In mobile ad hoc networks the most popular on demand routing protocols are the Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) protocol and the Ad hoc On demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol. These and other representative standard routing protocols are designed to find and maintain only a single path. Whenever there is a link break on the active route, source node has to invoke a route discovery process from the beginning and it causes a lot of overhead. Multipath routing protocols, which can alleviate these problems by establishing multiple alternative paths between a source and a destination, are widely studied. In this paper we propose a node disjoint multipath discovery technique based on AODV local route discovery. This technique can find and build completely separated node disjoint multi paths from a source to a destination as many as possible. It will make routing more robust and stable.

본 논문은 single path로 구성되는 AODV 프로토콜의 route failures시 문제점을 보완한 Associativity Based Redundancy path Routing(ABRR) 및 Alternate Redundancy path Routing(ARR) schemes을 제안한다. 첫째, ABRR은 main path상에 있는 각 노드들은 associativity based stable node 정보를 이용하여 path broken 이전에 local redundancy path을 구성하여 path broken시 local routing없이 route을 복구할 수 있게 하고 둘째, ARR은 sourceinitialed route discovery에 의해 alternate path을 구성하여 ABRR 그리고 local routing에 의해 main route recovery 실패 시 alternate path을 main path로 전환하여 control traffic overhead 및 전송 delay을 줄이게 한다.

Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs) refer to autonomous networks in which wireless data communications are established between multiple nodes in a given coverage area without a base station or centralized administration. Because of node mobility and limited battery life, the network topology may changes frequently. Selecting the most reliable path during route discovery process is important to improve performance in ad hoc networks. In this paper, an enhanced routing protocol based on AODV(Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector routing) by monitoring variation of receiving signal strength is proposed. New metric function that consists of node mobility and hops of path is used for routing decision. For preventing route failure by node movement during data transmission, a new route maintenance named as LRC (Local Route Change) is presented. If the node movement is detected, the routing agent switches path to its neighbor node in LRC. Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed routing scheme is superior to previous AODY protocol.

Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANET) in the large-scale road section usually have typical characteristics of large number of vehicles and unevenly distribution over geographic spaces. These two inherent characteristics lead to the unsatisfactory performance of VANETs. This poor performance is mainly due to fragile communication link and low dissemination efficiency. We propose a novel routing mechanism to address the issue in the paper, which includes a competition-based routing discovery with priority metrics and a local routing repair strategy. In the routing discovery stage, the algorithm uses adaptive scheme to select a stable route by the priorities of routing metrics, which are the length of each hop, as well as the residual lifetime of each link. Comparisons of different ratios over link length and link stability further show outstanding improvements. In the routing repair process, upstream and downstream nodes also compete for the right to establish repair process and to remain as a member of the active route after repair. Our simulation results confirm the improved performance of the proposed algorithm.
A Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes dynamically self-organizing in arbitrary and temporary network topologies without the use of any existing network infrastructure. The AODV (Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector) Protocol is one of the typical reactive routing protocols, in that mobile nodes initiate routing activities only in the presence of data packets in need of a route. In this paper, we focus upon the local repair mechanism of AODV. When a link is broken, the upstream node of the broken link repairs the route to the destination by initiating a local route discovery process. The process involves the flooding of AODV control messages in every node within a radius of the length from the initiating node to the destination. In this paper, we propose an efficient local repair scheme for AODV called AFLRS (AODV-based Fast Local Repair Scheme). AFLRS utilizes the existing routing information in the intermediate nodes which have been on the active route to the destination before a link break occurs. AFLRS can reduce the flooding range of AODV control messages and the route recovery time because it can repair route through the intermediate nodes. For the performance evaluation of the proposed AFLRS, we have simulated the local repair mechanisms by using NS2 and AODV-UU. The performance results show that AFLRS can achieve faster route recovery than the local repair mechanism of AODV.
A MANET is an autonomous, infrastructureless system that consists of mobile nodes. In MANET, on-demand routing protocols are usually used because network topology changes frequently. The current approach in case of broken routes is to flag an error and re-initiate route discovery either at the source or at the intermediate node. Repairing these broken links is a costly affair in terms of routing overhead and delay involved. Therefore, this paper propose a NAODV(Neighbor-aware AODV) protocol that stands on the basis of an AODV. It sets up the route rapidly if it operates for setting the route directly by using sequence number of neighbor nodes without re-search the route when the route to destination node is broken. Also, it reduces loss of packets. We use NS-2 for the computer simulation and validate that the proposed scheme is better than general AODV in terms of packet delivery ratio and average end-to-end delay. Also, when the proposed protocol is applied to the large ad-hoc network with multiple nodes, the performance is more efficient.

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are composed of moving wireless hosts which, within range of each other, form wireless networks. For communication to occur between hosts that are not within each other's range, routes involving intermediate nodes must be established; however, since the hosts may be in motion, a host that was part of a route may move away from its upstream and downstream partners, thus breaking the route. In this paper, we propose anticipated route maintenance (ARM) protocol with two extensions to route discovery based routing scheme: Extend the route when nodes on a link move apart from each other and they have common neighbor that can be 'inserted' in the path, and shrink route when a node discovers that one of its neighbor which is not the next hop is also on the same route several hops later on. By utilizing only local geographic information (now a part of some route finding algorithms), a host can anticipate its neighbor's departure and, if other hosts are available, choose a host to bridge the gap, keeping the path connected. We present a distributed algorithm that anticipates route failure and performs preventative route maintenance using location information to increase a route lifespan. The benefits are that this reduces the need to find new routes (which is very expensive) and prevents interruptions in service. As the density of nodes increases, the chance to successfully utilize our route maintenance approach increases, and so does the savings. We have compared the performance of two protocols, pure dynamic source routing (DSR) protocol and DSR with ARM. The simulation results show how ARM improves the functionality of DSR by preventing the links in the route from breaking. Packets delivery ratio could be increased using ARM and achieved approximately $\100%$ improvement. The simulations clarify also how ARM shows a noticeable improvement in dropped packets and links stability over DSR, even though there is more traffic and channel overhead in ARM.

Mobile-IP has been designed to have mobile computer users move from place to place without changing their IP addresses. Mobile-IP introduces the following entities to support mobility: Home Agent. Foreign Agent, etc., and it uses the techniques such as Agent Discovery, Registration. and Tunnelling. Mobile-IP route optimization provides a mechanism by which correspondent nodes are enable to know the mobile host's care-of address to alleviate the triangle routing problem. As a further performance improvement, to alleviate the overhead resulted from the frequent local mobility within a site hierarchical foreign agents are presented, and as a foreign agent which is willing to participate in communication maintain a buffering mechanism not to loss packets for mobile host, smooth handoffs is presented. In this paper, the problems to be thought to support host's mobility and the existing method to support it is discussed.

In the recently years, there has been a big interest in ad hoc wireless network as they have tremendous military and commercial potential. An Ad hoc wireless network is composed of mobile computing devices that use having no fixed infrastructure of a multi-hop wireless network formed. So, the fact that limited resource could support the network of robust, simple framework and energy conserving etc. In this paper, we propose a new ad hoc multicast routing protocol for based on the ontology scheme called inference network. Ontology knowledge-based is one of the structure of context-aware. And the ontology clustering adopts a tree structure to enhance resilient against mobility and routing complexity. This proposed multicast routing protocol utilizes node locality to be improve the flexible connectivity and stable mobility on local discovery routing and flooding discovery routing. Also attempts to improve route recovery efficiency and reduce data transmissions of context-awareness. We also provide simulation results to validate the model complexity. We have developed that proposed an algorithm have design multi-hierarchy layered networks to simulate a desired system.
