횡단조사자료 종단화의 가치와 한계: 경제활동인구조사와 도시가계조사 (A Longitudinal Look at Economically Active Population Survey and Household Income and Expenditure Survey: Potential and Limitation)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 통계청에서 생산하고 있는 가구단위 조사 중 반복횡단조사로 설계된 경제 활동인구조사와 도시가계조사의 표본가구관리명부 자료를 이용하여 1998년에서 2002년까지 패널자료를 구축하고, 패널의 생존기간과 패널무응답 집단의 사회인구학적인 특성을 분석하는 것이다. 경활의 표본가구관리명부 자료를 월별 패널로 구축한 결과, 모두 응답한 가구는 46%였다. 반면에 분기별 패널로 구축된 도시가계에서 모두 응답한 가구는 34.%로 경활보다는 낮았다. 콕스비례위험모형을 통해 가구와 가구원의 사회경제적 특성이 패널의 생존기간에 미친 영향을 분석한 결과 개인차원에서는 연령, 가구차원에서는 주택소유형태에 따라 체계적인 표본소실이 발생하고 있었다. 개인의 특성별로는 여자보다는 남자가, 장년층보다는 젊은층의 패널소실 위험율이 높았다. 학력이 높을수록 패널소실확률도 함께 증가했으며, 취업자보다는 실업자의 패널소실 확률이 높았다.

  • 본 연구에서는 2003년 시작된 한국청소년패널조사 중학교 2학년 패널자료 분석을 위해 필수적인 각 연도별 횡단면, 종단면 가중치 산출방안을 소개하고 있다. 패널 모집 당시 추출된 표본이 대표하는 모집단의 종단면적 변화 분석을 위한 종단면 가중치는 로지스틱 회귀분석을 이용한 무응답 보정과 사후 층화를 통해 산출되었으며, 조사 연도의 표본 대응 모집단 분석을 위해 필수적인 횡단면 가중치는 전년도 대비 응답률과 사후 층화를 통해 산출되었다.

Deconstructing Opinion Survey: A Case Study

  • Questionnaires and surveys are increasingly being used to collect information from participants of empirical software engineering studies. Usually, such data is analyzed using statistical methods to show an overall picture of participants' agreement or disagreement. In general, the whole survey population is considered as one group with some methods to extract varieties. Sometimes, there are different opinions in the same group, but they are not well discovered. In some cases of the analysis, the population may be divided into subgroups according to some data. The opinions of different segments of the population may be the same. Even though the existing approach can capture the general trends, there is a risk that the opinions of different sub-groups are lost. The problem becomes more complex in longitudinal studies where minority opinions might fade over time. Longitudinal survey data may include several interesting patterns that can be extracted using a clustering process. It can discover new information and give attention to different opinions. We suggest using a data mining approach to finding the diversity among the different groups in longitudinal studies. Our study shows that diversity can be revealed and tracked over time using the clustering approach, and the minorities have an opportunity to be heard.

의학교육의 코호트 구축을 위한 종단 데이터베이스 설계방안 연구 (Designing a Longitudinal Database for Cohort Construction in Medical Education )

  • Longitudinal data can provide important evidence with the potential to stimulate innovation and affect policies in medical education and can serve as a driving force for further developments in medical education through evidence-based decisions. Tracking and observing cohorts of students and graduates using longitudinal data can be a way to link the past, present, and future of medical education. This study reviewed practical methods and technical, administrative, and ethical considerations for the establishment and operation of a longitudinal database and presented examples of longitudinal databases. Cohort study design methods and previous examples of research using longitudinal databases to explore major topics in medical education were also reviewed. The implications of this study are as follows: (1) a systematic design process is required to establish longitudinal data, and each university should engage in ongoing deliberation about this issue; (2) efforts are needed to alleviate "survey fatigue" among respondents and reduce the administrative burden of those conducting data collection and analysis; (3) it is necessary to regularly review issues of personal information protection, data security, and ethics regarding the survey respondents; and (4) a system should be established that integrates and manages a longitudinal database of medical education at the national level. The hope is that establishing longitudinal data and cohorts at individual medical schools will not be a temporary phenomenon, but rather that they will be well utilized at the national level to innovate and implement ongoing changes in medical education.

Deconstructing Agile Survey to Identify Agile Skeptics

  • In empirical software engineering research, there is an increased use of questionnaires and surveys to collect information from practitioners. Typically, such data is then analyzed based on overall, descriptive statistics. Overall, they consider the whole survey population as a single group with some sampling techniques to extract varieties. In some cases, the population is also partitioned into sub-groups based on some background information. However, this does not reveal opinion diversity properly as similar opinions can exist in different segments of the population, whereas people within the same group might have different opinions. The problem becomes more complex in case of longitudinal studies where minority opinions might fade or resolute over time. Survey based longitudinal data may have some potential patterns which can be extracted through a clustering process. It may reveal new information and attract attention to alternative perspectives. We suggest using a data mining approach to finding the diversity among the different groups in longitudinal studies (agile skeptics). In our study, we show that diversity can be revealed and tracked over time with the use of clustering approach, and the minorities have an opportunity to be heard.

