  • The breakup characteristics of liquid sheets formed by the impinging and swirl type injectors were studied as increasing the Weber number (or injection condition) and the ambient gas pressure to 4.0.MPa. In the case of impinging type injector. we compared the changes of breakup lengths between laminar and turbulent sheets. which are formed by the impingement of laminar and turbulent jets. respectively. The results showed that both sheets expand as increasing the injection velocity irrespective of the ambient gas density when the gas based Weber number is low. When the Weber number is high, however, the breakup of turbulent sheet depends on the hydraulic force of jets as well as the aerodynamic force of ambient gas which determines the breakup of laminar sheet. Using the experimental results. we could suggest empirical models on the breakup lengths of laminar and turbulent sheets. In the case of swirl type injector. as $We_l$, and ambient gas density increased, the disturbances on the annular liquid sheet surface were amplified by the increase of the aerodynamic forces. and thus the liquid sheet disintegrated near from the injector exit. Finally, the measured breakup length of swirl type injector according to the ambient gas density and $We_l$, was compared with the result by the linear instability theory. We found that the corrected breakup length relation derived from linear instability theory considering the attenuation of sheet thickness agrees well with our experimental results.

  • The spray and breakup characteristics of swirling liquid sheet were investigated by measuring the spray angle and breakup length as the axial Weber number Wel was increased up to 1554 and the ambient gas pressure up to 4.0MPa. As Wel and ambient gas density increased, the disturbances on the annular liquid sheet surface were amplified by the increase of the aerodynamic forces, and thus the liquid sheet disintegrated near from the injector exit. The measured spray angles according to the ambient gas density were different before and after the sheet breaks. Before the liquid sheet breaks, the spray angle was almost constant, but once the liquid sheet started to breakup, the spray angle decreased. And the breakup length decreased because of the increase of the aerodynamic force as the ambient gas density and Wel increased. Lastly, the measured breakup length according to the ambient gas density and Wel was compared with the result by the linear instability theory. We found that the corrected linear instability theory considering the attenuation of sheet thickness agrees well with our experimental results.

  • This study investigated the characteristics of spray generated by a liquid coaxial swirl injector used in a combustor of the liquid rocket engine. The linear stability analysis considered long and short wave was introduced in liquid sheet breakup. Through the hydrodynamic analysis the initial liquid sheet thickness spray angle and injection velocity were predicted. To evaluate the effect of turbulence model standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ and RNC $k-{\varepsilon}$ model were applied to numerical calculation and it was known that RNC $k-{\varepsilon}$ model was more applicable to predict spray characteristics. On the basis of this evaluation validation of the developed model was performed with swirl injector installed in LPRE and the predicted results of breakup length, spray angle, and SMD agreed well with experiments qualitatively and quantitatively.

  • In general existing air conditioning devices, which are carried out by convection heat transfer, are very popular compared with the radiation type air conditioning devices. But perconal convection tpe air conditioning units are unuseful air conditioning type because it handles amount of surrounded air to meet the temperature and humidity. In this view, this study is intended to develope personal dir conditioning units using a radiation type radiator. Liquid Droplet Radiator(L.P.R.) radiates the energy by means of thermal radiation. Radiative energy from L.P.R. is the infrared rays which heat the objects without lose of energy. It is a desirable heating method for the local area within the large room. In this study, the analysis uses the Monte Carlo methd to predict the temperature distribution in the droplet sheet and the net heat flux from the L.D.R.. And for this study and experiment was carried out to analyse the radiative and convective heat transfer characteristics in the L.D.R.. And the experiment was investigated the effects of inlet temperature, feed rate, optical thickness and droplet diameter on heat transfer characteristics of L.D.R.. The obtained results from the numerical and experimental studies of L.D.R. were as follows ; (1) The heat flux of L.D.R. was effected by extinction coefficient of droplet sheet, optical thickness and droplet temperature, surface area and emissivity of the droplet. And it was increased with the temperature, feed rate and optical thickness, on the other hand decreased with increasing of droplet diameter. (2) The experimental results for heat flux was ecalucted below 20% than that of the numerical solution by Monte Carlo method, but the tendency of the variation shows relatively good agreement.

