Image Clustering using Geo-Location Awareness

  • This paper suggests a method of automatic clustering to search of relevant digital photos using geo-coded information. The provided scheme labels photo images with their corresponding global positioning system coordinates and date/time at the moment of capture, and the labels are used as clustering metadata of the images when they are in the use of retrieval. Experimental results show that geo-location information can improve the accuracy of image retrieval, and the information embedded within the images are effective and precise on the image clustering.

  • 이 논문은 RFID를 이용한 무선 위치 인식 기술에 대한 것이다. 데이터의 RF 분석에 의한 수신된 신호의 강도로써 위치를 파악하고 위치 특성을 이해하는 실험을 하였다. 이 실험 시스템은 외부 환경 요인을 고려한 상태에서 5000대의 단말기를 이용하여 연구하였다. 이 위치 서비스는 특히 구매, 물류, 제조와 같은 일반산업, 자동조명/공조연동, 주차장 GATE 연동 서비스 등과 같은 많은 산업에서 이용될 것이다. 이 기술의 최적 솔루션은 일상생활의 지능형 정보가 필요하는 데이터의 저장과 접촉 비접촉에 토대를 둔 스마트 카드(전화카드, 은행카드..)등에도 이용될 것이다. 실내 위치 실험 방법은 서비스 및 추정된 위치 데이터를 이용한다. 이 연구의 결과는 아래와 같다. 첫째, Active RFID의 위치인식 시스템 설치 운영의 효율성과 둘째, 실내 무선위치 시스템의 추후 지능형 정보가 필요하는 여러 분야에서의 적용 가능성실험에 있다.

  • The advance of wireless telecommunication and observation technologies leads developing sensor and sensor network for serving the context information continuously. Besides, in order to understand and cope with the context awareness based on the sensor network, it is becoming important issue to deal with plentiful data transmitted from various sensors. Therefore, we propose a context awareness system to deal with the plentiful sensor data in a vast area such as the prevention of a forest fire, the warning system for detecting environmental pollution, and the analysis of the traffic information, etc. The proposed system consists of the context acquisition to collect and store various sensor data, the knowledge base to keep context information and context log, the rule manager to process context information depending on user defined rules, and the situation information manager to analysis and recognize the context, etc. The proposed system is implemented for managing renewable energy data management transmitted from a large scale area.

  • $IP^2$, as an extended concept of the next generation IMT network, is a concept of basically supporting mobility using two steps of IP address (i.e. IPha (IP Host address) and IPra (IP routing address)) in IP backbone network. Current $IP^2$system has a shortcoming of excess usage of network resources caused by sending paging messages to all cells in LA (Location Area) in paging procedure. Considering the evolving direction of network, which is taking mobility with various speed and integration of devices into consideration, this shortcoming must be overcome. In this paper, we proposed a method to reduce time and memory for paging by maintaining current information of MN (Mobile Node) not in Active state with proxy server. Performance evaluation based on NS-2 simulations has shown that the efficiency of network resources is improved in the proposed method.

차량요 항법시스템 기반의 새로운 correlator 구조에 따른 성능 향상에 관한 연구 (The performance improvement of new correlator architecture in vehicles navigation system)

  • 이 논문은 실외에서 실시간 적이고 안정적이며 정확도가 높은 위치 인식 정보 및 위치 기반 서비스 제공을 위한 복합 위치인식 알고리즘 개발에 초점을 둔다. 현재 사용 중인 위성 항법 시스템에 갈릴레오 위성 항법 시스템을 병행하여 사용할 경우 사용 주파수의 증가와 가시 위성의 증가로 전리층 오차 등 여러 가지 오차 요인을 줄일 수 있다. 따라서 더 이상 거리 오차는 위치 인식에서는 문제가 되지 않는다. 하지만 노이즈로인해 생기는 chips 등기 오차는 acquisition이나 tracking 지연 오차를 유발하게 되어 수신기의 성능을 저하시킨다. 이를 해결하기 위하여 이 논문에서는 고 정밀도 향상을 위한 correlator를 제안하여 수신기의 성능 향상에 그 목적이 있다.

  • In these days, providing flexible and personalized network services subject to customers' requirements becomes an interesting issue for network service providers. Moreover, because each network service provider own finite network resources and infrastructure, dynamic network provisioning is essential to leverage the limited network resources efficiently and effectively for supporting personalized network services. Recently, as the population of mobile devices increases, the location-awareness becomes as important as the QoS-awareness to provision a network service dynamically. In this paper, we propose a framework for providing location-aware dynamic network services. This framework includes the web user interface for obtaining customers' requirements such as locations and QoS, the network generator for mapping the requested locations and network infrastructure, the network path calculator for selecting routes to meet the requested QoS and the network controller for deploying a prepared network services into SDN(Software-Defined Networking) enabled network infrastructure.

Development of Tracking Filter for the Location Awareness of Moving Objects in Ubiquitous Computing

  • In this paper, I have presented a new approach which can track moving objects in unknown environments. This scheme is important in providing a computationally feasible alternative to complete enumeration of JPDA which is intractable. I have proved that given an artificial measurement and track's configuration, proposed scheme converges to a proper plot in a finite number of iterations. In this light, even if the performance is enhanced by using the relaxation, we also note that the difficulty in tuning the parameters of the relaxation scheme is critical aspect of this suggestion.

A Jini-Based Ubiquitous Messaging System Supporting Context Awareness and User Mobility

  • In ubiquitous environments, context is any information that can be used to characterize the situation of an entity such as a person or an object. Many sensors and small computers collect contexts and provide applications with them. Thus, ubiquitous applications need to represent contexts and exploit them effectively. In this paper, we design and implement a context-aware messaging system, called UMS (Ubiquitous Messaging System), based on Java and Jini. UMS can represent various contexts using XML scripts, and communicate text messages regardless of user's location using the proxy mechanism of Jini.

  • Various techniques have been proposed for detection and tracking of targets in order to develop a real-world computer vision system, e.g., visual surveillance systems, intelligent transport systems (ITSs), and so forth. Especially, the idea of distributed vision system is required to realize these techniques in a wide-spread area. In this paper, we develop a ubiquitous vision system for location-awareness of multiple targets. Here, each vision sensor that the system is composed of can perform exact segmentation for a target by color and motion information, and visual tracking for multiple targets in real-time. We construct the ubiquitous vision system as the multiagent system by regarding each vision sensor as the agent (the vision agent). Therefore, we solve matching problem for the identity of a target as handover by protocol-based approach. We propose the identified contract net (ICN) protocol for the approach. The ICN protocol not only is independent of the number of vision agents but also doesn't need calibration between vision agents. Therefore, the ICN protocol raises speed, scalability, and modularity of the system. We adapt the ICN protocol in our ubiquitous vision system that we construct in order to make an experiment. Our ubiquitous vision system shows us reliable results and the ICN protocol is successfully operated through several experiments.
