A log is for text monitoring and perceiving the issues of a system during the development and operation of a program. Based on the log, system developers and operators can trace the cause of an issue. In the development phase, it is relatively simple for a log to be traced while there are only a small number of personnel uses of a system such as developers and testers. However, it is the difficult to trace a log when many people can use the system in the operation phase. In major cases, because a log cannot be tracked, even tracing is dropped. This study proposed a simplified tracing of a log during the system operation. Thus, the purpose is to create a log on the run time based on an ID/IP, using features provided by the Logback. It saves an ID/IP of the tracking user on a DB, and loads the user's ID/IP onto the memory to trace once WAS starts running. Before the online service operates, an Interceptor is executed to decide whether to load a log file, and then it generates the service requested by a certain user in a separate log file. The load is insignificant since the arithmetic operation occurs in a JVM, although every service must pass through the Interceptor to be executed.
The process of tracking suspicious behavior manually on a system and gathering evidence are labor-intensive, variable, and experience-dependent. The system logs are the most important sources for evidences in this process. However, in the Microsoft Windows operating system, the action events are irregular and the log structure is difficult to audit. In this paper, we propose a model that overcomes these problems and efficiently analyzes Microsoft Windows logs. The proposed model extracts lists of both common and key events from the Microsoft Windows logs to determine detailed actions. In addition, we show an approach based on the proposed model applied to track illegal file access. The proposed approach employs three-step tracking templates using Elastic Stack as well as key-event, common-event lists and identify event lists, which enables visualization of the data for analysis. Using the three-step model, analysts can adjust the depth of their analysis.
An enterprise patch-management system (PMS) typically supplies a single point of failure (SPOF) of centralization structure. However, a Blockchain system offers features of decentralization, transaction integrity, user certification, and a smart chaincode. This study proposes a Hyperledger Fabric Blockchain-based distributed patch-management system and verifies its technological feasibility through prototyping, so that all participating users can be protected from various threats. In particular, by adopting a private chain for patch file set management, it is designed as a Blockchain system that can enhance security, log management, latest status supervision and monitoring functions. In addition, it uses a Hyperledger Fabric that owns a practical Byzantine fault tolerant consensus algorithm, and implements the functions of upload patch file set, download patch file set, and audit patch file history, which are major features of PMS, as a smart contract (chaincode), and verified this operation. The distributed ledger structure of Blockchain-based PMS can be a solution for distributor and client authentication and forgery problems, SPOF problem, and distribution record reliability problem. It not only presents an alternative to dealing with central management server loads and failures, but it also provides a higher level of security and availability.

Big data management is becoming an increasingly important issue in both industry and academia of information science community today. One of the important categories of big data generated from software systems is log data. Log data is generally used for better services in various service providers and can also be used to improve system reliability. In this paper, we propose a novel big data management architecture specialized for log data. The proposed architecture provides a scalable log management system that consists of client and server side modules for efficient handling of log data. To support large and simultaneous log data from multiple clients, we adopt the Hadoop infrastructure in the server-side file system for storing and managing log data efficiently. We implement the proposed architecture to support various client environments and validate the efficiency through measurement studies. The results show that the proposed architecture performs better than the existing logging architecture by 42.8% on average. All components of the proposed architecture are implemented based on open source software and the developed prototypes are now publicly available.

The main thing that IT operation managers consider is protecting assets of corporation from system failure and disaster. Therefore, this research proposed a backup system for a disaster recovery. Previous backup method is that if database update occurs, this record is saved in redo log, and if the size of record file is over than expected, this file is saved in archive log in order. Thus, it is possible to occur errors of data loss from the process of data backup which change in real time while changes of database occur. Suggested backup system is back redo log up to database of transaction log in real time, and back a record that can be omitted from previous backup method up to archive log. When recover the data, it is possible to recover redo log in real time online, and it minimizes data loss. Also, throughout multi thread processing method data recovery is performed and it is designed that system performance is improved. To verify stability of backup system CPN(Coloured Petri Net) is introduced, and each step of backup system is displayed in diagram form, and th e stability is verified based on the definition and theorem of CPN.
The amount of web traffic has increased as a result of the rapid growth of the use of web-based applications. In order to obtain valuable information from web logs, we need to develop systems that can support interactive, flexible, and efficient ways to analyze and handle large amounts of data. In this paper, we present CERES, a log-based, interactive web analytics system for backbone networks. Since CERES focuses on analyzing web log records generated from backbone networks, it is possible to perform a web analysis from the perspective of a network. CERES is designed for deployment in a server cluster using the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) as the underlying storage. We transform and store web log records from backbone networks into relations and then allow users to use a SQL-like language to analyze web log records in a flexible and interactive manner. In particular, we use the data cube technique to enable the efficient statistical analysis of web log. The system provides users a web-based, multi-modal user interface.

If an error occurs during operation of the video wall controller, the control system creates a log file and records the log. In order to minimize the load on the system due to log recording, the log level is set so that the log is not recorded as much as possible under normal operating conditions. When an error occurs, detailed logs are recorded by changing the log level to analyze and respond to the cause of the error. So work efficiency is reduced, and operator intervention is inevitable to change the log level. In this paper, we propose a model that automatically sets the log level according to the operating situation using Contextual Bandit.
A Web-Based Information System(WBIS), a typical structure of recently information systems, should be dynamically restructured in order to satisfy user's need and make a profit. Thus, we should analyze and modelize the navigational structure of WBIS and utilize it by modeling the navigational structure of behavior of user through log-file as system restructuring. In this paper, we propose the modeling method for navigational structure and user behavior to restructure WBIS including shopping mall. Also, we suggest the structural model, state transition model, Petri net model and analysis method and analyze and implement modeling algorithm for user behavior to analyze log-file of it. Then, we propose some restructuring heuristic and apply the methods to the example of WBIS.

Recently internal information leakage in industries is severely increasing in spite of industry security policy. Thus, it is essential to prepare an information leakage prevention measure by industries. Most of the leaks result from the insiders, not from external attacks. In this paper, a real-time internal information leakage prevention system via both storage and network is implemented in order to protect confidential file leakage. In addition, a Hadoop-based user behavior analysis and statistics system is designed and implemented for storing and analyzing information log data in industries. The proposed system stores a large volume of data in HDFS and improves data processing capability using RHive, consequently helps the administrator recognize and prepare the confidential file leak trials. The implemented audit system would be contributed to reducing the damage caused by leakage of confidential files inside of the industries via both portable data media and networks.
Storage snapshot technology allows to preserve data at a specific point in time, and recover and access data at a desired point in time. It is an essential technology for storage protection application. Existing snapshot methods have some problems in that they dependent on storage hardware vendor, file system or virtual block device. In this paper, we propose a new snapshot method for solving the problems and creating snapshots on-line. The proposed snapshot method uses a method of extracting the log records of update operations at the virtual file system layer to enable the snapshot method to operate independently on file systems, virtual block devices, and storage hardwares. In addition, the proposed snapshot mehod creates and manages snapshots for directories and files without interruption to the storage service. Finally, through experiments we measure the snapshot creation time and the performance degradation caused by the snapshot.