I-E-O 모형에 근거한 의학교육 종단자료 구축을 위한 모형 설계 (Design of a Model to Structure Longitudinal Data for Medical Education Based on the I-E-O Model)

  • The purpose of this study was to establish a model for constructing longitudinal data for medical school, and to structure cohort and longitudinal data using data from Yonsei University College of Medicine (YUCM) according to the established input-environment-output (I-E-O) model. The study was conducted according to the following procedure. First, the data that YUCM has collected was reviewed through data analysis and interviews with the person in charge of each questionnaire. Second, the opinions of experts on the validity of the I-E-O model were collected through the first expert consultation, and as a result, a model was established for each stage of medical education based on the I-E-O model. Finally, in order to further materialize and refine the previously established model for each stage of medical education, secondary expert consultation was conducted. As a result, the survey areas and time period for collecting longitudinal data were organized according to the model for each stage of medical education, and an example of the YUCM cohort constructed according to the established model for each stage of medical education was presented. The results derived from this study constitute a basic step toward building data from universities in longitudinal form, and if longitudinal data are actually constructed through this method, they could be used as an important basis for determining major policies or reorganizing the curricula of universities. These research results have implications in terms of the management and utilization of existing survey data, the composition of cohorts, and longitudinal studies for many medical schools that are conducting surveys in various areas targeting students, such as lecture evaluation and satisfaction surveys.

우울증상이 있는 기혼여성의 우울 감소 영향요인: 여성가족패널 5, 6차 조사자료를 이용하여 (Factors Influencing the Decrease in Depression among Married Women with Depression: Using the Fifth and Sixth Wave Data of Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing decreasing depressive mood of married women with depression. Methods: Data that integrate the Korean longitudinal survey of women and families in 2014 and 2016 were used. Subjects for this study were 974 people who participated in the fifth survey in 2014 and the sixth survey in 2016, and married women were included in the depression group in the fifth survey. The data was analyzed with $x^2$ test, t-test, and logistic multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 23.0 program. Results: The decreased-depression group's depression decreased from 11.78 points in the fifth survey to 6.31 points in the sixth survey. This study showed that main factors such as age (OR=0.96, p=.002), educational level (OR=0.54, p=.007), economical status (OR=0.62, p=.037), satisfaction with marriage life (OR=1.15, p<.001), use of medical services (OR=1.65, p=.002), and physical activity (OR=1.08, p=.019) help decrease married women's depression. Conclusion: This study findings indicate a need to develop the strategies to increase satisfaction for marriage life and physical activity and to enhance health promotion to decrease depression among depressed married women.

수학 교과에 대한 정의적 특성의 종단적 추이 분석 (A longitudinal analysis on trend of mathematical affective domain)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze longitudinal trends of students' mathematical affective domain by use of the data mining method. For this purpose, we used the Korea education longitudinal study(KELS 2005) which was the survey data for students' achievement test, affective domain test, teachers' evaluation, and parents' evaluation from $7^{th}$ grader in the year of 2005 to $11^{th}$ grader in the year of 2010. Subjects of this study is a total of 5040 students who answered to the mathematical affective domain survey in KELS 2005. The result findings are as follows. First, students' affective domain had changed negatively as they went up to higher grade. Second, if students' affective domain had built at a certain level in $7^{th}$ grade, the level did not change easily until $11^{th}$ grade. Third, major factors of students' affective domain were shown to be self-efficacy, intrinsic motivation, efforts and patient, and time management.

  • 본 연구는 결혼생활에서 시간경과에 따라 여성이 이혼을 선택하게 만드는 영향 요인을 파악하여, 여성의 결혼과 이혼양상을 가족전환의 관점으로 이해하고 두 집단 모두 의미 있는 선택이 될 수 있도록 실천에 기반한 생활복지 차원의 성장에 기여하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 여성가족패널 자료를 사용하여 생존분석 방법을 이용한 종단 연구를 시행하였다. 여성의 결혼생활에서 각 요인들이 이혼 선택에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 콕스회귀분석을 실시하여 세 가지 분석모형을 통해 파악한 결과 모든 모형이 분석에 적합한 것으로 나타났다.

기계식 연속철근콘크리트포장의 현장 적용성 및 거동 분석 연구 (Field Application and Performance of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement via Mechanical Tube-feeding Method)

  • PURPOSES : The field application and performance of continuously reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP), constructed by using the mechanical tube-feeding method, are evaluated in this study. METHODS: The location of the rebar was evaluated by using the MIRA system. The early-age CRCP performance was evaluated via visual survey, in which the crack spacing and crack width were examined. RESULTS: The location of longitudinal reinforcing bars was evaluated via MIRA testing and the results showed that the longitudinal rebars all lie within a given tolerance limit (${\pm}2.5cm$) of the target elevation. In addition, owing to the low temperature when the concrete was pured, the crack spacing in the Dae-Gu direction is slightly wider than that of the Gwang-Ju direction. Almost all of the crack spacings lay within the range of 1.0 m~3.0 m. A crack width of <0.3 mm was measured at the pavement surface. However, as revealed by the field survey, the crack spacing was not correlated with the crack width. CONCLUSIONS : In CRCP constructed by using the mechanical tube-feeding method, almost all of the longitudinal reinforcing bars lay within the tolerance limit (2.5 cm) of the target elevation. The concrete-placing temperature affects the crack spacing, owing to variations in the zero-stress temperature. Crack survey results show that there is no correlation between the crack spacing and crack width in CRCP.
