  • In microfactory, loading/unloading mechanism supply the row material to processing machines for manufacturing process such as pressing, cutting, plastic deformation. This mechanism for rnicrofactory is designed as modularity robot. Microfactory system have to be flexible structure for variety product item. For system flexibility, applied mechanisms are developed as moduality. Robot moduality needs the specific characteristics which are different from one of macro, typical robot system. In this paper, we discussed about the modularity robot. and proposed the loading/unloading mechanism for working in microfactory system.

  • For micro-weighing, null balance method is widely used in the precision industrial fields, such as biomedicine, semiconductor, chemistry and so on. In order to obtain high resolution and large measurement range simultaneously, the mechanism should be analyzed and optimized. However, large measurement error can be generated according to the mass loading position and this error is called as a corner loading error. The corner loading error is caused by the parallelism error of a Roberval mechanism used to minimize it. The corner loading error is one of the most dominant error sources that should be removed. It is possible to design that the mechanism has no corner loading error theoretically, but the mechanism of the micro weighing device is very difficult to be realized as original design due to assembling and manufacturing error. For the required specification of the device, the precise manufacturing technique under a few $\mu\textrm{m}$ is required for the realization of the design. In this paper, the effects of the parallelism error are analyzed by using Lagrange method and verified by experiment. Also, the compensation mechanism is proposed and the corner loading error is reduced by restoring tile parallelism.

  • A novel loading mechanism of wedge roller type has been developed. This type traction drive has long system life and high efficiency by changing the pre-load on a contact point. And this loading mechanism does not need precision machining. So it has, as opposed to the conventional loading mechanism, an advantage in saving manufacturing cost. In this paper, by analyzing pre-load generating mechanism, spring pre-load and the roller size are defined and the stress on the contact point by pre-load is calculated. On the basis of this analysis, the model of wedge roller type traction drive for the test is made and was carried out its performance test. It can transmit input torque up to 1.5 N m, with high efficiency over 91% up to 98%, with slip rate under 2.5%.

  • A video deck mechanism is composed of various cams, links, and gears, and it requires precise movement. So kinematic motion between parts should be considered to get desired movement depending on the timing chart which defines movement of each part to get desired mode. Also dynamic effects should be considered to get right tape tension and to estimate motor force required to obtain accurate motion. The design process of the deck mechanism of VCR is explained briefly. The loading block of the deck mechanism is divided into a tape translational group and a brake control group. Each group is modeled for kinematic and dynamic analysis. Finally, two groups are combined together to analyze the loading block of the deck mechanism. Results are used to understand and modify an existing design.

  • Accounting for the additional damages come out from non-proportional loading path effect, material damage according to crystal structure dependence was studied. Microscopic observations of damaged material by SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) showed crystal structure dependence. Biaxial in-phase loaded specimens showed the slips of same direction, which pararell each other, but biaxial 90.deg. out-of-phase loaded specimens showed multiply crossed slips. S. H. Doong and D. F. Socie reported that wavy/planar or planar slip material showed the increase in the cyclic hardening level during non-proportional cycling. From these results, the additional hardening and non-proportional loading effects were related with slip mechanism, and the slip mechanism was related with crystal structure. In the present study, a damage mechanism which accounts for the non-proportional loading effect from crystal structure dependence was considered and applied to A17075-T651.

Modelling of recycled aggregate concrete-filled steel tube (RACFST) beam-columns subjected to cyclic loading

  • A nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA) model is presented for simulating the behaviour of recycled aggregate concrete-filled steel tube (RACFST) beam-columns subjected to constant axial compressive load and cyclically increasing flexural loading. The FEA model was developed based on ABAQUS software package and a displacement-based approach was used. The proposed engineering stress versus engineering strain relationship of core concrete with the effect of recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) replacement ratio was adopted in the FEA model. The predicted results of the FEA model were compared with the experimental results of several RACFST as well as the corresponding concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) beam-columns under cyclic loading reported in the literature. The comparison results indicated that the proposed FEA model was capable of predicting the load versus deformation relationship, lateral bearing capacity and failure pattern of RACFST beam-columns with an acceptable accuracy. A parametric study was further carried out to investigate the effect of typical parameters on the mechanism of RACFST beam-columns subjected to cyclic loading.

  • Loading/Unloading(L/UL) mechanism has been considered to be an alternative to contact start-stop(CSS) mechanism which eliminates stiction and wear associated with frequent start and stop process. It has other advantages including increased areal density due to lower flying height, reduced power consumption, and improved shock resistance.   • Dynamic dan loading and class linking of Java is a poweful mechanism. Many other system also support some form of dynamic loading and linking, but lazy loading, type-safe linkage, user-definable class loading policy, and multiple namespaces are important features of Java The ue U dan loading is assured of type safety. The security of Java greatly depends on type safety. In JVM, type safety mechanism is very difficult and access of accuracy is not dear, so type safety problems were raised. In paper, n analysis simple Java code and present a diagram graph and an operational semantics for dynamic class loading and type safety.

Dynamic equivalent model of a SMART control rod drive mechanism for a seismic analysis

  • The SMART (System-integrated Modular Advanced ReacTor) is an integral-type small modular reactor developed by KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute). This paper discusses the development of a dynamic equivalent model of the SMART control rod drive mechanism that can be efficiently utilized for complicated analysis during the design of the SMART. A semi-empirical approach is used to develop the equivalent model; that is, the equivalent model is defined analytically and verified empirically. Two types of tests, dynamic characteristics tests and seismic loading tests, are conducted for the development and verification of the dynamic equivalent model, respectively. Acceleration response spectra from the seismic analysis based on the developed equivalent model show good agreement with those from the seismic loading tests.

A Pipelined Loading Mechanism for a Hierarchical VOD Server Based on DVD Jukebox (DVD 쥬크박스 기반의 계층적 VOD 서버 구성을 위한 파이프라인 로딩 기법)

  • In order to realize a practical VOD system, it is necessary for a high-capacity and cost-effective hierarchical VOD server based on tertiary storages such as DVD jukebox. In such a system, it is possible to transfer multiple streams to users by alternatively swapping DVDs using the fixed number of drives. But it takes a long time for loading DVD to a drive. In this paper, we propose a primitive pipelined loading mechanism for hiding the loading time to swap DVDs in a hierarchical VOD server based on DVD jukebox. We also propose a enhanced pipelined loading mechanism for increasing the maximum admittable streams with the fixed number of drives. The enhanced mechanism caches the initial segment of each stream on a disk storage allowing faster data transfer. The performance analysis shows that the proposed mechanisms can admit the maximum allowed stream capacity under the fixed number of disk drives.
