  • This paper deals with the issue of robust position tracking control and energy-saving control for a valve-controlled cylinder system using speed-controlled fixed displacement pump. The whole feedback control system is composed of a pair of interconnected subsystems, that is, valve-controlled cylinder system and load-sensing control system. From experiments it is shown that position tracking control in the load sensing control system can accomplish significant reduction in input energy to pump comparing to a conventional valve-controlled cylinder system, while exhibiting the same position tracking control accuracy.

  • The following will describe a method of evaluating the SLAP lesion in the recurrent anterior dislocation of the shoulder. We have named it the biceps load test. The biceps load test is performed with the patient in the supine position and the arm to be examined is abducted 90/sup°/, and the forearm is in the supinated position. First, the anterior apprehension test is performed. When the patient become apprehensive, the patient is allowed active flexion of the elbow, while the examiner resists elbow flexion. If the apprehension is relieved or diminished, the test is negative. If aggravated or unchanged, the test is positive. A prospective study was performed, in which 75 patients who were diagnosed as having recurrent unilateral anterior instability of the shoulder underwent the biceps load test and arthroscopic examination. The biceps load test showed negative results in 64 of these patients, of which the superior labral-biceps complex was intact'in 63 cases and only I shoulder revealed a type n SLAP lesion. E]even patients with a positive test were confirmed to have type n SLAP lesions. A positive biceps load test represents an unstable SLAP lesion in a patient with recurrent anterior dislocation of the shoulder. The biceps load test is a reliable test for evaluating the SLAP lesion in the recurrent anterior dislocation of the shoulder(sensitivity: ,9] .7%, specificity: 100%, positive predictive value: 1.00 and negative predictive value: 0.98). Biceps contraction increases the torsional rigidity ?of the glenohumeral joint and long head of biceps tendan act as internal rotator of the shoulder in the abducted and externally rotated position. These stabilize the shoulder in abduction and external rotation position in the biceps load test.

  • This paper proposes a sensorless speed control algorithm for parallel-connected dual Surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors fed by a single inverter. For stable parallel operation of synchronous motors with a single inverter, each motor has to be constantly kept in the synchronization state regardless of load torque. If the master motor with the larger load is controlled, the synchronous state will be maintained. Therefore, detection of the master motor is essential. Conventionally, the master motor is determined by comparing the rotor position error from the relation between the back-EMF for torque angle and the flux position. consequently, the position sensor is deemed essential for finding the rotor position. In this paper, we proposed a method that decides the magnitude of the load from the power angle of two motors due to the load variation and selects the motor to control through the sign function for the sensorless speed control without the position sensor. The results of simulation and experiment conducted verify the efficacy of the proposed method.

  • A new control method for the precision robust position control of a brushless DC(BLDC) motor for direct drive m motor(BLDDM) system using the asymptotically stable adaptive load torque observer is presented. A precision position c control is obtained for the BLDD motor system appro성mately linearized using the fieldlongrightarroworientation method. Many of t these motor systems have BLDD motor to obtain no backlashes. On the other hand, it has disadvantages such as the h high cost and more complex controller caused by the nonlinear characteristics. And the load torque disturbance is d directly affected to a motor shaft. To r밍ect this problem, stability analysis is calTied out using Lyapunov stability t theorem. Using this results, the stability is proved and load disturbance detected by the asymptotically stable adaptive observer is compensated by feedforwarding the equivalent CUlTent having the fast response.

  • Position of a circular or elliptical cutout within an orthotropic plate has great influence on its buckling behavior. This paper aims at finding the optimal position (both location and orientation) of a single circular/elliptical cutout, within an orthotropic rectangular plate, that maximizes the critical buckling load. We consider linear buckling of simply supported orthotropic plates under uniaxial edge loads. To obtain the optimal positions of the cutouts, we have employed a MATLAB optimization routine coupled with buckling computation in ANSYS. Our results show that the position of the cutout that maximizes the buckling load has great dependence on the material properties, laminate configurations, and the geometrical parameters of the plate. These optimal results, for a number of plate geometries and cutout sizes, are reported in this paper. These results will be useful in the design of perforated orthotropic plates against buckling failure.

  • A snap ring is a kind of metal spring with open ends which can be installed into a groove to prevent lateral movement. In this study a nonlinear finite element analysis model is developed to simulate the fastening process of a snap ring connecting the constant velocity joint and the transmission. Insert load, disengage load and breakage are three important issues. They are analyzed using the developed model. The load histories of simulations are similar to those of tests and the differences of maximum load are around 10%. Bending of the entire ring and unfolding of the end section are major contributors of the fastening load. The load variations caused by the angular position of spline tooth are about 50%. Breakage is highly sensitive to the position of a snap ring.

  • Samsung Electronics has developed high performance velocity and position controller for induction motors, and succeeded in mass production for the first time in Korea. Dynamic performance and final control accuracy of the controller are equivalent to those of AC servo motor controller. At present, we adopted the controller as spindle motor drive for Samsung CNC systems, and expect its wide use in industry as general purpose velocity and position controller for induction motor.

  • Comparison 3-port servo system with 4-port is made to obtain optimal design for heavy and unidirectional hydraulic system, It is concluded that 3-port servo system it more adequate than 4-port for the heavy load system which is usually operated at lower frequencies. High performance electro-hydraulic position controller is designed using 3-port servo valve. It includes dynamic pressure feedback as a inner loop and position feedback as a outer loop.

  • This study analyses the load imbalance of the tower crane used in telescoping work for structural safety, owing to the difference in wind speed and balance weight position. This is because wind speed and position of the balance weight have a significant impact on the structural stresses of a tower crane during telescoping work. Therefore, structural analysis was performed on the 290HC model, which is often used at construction sites and has only one cylinder installed. Moreover, two models were classified to determine the load acting on the connecting part of the telescopic cage to slewing platform and the cylinder. Five types of balance weight positions were applied at regular intervals from jibs; moreover, four types of wind load criteria were differently applied. Hence, the telescopic cage columns were destroyed at all balance weight positions at a wind speed of 30 m/s and only at certain locations at a wind speed of 20 m/s. Furthermore, failures occurred for cylinders, torsional, and bending at wind speeds of 30 m/s and 20 m/s, load imbalances above the allowable thresholds considering the safety factor. In addition, the load imbalance in the telescoping work also varied depending on the position of the balance weights. The results of these studies have validated that the current standards of adjusting the appropriate position of the balance weights on the jib are completely valid, with the telescoping work to be executed only at wind speeds of less than equal to 10 m/s.
