The rare plants were identified 6 taxa such as Paeonia obovata (Legal protection species), Viola albida, Acanthopanax chiisanensis, Lilium distichum, Lilium callosum and Goodyera schlechtendaliana by the Korea Forest Service. Based on the list of Korean endemic plants, 8 taxa were recorded; Cephalotaxus koreana, Pseudostellaria multiflora, Thalictrum uchiyamai, Indigofera koreana, Acanthopanax chiisanensis, Asperula lasiantha, Weigela subsessilis and Carex okamotoi. Based on the list of approved for delivering overseas of plants, 6 taxa were recorded; Viola albida, Acanthopanax chiisanensis, Asperula lasiantha, Carex okamotoi, Lilium distichum and Lilium callosum. Specific plant species by floral region were total 21 taxa (9.3%); Paeonia obovata in class V, 5 taxa (Betula davurica, Acer palmatum, Asperula lasiantha, Lonicera subhispida, Phaenosperma globosa) in class III, 4 taxa (Viola orientalis, Acanthopanax chiisanensis, Ostericum melanotilingia, Lilium distichum) in class II and 11 taxa (Cephalotaxus koreana, Betula schmidtii, Quercus variabilis, Aphananthe aspera, Ilex macropoda, Meliosma oldhamii, Tilia amurensis, Lilium callosum, Erythronium japonicum, Polygonatum inflatum, Hosta capitata) in class I. It is important that relationship between national and local government will be needed for preservation of natural environment of Gyeryongsan National Park. As well, a long time of monitering and systematical management counterplan will be required.

Based on the list of the rare plants by the Forest Research Institute, 5 taxa were recorded in the studied areas; Lilium distichum(Preservation priority order : No. 159), Tricyrtis dilatata (No. 97), Aristolochia contorta (No. 151), Prunus yedoensis (No. 110), Patrinia saniculaefolia (No. 122) and based on the list of Korean endemic plants, 9 taxa were recorded; Cephalotaxus koreana, Carex okamotoi, Populus tomentiglandulosa, Salix purpurea var. japonica, Prunus yedoensis, Forsythia koreana, Paulownia coreana, Weigela subsessilis, Patrinia saniculaefolia. Specific plant species by floral region were total 29 taxa; Prunus yedoensis in class V, 3 taxa(Acer palmatum, Asperula lasiantha, Lonicera subhispida ) in class III, 5 taxa(Lilium distichum, Potentilla dickinsii, Caryopteris incana, Patrinia saniculaefolia, Ligularia fischeri) in class II, 20 taxa(Ulmus parvifolia, Clematis patens, Aconitum jaluense, Ilex macropoda, Grewia biloba var. parviflora etc.) in class I. The naturalized plants in this site were 13 families, 31 genera, 36 species, 2 varieties, 38 taxa and naturalization rate was 9.0% of all 422 taxa vascular plants. Because of recent rapid increase of cars and people around here, analysis shows many naturalized plants and high naturalized ratio. And wild plants disturbing ecosystem like Ambrosia artemisiifolia var. elatior have been increasing. So, it needs continuing control and conservation measures on the plant ecosystem.

  • Arthropod pests were surveyed from 132 herb species of 121 genera in 50 families of 32 orders at herb garden of Sancheong-gun Agricultural Development Technology Center in Sancheong, Gyeongsangnamdo province from October, 2005 to November, 2006. Ninety eight arthropod pests of 86 genera in 44 families of 9 orders were collected. Although less than 5 arthropod pests were collected from each herb, more than 5 arthropod pests were occurred on Hibiscus mutabililis, Peucedanum japonicum, Aralia cordata, Fraxinus rhynchophylla, Angelica decursiva, Rhaponticum uniflorum, Lonicera japonica, Betula platyphylla and Agrimonia pilosa. Out of collected pests, 98.5% of them damaged leaves of medicinal plants. The highest number of arthropod pests was recorded in May representing 36 species of 32 genera in 20 families of 6 orders. Most of them were collected from less than 5 medicinal plants. However, Atractomorpha lata, Dolycoris baccarum, Myzus persicae, and Nysius plebejus occurred on 42., 22, 20, and 15 medicinal plants, respectively. Atractomorpha lata and Myzus persicae had broad host ranges and seriously damaged. Aphis gossypii was dominant insect pest in May compared with Dolycoris baccarum in June. Atractomorpha lata in August and September, and Myzus persicae in October.

  • Dokdo was formed since when four million six hundred thousand to two million five hundred thousand. Dokdo, Ulreung Island and the mainland in Korea are not touch each other since the formation, therefore, Dokdo are very important island for discussion of plant evolution from plant geography point of view. Plants of Dokdo was enlisted as 60 taxa, 27 families, 52 genera, 50 species and 10 varieties. The naturalized plants of a wide sense is composed of 25 taxa, two tree species as Lonicera morrowii and Elaeagnus macrophylla, and 23 herbs. The naturalized plants were identified of 5 species as Sonchus oleraceus, Brassica juncea var. integrifolia, Rumex crispus, Chenopodium album, and Bromus unioloides. Total naturalized plants are 32 taxa, ratio of total naturalized plants per a existing species was 60 percentage. Accordingly Vegetational environment of Dokdo was interpreted very incomplete state as well as severe ecological disturb by invade species. Preparation of a regulating plan on naturalized plants and concern of a policy decision are requested in the conservational dimension for native species in Dongdo. For the conservation of native species in Dokdo, there are prepared that a regulating plan as block of the influx and eradication etc. and a policy decision of naturalized plants are prepared for view of the conservation for native species in Dokdo.

  • To investigate the structure and the conservation strategy of natural forest at Paekryunsa-Hyangcho kpong area in Tokyusan, 21 plots (400$m^2$) set up with random sampling method. Four groups were classified by cluster analysis. High positive correlations was proved between Tripterygium regelii and Acer tschonoskii var. rubripes, Viburnum sargentii and Betula ermanii, Corylus heterophylla var. thunbergii and Stephanandra incisa, Betula costata and Cornus controversa, Acer mono and Tilia amurensis, Tilia amurensis and Kalopanax pictum, Lonicera maackii and Viburum sargentii, and Betula ermanii, Acer tschonoskii var. rubripes and Taxus cuspidata, and Viburnum sargentii, and High negative correlations was proved between Acer pseudo-sieboldianum and Viburnum sargentii, Tripterygium regelii and Stephanandra incisa, Acer tschonoskii var. rubripes, and Stephanandra incisa. Species diversity(H') of investigated area was calculated 0.9402~1.2473. Taxus cuspidata, Betula ermanii and Abies koreana at Hyangchokpong area in Tokyusan should be conserved.
