낙뢰측정 네트워크(KLDNet)를 위한 감지기 사이트서베이와 낙뢰 감지율 검토 (A study on the Site Survey and Detection Efficiency for Kepco Lightning Detection and Information Network)

  • Lightning induced faults accounts for more than 66% at the transmission lines of KEPCO. The lightning causes damages to power system equipments including transmission line, the blackout of electricity and the electro-magnetic interference. Because of this reason, we need the real time lightning information for the optimal operation of power system. And, it is required to obtain and accumulate the lightning current parameters for the insulation design. In 2005, KEPRI constructed a lightning detection network, the KLDNet (i.e. Kepco Lightning Detection & Information System) and launched a lightning information service for KEPCO customers. It is intended to provide data service on the operation of transmission lines and collect lightning-related data, which is the most important factor regulating power system design and operation. The new system will replace LPATS, the old detection system, which has been operating since 1995 and is rapidly failing in terms of both detection performance and location accuracy. The purpose of this paper is to explain the work performed and the results of that work in performing a site survey of several locations. The purpose of the site survey is to find locations acceptable for the installation of a lightning location receiver in support of a Lightning detection system(LDS). A restriction was placed on the surveyed locations, as they must belong to the Korea Electric Power Company. This requirement was made to facilitate the communication needs of the LDS network. Total of 15 sites were evaluated as possible LDS sensor sites. Some of the sites were rejected for physical reasons and therefore no electrical testing was performed. Of the 15 sites, total of 10 sites were considered acceptable and 5 sites were rejected for various reason. In this paper, we would like to explain the site survey and detection efficiency for LDS.

  • Free-field ground motion during earthquake is significantly affected by the local site conditions and it is essential for the seismic design to perform the ground response analysis In this study, ground response analyses based on the equivalent linear method were carried out to evaluate the effects of various ground conditions on the site amplification. Four major factors including the depth of the site(very soft and dense soil), the impedance ratio between soil layer and bed rock, linear analysis versus equivalent linear analysis, and the location of soft soil layer were deeply discussed. Based on the analysis results, the importance of various local site conditions on the site amplification was emphasized.

남극 세종기지의 전산유동해석에 의한 풍력자원평가 (Wind Resource Assessment of the Antarctic King Sejong Station by Computational Flow Analysis)

  • In accordance with Madrid and Kyoto Protocols, a 10kW wind turbine installed about 625m away from the King Sejong Station in the Antarctica has been in operation successfully. The current location of the wind turbine has different geographic surroundings from the previous candidate site considered in 2005 and that makes re-evaluation of wind resource at the current site including geographic effects necessary. Especially, strong wind flow derived by steep and complex terrain is dominant in the Antarctica so that computational flow analysis is required. The wind rose measured at the previous and current installation location are identical with strong meteorological correlation but prevailing directions of wind power density are different because of local wind acceleration due to complex terrain. Numerical analysis explains which effects brings this discordance between the two sites, and a design guideline required for additional wind turbine installation has been secured.

국립공원내 야영장의 이용 만족도 분석 -설악산 국립공원 설악동 지구를 중심으로- (Analysis of visitor's satisfaction on camp site in national park -Focused on Sorakdong district in Mount Sorak National Park­)

  • The survey of user's satisfactory degree of location, plantings, facilities, operation, and management factors on national parks' camp sites was carried out. Many problems were analyzed and identified. This survey was for proposing the correct way to plan and draft for camping site after this. In addition to, the realization of environmental education through nature friendly recreation was aimed at. According to the result of the survey, the followings were suggested as necessities to improve the camp site. 1. Repair and replacement of insufficiently managed facilities should be aimed at. 2. Facilities for a handicapped person should be preferentially introduced. 3. Active management and publicity in low-demand season that practiced by developed countries should be carried out. Seasonal program for various age groups should be operated. 4. Surrounding tourist site, camp site, and trail should be organically connected by shuttle bus and other transports. A survey was carried out for the user satisfaction in the campsites of national parks. Based on this survey concerned with the location, planting, facilities, operation and management, the problems were identified and analysed to improve future design and plan of the campsites. This study aims for the realization of environmental education through nature friendly recreation. The following points are suggested as needed according to the survey result. 1. damaged facilities should be repaired or replaced. 2. introduction of the facilities for disabled should be prioritized. 3. consistent and active management and publicity work should be operated in the off-peak season. and the seasonal activity programs for the various age groups should be provided. 4. the site should be well connected with other surrounding campsites and tourist sites using the shuttle bus and other transport method.

