Liquified hydrogen peroxide as a monopropellant is drawing an attention as a power generating energy source for a machine requiring simple and light weight structure. The liquified hydrogen peroxide is attracted due to its outstanding applicability because it doesn't require an oxidizer and discharge a hazardous product. For the further industrial applications, however, a feasibility study should be carried out carefully in the aspect of the specific power density. In this study, a prototype of vane motor driven by the liquified hydrogen peroxide with high density of upper 95% was developed and its performance characteristic such as a specific power density was estimated via measuring pressure and rotation speed of the vane motor. The specific power density obtained by numerical simulation using FSI analysis supported by experimental results was up to $0.02kW/kg_{f}$, which reaches at the level of the latest developed fuel cell.
Cubic and non-cubic equations of state are used to calculate the vapor-liquid equilibrium(VLE) compositions for liquified natural gas(LNG) containing hydrogen sulfide. Modified Benedict-Web-Robin EOS is chosen as a non-cubic equation of state while Peng-Robinson, Soave-Redlich-Kwong EOS are used for a cubic EOS. Modified Benedict-Web-Robin EOS. showed better predictability than the cubic EOS used for the systems $H_2S/CH_4,\;H_2S/iC_4H_{10},\;H_2S/N_2$. specially for liquid composition.

A gun-type burne. fur a LPG(Liquified Petroleum Gas) boiler was utilized for hydrogen combustion. The study was performed to obtain fundamental data prior to the design of a very low NO$\_$x/, hydrogen-fueled burner. First, numerical simulations were performed to predict mixing characteristics between air and fuel flows, and temperature distributions, etc. Experimental study was then performed to find out flame lengths, temperature distributions, and NO$\_$x/ concentrations. The results showed that a gun-type burner for a LPG boiler can be successfully used for hydrogen combustion without any major retrofitting. The hydrogen flame was very stable and 75 ppm of NO$\_$x/ in average was observed for the conditions considered in this study. Hydrogen combustion could be therefore a solution to avoid the problem of green-house gas(CO$_2$) if hydrogen becomes cost-effective.

Hydrogen embrittlement in metals has been a serious issue with regard to structural safety. In this study, molecular dynamics simulations revealed that the aggregation of hydrogen atoms at the crack tips suppresses the dislocation emission and thus results in cleavage fracture. A series of molecular dynamics simulations were performed considering factors such as the concentration of hydrogen atoms, loading rate, and diffusion coefficient. We investigated the conditions that minimize hydrogen embrittlement. The simulation results were consistent with the experimental results and used to quantify hydrogen embrittlement.
As the demand for hydrogen increases, the facilities for storing hydrogen has been important, and a few laws for hydrogen facilities should be complied. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Act in Korea, in case liquid hydrogen with a storage capacity of 5 tons or more is handled, a Process Safety Management (PSM) system should be complied. However, there are some standards which are not proper for flammable low-temperature liquefied substances on the current Occupational Safety and Health Act. In this study, 7 key points in process safey information and safety operation procedures among PSM components are suggested and how these key points should be improved is derived based on scientific analysis.
This paper is an attempt to give a concise overview of the state-of-the-art in the recent liquid hydrogen safety researches with unwanted event progress. The vessel of liquified hydrogen may fail and liquid hydrogen spilled. The hydrogen will immediately start to evaporate above a pool and make a hydrogen cloud. The cloud will disperse and can produce a vapor cloud explosion. The vessel containing the liquid hydrogen may not be able to cope with the boil-off due to heat influx, especially in case of a fire, and a BLEVE may occur. In equipment where it exists as compressed gas, a leak generates a jet of gas that can self-ignite immediately or after a short delay and produce a jet flame, or in case it ignites at a source a certain distance from the leak (delayed ignition), a flash fire occurs in the open and with confinement a deflagration or even detonation may develop. The up-to-date knowledge in these events, recent progress and future research are discussed in brief.

