  • Purpose. This study was to investigate the degree of refractive error that occurs depending on the measurement location of the subject when performing a refraction test using the automatic refractor. Methods. When performing the auto-refraction test, measurements were taken while increasing the distance between the forehead and the forehead rest, and the measurements were made by tilting the head clockwise and counterclockwise. Results. During the auto-refraction test, significant refractive error occurred when the forehead was not attached to the forehead support or the subject's head was turned clockwise or counterclockwise. Conclusions. When performing a refraction test using an automatic refractor, the examiner will have to pay attention to whether the subject's forehead is in close contact with the forehead rest, and whether the head is tilted.

  • The MPEG-2 source coding algorithm is very sensitive to transmission errors due to using of variable-length coding. When the compressed data are transmitted, transmission errors are generated and error correction scheme is not able to be corrected well them. In the decoder error concealment (EC) techniques must be used to conceal errors and it is able to minimize degradation of video quality. The proposed algorithm is method to conceal successive macroblock errors of I-frame and utilize temporal information of B-frame and spatial information of P-frame In the previous GOP which is temporally the nearest location to I-frame. This method can improve motion distortion and blurring by temporal and spatial errors which cause at existing error concealment techniques. In network where the violent transmission errors occur, we can conceal more efficiently severe slice errors. This algorithm is Peformed in MPEG-2 video codec and Prove that we can conceal efficiently slice errors of I-frame compared with other approaches by simulations.

  • A GPS sensor is widely used in many areas such as navigation, or air traffic control. Particularly, the car navigation system is equipped with GPS sensor for locational information. However, when a car goes through a tunnel, forest, or built-up area, GPS receiver cannot get the enough number of satellite signals. In these situations, a GPS receiver does not reliably work. A GPS error can be formulated by sum of bias error and sensor noise. The bias error is generated by the geometric arrangement of satellites and sensor noise error is generated by the corrupted signal noise of receiver. To enhance GPS sensor accuracy, these two kinds of errors have to be removed. In this research, we make the road database which includes Road Database File (RDF). RDF includes road information such as road connection, road condition, coordinates of roads, lanes, and stop lines. Among the information, we use the stop line coordinates as a feature point to correct the GPS bias error. If the relative distance and angle of a stop line from a car are detected and the detected stop line can be associated with one of the stop lines in the database, we can measure the bias error and correct the car's location. To remove the other GPS error, sensor noise, the Kalman filter algorithm is used. Additionally, using the RDF, we can get the information of the road where the car belongs. It can be used to help the GPS correction algorithm or to give useful information to users.

  • This paper addresses the problem of moving object localization using Ultra-Wide-Band(UWB) range measurement and the method of location accuracy improvement of the indoor moving object. Unlike outdoor environment, it is difficult to track moving object position due to various noises in indoor. UWB is a radio technology that has attention for localization applications recently. UWB's ranging technique offer the cm accuracy. Its capabilities for data transmission, range accurate estimation and material penetration are suitable technology for indoor positioning application. This paper propose a positioning algorithm of an moving object using UWB ranging technique and particle filter. Existing positioning algorithms eliminate estimation errors and bias after location estimation of mobile object. But in this paper, the proposed algorithm is that eliminate predictable UWB range distance error first and then estimate the moving object's position. This paper shows that the proposed positioning algorithm is more accurate than existing location algorithms through experiments. In this study, the position of moving object is estimated after the triangulation and eliminating the bias and the ranging error from estimation range between three fixed known anchors and a mobile object using UWB. Finally, a particle filter is used to improve on accuracy of mobile object positioning. The results of experiment show that the proposed localization scheme is more precise under the indoor.