  • 기존의 배수설비 관리 시스템은 체계적으로 전산화되어 있지 않으며, 각 배수설비의 정보 및 위치 관리가 미흡하여 현장에서의 관리에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 현재 배수설비 관리에서는 수리 기사가 현장에서 QR코드를 인식하여 배수설비의 정보를 파악하고 있다. 이러한 방법은 현장에서 QR코드의 위치를 찾는데 어려움이 있고, QR코드 부착물의 분실 및 파손으로 인해 추가적인 유지보수비용이 든다는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 GPS 기반 배수설비 관리 시스템은 각 배수설비를 GPS 정보를 포함하여 저장, 관리하므로 현장에서 어플리케이션을 통해 사용자의 위치 데이터를 기반으로 배수설비의 위치 및 정보를 제공하는 방법을 사용할 수 있고, 웹 기반 관리 시스템에서 배수설비 및 하수관거 민원, 시설물의 관리를 함께 하여 배수설비 관리의 효율을 증가시킬 수 있다.

둔부재건을 위한 천공지피판의 다양한 도안 (Various Designs of Gluteal Artery Perforator Flap for Buttock Reconstruction)

  • Purpose: The gluteal artery perforator flaps earned its popularity in buttock reconstruction due to the lower morbidity of the donor site and the flexibility in the design. Speedy and safe reconstruction is important for the success of buttock reconstruction. If a proper design is selected, satisfactory results can be obtained with more simple method of surgery. Methods: Between April 2005 and April 2006, buttock reconstruction by using gluteal artery perforator flaps were performed on sacral sores(6 cases), ischial sores(2 cases) and malignant melanoma on buttock(1 case). Various designs depending on the location and the size of the defect was made. In those designs, perforator was used as an axis for the minimal dissection of the vessel. Donor site from which sufficient amount of soft tissue can be transferred was selected, and also not causing high tension against the recipient site during the donor site closure. In addition, postoperative aesthetics, and the possibility of another design of a second operation which can be necessary in the future, was considered. Results: Patient follow up was for a mean period of 10.8 months. All flaps survived except for one that had undergone partial necrosis. Wound dehiscence was observed in one patient treated by secondary closure. Most patients presented with cosmetically and functionally satisfying results Conclusion: By designing the flap using the perforator as an axis, depending on the defect size and degree, reconstruction can be performed with only a small tension to the donor and the recipient site. And the minimal perforator dissection allowed easier and faster reconstruction. Selection of a proper design is the key procedure which greatly affects operation time and result success.

부지응답해석에 기초한 지하공간 내진설계 개념 (Aseismic design concept for underground space based on site response analysis)

  • 본 논문은 부지응답해석 및 실내시험에 기초한 지하공간 내진설계 개념을 제안하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 설계응답 스펙트럼 및 가속도시간이력과 같은 입력운동의 통제점 위치와 기반암 가정물성이 내진설계에 매우 중요한 역할을 하고 있음을 본 연구결과를 통해 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 통제점 위치에 따른 지표면 자유장운동, 기반암운동 또는 암반노두운동 지반운동 변화를 합리적으로 모델링 할 수 있는 적절한 지반응답 모델을 이용하면 지진하중을 받는 지하공간의 합리적인 경계조건을 모사할 수 있고 현실적인 내진설계가 가능하다.

친환경 건축물 실현을 위한 국내 설계사무소의 현황 (Current Situation of Domestic Architectural Practice in order to construct Sustainable Architecture)

  • This study is to concern about the effort of architectural practice to realize the sustainable architecture. It is necessary to know about the integrated design method which combines the passive design method with the active design method from the initial design phase. One case study is followed to explain the method. Integrated design starts from defining the project and goal setting, site evaluation, design concept, design optimization, documents and specifications, bidding and construction and post occupancy evaluation followed respectively. In order to construct the sustainable design, sophisticated understanding about nature and its' principle is important and adaptable application of nature and climate depending on location is followed. In conclusion, architects and specialists of sustainable design should make an effort more study.

학교 입지 계획요소가 학생수 증감에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of School Site Planning Factors Related to School Location on Increase and Decrease of the Number of Students in Korea)

  • 5개 신도시내 초등학교별 장기(24년간) 학생수 증감추세를 9개 계획요소(개발밀도, 다양한 사설학원의 입지 가능 여부, 학교 위치, 통학구역 형태, 인근 학교와의 거리 공동통학구역 운영 여부, 보행자전용가로 조성, 접도조건, 통학로상 입체보차분리시설 유무 등)별 가설을 설정하고, 이를 바탕으로 장기 학생수 증감추세와의 연관성 판단기준에 따라 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 개발밀도, 학교 위치, 통학구역 형태, 인근 학교 거리, 입체보차분리시설 설치 등의 계획요소는 뚜렷한 연관성이 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 둘째, 사설학원 입지와 인근학교 거리 보행자전용가로 설치의 계획요소는 약간의 연관성을 보였다. 셋째, 접도 차선수와 공동통학구역 계획요소는 연관성이 없었다. 본 연구는 수도권 1기 5개 신도시 89개 초등학교만을 조사 분석한 결과이기 때문에 이를 일반화하는데 한계가 있고, 분석요소 및 평가기준을 더욱 정교화할 필요가 있어 이에 대한 후속연구가 필요하다.
