The test of engine performance using the engine dynamometer needs technical researchers and facilities. A variety of CAE analysis programs and DoE(Design of Experiments) are used to analyze data efficiently instead of tests. The study got data from simulations of WAVE that used to model the SI engine to identify performance of engine. DoE makes it possible to know effectiveness of factors for power, BSFC, volume efficiency and find optimum condition in each factor through minimizing number of experiments. CA50 has effect on power and BSFC as volume efficiency is related with cylinder liner temperature and heat coefficients. The final result in DoE could be identified of consistency above 98% after substituting the data to WAVE.

In this paper, a linear ultrasonic motor using piezoelectric ceramics was fabricated, and its operation characteristics were investigated. A linear ultrasonic motor using L$_1$-B$_4$model was composed of a stator and a rotor, and a stator was composed of piezoelectric ceramics and a elastic body. When applied frequency and voltage were 58.4kHz and 56V respectively, the feeding speed of the motor was 19.8 cm/s. A linear ultrasonic motor could be moved in left and right directions by the phase difference. Feeding speed and feeding force of a linear ultrasonic motor could be controlled by applied voltage. A linear ultrasonic motor had a droping torque-speed characteristic. The maximum efficiency of linear ultrasonic motor was 2.14%. Therefore, this linear ultrasonic motor can be expected to be used for a card-forwarding device, such as a card reader device and so on.

The displacement current measurement has been employed to study the dielectric properties of Langmuir films. A method for determining the dielectric relaxation time $\tau$ of floating monolayers on water surface is presented. The displacement current flowing across monolayers is analyzed using a rod-like molecular model. It's revealed that the dielectric relaxation time $\tau$ of monolayers in the isotropic polar orientational phase is determined using a liner relationship between the monolayers compression speed $\alpha$ and the molecular maximum area $A_{m}$. The compression speed $\alpha$ was about 30, 40, 50mm/minmm/min
Maxwell displacement current(MDC) measuring technique has been employed to study the dielectric property of Langmuir-films. A method for determining the dielectric relaxation time ${\tau}$ of floating monolayers on the water surface is presented. MDC flowing across monolayers is analyzed using a rod-like molecular model. It is revealed that the dielectric relaxation time ${\tau}$ of monolayers in the isotropic polar orientational phase is determined using a liner relationship between the monolayer compression speed ${\alpha}$ and the molecular area Am. Compression speed ${\alpha}$ was about 30, 40, 50mm/min.
This paper considers two dimensional analysis for lubrication between the single piston ring and the cylinder liner. The piston ring is treated as a reciprocating, hydrodynamic bearing with combined sliding and squeeze motion. Reynolds' equation is used, to model lubrication with Reynolds' cavitation boundary condition. This analysis is developed to get the cyclic variation of minimum film thickness and viscous frictional force. Two types of piston ring face shape are considered. This result can be used to study the influence of ring shape design parameter to improve the characteristics of sealing and lubrication.

In the practical communication environment, the accurate channel state information (CSI) is difficult to obtain, which will cause the mismatch of resource and degrade the system performance. In this paper, to account for the channel uncertainties, a robust power allocation scheme for a downlink Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) heterogeneous network (HetNet) is designed to maximize energy efficiency (EE), which can ensure the quality of service (QoS) of users. We conduct the robust optimization model based on worse-case method, in which the channel gains belong to certain ellipsoid sets. To solve the non-convex non-liner optimization, we transform the optimization problem via Dinkelbach method and sequential convex programming, and the power allocation of small cell users (SCUs) is achieved by Lagrange dual approach. Finally, we analysis the convergence performance of proposed scheme. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can improve total EE of SCUs, and has a fast convergence performance.

The Inverted Pendulum has been one of most popular nonlinear dynamic systems for the exploration of control techniques. This paper presents a new linear optimal control techniques and nonlinear neural network learning methods. The multiayered neural networks are used to add nonlinear effects on the linear optimal regulator(LQR). The new regulator can compensate nonlinear system uncertainties that are not considered in the LQR design, and can tolerated a wider range of uncertainties than the LQR alone. The new regulator has two neural networks for modeling and control. The neural network for modeling is used to obtain a more accurate model than the given mathematical equations. The neural network for control is used to overcome deficiencies by adding corrections to the linear coefficients of the LQR and by adding nonlinear effects on the LQR. Computer simulations are performed to show the applicability and a more robust regulator than the LQR alone.

In this study, the effects of the frequency-dependent characteristics of through-silicon vias (TSVs) on the performance of 3D ICs are examined by evaluating a typical interconnection structure, which is composed of 32-nm CMOS inverter drivers and receivers connected through TSVs. The frequency-domain model of TSVs is extracted in S-parameter from a 3D electromagnetic (EM) method, where the dimensional variation effect of TSVs can be accurately considered for a comprehensive parameter sweep simulation. A parametric analysis shows that the propagation delay increases with the diameter and height of the TSVs but decreases with the pitch and liner thickness. We also investigate the crosstalk effect between TSVs by testing different signaling conditions. From the simulations, the worst signal integrity is observed when the signal experiences a simultaneously coupled transition in the opposite direction from the aggressor lines. Simulation results for nine-TSV bundles having regular and staggered patterns reveal that the proposed method can characterize TSV-based 3D interconnections of any dimensions and patterns.
Purpose: This study addressed the relationship between technological innovation activity and management efficiency of Korean automobile firms. We tested the hypothesis of non-liner relationship of innovation activity in relation to management efficiency. Methods: We discussed prior literature in the firm innovation strategy and management efficiency studies to provide better understanding of relationships between technological innovation activity and management efficiency. As a result, we developed develop and tested a model (Inverted-U shaped) capturing the non-linear impact of technological innovation activity. While we used R&D expenditure and patent registration data for measuring firms' innovation activity, management efficiency was evaluated by using DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis). Results: Main findings of our empirical analysis indicated that the relationships between technological innovation activity and management efficiency was inverted U shaped. This implied that the relationship between technological innovation and management efficiency is inverted U-shaped non-linear, with management efficiency increasing up to a point, beyond which higher levels of R&D and patent registration activities led to a decrease in management efficiency. Conclusion: This study empirically assessed the inconclusive findings of previous research in the area of effects of innovation activities in relation to firm performance. The paper also provided theoretical and practical implications for firms who explore efficient strategy to promote the management performance through technological innovation activities. Future research directions with the limitation of the study was discussed.

Economic development is remarkable in Asia and progress of industrialization of NIES, ASEAN, and China in East Asia has increased the international physical distribution in this area. However, an imbalance of trade becomes severe in these areas. The imbalance is especially big in the Asia-North America route and the Japan-China route. The imbalance in the Asia -North America liner route is 5.04 million TEUS in 2002.The transportation ratio of loaded containers between China and Japan route is approximately 3:1 in 2000. In other words, it means that the transportation of loaded containers from China to Japan is 3, the transportation of loaded containers from Japan to China is I. The imbalance at a port is generally obtained by subtracting export loaded container cargo volume from import container cargo volume. However, the imbalance and the empty containers at the port are not always same. Then, in order to evaluate rationalization and efficiency of maritime container transportation, we introduce the amount of empty containers at a port as an evaluation index. However, the past data of the amount of handling empty containers have a lot of lacking portions. Then, it is necessary to estimate the past amount of empty containers in order to grasp the amount of empty containers historically. So, we construct the model that estimates the amount of empty containers using the imbalance of main port statistics in Japan.
