Most calls of a called user are invoked by the group of calling users. This call pattern is defined as call locality. Similarly Internet sessions including IP telephony calls have this pattern. We define it session locality. In this paper, we propose a caching scheme to support session locality in hierarchical SIP networks. The proposed scheme can be applied easily by adding only one filed to cache to a data structure of the SIP mobility agent. And this scheme can reduce signaling cost, database access cost and session setup delay to locate a called user. Moreover, it distributes the load on the home registrar to the SIP mobility agents. Our performance evaluation shows the proposed caching scheme outperforms the hierarchical SIP scheme when session to mobility ratio is high.
Apache Storm is a representative real-time distributed processing system, which is able to process data streams quickly over distributed servers. Storm currently provides several stream grouping methods to distribute data traffic to multiple servers. Among them, the shuffle grouping may cause a processing delay problem and the local-or-shuffle grouping used to solve the problem may cause the problem of concentrating the traffic on a specific node. In this paper, we propose the locality-aware grouping to solve the problems that may arise in the existing Storm grouping methods. Experimental results show that the proposed locality-aware grouping is considerably superior to the existing shuffle grouping and the local-or-shuffle grouping. These results show that the new grouping is an excellent approach considering both the locality and load balancing which are limitations of the existing Storm.
Fossil photographs in science and earth science textbooks on the 7th curriculum including those of elementary, middle and high school, are analyzed to estimate the adequacy and scientific significance focusing on the locality and scale. The results show that most of the textbooks have included various types of fossil photographs: 32 in elementary textbooks, 50 in middle school and 109 in high school. However, the presentation of scientific information on each photographs is insufficient. Only $68\%$ of the elementary textbooks designates locality and only $6\%$ includes scales. Among middle and high school textbooks, 40 and $16\%$ of photographs describe locality, and 14 and $18\%$ of photographs exhibit scale, respectively. More scientific and appropriate presentation of fossil photographs, such as locality and scale, is needed to enhance educational effect.
이동 지역성을 갖는 이동단말들을 위한 위치갱신은 지역 PVLR(Proxy-Visitor Location Register) 갱신에 의해 위치갱신 비용을 줄일 수 있다. Abstract In this paper, we propose a new location management scheme for cellular communication systems with the goal of reducing both location update and query cost. In order to reduce both location update and query cost, the proposed scheme uses user locality. User locality consists of movement and call locality. For mobile terminals with movement locality, location update cost is reduced by local PVLR(Proxy-Visitor Location Register) update. Location query cost is reduced by local PVLR query for mobile terminals with call locality. Through analytical models, we analyze the performance of the proposed scheme and compare it with that of the IS-41 scheme. The measures of comparison used are the network cost, the database cost, and the call set up delay. For all these measures, the proposed scheme performs better than the location management scheme defined in the IS-41 standard. Result comparison also shows that the our scheme performs better than the IS-41 scheme, regardless of CMR(Call-to-Mobility Ratio).

Locally repairable codes (LRCs) constitute an important class of codes for distributed storage, where repair efficiency is a key metric of system performance. In LRCs, efficient repair is achieved by small locality-number of nodes participating in the repair process. In this paper, we focus on situations where different locality is required for different nodes. We present a non-trivial extension of the recent results on multiple (or unequal) localities to the $r,{\delta}$-locality case. A new Singleton-type minimum distance upper bound is derived and an optimal code construction is provided. While the result is limited to the case of only two different localities, it should be noted that it can be directly applied to the more general case where the localities are specified not exactly but by upper limits.
This paper presents an efficient multicast method based on a locality in mobile IPv6 networks. We exploit the repetitive movement pattern of mobile node to reduce the total number of experience of graft and join procedure. We defined the locality scope by a movement pattern. While the network is included in the locality scope, the network should maintain a multicast tree even when the mobile node moves to the other network. In this way, the mobile host can receive a multicast service without a delay when it moves to the network in the locality scope later. We compare our scheme with existing schemes under the total signaling cost and the service delay time by using a discrete analytical model for cost analysis. Analytical results demonstrated that the total signaling cost and service delay time was significantly reduced through our proposed scheme.
This paper aims to cast light upon the urgent problem philosophically the reason why local or locality can not help being raised as the problem of ontological 'between' in human life, in the post modern discourse trying to surmount the general modern system in modern times and it. Therefore, it is necessary that we should inspect the quality of human life, raising a basic question about the existence of human among many questions raised in the process of the discussion of modern and post modern(2). In addition, in the process, we should look into closely what relations local or locality has with the quality of human life, because only in the local, human can be the subject who is making meaning the time and the places, being tangled with the trace of various texture and wrinkles from life. Also, it is here, in the local that subjects can identify to live together through the intersubjective network(3). When these conditions are met, local or locality will emerge as the possibility of locality humanities, as ontological 'between' in human life, where true humane and social life is possible(4).