This study quantitatively assessed the environmental impacts of fuel cell (FC) systems by performing life cycle assessment (LCA) and analyzed their energy efficiencies based on energy return on investment (EROI) and electrical energy stored on investment (ESOI). Molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) system and polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) system were selected as the fuel cell systems. Five different paths to produce hydrogen ($H_2$) as fuel such as natural gas steam reforming (NGSR), centralized naptha SR (NSR(C)), NSR station (NSR(S)), liquified petroleum gas SR (LPGSR), water electrolysis (WE) were each applied to the FCs. The environmental impacts and the energy efficiencies of the FCs were compared with rechargeable batteries such as $LiFePO_4$ (LFP) and Nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH). The LCA results show that MCFC_NSR(C) and PEMFC_NSR(C) have the lowest global warming potential (GWP) with 6.23E-02 kg $CO_2$ eq./MJ electricity and 6.84E-02 kg $CO_2$ eq./MJ electricity, respectively. For the impact category of abiotic resource depletion potential (ADP), MCFC_NGSR(S) and PEMFC_NGSR(S) show the lowest impacts of 7.42E-01 g Sb eq./MJ electricity and 7.19E-01 g Sb eq./MJ electricity, respectively. And, the energy efficiencies of the FCs are higher than those of the rechargeable batteries except for the case of hydrogen produced by WE.

A low capacity generator converted to high capacity of 40m3 is designed and developed in order to use the hydroxy gas in the steel manufacturing process. For efficient design, it is increased from 8 electrode tubes to 10 electrode tubes as well as expanding the diameter of cell integument up to two times bigger, which can increase the amount of hydrogen occurrence per a cell significantly. In addition, circulating pump and pipe, heat exchanger of affiliated SUS material have been used in the circulation of electrolysis catalyst, and circulating cooling section and piping design are also developed. The flame trap is designed into all-in-one suitable check valve in the flow rate of 28-35m3/h and its application is possibly applied in work operation. It is found that the efficiency of generator developed is enhanced substantially up to 84%. It is expected that the application in this field can be expanded significantly by this study.

When Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) is vaporized into NG for industrial and household usage, tremendous cold energy was transferred from LNG to seawater during phase-changing process. This heat exchanger loop is not only a waste of huge cold energy, but will cause thermal pollution to the coastal fishery area also when cold water was re-injected into the sea. In this study, an innovation design has been performed to reclaim the cold energy for -35 to $62^{\circ}C$ refrigerated warehouse. Conventionally, this was done by installing mechanical refrigeration systems, necessitating tremendous electrical power to drive temperature. A closed loop LNG heat exchangers in series was designed to replace the mechanical or vapor-compression refrigeration cycle by process simulator. The process simulation software of PRO II with provision has been used to simulate this process for various conditions, what to effect on cold energy and used energy for re-liquefaction and evaporation process. In addition, through analysis the effect of the change of LNG supply pressure on sensible and latent heat, optimum operational conditions was suggested for LNG cold energy warehouse.

With the increasing awareness of the importance of carbon neutrality in response to global climate change, the utilization of hydrogen as a carbon-free fuel source is also growing. Hydrogen is commonly used in fuel cells (FC), but it can also be utilized in internal combustion engines (ICE) that are based on combustion. Particularly, ICEs that already have established infrastructure for production and supply can greatly contribute to the expansion of hydrogen energy utilization when it becomes difficult to rely solely on fuel cells or expand their infrastructure. However, a disadvantage of utilizing hydrogen through combustion is the potential generation of nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are harmful emissions formed when nitrogen in the air reacts with oxygen at high temperatures. In particular, for the EURO-7 exhaust regulation, which includes cold start operation, efforts to reduce exhaust emissions during the warm-up process are required. Therefore, in this study, the characteristics of nitrogen oxides and fuel consumption were investigated during the warm-up process of cooling water from room temperature to 88℃ using a 2-liter direct injection spark ignition (SI) engine fueled with hydrogen. One advantage of hydrogen, compared to conventional fuels like gasoline, natural gas, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), is its wide flammable range, which allows for sparser control of the excessive air ratio. In this study, the excessive air ratio was varied as 1.6/1.8/2.0 during the warm-up process, and the results were analyzed. The experimental results show that as the excessive air ratio becomes sparser during warm-up, the emission of nitrogen oxides per unit time decreases, and the thermal efficiency relatively increases. However, as the time required to reach the final temperature becomes longer, the cumulative emissions and fuel consumption may worsen.
