This study proposes a conceptual framework of in-situ vibration tests and analyses for quality appraisal of non-slender, cast-in-place piles with irregular cross-section configuration. It evaluates a frequency index from vibration recordings to a series of impulse loadings that is related to total soil-resistance forces around a pile, so as to assess if the pile achieves the design requirement in terms of bearing capacity. In particular, in-situ pile-vibration tests in sequential are carried out, in which dropping a weight from different heights generates series impulse loadings with low-to-high amplitudes. The high-amplitude impulse is designed in way that the load will generate equivalent static load that is equal to or larger than the designed bearing capacity of the pile. This study then uses empirical mode decomposition and Hilbert spectral analysis for processing the nonstationary, short-period recordings, so as to single out with accuracy the frequency index. Comparison of the frequency indices identified from the recordings to the series loadings with the design-based one would tell if the total soil resistance force remains linear or nonlinear and subsequently for the quality appraisal of the pile. As an example, this study investigates six data sets collected from the in-situ tests of two piles in Taipu water pump project, Jiangshu Province of China. It concludes that the two piles have the actual axial load capacity higher than the designed bearing capacity. The true bearing capacity of the piles under investigation can be estimated with accuracy if the amplitude of impact loadings is further increased and the analyses are calibrated with the static testing results.
The purpose of this research is to understand the levels of crisis and quality of life and the relationship between them. Data was collected from questionnaires completed by 384 middle-aged women between 40 and 59 years old. The sense of crisis was measured by a scale which was developed by Kim(1988) and modified by Oh(1999). The quality of life was measured by the scale which was developed by Noh(1988). The data was analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) program and included: descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and stepwise regression. The results of this study were as follows: 1) In the sense of crisis scale, 'experiencing emptiness and powerlessness through my friends is the highest item($3.56{\pm}1.06$). 'Meaninglessness in daily living' factor's score is $3.16{\pm}0.76$ and another factor, 'concept of my life thus far' score is $2.89{\pm}0.74$. Then the former is higher than the latter. 2) In the quality of life, 'eat well now' is the highest item($3.60{\pm}0.93$). 'self-esteem' is the highest factor($3.37{\pm}0.62$) and 'emotional state' is the lowest factor($2.89{\pm}0.31$). 3) According to the correlation between factors of crisis and quality of life, there was a significant negative correlation between two factors of crisis and five factors of quality of life except emotional state. 4) According to linear regression, two factors of the sense of crisis showed the explanatory power of the quality of life with 31.6%. On the basis of above findings, the following is suggested; Crisis is not precipitated by special events and new accidents, but the normal emotional change phenomena process in the human life cycle. As a result, we should develop the nursing programs and education programs about crisis intervention for middle-aged women's health.
This study analyze concentration of minor and trace elements on 47 white porcelains excavated from Dudong-ri, Baekryeon-ri, Sachon-ri kilns in Gyeonsangnam-do by NAA(neutron activation analysis) and try to classify the provenance and characteristics according to the analytical result. Each kilns are divided into the group by PCA(principal component analysis) and LDA(linear discrimination analysis) using 17 elements; Ba Ce, Co, Cr, Cs, Dy, Eu, Hf, La Lu, Rb, Sc, Sm, Ta, Th, V, Yb. The contribution elements are Dy, Sm, La, Ce, Lu, Sc. And soft and hard white porcelains are similar with the chemical composition of the use materials therefore the difference of the chemical composition not confirmed a cause. The analytical results of the fine(I) and poor(II) quality white porcelains presume the difference of the povenance of clay materials or the poduction process such as difference purify and additive materials.
Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate how irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) affects fatigue scales and eating habits in children and adolescents using Rome IV criteria. Methods Questionnaires and The $PedsQL^{TM}$ Multidimensional Fatigue Scale (MFS) have been given to 211 children and adolescents aged 8 to 18 years old who were admitted to ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ university Korean medicine hospital pediatric departments, from 29th, July, 2016 to 12th, August, 2016 to evaluate their eating habits and fatigue. Additionally, PASW statistics 18.0 were used to analyze influence of irritable bowel syndrome on eating habits and fatigue in children and adolescents by using chi-square test, independent t-test and linear regression. Results In total of 211 subjects, 29 (13.7%) were diagnosed with IBS according to the Rome IV criteria. 1. There was a statistically significant difference (p<0.05) between IBS group and non-IBS group on a specific question in the eating habit questionnaire: the amount of sugar intake and the prevalence of IBS. 2. There was a statistically significant difference in general fatigue and cognitive fatigue categories when comparing the MFS subscores according to the prevalence of IBS. Conclusions Considering patients eating habits and fatigue is a necessary process for the successful treatment of irritable bowel syndrome. Korean medicine that maximizes quality of life while minimizing the potential risks to the patients of gastrointestinal disease should also include administrative interventions that may be helpful in the daily life of IBS patients.
