THE EFFECT OF MASKED SIGNAL ON THE PERFORMANCE OF GNSS CODE TRACKING SYSTEM

  • The main purpose of this paper is to describe the code tracking performance of a non-coherent digital delay lock loop (DLL) or coherent DLL while tracking GNSS signal in the presence of signal masking. The masking effect is usually caused by buildings that obscure the signal in either a periodic or random manner. In some cases, ideal masking is used to remove random or periodic interference. Three types of the masked signal are considered - no masking, periodic masking, and random masking of the signal input to the receiver. The mean time to lose lock (MTLL) of the code tracking loop are evaluated, and some numerical result and simulation results are reported. Finally, the steadystate tracking errors on the performance of the tracking loop in interference environment are also presented.

  • Anti-lock brake system(ABS) are designed to prevent wheel lock on all wheels of the vehicle by sensing wheel angular speed, processing the speed sensor signals in suitable digital electronic control circuits and comanding electrohydraulic actuators to control brake pressure. This study considers a control of ABS using wheel circumferential acceleration thresholds which avoids dangerous wheel locking due to excessive brake pressure during the vehicle braking and discusses the 3-channels, 3-sensors ABS system that employs "independent control" technique for the front wheels and "select low" technique for the rear wheels. The validities of the ABS such as vehicle stability, steerability and stopping distance during braking are assured through the vehicle tests on uniform asphalt straight roads.

  • Anti-lock Brake System has been developed to reduce tendency for wheel lock and improve vehicle control during sudden braking on slippery road surfaces. This is achieved by controlling the braking pressure, avoiding wheel lock, while retaining handling and brake performance. This paper is concerned about pressurecharacteristics of hydraulic modulator. Experimental sets which is consists of hydraulic modulator, duty controller, pressure regulator, pressure senset is consuructed. System modelling and computer simulation are performed for comparison with experimental results. Brake wheel pressure are measured under various driving pulse. The result of experiment show fairly agreement with the simulation. As a result, it is known that wheel pressure is affected by duty ratio, orifice diameter through computer simulation.

This paper is concerned about characteristics of a solenoid valve in hydraulic modulator for controlling brake pressure. First, it was modeling the electromagnet by the permeance method. Second, it was modeling the commercial Maxwell poackage program. And then, a experiment was performed in order to justify modeling. The result of modeling coincided with teh result of experiment and commercial packabe program. As a result, these modelings will be able to use in analysis of dynamic character- istics of the solenoid valve for braking.

Analysis on Operational Current and Current Distribution between Two Coils of flux-lock Type SFCL (자속구속형 고온초전도 전류제한기의 동작전류와 각 코일의 전류분류 분석)

  • A flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) consists of two coils, which are wound in parallel each other through an iron core, and a high-$T_c$ Superconducting(HTSC) thin film connected in series with coil 2. If the current of the HTSC thin film exceeds its critical current by the fault accident, the resistance of the HTSC thin film generated, and thereby the fault current can be limited by the impedance of the fluk-lock type SFCL. In this paper, we investigated the dependence of both the fault current limiting characteristics and the current distribution between two coils on the operational current of the flux-lock type SFCL through the equivalent circuit analyses and short circuit tests. From the comparison of both the results, the experimental results well agreed with the analyses for equivalent circuit.

  • Explosive bolts are reliable and efficient mechanical fastening devices having the special feature of a built-in release. The disadvantage of explosive bolt lies in that it is based on the high explosive effect of a pyrotechnic charge. The aim of the present work is to propose a pyrotechnically releasable mechanical linking device for two mechanical elements that does not suffer from such drawbacks. The pyro-lock using the pressure cartridge has the release characteristic without fragmentation and minimum pyro-shock. The present work is focused on the design, the interpretation of structure, the separation mechanism, separation force, and the results of various tests.

Variations of Initial Fault Current Limiting Instant According to Fault Angles in the Flux-lock Type SFCL (자속 구속형 전류제한기의 사고각에 따른 초기 사고전류 제한 시점 변화분석)

  • In this paper, we investigated the variations of initial fault current limiting instant according to fault angles in the flux-lock type SFCL. The flux-lock type SFCL consists of the coil 1 and the coil 2 that are wound in parallel each other through an iron core. The operation of the flux-lock type SFCL can be divided into the subtractive polarity winding and the additive polarity winding operations according to the winding directions between the coil 1 and coil 2. The subtractive polarity winding operation could be analyzed with three modes. On the other hand, the additive polarity winding operation could be analyzed with five modes. The variations of initial fault current limiting instant in two winding directions were dependent on the fault angles. It was confirmed from experiment that the fault current limiting instant was getting faster and the magnitude of fault current at the initial fault time was getting higher for higher fault angle.

  • Superconducting fault currents(SFCLs) are expected to improve not only reliability but also stability of real power systems. The analysis on the single line-to-ground fault of the integrated three phase flux-lock type SFCL, which consists of three flux-lock reactor wound on an iron core in each single phase and three YBCO thin films, was investigated in current limiting operation characteristics. We compared 21turn numbers with 42turn numbers according to wound turn numbers each the coil 2 under the additive polarity winding operation between coil 1 and coil 2. The three phase flux-lock type SFCL using an iron core differently operates general three phase resistive SFCLs. When a single line-to-ground fault occurred, the SFCL's three units were quenched after fault onset. We confirmed effective current limiting operation characteristics with adjustable inductance level.

  • In this paper, we investigated the operational characteristics of the fault current limiting in the The flux-lock type high-Tc superconducting fault current limiter. The flux-lock type high-Tc superconducting fault current limiter was consisted of primary and secondary copper coils that flux was locked on iron core and YBCO thin film. The operational characteristic of a flux-lock type SFCL dependent on winding direction of coil 1 and coil 2, and the number of turns of coil 1 and coil 2, inductances of the coils, saturation in iron core, the properties of superconducting element etc. In this cases, we investigated the fault currents limiting characteristics of the flux-lock type SFCL when winding direction of coil 1 and coil 2 was subtractive polarity winding.
