  • The objectives of the study were to explore the employment factors associated with long working hours, known as a risk factor for various health outcomes. The study relied on the national representative data of the 2013 French working conditions survey and a study sample of 23,378 full-time employees. Long working hours were defined by the threshold of 48 hours a week following the European Working Time Directive. The prevalence of long working hours was higher among men (13.5%) than among women (8.5%). Employees of the private sector, with permanent work contract, in small companies, and men in the services had a higher prevalence of exposure. This prevalence increased with educational and occupational levels. Our findings may help decision-makers to define preventive strategies. More research is needed to improve our knowledge of the employment factors associated with long working hours, as there may be strong differences between countries.

  • Forecasting the U.S. employment level is made using machine learning methods of the artificial neural network: deep neural network, long short term memory (LSTM), gated recurrent unit (GRU). We consider the big data of the federal reserve economic data among which 105 important macroeconomic variables chosen by McCracken and Ng (Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, 34, 574-589, 2016) are considered as predictors. We investigate the influence of the two statistical issues of the dimension reduction and time series differencing on the machine learning forecast. An out-of-sample forecast comparison shows that (LSTM, GRU) with differencing performs better than the autoregressive model and the dimension reduction improves long-term forecasts and some short-term forecasts.

  • Dental hygienists are important members of any dental clinic. They are recognized as reflecting the dental clinic's image because they spend a lot of time with patients. The longer the dental hygienist is employed, the better the relationship with the patients and the medical service provided. The purpose of the present study was to develop a scale to measure factors of long-term employment among dental hygienists. The basic questions were constructed by analyzing tools used to measure job embeddedness and satisfaction. Forty-one questions were developed that measured organizational fit (13), interpersonal relationships (8), job satisfaction (7), duty satisfaction (6), recognition (4), and self-esteem (3). A questionnaire survey was conducted, and the responses from 297 dental hygienists in dental clinics, after the exclusion of 20 incomplete surveys, were used for the exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. As revealed by exploratory factor analysis, long-term employment intention was composed of 7 factors consisting of 29 items after the exclusion of 12. The subsequent confirmatory factor analysis revealed 4 factors ("organizational fit," "professional identity," "job connectivity," and "interpersonal relationship") consisting of 16 items, after the exclusion of 13. $Cronbach^{\prime}s\;{\alpha}$ were 0806, 0.836, 0.700, and 0.684 for the four factors. This study is meaningful in that it developed a long-term employment factor measurement tool that can be applied to domestic dental hygienists. Future studies will need to focus more on professional identity and job outcomes. The results of this study and future related ones could be used to improve dental hygienist's continuous service.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of satisfaction or dissatisfaction of a franchise organization training program on its achievements. For the training program variables, it takes a motivation, a role perception, and a customer directivity as independent variables, and satisfaction or dissatistaction as a parameter. Also, it regards operation capability improvements, satisfaction of the job, and a will for a long-time employment as a dependent variable, then it presents the results by using SPSS/PC+ statistics methods. The results shows that satisfaction of training programs affect the long-time employment a lot. Therefore, for a long-run growth of the franchise organization, it is important to carry out proper training programs. The introduction(part I) contains the subject proposal and the purpose of the study, and theological background(part II) shows the definition and quality of a franchise organization, and some expectations from training programs such as motivations, role perceptions, and customer directivity. Also, part III presents the study model, hypothesis, and analyzing methods. For the last, part IV shows the verification of statistic results, then part V presents the conclusion.

  • This study focused on time use and the influencing factors of employed wives. Its aims are specified as follows.:1) to figure out the tendency of time use spent on a holiday and weekday by employed wives ; (2) to find out factors influencing the amount of time in each domain spent on each day. The samples were composed for 396 employed wives living in Seoul and Kwangju city who had the eldest child less than 18years old. were sampled based on their work kind, work status, and residential quarter. The results are as follows; 1) Employed wives spend 423 minutes a weekday, and 513 minutes a holiday on the sleep and 522 minutes(weekday ), 618 minutes (holiday) on the total Physiological time 599 minutes (weekday), 72 minutes(holiday) were devoted to the employed time. compared to 214 minutes. 395 minutes for the housework Finally 103 minutes and 349 minutes were assigned to leisure time. Compared with the research results in Japan and the United States, this shows large difference. Korean wives; work time is excessively too long while the time for leisure and psysiological time is too short, which means the life style of Korean wives ti too simple and monotonous. 2) Social demographic variables(such as work status, education, income, wive's relative income rate, family type. family number, the younger child's age, and etc. )and variables connected with employment (such as employed work time and employment motivation) significantly differentiate the time use. A wive with higher education, employment status, and income level, spends more time for the psysiological , leisure time, and manegerial housework time, while spending less time for work and physical housework.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the factors related to leisure time to understand middle-aged one-person households. Data are from the recent survey of lifetime use in 2014 by Statistics Korea(N=1,138). Middle-aged one-person households aged 40-59 years were categorized into four groups by marital status (unmarried/married/widowed/divorced). Major results were found as follows: First, the total leisure time per day was 238 min in the middle-aged one-person households. The majority of the total leisure time was spent on 'fellowship & leisure activities'(204 min on weekdays, 283 min on weekends). Especially, time spent on real-time TV watching hours was the longest, as long as 89 min on weekday and 150 min on weekends. Second, gender differences were significant in terms of leisure time use in the middle-aged one-person households. Females spent less time on leisure than their male counterparts on both weekdays and weekends. In addition, gender differences related to marital status were significant. Third, on weekdays, the determinants of leisure time use among the middle-aged one-person households were health and type of employment for 'participation & volunteer activities', and gender, age, marital status, and type of employment variables for 'fellowship & leisure activities.' On weekends, time spent on 'participation & volunteer activities' were influenced by marital status, residential area, and type of employment, while time spent on 'fellowship & leisure activities' were significantly related to gender, type of employment, type of job, holiday system, and income.

  • A model to predict population by sex, age and district over a long-range period is proposed based on fuzzy theories. First, a fuzzy model is described. Second, a method to estimate the social increase by sex and age in each district is proposed based on a fuzzy clustering method for dealing with long-range socioeconomic changes in population migration. By the proposed methods, it became possible to predict the population by sex, age and district over a long-range period. Third, the structure and characteristics of the three models of employment model, time distance model, and land use model constructed to predict various socioeconomic indicators, which are require...

  • This research work aims to investigate the role of FDI in Economic Development by assessing its relationship with GDP per capita in Vietnam +5 from 1986-2020. Through descriptive statistical, correlation matrix analysis, and econometric models, including Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) and Feasible Generalized Least Squares (FGLS) estimation methods using Stata 15.1. The VECM estimation method results show that FDI positively impacts Economic Development in the short run while not finding a long-run relationship. In addition, it is found that a clear relationship between Exports and Economic Development in both the short run and the long run. Meanwhile, CO2 emissions and Employment Opportunities have no clear relationship with Economic Development in the short run. However, the relationship is reversed in the long run, as the empirical study in Vietnam. The results of the FGLS estimation method show that FDI, CO2 emissions, and Exports have a significant and positive impact on Economic Development in five selected Southeast Asian countries without Employment Opportunities in the long run. From these findings, the author proposes some policy implications of attaching FDI to sustainable Economic Development in Vietnam next time.