A look-up table based vector adaptive filter is proposed in color inverse halftoning. Inverse halftoning converts halftone image into a continuous-tone image. The templates and training images are required in the process of look-up table based methods, which can be obtained from distributed patterns in the sample halftone images and their original images. Although the look-up table based methods usually are faster and show better performances in PSNR than other methods do, they show wide range of qualities depending on how they treat nonexisting patterns in the look-up table. In this paper, a vector adaptive filter is proposed to compensate for these nonexisting patterns, which achieves better quality owing to the contributed informations about hue, saturation, and intensity of surrounding pixels. The experimental results showed that the proposed method resulted in higher PSNR than that of conventional Best Linear Estimation method. The bigger the size of the template in the look-up table becomes, the more outstanding quality in the proposed method can be obtained.
This paper proposes a method to insert virtual objects into a real video stream based on feature tracking and camera pose estimation from a set of single-camera video frames. To insert or modify 3D shapes to target video frames, the transformation from the 3D objects to the projection of the objects onto the video frames should be revealed. It is shown that, without a camera calibration process, the 3D reconstruction is possible using multiple images from a single camera under the fixed internal camera parameters. The proposed approach is based on the simplification of the camera matrix of intrinsic parameters and the use of projective geometry. The method is particularly useful for augmented reality applications to insert or modify models to a real video stream. The proposed method is based on a linear parameter estimation approach for the auto-calibration step and it enhances the stability and reduces the execution time. Several experimental results are presented on real-world video streams, demonstrating the usefulness of our method for the augmented reality applications.

In the process of designing pareto optimal insurance contract, it is necessary to assume that insurance contract conditions are endogenous to build a model. The expected utility, the non-expected utility and the state-dependent utility function can be applied as a insurance decision making principle. The insurance costs may have the linear, convex, and concave ralationship with the indemnity schedule. However, the sunk cost and fixed cost must be recognized. The deductible which decides whether an insurance contract to be a full or partial insurance contract can exist in the forms of straight deductible or diminishing deductible. Indeciding the level of deductible, the types of the insurance and the risks to be insured should be the deciding factors. Especially for recall insurance, there is relatively high chance that the recalling company being bankrupt. Therefore, the possibility of bankrupcy should be the considering factor in deciding the policy limit. The existence of the incomplete market and uninsurable background risk should be understood as restricting conditions of the pareto-optimal insurance contract.

In this paper, a gain-boosting charge pump(CP) and a latch type voltage controlled oscillato.(VCO) with voltage controlled resistor(VCR) were proposed. The gain-boosting CP achieves good .current matching of less than 11$mu$V voltage difference between 43$mu$V and 32$mu$V in its output range from 0.8V to 2.3V. The VCO with VCR shows good linear characteristics over the range from 1V to 3V. The fabricated VCO exhibits -108dBc/Hz phase noise at a 100kHz and is comparable to that of the integrated LC-tank oscillator. The phase locked loop(PLL) with new circuits was simulated in a 0.35$mu$m CMOS process and showed 150$mu$s locking time.
In this paper, an efficient scheme for correcting rotated objects in medical images using the Mojette transform is presented. The Mojette transform is a kind of discrete Radon transform, where the transform domain is represented by a set of projections. The Mojette transform currently studied in the image compression area is modified for detecting the rotation angle of objects in medical images. First, in order to find accurate rotation angle, the projection value in the Mojette transform is determined by using pixels on the projection line and in addition the linear interpolation of pixels adjacent to the line. Second, at each projection angle, only one projection is implemented for reducing the amount of the calculation in the process of the Mojette transform. Finally, the projection in the Mojette transform is carried out at the predetermined ROI(Region Of Interest) at which the objects are not cropped or added by rotating the image. The simulation results show that the proposed method has good performance for correcting the rotation angle in medical images.
In this paper, we proposed the single-channel adaptive noise canceller for the enhancement of heart sound (HS) in the auscultation signal. In case of either normal or emergency, a HS diagnosis is difficult due to the various signal source in the chest. Therefore, the HS enhancement is necessary. The conventional active noise canceller(ANC) has two channel, main signal and reference signal. For signal channel, the reference signal in ANC was generated by the proposed HS analyser and BS-Gate based on the characteristic of HS. This reference signal is suitable to the ANC condition. Experimental data were acquisited from MP36, SS30L in BIOPAC Inc., By the experiment, we confirmed that the proposed single-channel ANC was efficient for HS enhancement. And by the comparison with active linear enhancement, it was validate that the proposed ANC is not affected by the variation of a heartbeat.
