  • Capacitive current switching test for circuit breaker and load breaker switch requires special attention because, after current interruption, the capacitive load contains an electrical charge and can cause dielectric restrike and re-ignition of the switching devices. therefore dielectric strength of capacitor load bank shall be able to withstand 4Vt (Vt : test voltage) and charging voltage discharged within 1 min. In this paper presents both characteristic of capacitive current switching tests and design of capacitor load bank.

상정사고를 고려한 배전용 변전소 신,증설 계획 수립 (Planning for Construction and Expanding of Distribution Substation Considering Contingency)

  • This paper presents algorithm to plan construction and expanding of substation considering contingency accidents by proposing utilization factor according to configuration of substation bank system. In this paper, firstly, proper sphere of supply area by each district which could be standardized with respect to its supply capacity is established under assumption of long term load forecasting. Secondly, goal of utilization ratio based on configuration of substation bank was set to keep reliability by remaining sound bank when it happen to one bank accidents. Finally, it is set up for optimal construction and expanding of substation considering economy and reliability simultaneously about substation to exceed these ratio. To verify proposed algorithm, at first, after adopting a part of Kangnam area in Seoul as area for testing, it is divided into several regions for this area according to power branches of power utility. Secondly, by deriving correlation factor between load demand and economic indicators in these region respectively, the regional load forecasting was performed with economic growth and city plan scenario. Finally, based on the predicted load demand by region and land use data which is identified from air-photographic, the load demand by district was predicted. Also, planning for substation considering contingency is formulated to expand taking into account computing utilization factor which is based on configuration of substation bank respectively.

하이브리드 방식에 의한 미시적 부하모델링 (Component-Based Load Modeling Updated by Hybrid Technique)

  • Component-based method for load model not only should include the performances of the load components, but also should take into consideration the core losses of transformers, the line losses and the capacitor banks. Especially, capacitor bank affects the accuracy of reactive load model in load modeling. But it is difficult to identify actual reactive powers of capacitor banks in power system for load modeling. This research improves the component-based modeling method including uncertain capacitor bank. The proposed method is hybrid technique, which adds the measurement-based method to the existing component-based method for reliable information of capacitor band. The results of case studies were presented to verify the validity of the proposed method.

  • 소방용 비상발전기는 화재와 같은 비상상황에서 인명과 재산을 보호하는 소방시설에 비상전원을 공급하는 중요한 시설이다. 이러한 중요성에 따라 비상발전기는 주기적인 부하시험으로 성능과 상태를 확인하여야 한다. 비상발전기의 일반적인 부하시험 방법은 R, L, C 부하로 구성된 Load Bank를 이용하여 시험하고 있다. 최근, 비상발전기의 효율적인 부하시험을 위하여, 시험 중에 발생한 전력을 저장하였다가 전기사업자에게 판매하는 ESS 부하시험장치의 도입이 검토되고 있다. 그러나 리튬이온배터리의 높은 가격으로 인하여, ESS 부하시험장치는 기존의 Load Bank 방식보다 초기투자비가 많이 소요될 수 있어, 상용화가 어려운 실정이다. 하지만, 비상발전기의 부하시험 동안 발전된 전력의 판매를 고려하면, ESS 부하시험장치는 경제적인 사업모델이 될 가능성이 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 ESS 부하시험장치의 정확한 경제성을 평가하기 위하여, ESS 부하시험장치에 충전된 전력의 판매를 고려한 비용요소와 편익요소로 구성된 경제성평가 모델링을 제시한다. 또한, 제시한 모델링을 바탕으로 ESS 부하시험장치와 Load Bank에 대한 투자회수율과 회수년도를 비교 및 분석한 결과, 전력판매를 고려할 경우 ESS 부하시험장치의 상용화가 가능함을 확인하였다.

