Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of aroma hand massage on anxiety and immune function in patients who had gynecology surgery under local anesthesia. Methods: The research design was a nonequivalent control group with pre-and posttest design. Data were collected from June 5 to October 6, 2010. Participants included 20 patients in the aroma hand massage group, 20 patients in a hand massage group, and 20 in a control group. As an experimental treatment, hand massage was carried out following the hand massage protocol. Measures consisted of the State Trait Anxiety, Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) for anxiety, vital signs (systolic and diastolic blood pressure, pulse rate), and salivary cortisol for anxiety, and immunoglobulin A for immune function. Results: Aroma hand massage and hand massage group showed lower levels in NRS for anxiety, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and pulse rate (p<.001) compared to controls. No group differences were found for state anxiety, salivary cortisol and immunoglobulin A. Conclusion: The results indicate that aroma hand massage and hand massage are effective in reducing anxiety and can be complementary alternative interventions for women having gynecology surgery under local anesthesia.

Purpose: This study was performed to identify the effects of intraoperative music therapy on the anxiety level of adult patients undergoing local anesthesia in the operating room. Method: The research design was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest. Data collection was done with 48 patients undergoing local anesthesia from June 2003 to September 2()03. The 24 patients in the experimental group were given music therapy through headphones from the beginning of the operation to the end of the operation with local anesthesia. The data were analyzed using SPSS/PC 10.0 for Windows. Results: Postoperative state anxiety scores were significantly different between the experimental group and the control group. Intraoperative pulse rates were significantly different between the two groups. But systolic and diastolic blood pressures and respiratory rates were not significantly different between the two groups. Conclusion: Considering these results, music therapy can be regarded as an effective nursing intervention that relieves anxiety for adult patients undergoing local anesthesia. However, to determine the best use of this therapy, further study is required for different types of anesthesia and operations such as ambulatory surgery.
Thirty-one Tobacco Introduction (Nicotiana tabacum L.) lines from Agricultural Research Service, United States Department of Agriculture, were assayed for their resistance to tobacco mosaic virus. The T.1.'s were grouped into two classes according to symptoms - symptomless and local lesion. Tobacco Introductions in the symptomless group yielded better than the local lesion group but the leaf quality was lower. The chemical composition of cured leaves was similar in both groups. Considering various agronomic characters, T.I. 1504 in the local lesion group is recommended as a new source for the breeding of TMV resistance.
Objective : This prospective study evaluated the use of continuous sedation using propofol and remifentanil when carpal tunnel release (CTR) was performed under local anesthesia. Methods : We sedated 60 patients undergoing CTR using local anesthesia with remifentanil at loading and continuous doses of $0.5\;{\mu}g\;kg^{-1}$ and $0.05\;{\mu}g\;kg^{-1}min^{-1}$, respectively, and propofol, using a target controlled infusion (TCI) pump set to a target of $2\;{\mu}g\;mL^{-1}$ (group A), or with the same drug doses except that the continuous remifentanil dose was $0.07\;{\mu}g\;kg^{-1}min^{-1}$ (group B) or $0.1\;{\mu}g\;kg^{-1}min^{-1}$ (group C). Results : In group B, the levels of pain when local anesthetics were administered (p = 0.001), intraoperative pain (p < 0.001) and anxiety (p = 0.001) were significantly lower than those of group A. Furthermore, the incidence of adverse events, including desaturation (p < 0.001) and vomiting (p = 0.043), was significantly lower in group B than in group C. Conclusion : Continuous sedation using an appropriate dose of remifentanil and propofol can be used as safe, efficacious ambulatory anesthesia in cases of CTR under local anesthesia, performed using only 2 mL of local anesthetic, with a high degree of patient satisfaction.

Verifier-local revocation (VLR) seems to be the most flexible revocation approaches for any group signature scheme, because it just only requires the verifiers to possess some up-to-date revocation information, but not the signers. Langlois et al. (PKC 2014) proposed the first VLR group signature based on lattice assumptions in the random oracle model. Their scheme has at least Õ(n2) ⋅ log N bit group public key and Õ(n) ⋅ log N bit signature, respectively. Here, n is the security parameter and N is the maximum number of group members. In this paper, we present a simpler lattice-based VLR group signature, which is more efficient by a O(log N) factor in both the group public key and the signature size. The security of our VLR group signature can be reduced to the hardness of learning with errors (LWE) and small integer solution (SIS) in the random oracle model.
The purpose of this study was to compare the experimental pain threshold when used in luminous lamp radiation and nonluminous lamp radiation with healthy person. Thirty normal subjects were randomly assigned two groups: a luminous lamp radiation group, and a nonluminous lamp radiation group. The infrared lamps were applied on L3 for thirty minutes. Each group was measured for experimental pain threshold and local temperature before, 15 and 30 minute radiation. For statistical differences in change of the experimental pain threshold and local temperature due to differences in lamp ray was compared using the independent t-test. And, General linear model for profile plots test was used. The results were as: 1. Local temperature was significantly increased in the nonluminous lamp group (p<.01). 2. Experimental pain thershold was significantly increased in the luminous lamp group (p<.05),(p<.01). This study indicate that luminous lamp radiation was more effects of increase experimental pain thershold than nonluminous lamp radiation. Further study is needed to compare the effects of after period radiation.

