A Study on Assessment of Fatigue Durability for Composite Torque Link of Landing Gear (착륙장치 복합재 토크링크 피로내구성 평가에 대한 연구)

  • This research work contributed to a study for the procedure and methodology to assess the fatigue durability for a composite torque link of helicopter landing gear, which was newly developed and fabricated by the resin transfer moulding technique to interchange with metal component. The simulated load spectrum anticipated to be applied to the torque link during its operation life was generated using an advanced method of probabilistic random process, and the fatigue durability was evaluated by the strength degradation approach on the basis of material test data. The full scale fatigue test was also performed and compared with the analysis results.

  • Traffic safety and congestion are becoming more and more serious, especially the frequent occurrence of traffic accidents, which have caused great casualties and economic losses. Cellular Vehicle to Everything (C-V2X) can assist in safe driving and improve traffic efficiency through real-time information sharing and communication between vehicles. All vehicles communicate directly with Base Stations (BS), which will increase the base station load. And when the communicating vehicles are too far apart, too fast or there are obstacles in the communication path, the communication link can be unstable or even interrupted. Therefore, choosing an effective and reliable multi-hop relay-assisted Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) communication can not only reduce the base station load and improve the system throughput but also expand the base station coverage and improve the communication quality of edge vehicles. Therefore, a communication area division scheme based on regular hexagon segmentation technology is proposed, a relay-assisted V2V communication mechanism is designed for the divided communication areas, and an efficient communication link is constructed by selecting the best relay node. Simulation results show that the scheme can improve the throughput of the system by nearly 55% and enhance the robustness of the V2V communication link.

  • In this paper, the PV system with a link to the commercial system needs some advantages like small capacity, high power factor, high reliability, low harmonic output, maximum power operation of solar cell, and low cost, etc. as well as the properties of inverter. To transfer the PV energy of photovoltaic power generation system to the system and load, it requires PCS in both directions. The purpose of this paper is to confirm the stable power supply through the load leveling by presenting the PCS considering ESS of photovoltaic power generation. In order to achieve these purpose, 5 step process of operation mode algorithm were used according to the solar insolation amount and load capacity and the controller for charging/ discharging control was designed. For bidirectional and effective energy transfer, the bidirectional converter and battery at DC-link stage were connected and the DC-link voltage and inverter output voltage through the interactive inverter were controlled. In order to prove the validity of the suggested system, the simulation using PSIM was performed and were reviewed for its validity and stability. The 3[kW] PCS was manufactured and its test was conducted in order to check this situation. In addition, the system characteristics suggested through the test results was verified and the PCS system presented in this study was excellent and stronger than that of before system.

An Auction based Hierarchical Link Allocation Algorithm for Throughput Improvement of Relay Station Systems (Relay Station 시스템의 Throughput 향상을 위한 Auction 기반 계층적 링크 할당 알고리듬)

  • In this paper, a hierarchical link allocation algorithm between mobile stations (MSs) and the corresponding base station (BS) by an optimal utilization of relay stations (RSs) is proposed to improve throughput of RS systems. In the proposed hierarchical algorithm, each RS operates cognitive radio functions to sense the degree of satisfaction in the quality of services (QoSs) and then selects the candidate set of MSs to have links with the RS. Such information is reported to the BS, where an auction process is performed to get an optimal allocation of communication links between the MSs and the BS. To maximize system throughput, the proposed auction algorithm is conducted upon bidding prices of communication links, considering both the co-channel interference (CCI) information shared among adjacent cells and the QoS enhancement information for each MS collected from RSs. The BS then switches the communication links of the auction winner MSs through the corresponding RS. The computer simulation shows that the proposed algorithm enhances the user QoS more than the conventional algorithm, especially for RS systems with more users requiring higher QoS. The proposed algorithm has also been proved to have more robust performance than the conventional one when the traffic load is higher and the CCI becomes stronger.

  • In this paper, the test bed using three-phase PWM converter connected with single phase inverter in series is set up to configure an active AC electric load. Since the two topologies, three-phase PWM converter and single-phase inverter, can be operated bidirectionally, the system not only re-generates surplus power to grid but also prevents power dissipation. However, the construction of system has a drawback. That is, ripple components two times of inverter operation frequency occur at DC-Link due to cascade connection, it can be cause of three phase unbalance Since the operational characteristic of the active AC electric load, the power frequency entered into the electric load can be varied, and the ripple of DC-Link is changed as well. In this paper, the three-phase PWM converter using a variable notch filter is proposed, and the reduction of three-phase current unbalance is presented. the validity of the proposed PWM converter using a variable notch filter is verified by the simulation and experimental results.

