  • The spatial dose distribution was measured with ionization chamber as preliminary study to evaluate operator dose and to study dose reduction during neuro-interventional procedures. The zone of operators was divided into four area (45, 135, 225, and 315 degree). We supposed that operator exist on the four area and indicated location of critical organs(eyes, breast, gonad). The spatial doses were measured depending on distance( 80, 100, 120, and 140 cm) and location of critical organs. The spatial doses of area of 225 degree were 114.5 mR/h (eyes location), 143.1 mR/h (breast location) and 147 mR/h (gonad location) in 80 cm. When changed location of x-ray generator, spatial dose increased in $18.1{\pm}10.5%$, averagely. We certified spatial dose in the operator locations, Using the results of this study, It is feasible to protect operator from radiation in neuro-interventional procedures.

  • In this paper, we propose the location determination system of an agent mobile device using the information provided by the WLAN(Wireless LAN) infrastructure. This system is configured as a typical ESS(Extended Service Set)-type WLAN structure with real-time location positioning engine and thru AP(Access Point) controller. The positioning engine collects the information of agent devices using SNMP(Small Network Management Protocol) thru AP controller and utilize those information as Cell ID. for LBS(Location Based Service). In the result of a real office environment implementation, the average success rate of inter-AP roaming is measured to 62.5% and the duration time of the device information update within the AP is average of 11 second of time, which means this system is adaptable to the location based service of above average accuracy but somewhat less urgency.

  • As the wireless Internet become more widely accessible, variety of Internet services can be used without limitation of location. However, existing mobility management methods such as MIP and PMIP of IETF requires the load of heavy protocol stack on the mobile nodes or the addition of components such as LMA and MAG. In this paper, we proposed the location management technique in the PMIPv6 and Fast Handover technique. according to the moving pattern of the node, the location management technique proposed in order to adjust the paging area dynamically. The Fast Handover technique applied MIH technology and it reduced the handover signal processing time between heterogeneous network. The location management cost in the environment which the node moves in order to evaluate this and handover delay time was calculate. The proposal technique was efficiently more evaluated than PMIPv6 with the smallest 29% and maximum 83%.

  • In maritime logistics, a large number of containers are transported to the destination through a port in the form of composite transportation such as ships, trucks, and railways. Logistics parties such as shipping companies and consignors prefer having the real-time information on the entry and exit of the logistics hubs of the freight. Particularly, a port is an important space that connects the maritime and inland areas. Hence, the interest about freight of the logistics party in port is high. This study describes tracking the location of freight by using GPS dynamically based on area type rather than point type. This presents dynamic information of location tracking when the freight enters, exits from, and passes through a certain port area. I suggest a real-time location of the container cargos tracking algorithm in port-entry, port-exit, and port inside using Active IP-RFID technology based on the location tracking algorithm of previous research.

  • In this study, the correlation between microstructure and Charpy impact properties of FCAW(Flux cored arc welding) HAZ(Heat affected zone) of thick steel plates for offshore platforms was investigated. The 1/4 thickness(1/4t) location HAZ specimen had a higher volume fraction of bainite and finer grain size of acicular ferrite than those of the 1/2 thickness (1/2t) location HAZ specimen because of the post heat effect during the continuous FCAW process. The Charpy impact energy at $-20^{\circ}C$ of the 1/4t location HAZ specimen was lower than that of the 1/2t location HAZ specimen because of the high volume fraction of coarse bainite. The Charpy impact energy at -40 and $-60^{\circ}C$ of the 1/2t location HAZ specimen were higher than those of the 1/2t location HAZ specimen because the ductile fracture occurred in the fine acicular ferrite and martensite regions. In the ductile fracture mode, the deformed regions were observed in fine acicular ferrite and martensite regions. In the brittle fracture mode, long crack propagation path was observed in bainite regions.

