  • In this paper, we propose that logistics companies will have different business models when using blockchain technology. In addition, it intends to understand the difference in absorptive capacity and performance of logistics companies using blockchain technology. In order to achieve this research objective, this study conducted a survey on logistics companies and analyzed the collected data. Cluster analysis was performed to understand the business model, and ANOVA was performed to understand the significance of cluster analysis. The difference in absorptive capacity and performance was analyzed according to the business model identified through cluster analysis. In addition, PLS analysis was conducted to determine the difference in absorption capacity and performance. The results show that logistics companies have different types of business models in adopting blockchain technology. Logistics companies groups with high degree of development of business models showed high results in terms of absorption capacity and performance level.

  • The unit of competition is not a single firm any more but group of firms. They make a supply chain and compete with other chains. In this study we investigate success factors of supply chains from the supplying firms perspective. We consider various success factors such as commitmet trust communication confilct re-solving techniques vendor selection process and incentive systems. A set of hypotheses is tested based on the data collected from the electronics and automobile part manufacturers. Samples are divided by the length of the relationship between the vendor and assembler. joint problem solving under the long-term relationship plays an important role for the success of the supply chain. The findings offer insight into how to better manage the sup-ply chains.

  • Recently, the cluster-based industrial policy has become a powerful policy tool for strengthening the competitiveness of nations, industries and firms. The concept of cluster develops as firms choose to locate in each others proximity. Cluster concept can be usefully applied to analyze cluster of port-related activities. Port cluster can be used as a systematic foundation for providing one-stop value added logistics service to its customers. The main purpose of this paper is to suggest a way for establishing the port cluster in Korean seaport. For this aim, the paper defines a concept of port cluster and examines the its necessity. And the procedure for establishment of port cluster in Korea is proposed. In addition, the paper analyzed the port cluster structure-conduit-performance. Especially, the role of port cluster's participants, central and local government, universities and related R&D institutes, and private companies, are suggested respectively. As a conclusion, policy suggestions for the establishment of port cluster in Korea are suggested.

  • Effects of food scandals on religious belief, human health and even on causes of death indicate that firms and consumers are vulnerable to integrity risks in the global supply chain. Mitigating the integrity risk and maintaining the credence quality products like halal food is very challenging, if not impossible. Our aim in this research is to show that supply chain integration can mitigate the halal food integrity risk. To illustrate this idea, we have conducted case studies and interviews in seven Malaysian chicken supply chain focal firms. We unpack the halal integrity risks along the supply chain, such as production risk, raw material risk, food security risk, outsourcing practices risk, service risk, and logistics risk. The research argues that supply chain integration, such as internal integration and external integration practices, could minimize the halal integrity risk. The advantages of supply chain integration in mitigating the halal integrity risk are also highlighted in this paper.

  • The third party logistics is a new developing industry in China and is still in infancy stage. China's third party logistics market only represents 3.39% of the Logistics market in 2006. As international multinational corporations have taken part in China market, they use their current 3PL providers to assist them to deal with the substantial logistics issues that exist in expanding their business activities in China. Traditional 3PL services such as transportation, warehousing and customs clearance are main in China's 3PL market. A variety of domestic laws and regulations on logistics in China prevent 3PL Providers from supplying value-added additional services to their users. Chinese firms have not yet supply high value-added services in China's 3PL logistics market. The purpose of this paper is to contribute the activation of third party logistics in China by analyzing the present situations, and presenting the solutions to problems of Third-Party Logistics in China.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between absorptive capacity and innovation performance of Chinese high-tech enterprises and focuses on the mediating role of innovation culture in high-tech enterprises. Data came from surveying high-tech enterprises in China, and the reliability analysis, factor analysis, and correlation analysis, path analysis (SEM) were analyzed using SPSS23, AMOS. The results show that intellectual capital composed of human capital, structural capital, and relational has a significant impact on acquisition performance; intellectual capital is composed of human capital; structural capital has a significant influence on innovation performance; and absorptive capital has a significant impact on innovation performance. In addition, innovative culture plays a partial mediating role between absorptive capacity and innovation performance. The findings of this study suggest that, to ensure the better absorption and operation of knowledge, high-tech enterprises can accumulate more knowledge, promote the transformation of knowledge into technology, and strengthen the capability of knowledge absorptive capacity, and at the same time, create an innovation culture atmosphere and encourage employees to develop new products to achieve enterprise goals in order to promote the improvement of innovation performance.

  • This study investigates the correlation between financial constraints and investment activities in Korean logistics firms. A sample of 340 companies engaged in the transportation sector, as per the 2021 KSIC, was selected for analysis. Financial data obtained from the DART were used to compile a panel dataset spanning from 1996 to 2021, totaling 6,155 observations. The research model was validated, and tests for heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation in the error terms were conducted considering the panel data structure. The relationship between investment activities in the previous period and current investment activities was analyzed using panel Generalized Method of Moments(GMM). The validation results of the research indicate that Korean logistics firms tend to increase investment activities as their level of financial constraints improves. Specifically, a positive relationship between the level of financial constraints and investment activities was consistently observed across all models. These findings suggest that investment decision-making varies based on the financial constraints faced by companies, aligning with previous research indicating that investment activities of constrained firms are subdued. Moreover, while the results from the model examining whether investment activities in the previous period affect current investment activities indicated an influence of investment activities from the previous period on current investment activities, the investment activities from two periods ago did not show a significant relationship with current investment activities. Among the control variables, firm size and cash flow variables exhibited positive relationships, while debt size and asset diversification variables showed negative relationships. Thus, larger firm size and smoother cash flows were associated with more proactive investment activities, while high debt levels and extensive asset diversification appeared to constrain investment activities in logistics companies. These results interpret that under financial constraints, internal funding sources such as cash flows exhibit positive relationships, whereas external capital sources such as debt demonstrate negative relationships, consistent with empirical findings from previous research.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze export competitiveness of Korean auto parts and Chinese auto parts in U.S. market by using Index of Export Bias and Market Comparative Advantage Index. For attaining the purpose of study, we classified the auto parts which exported to U.S. market and the imported products by using the six units classification of the Harmonized System(HS). Analyzing period was 1998-2005. The analysis of Korean results of MCA indicated that the Korean auto parts which gained export competitiveness in the U.S. market were HS Code No. 8708.94, 8708.99, 8708.92. The products which will have export competitiveness in the U.S. market would be HS Code No. 8708.93, 8708.39, 8708.60 respectively. On the other hand, the results indicated that the Chinese auto parts which gained export competitiveness in the U.S. market were HS Code No. 8708.70, 8708.31, 8708.91, 8708.60, 8708.39. From this study, we find the following strategies for successful advancing into the U.S. and world market. i) Linking strategy through working cooperation with local auto firms, government and academic world. ii) Advance strategy of auto firm accompany by module working and system auto parts firm. iii) Retention strategy of large technical institution established by auto parts firms and taking cooperation of auto firms iv) Settlement strategy for having weaken competitive article and production field. v) Cost-cutting strategy through strengthening logistics cooperation system between auto parts firms and auto firms. vi) Active invitation strategy of foreign investment under quickly cooperating of government.