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of science classes using the geological materials of a locality on academic achievement and scientific attitude of elementary school students. For this study, the class unit is 'stratum and fossils', 2nd semester of 3rd grade, and the geological materials of a locality is applied for class. The geological materials used in teaching and learning of 'stratum and fossil' unit are photographs & video data relating to geological phenomenon, and rock & fossils samples collected in Jeollanam-do province. This study has been aimed at 2 classes 47 students of 3rd grade in G elementary school of G metropolitan. One class 23 students are the research group to apply science class using the geological materials in a locality, on the order hand another class 24 students are the comparison group to apply general science classes. The results of this study are follows. First, a positive relationship was identified between academic achievement and science class applying the geological materials in a locality in the research group. This shows that academic achievement was improved by science class applying the geological materials in a locality. Second, a positive relationship was identified between scientific attitude and science class applying the geological materials in a locality in the research group. This shows that scientific attitude was improved by science class applying the geological materials in a locality. Third, by the results of interview with students who was participated in science class applying the geological materials in a locality, it shows that they have interest and curiosity about local geology. Above results means that science class applying the geological materials in a locality help elementary schools students improve the educational effect about 'stratum and fossils' unit. Thus, it is needed to use the geological materials of a locality in science class relating to the geology units of elementary school science in order to improve academic achievement and scientific attitude of elementary school students.

NAND flash-based SSDs (Solid State Drive) have advantages of fast input/output performance and low power consumption so that they could be widely used as storages on tablet, desktop PC, smart-phone, and server. But, SSD has the disadvantage of wear-leveling due to increase of the number of writes. In order to improve the lifespan of the SSD, a variety of data deduplication techniques have been introduced. General fixed-size splitting method allocates fixed size of chunk without considering locality of data so that it may execute unnecessary chunking and hash key generation, and variable-size splitting method occurs excessive operation since it compares data byte-by-byte for deduplication. This paper proposes adaptive chunking method based on application locality and file name locality of written data in SSD-based server storage. The proposed method split data into 4KB or 64KB chunks adaptively according to application locality and file name locality of duplicated data so that it can reduce the overhead of chunking and hash key generation and prevent duplicated data writing. The experimental results show that the proposed method can enhance write performance, reduce power consumption and operation time compared to existing variable-size splitting method and fixed size splitting method using 4KB.

To examine the locality of Busan is a precondition of examining documenting localities of Busan. What is the locality of Busan and how can I explore the locality of Busan? These are the research questions of this thesis. Memory is fundamental in making an identity. So local memory is fundamental in making locality. Understanding relations between memory and identity, the author explored the locality of Busan by analyzing memories of Busan. To analyze memories of Busan is to examine historical figures of Busan and Cultural Properties of Busan which are on the website of Busan metropolitan city. The results are as follows : According to the analysis of historical figures of Busan, there are no confucius scholars who came from Busan. However in the age of civilization, Busan has produced some talented people by way of receiving a modern education. According to the analysis of Cultural Properties of Busan, Jung-gu(中區) and Seo-gu(西區) and Yeongdo-gu(影島區) are the spaces of migration. Dongnae-gu(東萊區), Suyeong-gu(水營區) and Saha-gu(沙下區) and Gijang-gun(機張郡) are the spaces of settlement. Dong-gu(東區) has changed from a space of settlement into a space of migration with the opening of the Busan Port as a momentum in 1876.
