A method for deciding weighting matrices in a linear discrete time optimal regulator problems to locate all poles in the specified region

  • In this paper, a new procedure for selecting weighting matrices in linear discrete time quadratic optimal control problems (LQ-problem) is proposed. In LQ problems, the quadratic weighting matrices are usually decided on trial and error in order to get a good response. But using the proposed method, the quadratic weights are decided in such a way that all poles of the closed loop system are located in a desired area for good responses as well as for stability and values of the quadratic cost functional are kept less then a specified value. The closed loop systems constructed by this method have merits of LQ problems as well as those of pole assignment problems. Taking into consideration that little is known about the relationship among the quadratic weights, the poles and the values of cost functional, this procedure is also interesting from the theoretical point of view.

  • In this paper, a hypothesis in order that the impulse response of a stable linear system does not change sign is suggested. For fixed zeros of the systems, the problem of synthesizing such a system is reduced to the problem of finding a proper denominator polynomial so that the step response of the overall system will not overshoot. The hypothesis is associated with the generalized time constant by Kim[5]. Under the hypothesis, we propose several methods that allow to compose a continuous time LTI systems achieving non-negative impulse response.

수직통합 의사결정을 위한 계량분석모형 (A mathematical planning model for vertical integration)

  • This paper presents a mathematical model for a class of vertical integration decisions. The problem structure of interest consists of raw material vendors, components suppliers, components processing plants, final product (assembly) plants and external components buyers. Economic feasibility of operating components plants instead of keeping outside suppliers is our major concern. The model also determines assignment of product lines and production volumes to each open plant considering the cost impacts of economies of scale and plant complexity. The problem formulation leads to a concave, mixed integer mathematical program. Given the state of the art of nonlinear programming techniques, it is often not possible to find global optima for reasonably sized such problems. We developed an optimization solution algorithm within the framework of Benders decomposition for the case of a piecewise linear concave cost function. It is shown that our algorithm generates optimal solutions efficiently.

  • Companies are responding appropriately to the rapidly changing business environment and striving to lead those changes. As part of that, we are meeting our strategic goals through IT projects, which increase the number of simultaneous projects and the importance of project portfolio management for successful project execution. It also strives for efficient deployment of human resources that have the greatest impact on project portfolio management. In the early stages of project portfolio management, it is very important to establish a reasonable manpower plan and allocate performance personnel. This problem is a problem that can not be solved by linear programming because it is calculated through the standard deviation of the input ratio of professional manpower considering the uniformity of load allocated to the input development manpower and the importance of each project. In this study, genetic algorithm, one of the heuristic methods, was applied to solve this problem. As the objective function, we used the proper input ratio of projects, the input rate of specialist manpower for important projects, and the equal load of workload by manpower. Constraints were not able to input duplicate manpower, Was used as a condition. We also developed a program for efficient application of genetic algorithms and confirmed the execution results. In addition, the parameters of the genetic algorithm were variously changed and repeated test results were selected through the independent sample t test to select optimal parameters, and the improvement effect of about 31.2% was confirmed.

  • 경로 설정 및 파장 할당(Routing and Wavelength Assignment) 문제는 파장 할당 전송 기법(Wavelength Division Multiplexing)을 기반으로 하는 광 네트워크에서 중요한 분야이다. 경로 설정 및 파장 할당 문제는 선형 프로그램(Linear Programming)과 그래프 컬러링(Graph Coloring)의 조합으로 해결되거나, 경로 선택에 기반 한 그래프 알고리즘에 의해서 해결된다. 이와 같은 방법은 복잡하며 휴리스틱 알고리즘(heuristic algorithm)이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 각각의 연결 요구에 대한 최대한의 EDPs(Edge Disjoint Paths)를 구함으로써 경로 설정 및 파장 할당 문제를 효율적으로 해결하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 이렇게 구한 EDPs는 참조 테이블에 저장되고 가중치 매트릭스의 갱신에 사용된다. 각 연결 요구에 대한 경로는 순서대로 가중치 매트릭스를 참조하여 결정한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 알고리즘이 현재 실질적으로 효율적이라 알려진 BGA for EDP(Bounded Greedy Approach for EDP)보다 약 50%의 수행 시간 내에 같거나 작은 파장 수를 사용하여 연결 요구를 만족시켜주고 있음을 시뮬레이션을 통해서 확인할 수 있다.