Single-Phase Improved Auxiliary Resonant Snubber Inverter that Reduces the Auxiliary Current and THD

  • An LC filter is required to reduce the output current ripple in the auxiliary resonant snubber inverter (ARSI) for high-performance applications. However, if the traditional control method is used in the ARSI with LC filter, then unnecessary current flows in the auxiliary circuit. In addressing this problem, a novel load-adaptive control that fully uses the filter inductor current ripple to realize the soft-switching of the main switches is proposed. Compared with the traditional control implemented in the ARSI with LC filter, the proposed control can reduce the required auxiliary current, contributing to higher efficiency and DC-link voltage utilization. In this study, the detailed circuit operation in the light load mode (LLM) and the heavy load mode (HLM) considering the inductor current ripple is described. The characteristics of the improved ARSI are expressed mathematically. A prototype with 200 kHz switching frequency, 80 V DC voltage, and 8 A maximum output current was developed to verify the effectiveness of the improved ARSI. The proposed ARSI was found to successfully operate in the LLM and HLM, achieving zero-voltage switching (ZVS) of the main switches and zero-current switching (ZCS) of the auxiliary switches from zero load to full load. The DC-link voltage utilization of the proposed control is 0.758, which is 0.022 higher than that of the traditional control. The peak efficiency is 91.75% at 8 A output current for the proposed control, higher than 89.73% for the traditional control. Meanwhile, the carrier harmonics is reduced from -44 dB to -66 dB through the addition of the LC filter.

Load Control Scheme Using Rate Control for CDMA2000 1x System (CDMA2000 1x시스템에서 전송률제어를 이용한 부하제어 방식)

  • In a CDMA system, the rapacity is variable and mainly depends on multiple access interference. The multiple access interference has a deep relationship with transmitted or received power. The capacity of CDMA2000 1x system is considered to be limited by the forward link capacity. In this paper, we show that the transmitted power can represent the total cell load and we propose a load control scheme for CDMA2000 1x system. CDMA2000 1x system has fast power control scheme and we can measure forward link cell load by using total transmitted power. In the proposed algorithm, by monitoring the total transmit power, we can simply adjust data rate to channel conditions and efficiently use radio resources. The proposed algorithm is practical algorithm to implement in the power controlled CDMA systems and enhances the system throughput and quality of service(QoS)

  • MPLS enables efficient explicit routing, and thus provides great advantages in supporting traffic engineering. Exploiting this capability, we Propose a load balancing scheme which deploys a multipath routing. It is named LBM (Load Balancing in MPLS networks), and targets at efficient network utilization as well as performance enhancement. LBM establishes multiple LSP (Label Switched Path)s between a pair of ingress-egress routers, and distributes traffic over these LSPs at the new level. Its routing decision is based on both the length and the utilization of the paths. In order to enhance the efficiency of a link usage, a link is limited to be used by shorter paths as its utilization becomes higher Longer paths are considered to be candidate alternative paths as the utilization of shorter paths becomes higher. Simulation experiments are performed in order to compare the performance of LBM to that of static shortest path only scheme as well as the other representative dynamic multipath traffic distribution approaches. The simulation results show that LBM outperforms the compared approaches, and the performance gain is more significant when the traffic distribution among the ingress-egress pairs is non-uniform.

Instantaneous Control of a Single-phase PWM Converter Considering the Voltage Ripple Estimate (전압 리플 추정을 고려한 단산 PWM 컨버터의 순시치 제어)

  • In this paper, instantaneous controller of a single-phase PWM converter is realized using DSP. The stable PI gain of the input current and the DC link voltage control system is designed. The DC link voltage control system can be designed in continuous-time domain. But as for the input current control system, the descretizing effect cannot be ignored so it must be designed in descrete-time domain considering the calculation time. The capacitance estimating algorithm which can be acquired through the ripple voltage is proposed. By this algorithm the DC link capacitance can be estimated even under the transient state. Experimental results show the input power factor of 99.1% and the voltage variation rate of $\pm$5% according to the load variation.

A New Single-Stage PFC AC/DC Converter with Low Link-Capacitor Voltage

  • A conventional Single-Stage Power-Factor-Correction (PFC) AC/DC converter has a link capacitor voltage problem under high line input and low load conditions. In this paper, this problem is analyzed by using the voltage conversion ratio of the DC/DC conversion cell. By applying this analysis, a new Single-Stage PFC AC/DC converter with a boost PFC cell integrated with a Voltage-Doubler Rectified Asymmetrical Half-Bridge (VDRAHB) is proposed. The proposed converter features good power factor correction, low current harmonic distortions, tight output regulations and low voltage of the link capacitor. An 85W prototype was implemented to show that it meets harmonic requirements and standards satisfactorily with near unity power factor and high efficiency over universal input.