  • This paper proposes a cost-effective system design and user-friendly approach for the key technological elements necessary to configure an autonomous mobile robot. To implement a high-precision positioning system using an autonomous mobile robot, we established a Linux-based VRS (virtual reference station)-RTK (real-time kinematic) GNSS (global navigation satellite system) system with NTRIP (Network Transport of RTCM via Internet Protocol) client functionality. Notably, we reduced the construction cost of the GNSS positioning system by performing dynamic location analysis of the established system, without utilizing an RTK replay system. Dynamic location analysis involves sampling each point during the trajectory following of the autonomous mobile robot and comparing the location precision with ground-truth points. The proposed system ensures high positioning performance with fast sampling times and suggests a GPS waypoint system for user convenience. The centimeter-level precision GNSS information is provided at a 30Hz sampling rate, and the dead reckoning function ensures valid information even when passing through tall buildings and dense forests. The horizontal position error measured through the proposed system is 6.7cm, demonstrating a highly precise dynamic location measurement error within 10cm. The VRS network-RTK Linux system, which provides precise dynamic location information at a high sampling rate, supports a GPS waypoint planner function for user convenience, enabling easy destination setting based on GPS information.

  • In this paper, we studied the location estimation algorithm of a spatial 3 dimension which extend the location estimation algorithm of a plane 2 dimension in 2.45GHz band RTLS(Real time location system). We used TDOA scheme which need not a time of transmission information of the tag and estimated 3 dimension coordinates. Also, estimated intersection of hyperbolic curve to X, Y coordinate of the tag at 2D coordinates searching area, $300m\times300m$ and LOS propagation environments. And, we estimated Z coordinate ultimately using X, Y coordinate. The location estimation algorithm of a spatial 3 dimension satisfies the RTLS specification requirement, 3m radius accuracy. From the result, we confirm that the location of tag which similar to actual coordinate in the case to an ideal received offset. However, we verified that the location of tag which escapes from a radius 3m within error range when received offset increased. Therefore, as the future work we are consider enhanced location accuracy of a spatial 3 dimension in RTLS system which using the decrease scheme of reader offset or the discriminate scheme of the estimation location.

  • Location estimation service can be provided outdoors using various location estimation system based on GPS. However, location estimation system is based on existing indoor resources as GPS cannot be used because of insufficient visible satellites and weak signals. The fingerprinting technique that uses WLAN signal, in particular, is good to use indoors because it uses RSSI provided by AP to estimate location. However, its accuracy may vary depending on how accurate data the offline stage used where the fingerprinting map is built. The study sampled various data at the stage that builds the fingerprinting map and suggested a location estimation system that enhances its precision by saving the data of high frequency among them to improve this problem. The suggested location estimation system based on majority sampling data estimates location by filtering RSSI data of the highest frequency at the client and server to be saved at a map, building the map and measuring a similar distance. As a result of the test, the location estimation precision stood at minimum 87.5 % and maximum 90.4% with the margin of error at minimum 0.25 to 2.72m.

  • This research studies real time interaction and dynamic data shared through 3D scenes in virtual network environments. In a distributed virtual environment of client-server structure, consistency is maintained by the static information exchange; as jerks occur by packet delay when updating messages of dynamic data exchanges are broadcasted disorderly, the network bottleneck is reduced by predicting the movement path by using the Dead-reckoning algorithm. In Dead-reckoning path prediction, the error between the estimated and the actual static values which is over the threshold based on the shared object location requires interpolation and multicasting of the previous location by the ESPDU of DIS. The shared dynamic data of the 3D virtual environment is implementation using the VRML.

  • The weighted K-nearest neighbor (WKNN) algorithm is used to reduce positioning accuracy, as it uses a fixed number of neighbors to estimate the position. In this paper, we propose a dynamic threshold location algorithm (DH-KNN) to improve positioning accuracy. The proposed algorithm is designed based on a dynamic threshold to determine the number of neighbors and filter out singular reference points (RPs). We compare its performance with the WKNN and Enhanced K-Nearest Neighbor (EKNN) algorithms in test spaces of networks with dimensions of $20m{\times}20m$, $30m{\times}30m$, $40m{\times}40m$ and $50m{\times}50m$. Simulation results show that the maximum position accuracy of DH-KNN improves by 31.1%, and its maximum position error decreases by 23.5%. The results demonstrate that our proposed method achieves better performance than other well-known algorithms.
