케타민과 리도카인으로 시행한 소아 탈장 수술 2,230명 (Pediatric Inguinal Hernia Surgery 2,230 Cases Performed with Ketamine and Lidocaine)

  • Ketamine is a safe and effective drug for pediatric anesthesia, sedation and analgesia. We hoped to identify that surgeons could operate a pediatric hernia with the ketamine anesthesia without general anesthesia. The study was a consecutive case series of 2230 inguinal hernia patients aged 1 months to 17 years in a Joo's day-surgical clinic during 11-year period. The patients had pediatric inguinal hernia surgery without general anesthesia under the day-surgery system. We retrospectively analyzed the medical record of patients who were registered with the Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) system. All patients received ketamine (5mg/kg) and atropine (0.01mg/kg) intramuscularly before surgery. After anesthesia, we injected 1~2% lidocaine (Less than 5ml) subcutaneously at the site of incision and started operation. The surgical method was the high ligation method of the hernia sac.) In total 2230 patients, male were 1756 and female were 474. 2076 patients were a unilateral inguinal hernia at the time of surgery and 154 were bilateral hernia patients. Less than three months, depending on the age of the patients was 391, and less than 12 months the patient was 592 people (26.5%). After surgery, there were no accidents or long term complications associated with ketamine anesthesia. We think the surgeon can safely do the pediatric inguinal hernia surgery using ketamine and lidocaine without anesthesiologist through 11 years of our surgical experiences.

남극 세종기지에서 최근 태양 복사, 기온과 운량의 변화 (Recent Changes in Solar Irradiance, Air Temperature and Cloudiness at King Sejong Station, Antarctica)

  • The long-term trends of global solar irradiance, air temperature, specific humidity and cloudiness measured at King Sejong station, Antarctica, during the period of 1988-2004, have been investigated. A statistically insignificant decrease, -0.21 $Wm^{-2}yr^{-1}$ (-0.26 %$yr^{-1}$, P<0.5) in global solar irradiance was found in an analysis from the time series of the monthly mean values, except for the increasing trends only in two months of January and June. The trends in irradiance are directly and inversely associated with the cloudiness trends in annual and monthly means. The trends in surface air temperature show a slight warming, $0.03^{\circ}Cyr^{-1}$ (1.88 %$yr^{-1}$, P<0.5) on the annual average, with cooling trend in the summer months and the warming in the winter. The exact relationship, if any, between the irradiance and temperature trends is not known. No significant tendency was found in specific humidity for the same periods. Recent (1996-2004) erythermal ultraviolet irradiance shows decreasing trend in annual mean, -0.15 $mWm^{-2}yr^{-1}$ (-1.18 %$yr^{-1}$, P<0.1) which is about five times the trends of global solar irradiance. The ratio of erythermal ultraviolet to global solar irradiance shows remarkable seasonal variations with annual mean value of 0.01 % and a peak in October and November, showing the increase of ultraviolet irradiance resulting from the Antarctic ozone hole. The sensitivity of global solar irradiance to the change in cloudiness is roughly $13%oktas^{-1}$ which is about twice of the value at the South Pole due to the difference in the average surface reflectance between the two stations. Much more sensitive values of $59%oktas^{-1}$ was found for erythermal UV irradiance than for the global solar irradiance.

  • 본 연구에서는 빅데이터 범주에 포함되는 각종 계측 데이터를 대상으로 각종 이상치를 판단하기 위한 기법을 고안하고, 인공 데이터 및 실 계측 데이터를 이용한 이상치 분석을 수행하였다. 계측결과에 대한 1차 차분 값 및 오차율을 적용한 규칙기반 방법은 큰 규모의 Short fault 분석 및 일정 기간 계측값에 변화가 발생하지 않는 경우의 Constant fault 분석에 효과적으로 적용될 수 있었으나, 독립적인 단일 데이터셋만을 이용하는 관계로 큰 변화폭을 보이는 실 계측 데이터의 정상 데이터를 이상치로 오판하는 문제점이 있었다. 규칙기반 방법을 이용한 Noise fault 분석은 적정 데이터 윈도우 사이즈의 선택 및 이상치 판정용 한계값 선정상의 문제로 인해 실 계측 데이터 적용에 한계가 있었다. 이종 데이터 간 상관분석 방법은 학습 데이터의 적정범위 선정이 선행된다면 장단기 계측 데이터의 이상 거동 및 국부적 이상치 판정에 매우 효과적으로 이용될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

