  • SyncML is an open standard data synchronization protocol proposed by OMA(Open Mobile Alliance). In this paper, a Session Handler module, one of major modules for developing SyncML data synchronization clients, and a client User Setup program are designed and implemented. The Session Handier Module controls communication sessions, generates header parts of messages exchanged, and determines the legitimacy of incoming messages. In order to justify normal operations of the Session Handler module and the client User Setup program implemented In this paper, they are ported to a Zaurus PDA, which runs on LINUX operating system. In addition, data synchronization operations are performed between the PDA and a Synthesis sever, whose SyncML data synchronization operation is certificated by OMA, Wireless Internet International Standard Forum.

  • The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA) system provides monitoring, data gathering, analysis, and control of the equipment used to manage most infrastructure. The SCADA Network is implemented in a various manner for larger utilities, and multiple types of protocol and communication interfaces are used to network the control center to remote sites. The existing SCADA equipment and protocols were designed and implemented with availability and efficiency, and as a result security was not a consideration. So, performance, reliability, flexibility and safety of SCADA systems are robust, while the security of these systems is often weak. This makes some SCADA networks potentially vulnerable to disruption of service, process redirection, or manipulation of operational data that could result in public safety concerns and/or serious disruptions to the infrastructure. To reduce the risks, therefore, there is a need to have a security device such as cipher devices or cryptographic modules for security solutions. In this paper we develop an embedded cipher device for the SCADA equipment. This paper presents a cipher device designed to improve the security of its networks, especially in the serial communication.

  • Many public organizations have been adopting and operating various servers. These servers run on Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems that generally use less than 10% of their capacity. For migrating a public organization to cloud computing, we must first virtualize the server environment. This article proposes a strategy for server virtualization that the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) has done and describes the effects of a public organization migrating to cloud computing. The NIPA Computer Center planned an effective virtualization migration on various servers. This project of virtualization migration was conducted with the existing policy of separate x86 servers and Unix servers. There are three popular approaches to server virtualization: a virtual machine model, a paravirtual machine model, and virtualization at the operating system layer. We selected a VMware solution that uses the virtual machine model. We selected servers for virtualization in the following manner. Servers were chosen that had the highest rate of service usage and CPU usage and had been operating for five years or more. However, we excluded servers that require 80% or greater rates of CPU usage. After adopting the server virtualization technique, we consolidated 32 servers into 3 servers. Virtualization is a technology that can provide benefits in these areas: server consolidation and optimization, infrastructure cost reduction and improved operational flexibility, and implementation of a dual computing environment.

IP-PBX do not use the phone line from phone work for many companies and institutions of management costs reduce as provides similar to regular phone line quality. But IP-PBX to introduce for need to be the initial cost on is should buy for expensive hardware equipment or commercial software. In this paper, suggest way to introduce IP-PBX do not buy expensive hardware equipment or commercial software. Suggest IP-PBX on designed and implement for IP-PBX server using Raspberry Pi and Asterisk. • In this paper, we propose a socket interface layer for large-scale multimedia servers that adopt TCP/IP Offload Engines (TOE). In order to provide legacy network applications with binary level compatibility, the socket interface layer intercepts all socket-related system calls to forward to either TOE or legacy TCP/IP Protocol stack. The layer is designed and implemented as a kernel module in Linux. The layer is located between BSD socket layer and INET socket layer, and passes the application's socket requests to INET socket layer or TOE. The layer provides multimedia servers and web servers with the following features: (1) All standard socket APIs and file I/O APIs that are supported (2) Support for binary level compatibility of existing socket programs (3) Support for TOE and legacy Ethernet NICs at the same time.

  • Recently computing devices by connecting to a network, grid computing, the next generation of digital neural networks that provide maximum service will connect all of the computer such as a PC or server, PDA into one giant network makes the virtual machine. Therefore, we propose the grid computing implementation model to be applied to meteorological business field as follows. First, grid computing will be used for tasks such as the development of numerical models below the mid-scale or test operations, and the final backup of the weather supercomputer. Second, the resources that will constitute grid computing are limited to business PCs and Linux servers operated by the central government considering operational efficiency. Third, the network is restricted to the LAN section, which suggests the implementation of high performance computing.

  • SELinux is used for system level security in various systems using Linux, and is now being used for device security such as IoT. However, since SELinux has inherent problems of execution time degradation, various studies have been conducted to solve this problem. In this paper, we show that performance can be improved through policy reconfiguration in the environment where the loadable module policy method, which is a general method using SELinux, is applied. By reconfiguring the access query table through the Priority-TE policy that gives priority to the type, it is possible to provide faster execution time for types requiring faster access query performance. This paper introduces the differences between SELinux policy configuration method in Monolithic environment and performance analysis. This can be used as a reference by security administrators or developers in applying SELinux.

  • IEEE Std 1609.2 was defined for the support of communication security functions in the WAVE (Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments) system. IEEE Std 1609.2 defined the message structures of the security services and managements on the vehicular communication by using ASN.1 (Abstract Syntax Notation One). Also, this security message structures shall be encoded using the COER (Canonical Octet Encoding Rules). In this paper, we designed and implemented the IEEE Std 1609.2 message encoder/decoder handling the security messages defined in IEEE Std 1609.2. The designed encoder/decoder consists of three modules as follows : a module generating the message of C language data structures in accord with IEEE Std 1609.2 message structures, a message encoder module, a message decoder module. And the encoder/decoder was implemented on the Linux environment. Also we analyzed the performance by measuring the performance speed of the encoder/decoder implemented.

  • We report the current status of CQUEAN (Camera for QUasars in EArly uNiverse) development. CQUEAN is an optical CCD camera which uses a 1024*1024 pixel deep-depletion CCD. It has an enhanced QE than conventional CCD at wavelength band around 1${\mu}m$, thus it will be an efficient tool for observation of quasars at z > 7. It will be attached to the 2.1m telescope at McDonald Observatory, USA. A telescope interface containing a focal reducer is being designed to secure a larger field of view at the cassegrain focus of 2.1m telescope. Instrument control software will be written with python on linux platform. We are carrying out lab tests to investigate the characteristics of the system components in order to maximize the observational efficiency. Preliminary results of the tests will be presented. CQUEAN is expected to see the first light during summer season of 2010.

  • In this paper, we designed an embedded audio video bridging (AVB) platform based on IEEE 802.1BA for real-time multimedia transmission in smart-car, smart-home, smart-theater, and then evaluated a performance of the implemented platform by analysis of IEEE 802.1AS (time synchronization protocol) and IEEE 802.1Qat (stream reservation protocol). Especially, the AVB Layer-2 protocol of MRP(Multiple Registration Protocol), MMAP(Multicast Address Acquisition Protocol), IEEE 1722, 1722.1 etc. was and implemented by linux based operating system. It is shown by interoperability tests with commercial products that the implemented platform transmits real-time multichannel AV data over AVB networks for Multichannel Multimedia Transmission.