진공 스위치를 이용한 Crowbar 시스템의 개발 (Development of the Crowbar System Using a Vacuum Switch)

  • Crowbar system is usually applied to a pulsed power system in which a capacitor bank is discharged into a load. This provides a free wheeling path for the load current and prevents the capacitor from recharging due to a reverse voltage. Usually diodes have been used as a crowbar switch, but it is not a practical system because the cost of the diodes goes up enormously with increasing the system voltage and current. This paper presents a novel protection scheme of a charging and discharging system of a 300 kJ capacitor bank using a low-cost crowbar system which consists of a crowbar switch and resistors. Triggered vacuum switch(TVS) was used for a crowbar switch, and Rogowski coil was used to determine a trigger time of TVS. When this crowbar system is applied to our pulsed power system which consists of capacitor bank($123muF$), inductor() for forming a pulse, load resistor$(100 m\Omega)$, and a closing switch, instantaneous reversal voltage of capacitor bank could be limited less than 1.8 ㎸ until capacitor bank was charred to 17 ㎸.

  • 한국 표준 원전의 부하추종운전 능력 향상을 위하여 노심 축 방향 출력분포 제어에 기존의 regulating bank와는 별개의 heavy bank를 사용하는 노심 제어 기법인 Mode K를 제시하였다 이 경우 heavy bank는 제어할 수 있는 축방향 출력 변화의 범위가 크며, 또한 bank의 움직임과 축 방향 출력 변화가 단조적 관계를 항상 유지할 수 있으므로 운전을 용이하게 할 뿐 아니라 자동제어가 가능하도록 한다. Mode K기법을 이용한 노심 제어 자동화는 부하추종운전에 대한 운전원의 부담을 경감시킬 수 있으며, 특히 주파수 제어 운전등 미리 예측되지 않은 부하변동에 응동할 수 있는 능력을 갖게 한다. 표준 원전의 참조 발전소인 영광 3,4호기의 운전을 모의 계산함으로써 Mode K 의 설계 개념을 평가하였는데 그 결과를 통하여 한국 표준 원전의 실제적 부하추종운전을 위하여 Mode K 기법을 적절하게 사용할 수 있음을 입증하였다.

  • The Load Tap Changing (LTC) transformer and Shunt Capacitor (SC) bank are major devices for voltage and reactive power control in a distribution substation. Thus, the coordination operation of a LTC transformer and a SC bank is required to achieve better voltage and reactive power compensation at a distribution substation in the same time. This paper proposes coordinate control method of LTC transformer and SC bank to achieve better voltage and reactive power compensation and operation times of these two devices in the same time. The mathematical formulations of the proposed coordinate control method are introduced. Sample case studies are shown to verify the effectiveness of the proposed coordinate control method.

  • 조선소에서 건조하고 있는 선박, 해양플랜트에 설치된 발전기의 부하 성능 시험 시 생산되는 막대한 양의 전력은 컨테이너 형태로 제작된 로드뱅크를 통해 전량 열로 낭비된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 선박 건조 시 발전기 부하시험으로 낭비되는 전력량을 대형 조선소를 대상으로 정량적으로 조사하였으며, 소형발전기에서 생산된 전력을 한전계통에 연계하여 회수하는 실험실의 실험결과를 바탕으로 조선소에서 발전기 부하시험 시 생산되는 전력을 한전계통에 연결할 경우 회수 가능한 전력량을 연구 분석하였다.

  • A new low cost hybrid active filter for thyristor-controlled rectifier load is presented to overcome the high cost problem of the active or the other hybrid active filters. The proposed hybrid active filter which consists of tuned (5th and 7th harmonics) LC passive filters, power factor improvement(PFI) capacitor bank, and active filter compensates power factor as well as harmonic currents. Since most of harmonic currents are filtered by the passive filter and most of reactive power is compensated by the PFI capacitor bank, the power rating of active filter can be minimized, resulting in cost minimization of the proposed hybrid active filter. A 300kVA hybrid active filter system is implemented and tested using 1MVA thyristor rectifier load to verify the operation and performance.