  • Nowadays, the number of PV module corporation is increasing due to demand growth of silicon solar module. However almost study of module is research about increasing of efficiency for it. This study is evaluation and development for process of module using the silicone encapsulation material instead of existing EVA sheet. We are changed adding material ratio on silicone and thickness of silicone. So we get better efficiency than EVA sheet through the evaluation for silicone liquid and modulation. Also, we are test after establishing manufacture system being able to quicker than existing modules line. The result of EVA sheet is average 207.47W and silicone material is 211.32W so we think that silicone is better than EVA sheet.

  • In the present work, the breakup mechanism of highly viscous epoxy paints discharged from a fan spray nozzle was examined experimentally. The paints tested were non-Newtonian fluids, composed of epoxy resin, solid particles and other additives. The paint spray discharged from the nozzle was visualized and recorded using a digital camera with back illumination. Due to presence of the solid particles, perforation of liquid sheet was observed in most cases, even at low-Reynolds number conditions (Re < 15,000) where the aerodynamic-wave breakup mode is used to be dominant for pure liquids. However, with the increase of the particle concentration, the sheet became longer and the thickness at breakup became thinner to some extent. This is because, with higher concentration of solid particles, the stabilizing effect by the viscosity increase predominates over the destabilizing effect by perforation.

  • It is important to form the n+ emitter layer for generating electric potential collecting EHP(Electron-Hole Pair). In this paper the formation on the n+ emitter layer of silicon wafer has been made with respect to uniformity of shallow diffusion from a liquid source. The starting material was crystalline silicon wafers of resistivity $0.5{\sim}3\{Omega}{\cdot}cm$, p-type, thickness $200{\mu}m$, direction[100]. The formation of n+ emitter layer from the liquid $POCl_3$ source was carried out for $890^{\circ}C$ in an ambient of $N_2:O_2$::10:1 by volume. And than each conditions are pre-deposition and drive-in time. It has been made uniformity of at least. so, the average of sheet resistance was about 0.12%. In this study, sheet resistance was measured by 4-point prove.

  • The performance of waterproofing system (WPS) is known to be a function of many complex interaction of material factors, design details, and the quality of construction, but it is mainly determined by the bond strength, which is measured by tensile adhesive strength (TAS) test. to the concrete bridge deck. In this research, eight waterproofing membranes were selected from commercial market and the tensile adhesive characteristics of the WPS on concrete bridge deck were investigated in view of various factor in asphalt pavement. The factors include type of asphalt mixture, pavement thickness, paving temperature and influence of wheel loading. TAS test of different asphalt pavement types showed that TAS of WPS under SMA (Stone Mastic Asphalt) pavement was greater than that under dense asphalt pavement. TAS of sheet membranes was improved as the compaction temperature of asphalt concrete increase, but TAS of liquid membranes were not. The influence of thickness of pavement val minimal with given laboratory test condition. TAS of sheet membranes after wheel tracking test were in the order of the sites under wheel path (UWP), before wheel tracking (BWT) and nearby wheel path (NWP). Since TAS of the same WPS of UWP was higher than TAS of BWT, wheel loading had function of pressing WPS resulting in higher adhesive strength. But liquid membranes were variable on types. The feature of detached interface after TAS test showed that sheet types were all detached in between deck concrete and WPS, and liquid types were detached in between asphalt pavement and WPS.

  • The reflood test data from the rod bundle heat transfer (RBHT) test facility showed that the grids in the upper portion of the rod bundle could become wet well before the arrival of the quench front and that the sizes of liquid droplets downstream of a wet grid could not be predicted by the droplet breakup models for a dry grid. To investigate the water droplet generation from a wet grid spacer, a viscous linear temporal instability model of the water sheet issuing from the trailing edge of the grid with the surrounding steam up-flow is developed in this study. The Orr-Sommerfeld equations along with appropriate boundary conditions for the flow are solved using Chebyshev series expansions and the Tau-Galerkin projection method. The effects of several physical parameters on the water sheet oscillation are studied by determining the variation of the temporal growth rate with the wavenumber. It is found that a larger relative steam velocity to water velocity has a tendency to destabilize the water sheet with increased dynamic pressure. On the other hand, a larger ratio of steam boundary layer to the half water sheet thickness has a stabilizing effect on the water sheet oscillation. Droplet diameters downstream of the spacer grid predicted by the present model are found to compare reasonably well with the data obtained at the RBHT test facility as well as with other data recently reported in the literature.
