In the indoor location estimation system, which has recently been actively studied, the received signal strength indicator contains a high level of noise when measuring the signal strength in the range between two nodes consisting of a receiver and a transceiver. To minimize the noise level, this paper proposes an improved adaptive smoothing filter that provides different exponential weights to the current value and previous averaged one of the data that were obtained from the nodes, because the characteristic signal attenuation of the received signal strength indicator generally has a log distribution. The proposed method can effectively decrease the noise level by using a feedback filter that can provide different weights according to the noise level of the obtained data and thus increase the accuracy in the distance and location without an additional filter such as the link quality indicator, which can verify the communication quality state to decrease the range errors in the indoor location recognition using ZigBee based on IEEE 802.15.4. For verifying the performance of the proposed improved adaptive smoothing filter, actual experiments are conducted in three indoor locations of different spatial sections. From the experimental results, it is verified that the proposed technique is superior to other techniques in range measurement.

Recently, there has been a fast paradigm shift in the automotive market from the traditional machine-oriented technology into the technology for vehicle informatics and electronics. In particular, telematics market is accelerating the development of technologies for vehicle informatics through the close cooperation between the vehicle makers and mobile communication companies. However, there may be the degradation of the quality of service by the interference since the telematics uses the wireless communication infrastructure for the base station-to-vehicle communication and the vehicle-to-vehicle communication. This paper presents an analysis device to easily analyze the interference by the wireless communication in the vehicle wireless network environment. Using the analysis results by the presented device, this paper shows that the link quality can be improved through the simulation and the experiment in real environment both.

Conventional maritime communication struggles to provide high data rate services for Internet of Things (IoT) devices due to the variability of maritime environments, making it challenging to ensure consistent connectivity for onboard sensors and devices. To resolve this, we perform mathematical modeling of the maritime channel and compare it with real measurement data. Through the modeled channel, we verify the received beam gain at buoys on the ocean surface. Additionally, leveraging the modeled wave motions, we estimate future angles of the buoy to use the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) for design beamforming strategies that adapt to the evolving maritime environment over time. We further validate the effectiveness of these strategies by assessing the results from an outage probability perspective. focuses on improving maritime communication by developing a dynamic model of the maritime channel and implementing a Kalman filter-based buoy motion tracking system. This system is designed to enable precise beamforming, a technique used to direct communication signals more accurately. By improving beamforming, the aim is to enhance the quality of communication links, even in challenging maritime conditions like rough seas and varying sea states. In our simulations that consider realistic wave motions, you've observed significant improvements in link quality due to the enhanced beamforming technique. These improvements are particularly notable in environments with high sea states, where communication challenges are typically more pronounced. The progress made in this area is not just a technical achievement; it has broad implications for the future of maritime communication technologies. This paper promises to revolutionize the way we approach communication in maritime environments, paving the way for more reliable and efficient information exchange on the seas.

This study investigates the quality control and the finishability improvement properties of durable marine concrete under construct in Geo-je Ka-duk fixed link project. Below $3.5\times10^{-12}m^2/s$ chloride migration coefficient and above 40MPa compressive strength are required for the caisson structure concrete. The quality control was performed from physical-chemical analysis of raw materials to concrete test. Also, the efficiency of vibration type and action interval were tested to remove the entrapped air on the faced to form. And kinds of form and remolding agent were also tested. This paper aim to enhance the practical use of high performance concrete to construction field.

This paper deals with electromagnetic transient modelling of wind power system embedded in distribution networks. Wind power system consists of induction generator link reactor, distribution line, and controlled load unit. The introduction of embedded wind power system presents a new set of conditions to networks both with respect to power quantify needed to be transported and power quality such as sag swell, very short interruption, and flicker. This paper investigates the transient behavior of voltage, frequency, and load flow in wind driven induction generation system embedded in distribution networks.