  • In ad hoc networks, position-based routing schemes, that use geographical positions of nodes, have been proposed to efficiently route messages. In these routing schemes, the location service is one of the key elements that determines and effects security and efficiency of the protocol. In this paper, we define security threats of location service and propose a new quorum based location service protocol. In our proposed protocol, nodes register their public keys in other nodes during the initialization phase and these registered keys are used to verify locations of other nodes and the messages exchanged. In this paper, we prove that our protocol is robust against traditional attacks and new attacks that may occur due to the use of position-based routing. We also analyze the efficiency of our protocol using various simulations.

  • In order to provide a location-based services regardless of indoor or outdoor space, it is important to provide position information of the terminal regardless of location. Among the wireless/mobile communication resources used for this purpose, Long Term Evolution (LTE) signal is a representative infrastructure that can overcome spatial limitations, but the positioning method based on the location of the base station has a disadvantage in that the accuracy is low. Therefore, a fingerprinting technique, which is a pattern recognition technology, has been widely used. The simplest yet widely applied algorithm among Fingerprint positioning technologies is k-Nearest Neighbors (kNN). However, in the kNN algorithm, it is difficult to find the optimal K value with the lowest positioning error for each location to be estimated, so it is generally fixed to an appropriate K value and used. Since the optimal K value cannot be applied to each estimated location, therefore, there is a problem in that the accuracy of the overall estimated location information is lowered. Considering this problem, this paper proposes a technique for adaptively varying the K value by using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model among Artificial Neural Network (ANN) techniques. First, by using the signal information of the measured values obtained in the service area, an image is created according to the Physical Cell Identity (PCI) and Band combination, and an answer label for supervised learning is created. Then, the structure of the CNN is modeled to classify K values through the image information of the measurements. The performance of the proposed technique is verified based on actual data measured in the testbed. As a result, it can be seen that the proposed technique improves the positioning performance compared to using a fixed K value.

  • As the ubiquitous environment is created, the latest ports introduce U-Port services in managing ports generally and embody container's location identification system, port terminal management system, and advanced information exchange system etc. In particular, the location identification system for freight cars and containers provide in real time the information on the location and condition for them, and enables them to cope with an efficient vehicle operation management and its related problems immediately. However, such a system is insufficient in effectively handling with the troubles in a large-scale port including freight car's disorderly driving, parking, stop, theft, damage, accident, trespassing and controlling. In order to solve these problems, this study structures the vehicle positioning system and the image verification system unsing high resolution image compression and AVE/H.264 store and transmission technology, able to mark and identify the vehicle location on the digital map while a freight car has stayed in a port since the entry of an automatic gate, or able to identify the place of accident through image remotely.

  • As we become an aging society, the number of dementia patients increases every year (an estimated 10% of the elderly, equating to 1.27 million in 30 years). In addition, 17,000 cases of missing people with disabilities and dementia are reported annually, indicating that more than one person per hour goes missing. More than 50% of those who are lost suffer injuries (some of which are fatal) within 24 hours after going missing. This is why measures are urgently required to ensure safety of the elderly. The core function of the disappearances prevention system proposed by this research group is to identify and respond early to deviations of dementia patients from their homes or facilities by identifying the location of the occurrence of disappearance, so that real-time notifications occur when a they leave the protected area. In addition, multiple receivers and public transportation integrated terminals share information when a patient leaves and uses public transportation to ensure their safe return. Most existing beacon-based positioning service models have fixed signal transmitters and are serviced in the form of transport receivers, but the proposed service model has users wearing the BLE beacon and receivers fixed.

  • This paper reports the characteristics of TFTs, formed inside a location-controlled grain: "single-crystalline" Si TFTs (c-Si TFTs). Position of the grains were controlled with a great precision by "${\mu}-Czochralski$ (grain-filter) process". Effects of process parameters, such as, deposition method of gate $SiO_2$, crystallization energy density and position of the channel with respect to the grain filters on TFT characteristics is investigated. It is concluded that the characteristics of TFTs drastically improved by avoiding the grain filter from the channel region. With TFTs having the current-flow direction parallel to radial direction from the grain-filter, electron mobility and subthreshold swing of 600 $cm^2/Vs$ and 0.21 V/dec. respectively are obtained.