적극적 노동시장정책의 실업 감소 효과에 관한 연구 (A Study of Active Labor Market Policy and Unemployment : An Analysis Using Fuller-Battese Model)

  • This paper examines the effect of active labor market policy on the unemployment rates in 8 welfare states. This paper focuses on the following questions: what are the major predictors of the changes in unemployment rates?; and what is the effect of active labor market policy in reducing unemployment rates? Using the data from Comparative Welfare States Data Set by Stephens (1997), Key Indicators of the Labour Market by ILO (1999) and Social Expenditure Database by OECD (1999), this paper attempts to answer the above research questions. Fuller-Battese model, a data analysis method in pooled cross-sectional time-series analysis, is adopted to identify variables predicting changes in unemployment rates. This paper analyzes the predictors by using 3 analysis models about 2 types of unemployment (overall unemployment and long term unemployment). Results are as follows: (1) economic variable such as changes in GDP has a positive effect in reducing unemployment rates; (2) active labor market policy has a positive effect in reducing unemployment rates as well; (3) job brokering service among 3 major active labor market programs has a positive effect in reducing unemployment rates; and (4) there is an interaction effect between unemployment benefit level and active labor market policy in reducing unemployment rates. Through the empirical analysis, this paper provides valuable knowledge about effects of active labor market policy on unemployment in 8 welfare states and discusses implications for the active labor market policy in Korea.

DGPS를 이용한 해안선 변화 조사 및 분석 - 강원도 강릉시 연안을 중심으로 - (Investigation and Analysis of Shoreline Change using DGPS - Focusing on the Gangnung City Shore in Gangwondo -)

  • 연안의 무분별한 개발로 인해 해안의 침식 및 퇴적의 경향이 발생되고 있어 해안선 변화에 따른 자연보존 및 개발의 대책 수립이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 강원도 강릉시 연안 지역을 선정하여 약 2개월의 주기적인 간격으로 6회의 DGPS 측량을 실시하였고, 관측 자료는 강릉상시관측소를 기준으로 약 50cm 정확도로 후처리하여 1998년 수치지형도 및 2006년 수치해도와 상호 비교하였다. DGPS 측량값들은 수치지형도 해안선과 비교하여 볼 때 국부적으로는 강문항 도류제 설치부근과 남항진의 남측에 침식이 발생하였고 남항진 지역의 방파제 부근에는 많은 해안 퇴적이 일어났으며, 다른 지역의 경우도 부분적으로 해안 퇴적이 발생하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 GIS 자료입력에 알맞은 데이터 취득 방법으로 DGPS를 이용하여 수평자료 획득이 용이하고, 해안 개발에 따른 장기적이고 지속적인 관측을 통한 시계열적 해안선 변화를 측정하는데 효과적으로 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

DEA 효율성을 결정하는 입력-출력변수 식별 : 정부지원 R&D 과제 효율성 평가를 위한 실례 (Identification of DEA Determinant Input-Output Variables : an Illustration for Evaluating the Efficiency of Government-Sponsored R&D Projects)

  • In this study, determinant input-output variables are identified for calculating Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) efficiency scores relating to evaluating the efficiency of government-sponsored research and development (R&D) projects. In particular, this study proposes a systematic framework of design and analysis of experiments, called "all possible DEAs", for pinpointing DEA determinant input-output variables. In addition to correlation analyses, two modified measures of time series analysis are developed in order to check the similarities between a DEA complete data structure (CDS) versus the rest of incomplete data structures (IDSs). In this empirical analysis, a few DEA determinant input-output variables are found to be associated with a typical public R&D performance evaluation logic model, especially oriented to a mid- and long-term performance perspective. Among four variables, only two determinants are identified : "R&D manpower" ($x_2$) and "Sales revenue" ($y_1$). However, it should be pointed out that the input variable "R&D funds" ($x_1$) is insignificant for calculating DEA efficiency score even if it is a critical input for measuring efficiency of a government-sonsored R&D project from a practical point of view a priori. In this context, if practitioners' top priority is to see the efficiency between "R&D funds" ($x_1$) and "Sales revenue" ($y_1$), the DEA efficiency score cannot properly meet their expectations. Therefore, meticulous attention is required when using the DEA application for public R&D performance evaluation, considering that discrepancies can occur between practitioners' expectations and DEA efficiency scores.

