithm. Further experiments will be made in the future.

이중루프 PLL을 이용한 IMT-2000용 저 위상잡음 주파수 합성기의 설계 및 제작 (A Design and Fabrication of Low Phase Noise Frequency Synthesizer Using Dual Loop PLL)

  • 본 논문에서는 이중 루프 PLL을 이용한 IMT-2000용 주파수 합성기를 설계 및 제작하였다. 위상잡음 특성을 개선하기 위해서 기준 루프와 두 개의 루프로 나누고 기준루프에는 변형 클램프 형태의 전압제어 발진기와 루프 필터를 최적화 함으로서 위상잡음을 개선하고 메인 루프에는 동축형 유전체 공진기를 사용한 전압제어 발진기와 위상 검출기로 SPD(Sampling Phase Detector)를 사용함으로서 분주기의 사용을 없애고 개루프 이득을 크게 함으로서 위상잡음 특성을 개선하였다. 이렇게 제작된 주파수 합성기는 1.81GHz의 중심주파수에 가변범위는 158.5MHz이고 위상잡음은 100kHz offset에서 -120..66dB로 우수한 특성을 나타내었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 이동 통신용 소형 무선기기에 사용가능한 소형 Ferrite-core Loop 안테나를 설계 제작하고 그 특성을 고찰하였다. 안테나는 $10{\times}6{\times}15mm^3$의 크기를 갖는 loop 안테나 내부에 Ferrite core를 삽입하여 제작하였고 제작된 안테나는 $50\Omega$ 정합시 대역폭 (SWR 1.5이하)은 0.55 MHz, Q값은 280으로 동일 크기를 갖는 Loop 안테나 (BW=1.9 MHz, Q=81.4)에 비해 주파수 선택 특성이 우수하였다. 8 방향 방사특성시험 및 TEM Cell을 이용한 수신특성시험에서도 기존의 loop안테나에 비해 11dB이상 이득이 증가됨을 알 수 있었다.

5.2 mW 61 dB SNDR 15 MHz Bandwidth CT ΔΣ Modulator Using Single Operational Amplifier and Single Feedback DAC

  • We propose an architecture that reduces the power consumption and active area of such a modulator through a reduction in the number of active components and a simplification of the topology. The proposed architecture reduces the power consumption and active area by reducing the number of active components and simplifying the modulator topology. A novel second-order loop filter that uses a single operational amplifier resonator reduces the number of active elements and enhances the controllability of the transfer function. A trapezoidal-shape half-delayed return-to-zero feedback DAC eliminates the loop-delay compensation circuitry and improves pulse-delay sensitivity. These simple features of the modulator allow higher frequency operation and more design flexibility. Implemented in a 130 nm CMOS technology, the prototype modulator occupies an active area of $0.098mm^2$ and consumes 5.23 mW power from a 1.2 V supply. It achieves a dynamic range of 62 dB and a peak SNDR of 60.95 dB over a 15 MHz signal bandwidth with a sampling frequency of 780 MHz. The figure-of-merit of the modulator is 191 fJ/conversion-step.

항공기용 내장형 온-글래스 안테나 설계 (Design of Aircraft Internal On-glass Antennas)

  • 본 논문에서는 FM 라디오 송수신을 위한 항공기용 글래스 안테나를 제안하였다. 제안된 안테나는 광대역 주파수 특성을 얻기 위해 다중 루프 구조를 채택하였으며 탑승자의 시야확보를 극대화하기 위해 창틀 구조를 모사한 안테나 형상을 선택하였다. 세부적인 설계 변수는 Pareto 유전자 알고리즘을 이용하여 최적화하였으며 설계된 글래스 안테나를 실제 한국형 기동헬기 조종석 측면 유리에 인쇄한 후 성능을 측정하였다. 측정결과 FM 주파수 대역에서 63.3%의 반전력 대역폭과, 전면방향(bore-sight direction)에서 평균 -12.98 dBi의 수직편파 복사이득을 보였다.
