The purposes of this study are to develop a Korean image clothing design for cultural products by using the literary artist´s works and to satisfy the demand of the local self-government and of Gwangju ㆍChonnam area´s small and medium-sized companies. The image of traditional Korean clothing can be expressed with adjectives like Pure, plain, rhythmical, neatness, plentiful, and calm etc. These attributes are similar to the characteristics of the literary artist´s style, which is expressed as suggestive, animated, spatial, possibility of stationary, serene and still. The features of the traditional Korean clothing design can be described as ´The Beauty of Elegance´, ´The Beauty of Plainness´, ´The Beauty of Asymmetric Balance´ and ´The Beauty of rhythm´. It can be expressed in the modern fashion design, which is developed through the combination of the most important feature like ´The Beauty of Space´ in the literary artist´s style. At the time of production we tried to express spatial beauty and plentiful taste of the literary artist's style in the clothing design of Korean image for cultural products by considering the balance between them. Six works of the literary artist were selected which satisfied the purpose of the developed clothing design item. The results were nine clothing designs of Korean image, like a skirt suit made up of a blouse and a skirt, a pants suit made up of pants and a jacket, two evening dresses with a shawl, and also T-shirts and one-pieces etc.

비음수 행렬 분해 기법(non-negative matrix factorization)은 대표적인 부분 영역 기반 표현 기법의 하나로 영상의 부분적인 특징을 나타내는 기저 벡터의 선형 조합으로 영상을 표현하는 기법이다. 본 논문에서는 여러 가지 비음수 행렬 분해 기법을 이용하여 얼굴 영상을 표현하고, 추출된 특징을 기반으로 학습 벡터 양자화를 이용하여 얼굴 인식을 수행하였다. 추출된 각 기법의 기저 벡터를 비교하여 각 기법의 특징을 분석하였다. 또한 NMF 기법들의 인식율 검증을 통해 비음수 행렬 기법의 얼굴 인식에 대한 활용 가능성을 확인하였다.

The Gaussian process model (GPM) is a flexible surrogate model that can be used for nonparametric regression for multivariate problems. A unique feature of the GPM is that a prediction variance is automatically provided with the regression function. In this paper, we estimate the safety margin of a nuclear power plant by performing regression on the output of best-estimate simulations of a large-break loss-of-coolant accident with sampling of safety system configuration, sequence timing, technical specifications, and thermal hydraulic parameter uncertainties. The key aspect of our approach is that the GPM regression is only performed on the dominant input variables, the safety injection flow rate and the delay time for AC powered pumps to start representing sequence timing uncertainty, providing a predictive model for the peak clad temperature during a reflood phase. Other uncertainties are interpreted as contributors to the measurement noise of the code output and are implicitly treated in the GPM in the noise variance term, providing local uncertainty bounds for the peak clad temperature. We discuss the applicability of the foregoing method to reduce the use of conservative assumptions in best estimate plus uncertainty (BEPU) and Level 1 probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) success criteria definitions while dealing with a large number of uncertainties.

Quaternions have been commonly employed in color image processing, but when the existing pure quaternion representation for color images is used in perceptual hashing, it would degrade the robustness performance since it is sensitive to image manipulations. To improve the robustness in color image perceptual hashing, in this paper a full quaternion representation for color images is proposed by introducing the local image luminance variances. Based on this new representation, a novel Full Quaternion Discrete Cosine Transform (FQDCT)-based hashing is proposed, in which the Quaternion Discrete Cosine Transform (QDCT) is applied to the pseudo-randomly selected regions of the novel full quaternion image to construct two feature matrices. A new hash value in binary is generated from these two matrices. Our experimental results have validated the robustness improvement brought by the proposed full quaternion representation and demonstrated that better performance can be achieved in the proposed FQDCT-based hashing than that in other notable quaternion-based hashing schemes in terms of robustness and discriminability.

Face recognition (FR) with a single sample per person (SSPP) is common in real-world face recognition applications. In this scenario, it is hard to predict intra-class variations of query samples by gallery samples due to the lack of sufficient training samples. Inspired by the fact that similar faces have similar intra-class variations, we propose a virtual sample generating algorithm called k nearest neighbors based virtual sample generating (kNNVSG) to enrich intra-class variation information for training samples. Furthermore, in order to use the intra-class variation information of the virtual samples generated by kNNVSG algorithm, we propose image set based multimanifold discriminant learning (ISMMDL) algorithm. For ISMMDL algorithm, it learns a projection matrix for each manifold modeled by the local patches of the images of each class, which aims to minimize the margins of intra-manifold and maximize the margins of inter-manifold simultaneously in low-dimensional feature space. Finally, by comprehensively using kNNVSG and ISMMDL algorithms, we propose k nearest neighbor virtual image set based multimanifold discriminant learning (kNNMMDL) approach for single sample face recognition (SSFR) tasks. Experimental results on AR, Multi-PIE and LFW face datasets demonstrate that our approach has promising abilities for SSFR with expression, illumination and disguise variations.

