Obstacle avoidance algorithm is very important on an unmanned vehicle. Therefore, in this research, we propose a algorithm of obstacle avoidance and we can prove through vehicle test and sensor experiments. Obstacle avoidance must be divided into two parts: the first part includes the longitudinal control for acceleration and deceleration and the second part is the lateral control for steering control. Each system is used for unmanned vehicle control, which notes its location, recognizes obstacles surrounding it, and makes a decision how fast to proceed according to circumstances. During the operation, the control strategy of the vehicle can detect obstacles and perform obstacle avoidance on the road, which involves vehicle velocity. In this paper, we propose a method for vehicle control, modeling, and obstacle avoidance, which are confirmed through vehicle tests.
The absolute longitudinal speed of a vehicle is estimated by using data from an accelerometer of the vehicle and wheel speed sensors of a standard 50-tooth antilock braking system. An intuitive solution to this problem is, 'When wheel slip is low, calculate the vehicle velocity from the wheel speeds; when wheel slip is high, calculate the vehicle speed by integrating signal of the accelerometer.' The speed estimator weighted with fuzzy logic is introduced to implement the above concept, which is formulated as an estimation method. And the method is improved through experiments by how to calculate speed from acceleration signal and slip ratios. It is verified experimentally to usefulness of estimation speed of a vehicle. And the experimental result shows that the estimated vehicle longitudinal speed has only a $6\%$ worst-case error during a hard braking maneuver lasting a few seconds.
The absolute longitudinal speed of a vehicle is estimated by using vehicle acceleration data from an accelerometer and wheel speed data from standard 50-tooth antiknock braking system wheel speed sensors. An intuitive solution to this problem is, "When wheel slip is low, calculate absolute velocities from the wheel speeds; when wheel slip is high, calculate absolute velocity by integrating the accelerometer." Fuzzy logic is introduced to implement the above idea and a new algorithm of "modified velocities with step integration" is proposed. This algorithm is verified experimentally to estimate speed of a vehicle, and is also shown to estimate absolute longitudinal vehicle speed with a 6% worst-case error during a hard braking maneuver lasting three seconds.
Obstacle avoidance is considered as one of the key technologies in an unmanned vehicle system. In this paper, we propose a method of obstacle avoidance, which can be expressed as vehicle control, modeling, and sensor experiments. Obstacle avoidance consists of two parts: one longitudinal control system for acceleration; and deceleration and a lateral control system for steering control. The method proposed for vehicle control, modeling, and obstacle avoidance has been confirmed through vehicle tests.
Relative displacements between decks should be within the allowable limit under horizontal forces in high-speed railway bridges. Longitudinal force transmitters(LFT) have been introduced ih high-speed railway bridges for test track. The horizontal forces on the pier supporting the fixed bearing are transmitted to the near piers supporting the sliding bearings by LFT, The performance of LFT was investigated by field test in which the braking and acceleration tests using KTX were conducted in Baebang viaduct. The relative displacements between decks were measured infield test and were compared with the numerical results and the allowable limit.
This paper presents an analysis on driving safety in lane change situation based on road driving data. Autonomous driving is a global trend in vehicle industry. LKAS technologies are already applied in commercial vehicle and researches about lane change maneuver have been actively studied. In autonomous vehicle, not only safety control issue but also imitating human driving maneuver is important. Driving data analysis in lane change situation has been usually dealt with ego vehicle information such as longitudinal acceleration, yaw rate, and steering angle. For this reason, developing safety index according to surrounding vehicle information based on human driving data is needed. In this research, driving data is collected from perception module using LIDAR, radar and RT-GPS sensors. By analyzing human driving pattern in lane change maneuver, safety index that considers both ego vehicle and surrounding vehicle state by using relative velocity and longitudinal clearance has been designed.
The subject of this paper is the tole operation for unmanned vehicle. The aim is studied in context of motor control system and algorithms for the mid to low level control of tele operation unmanned vehicle described. Modern, vehicle related researches have been implemented about control, chassis, body and safe쇼 but now is to driving comfort, I.T.S. and human factor, etc. As a result of this fact, unmanned vehicle is main research topic over the world but it is still very expensive and unreasonable. A hierarchical approach is studied in context of motor control system and algorithms for the mid to low level control of tele operation unmanned vehicle described. The real time control and monitoring of longitudinal, lateral, Pitching motion is to be solved by system integration and optimization technique. We show the experimental result about fixed brake range test and acceleration test. And all system is to integrated for driving simulator and unmanned vehicle.
In this paper, a two-dimensional multibody DADS model of a moving walk is developed to improve the ride quality of a moving walk system. The proposed DADS model is able to estimate the longitudinal acceleration of moving walk system, which is the more sensitive and important than other accelerations. To show the validity of the developed model, the longitudinal accelerations of pallet obtained from the computer simulations are compared to the experimental data in frequency domain. Then, the factorial design technique is applied to determine the main design factor and to improve the ride quality. The change of the spring compression in the lower part of the tension generating system improved the ride quality of the moving walk system.
In this paper, an observer-based adaptive controller is proposed to control the longitudinal motion of vehicles. The standard gradient method is used to estimate the vehicle parameters, mass, time constant, etc. The inter-vehicle spacing and its derivatives are estimated by using the sliding mode cascade observer introduced in this paper. It is shown that the proposed adaptive controller is uniformly ultimately bounded. It is also shown that the errors of the relative distance, the relative velocity and the relative acceleration asymptotically converge to zero. The simulation results are presented to investigate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The longitudinal dynamic behaviors of the bridge system consisting of multiple simply supported spans under seismic excitations are examined considering pounding effects. The pounding phenomena between adjacent girders which may consequently result in the span collapses are modeled by using the multi-degree-of-freedom system, The inelastic behavior of the RC pier is also considered by adopting the hysteresis loop model and the p-$\delta$ effect. Motions of the foundation and abutment are also considered but the local damage resulting from the girder pounding assumed to be neligible. The developed model is found to give the appropriate information of the dynamic characteristics of the bridge behavior. It is observed that the pounding effect becomes significant as the peak acceleration of the seismic excitation increases. Under minor earthquakes the pounding tends to increase the relative displacements while under strong earthquakes it tends to decrease the relative displacements by restricting the longitudinal girder motions, therefore it is suggested that the pounding effects should be considered in the analysis of the relative displacements of the longitudinally adjacent girder motions.