중개수송 문제 최적 알고리즘 (Optimal Algorithm for Transshipment Problem)

  • 본 논문은 중개수송 문제의 최적 해를 찾는 가장 단순한 방법을 제안하였다. 중개 수송문제는 직접 선형계획법이나 TSM을 적용하거나 일반적인 수송문제로 변환시켜 TSM을 적용하여 최적해를 구한다. 그러나 TSM을 적용하여 최적해를 구하기 위해서는 초기해를 구하고 해 개선 과정을 거치는 방법이 어렵다. 초기해를 구하기 위해서는 NCM, LCM이나 VAM을 적용하며, 해 개선을 위해서는 MODI나 SSM을 적용한다. 본 논문은 중개수송 문제를 수송문제로 변환시키는 방법을 적용하였다. 수송문제에 대해서는 단순히 열의 최소 비용을 선택하고, 선택된 비용들에 대해 행의 비용 오름차순으로 수송량을 배정하는 방법을 적용하여 초기해를 빠르게 배정할 수 있었다. 해 개선은 보다 큰 비용에 수송량이 배정된 경우 보다 작은 비용으로 변경할 수 있는 조건을 만족하면 배정량을 조정하는 방법을 적용하였다. 제안된 방법을 11개의 다양한 중개수송 문제에 적용한 결과 10개 문제는 초기 배정만으로 최적해를 구할 수 있었으며, 단지 2개 문제만이 해 개선과정을 1개의 비용만 변경하여 최적해를 구할 수 있었다. 따라서 제안된 방법은 중개수송 문제에 대해 가장 간단한 최적해 방법으로 적용할 수 있을 것이다.

Design of an effective controlle via disturbance accommodating left eigenstructure assignment

  • The transient responses of a linear system having undesired disturbances are dominantly governed by the system's left eigenstructure(eigenvalues/left eigenvectors). In control system design problem of altering the transient response of the system, both the controllability and the disturbance suppressibility, should be considered simultaneously to obtain a robust, effective controller. The controllability of the system may be degraded if the left eigenstructure is chosen to suppress the disturbance, or vice versa. In this paper, first, proposed are a modal disturbance suppressibility measure and an improved version of the modal controllability measure suggested by Hamdan and Nayfeh. Second, a simple and general left eigenstructure assignment scheme, considering both the proposed modal disturbance suppressibility measure and the improved version of modal controllability measure, is suggested. When the previous works are applied to assign the left eigenvectors may differ from the desired ones. But the proposed left eigenstructure assignment scheme makes it possible to achieve the desired colsed-loop eigenvalues exactly, provided the desired left eigenvectors reside in the achievable subspace. In case the desired left eigenvectors do not reside in the achievable subspace, the closed-loop eigenvalues are achieved exactly and the left eigenvectors are assigned to the best possible set of eigenvectors in the least square sense. Finally, a numerical example is included to confirm and demonstrate the usefulness of our propositions and to illustrate the proposed design scheme.

  • 동적통행배정모형을 이용해서 교통정보를 ㅈ공하기 위해서는 다양한 여행자의 경로선택행태를 고려하는 것이 필요하다. 여행자계층은 일반적으로 3가지 형태로 분류된다: 1) 버스나 지하철과 같은 대중교통의 고정된 경로(fixed route class)를 이용하는 그룹, 2) 자신이 인지하는 경로비용을(perceived route, unguided class) 판단하여 경로를 선택하는 그룹, 3) 정확한 경로선택에 대한 정보를(guided class)기반으로 경로를 선택하는 그룹. 본 연구에서는 이 3그룹의 여행자를 포함하는 동적통행배정모형의 해법을 제안한다. 제안된 해법에서는 링크의 교통량과 유출교통류를 진입교통류 단일변수로 축소하여 시간과 공간을 확장하기 않고 실재의 네트워크에서 최단경로를 도출하는 방법을 적용한다. 따라서 시간종속적인 통행비용함수에 진입교통유율, 교통량, 유출교통유율 3가지 변수를 고려해야 하는 시공간확장방법에 비해 네트워크의 규모와 수행시간에 있어 유리하다.

  • The topic of this study is the field of humanitarian logistics for disaster response. Many existing studies have revealed that compliance with the golden time in response to a disaster determines the success or failure of relief activities, and logistics costs account for 80% of the disaster response cost. Besides, the agility, responsiveness, and effectiveness of the humanitarian logistics system are emphasized in consideration of the disaster situation's characteristics, such as the urgency of life-saving and rapid environmental changes. In other words, they emphasize the importance of logistics activities in disaster response, which includes the effective and efficient distribution of relief supplies. This study proposes a mathematical model for establishing a transport plan to distribute relief supplies in a disaster situation. To determine vehicles' route and the amount of relief for cities suffering a disaster, it mainly considers the urgency, effectiveness (restoration rate), and uncertainty in the logistics system. The model is initially developed as a mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) model containing some nonlinear functions and transform into a Mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model using a logarithmic transformation and piecewise linear approximation method. Furthermore, a minimax problem is suggested to search for breakpoints and slopes to define a piecewise linear function that minimizes the linear approximation error. A numerical experiment is performed to verify the MILP model, and linear approximation error is also analyzed in the experiment.

  • A new approach of a time-varying switching hyperplane based on the theory of variable structure system (VSS) is proposed for the control of multivariable systems. While the conventional switching surface can net achieve the robust performance against parameter variations and disturbances before the sliding mode occurs, the proposed switching hyperplane, which is obtained from the eigen-structure assignment theory powerfully used in the linear multivariable systems, ensures the sliding mode from the initial state. And new continuous control input which guarantees the sliding mode is proposed. This new control input does not arise chattering problem which arises with the conventional control input of variable structure control systems. Through numerical examples, the expellant performances of the proposed controller are verified.