본 논문에서는 비디오에서 입력된 영상으로부터 내용기반 검색을 위해 자동으로 자막을 추출하여 특징 추출을 기반의 단층 연결 신경망 인식기(FE-MCBP)에 의해 자막 문자를 인식하여 영상 자막의 내용을 검출하는 방법을 제시하였다. 비디오에서 자막 추출은 먼저, 비디오에서 일정한 시간 간격으로 획득한 프레임 중에서 히스토그램 분석을 통하여 키 프레임을 찾는 과정을 수행하며, 그 다음에 각각의 키 프레임에 대하여 칼라 세그먼테이션 후 라인 검사 방법 통하여 자막 영역을 추출하도록 하였다. 마지막으로 추출된 자막영역에서 개별문자를 분리하였다. 본 연구에서는 칼라 히스토그램을 분석 후 지역 최대값을 이용하여 세그먼테이션 후 라인 검사를 수행함으로써 처리 속도와 자막영역 검출의 정확도를 개선하였다. 비디오에서 자막 추출은 비디오 정보를 멀티미디어 데이터베이스화하는 초기 단계로 추출된 자막은 바로 문자 인식기의 입력이 된다. 또한 인식된 자막정보는 데이터베이스로 구축되며 내용기반 검색 기법에 의해 검색되도록 하였다.

본 논문에서는 GPS와 통합된 다기능 RFID 리더기를 개발하였다. 일반적인 RFID 리더기는 단순히 태그의 정보만을 읽어서 로컬 서버로 전송하는 기능만을 가지고 있으나, 본 논문에서 개발한 리더기는 GPS 모듈을 장착하여 태그가 부착된 물품의 위치를 파악할 수 있기 때문에 물품의 이동 경로 및 최근의 위치 정보를 효율적으로 관리할 수 있다. 또한 기존의 리더기가 주로 사용하던 시리얼 전송과 더불어 TCP/IP를 지원함으로써 빠른 전송이 가능하게 하였으며, 리더기 내부에 websever의 기능을 내장하여 원격에서 브라우저를 통해 리더기에 저장된 데이터를 파악할 수 있도록 하여 효율적인 물류관리가 가능하도록 하였다.

In this paper, we present an efficient tiled stereo display system for tangible meeting. For tangible meeting, it is important to provide immersive display with high resolution image to cover up the field of view and provide to the local user the same environment as that of remote site. To achieve these, a high resolution image needs to be transmitted for reconstruction of remote world, and it should be displayed using a tiled display. However, it is hard to transmit high resolution image in real time due to the limit of network bandwidth, and so we receive multiple images and reconstruct a remote world with received images in advance. Then, we update only a specific area where remote user exists by receiving low resolution image in realtime. We synthesize the transmitted image to the existing environmental map of remote world and display it as a stereo image. For this, we developed a new system which supports GPU based real time warping and blending, automatic feature extraction using machine vision technique.

Recently a major goal in asthma therapy is to reduce or prevent the inflammatory response of airway. Eosinophilic accumulation in the tissue is a prominent feature of allergic diseases including asthma. Production of chemokines by bronchial epithelial cells may contribute to the allergic inflammation by recruiting eosinophils. In this study we evaluated the inhibitory effect of Gamichungsangbohatang (GMCSBHT), used traditionally in treating asthma, on secretion of chemokines for eosinophils in human A549 epithelial cells. Chemokines such as eotaxin, RANTES, IL-8 were inhibited in a dose-dependent manner, but IL-16 showed no inhibition by GMCSBHT. These findings indicate that GMCSBHT might be a therapeutic value in treating asthma by suppression of chemokines secretion associated with local accumulation of eosinophils.

Purpose - The purpose of the study was to seek to find out what factors having differences between paid membership customers (Costco membership) and general customers in retail industry. Since Costco operates differently from other conventional retailers, which is expected to have a substantial impact on consumers' preference of retail stores. Research design, data, and methodology - The survey conducted covered 1,000 adults in their 30s~50s living in Goyang and Gwangmyeong where Costco runs stores to determine the effects of Costco's local market-entry from consumer perspectives. 500 respondents were surveyed in each region and those working in the retail sector were excluded to ensure the objectivity of the answers. Results - Costco members in Goyang considered the price, bulk purchasing, and membership benefits as important criteria when choosing their retail store. On the other hand, as for Gwangmyeong, the non-member group's prominent characteristic was that they considered accessibility including travel distance and location and in-store amenities including food court services as important criteria for decision-making. Conclusion - Unique business model of Costco shows a statistically significant difference in terms of consumer awareness. the feature of Costco served as an critical criteria for consumers in their purchasing decision. Moreover, Bulk packaging purchases at Costco results in a strong supplementary relationship with neighborhood supermarkets.