Purpose : To investigate the effectiveness of local vibration and interferential therapy for patient with acute low back pain. Methods : A randomized trial designed to compare interferential therapy and local vibration therapy for acute low back pain in primary care setting Results : A total of 60 patients were recruited. The two treatment groups had similar demographic and clinical baseline characteristics. The mean VAS scores before treatment was 8.290 for interferental therapy group and 8.572 for local vibration therapy groups. After treatment, this VAS score had dropped to 4.812(interferental therapy group, at 7 days), and 4.945(local vibration group, at 7 days). Conclusion : This study shows a progressive fall in visual analog scale scores in patients with acute low back pain treated with either interferential therapy and local vibration therapy. There was some difference in the improvement between the two groups at 1 to 4 days, VAS score of vibration therapy groups was low better than interferential therapy groups.
Apart from thinning of cortical layers, the local bone curvature, varying along bone periphery, modulates ultrasound waves as well, which is however often underestimated or overlooked in clinical quantitative ultrasound (QUS). A dedicated three-dimensional finite element modelling technique for cortical bones was established, for quantitatively exploring and calibrating the effect of local curvature of cortical bone on ultrasound. Using a correlation-based mode extraction technique, high-velocity group (HVG) and low-velocity group (LVG) wave modes in a human radius were examined. Experimental verification using acrylic cylinders and in vitro testing using a porcine femur were accomplished. Results coherently unravelled the cortical curvature exerts evident influence on bone-guided ultrasound when RoC/${\lambda}$ <1 for HVG mode and RoC/${\lambda}$ <2 for LVG mode (RoC/${\lambda}$: the ratio of local bone curvature radius to wavelength); the sensitivity of LVG mode to bone curvature is higher than HVG mode. It has also been demonstrated the local group velocity of an HVG or LVG mode at a particular skeletal site is equivalent to the velocity when propagating in a uniform cylinder having an outer radius identical to the radius of curvature at that site. This study provides a rule of thumb to compensate for the effect of bone curvature in QUS.

Purpose: To evaluate the benefit of adjuvant radiation therapy (RT) for retroperitoneal liposarcoma (RPLS) following gross tumor removal. Materials and Methods: We reviewed 77 patients with primary RPLS surgically treated between January 2000 and December 2013. Cases with gross residual disease were excluded. Tumor grade was evaluated according to the French Federation of Cancer Centers Sarcoma Group (FNCLCC) system. Adjuvant RT was delivered to 32 patients (42%) using external beam RT alone. Median follow-up time was 36 months (range, 5 to 169). Results: Among 77 patients, 33 (43%) presented with well-differentiated, 31 (40%) with de-differentiated, 8 (10%) with myxoid/round and 4 (5%) with pleomorphic morphology. The RT group included less well-differentiated subtype than surgery group (28% vs. 53%). During follow up, 34 patients (44%) showed local recurrence. Local recurrence rate was lower in the RT group (38%) compared to the surgery group (49%). The 3-year local control rate (LC) was 55.6%, and the 3-year overall survival (OS) was 82.1%. Tumor histology and FNCLCC grade were significantly associated with local recurrence. There was no statistical significance of adding adjuvant RT in LC (p = 0.312). However, patients with tumor histology other than well-differentiated subtype showed marginally decreased local recurrence rate after adjuvant RT (3-year LC, RT 43.9% vs. no RT 35.3%; p = 0.087). Conclusion: RPLS patients receiving RT experienced less local recurrence. We suggest that the addition of adjuvant RT may be related to improvement of LCs, especially in patients with non-favorable histologic subtypes.
In this research the levels of information infrastructure of selected forwarders were measured and analyzed a relationship with business performance. The selected forwarder was consisted of local forwarder group and foreign invested forwarder group. In this analysis the level of information infrastructure of foreign invested forwarder group was higher than local forwarder group, and accordingly their performance was found a difference. i. e. A positive significant relationship was found between the level of information infrastructure and forwarders' business performance by means of correlation analysis.