This paper propose the advanced topology of UPQC, its DC link is connected with Lithium battery, to compensate the momentary interruptions. The proposed system can be operated as UPS mode using the parallel inverter, which control the charge or discharge of battery, in case of the interruption. We dvelop 100kVA UPQC using the proposed topology to rise the power quality and the reliability of Microgrid. We verify its usefulness through voltage compensation test, UPS operation test and etc. using Microgrid test facility.

Background: In industrial countries, home care of community dwelling elderly people is rapidly growing. Frequent injuries in home caregivers result from slips, trips, and falls (STFs). The current study tests attentional cognitive failure to mediate the association between work stressors and STFs. Methods: A sample of 125 home caregivers participated in a questionnaire study and reported work interruptions, unreasonable tasks, quality-threatening time pressure, conscientiousness, attentional cognitive failures, and STFs. Results: In structural equation modeling, the mediation model was shown to fit empirical data. Indirect paths with attentional cognitive failures as the link between work stressors and STF were all significant in bootstrapping tests. An alternative accident-prone person model, that suggests individual differences in conscientiousness to predict attentional cognitive failures that predict more frequent work stressors and STFs, showed no significant paths between work conditions and STFs. Conclusion: To prevent occupational injury, work should be redesigned to reduce work interruptions, unreasonable tasks, and quality-threatening time pressure in home care.

Link reduction algorithms such as pathfinder network are the widely used methods to overcome problems with the visualization of weighted networks for knowledge domain analysis. This study proposed NetRSQ, an indicator to measure the goodness of fit of a link reduction algorithm for the network visualization. NetRSQ is developed to calculate the fitness of a network based on the rank correlation between the path length and the degree of association between entities. The validity of NetRSQ was investigated with data from previous research which qualitatively evaluated several network generation algorithms. As the primary test result, the higher degree of NetRSQ appeared in the network with better intellectual structures in the quality evaluation of networks built by various methods. The performance of 4 link reduction algorithms was tested in 40 datasets from various domains and compared with NetRSQ. The test shows that there is no specific link reduction algorithm that performs better over others in all cases. Therefore, the NetRSQ can be a useful tool as a basis of reliability to select the most fitting algorithm for the network visualization of intellectual structures.
There have been many studies to improve the efficiency of the CG production process, but it was not easy to overcome the problem that it was difficult to check the result in the middle of work and it took a lot of time for rendering. However, as the possibility of using Unreal Live Link, which can check the result in real-time, is increasing, expectations for improving the efficiency of the production process are rising. This study analyzed the efficiency of the 3D animation production process using Unreal Live Link. To this end, modeling, rigging, animation, and layout work were done in Maya, and the final output image sequence was rendered in Unreal Engine through Unreal Live Link. And the difference between this production process and the existing production process in which the final output image sequence is rendered in the 3D software itself was compared and analyzed. As a result of the analysis, unlike the traditional 3D animation production process, it was possible to check the final work result in real-time by proceeding with the work through a high-quality viewport screen, and it was found that the efficiency of work was maximized by deriving the final result through real-time screen capture. Recently, the use of game engines in the 3D animation and film industry is gradually increasing, and the efficiency of work is expected to be maximized if Unreal Live Link is used.

The paper aims to investigate auditors, auditing firms and other external factors that affect quality of information technology audit in Vietnam. We conducted 2 types of data collections including direct and on survey. For direct survey, we sent directly to auditors at the training classes organized by State Securities Exchanges Commission. An online survey was established and Google doc link was provided to the Big4 and non-Big4 auditors. We received 138 survey responses in that 90 auditors came from Big4 and 48 auditors from non-Big4 firms. The data are analyzed using a factor analysis and compare means approaches to illustrate the potential IT audit quality factors and identify differences between two groups of auditors. The results show that independence and accounting knowledge and audit skills are the most important factors. And since external auditors perform many assurance services, the independence is critical. The result also shows that the auditors need to have enough competent and professional skills when conducting an audit, especially within an IT environment that requires high quality. The findings suggest a similar pattern of two groups in the context of Vietnam and some factors of auditors and auditing firms appear to have a statistically significant impact on quality of IT audit.