  • 시장의 급속한 변화와 개별 수요자 요구의 다양화로 인하여 전통적인 예측 방식은 기업의 요구사항을 충족시키기 어렵다. 다변화하는 생산 환경에서의 올바른 수요예측은 원활한 수율관리를 위한 중요한 요소이다. 현재 산업에서 보편적으로 사용되는 기존의 많은 예측 모델은 조금씩 기능에 제한이 있다. 제안된 모델은 각 모델이 개별적으로 더 잘 수행하는 부분을 고려하여 이러한 한계를 극복하도록 설계 되었다. 본 논문에서는 동적 프로세스 분석에 적합한 Grey Relational 분석을 통한 변수 추출을 하고, ARIMA 예측값을 통하여 산출되는 과거 수요 데이터의 특징을 포함하는 통계적으로 예측된 데이터를 생성한다. 이후, LSTM 모델과 결합하여 신경망모델이 가지는 특성인 유연성, 장기적인 의존성 문제를 피하도록 구성되어진 구조를 통하여 수요예측에 영향을 주는 많은 요인들을 특징을 반영하여 수요예측을 산출할 수 있다.

  • Right after the 2007 Hebei Spirit Oil Spill phytoplankton ecosystems were investigated for 11 years based on the seasonal monitoring of the composition and abundance of phytoplankton species. Comparable time-series data from the 1989 Exxon Valdez or the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill sites were not available. It was suggested that the ecological healthiness of phytoplankton ecosystems at EVOS sites had recovered after 10 years following the oil spill based on chlorophyll concentrations even though these concentrations only represented phytoplankton communities in most cases. Chlorophyll concentrations can only reflect limited aspects of highly complex phytoplankton ecosystems. During the last 11 years following the 2017 HSOS, extreme variabilities were met in the seasonally averaged ratios of diatoms to phototrophic flagellates including dinoflagellates based on the microscopic cell countings. Summer phytoplankton communities exhibited some cyclic interannual changes in dominant groups every 2-4 years. During the early years (2008-2010) cryptophytes or raphidophytes (Chattonella spp.) dominated alternately each year, which was repeated again in 2014, 2015 and 2017. Two thecate dinoflagellates, Tripos fusus and Tripos furca, together accounted for 52.5% and 50.0% of all organisms in the summers of 2011 and 2012, respectively, which was repeated again in 2018. Summer occurrence and dominance by the phototrophic flagellates including HABs (Harmful Algal Blooms) species as well as their interannual variabilities in the oil spill sites could be utilized as markers for the stable and long-term management of healthy ecosystems. For this type of scientific ecosystem management monitoring of chlorophyll concentrations may sometimes be insufficient to gain a proper and comprehensive understanding of phytoplankton communities located in areas where oil spills have occurred and harmed the ecosystem.

  • 세계 제조업은 장기적인 경기침체, 노동 원가 및 원자재 가격 상승으로 성장 한계에 봉착하게 되었으며, 이에 대한 해결방안으로 ICT와 센서 기술을 바탕으로 제조업의 4차 산업혁명을 진행하고 있다. 이러한 흐름에 따라 화학 산업에서의 스마트공장보급 확산과 스마트제조 기술 향상을 위해, 본 논문은 스마트 제조혁신을 위한 보호필름 공정 제조데이터 활용모델의 설계를 제안한다. 보호필름 공정 중에서 원료 배합 및 교반, 압출, 그리고 검수 공정에 대해서 온도, 압력, 습도, 그리고 동영상 및 열화상의 제조 데이터를 획득한다. 또한 획득된 제조 데이터는 대용량 스토리지에 저장되며, AI 서비스에 의한 시계열 및 이미지 분석과 시각화가 진행된다.

Banking Sector Depth and Economic Growth: Empirical Evidence from Vietnam

  • The Vietnamese economy is a developing country that has brought many opportunities and challenges for the banking system. Commercial banks have developed strongly from quality to quantity, which plays a vital role in developing the economy. They play an important role in capital formation, which is essential for the economic development of a country. They provide financial services to the general public and businesses, ensuring economic and social stability and sustainable growth of the economy. Therefore, the relationship between bank depth and economic growth is of importance in research. This paper used a VAR (Vector Autoregressive Models) estimator for time series data models. The data is collected quarterly from the first quarter of the year 2000 to 2020. The study uses the VAR model to examine the causal relationships of economic growth, growth in money supply expansion, private sector capital requirement, and banks' domestic credit. The results indicate a general short-run relationship between banking sector depth and economic growth with a positive connection, but in the long term, the relationship between these variables can be reversed because of other macro factors. The findings show the two-way causal relationship between GDP growth and banking depth factors. This research contributes to policy-making by underlining the banking sector depth determinants when setting regulations and policies to develop the banking sector.
