  • To classify the bodytype at sight of front line of the body, 20 to 59 year-old 484 females were examined. 73 photographic and 16 anthropometric measurements were taken to each subject. The indices were used to obtain the shape factor of the bodytype. The principal component analysis was performed to obtain the shape factor of the front line of body and 6 factors were abstracted. The factor score was better than the measurements as the independent variable in applying the cluster analysis to classify the shape. As the result of the cluster analysis, the shape of the body at sight of the front line was classified in 4 types. It was named X, Y, A, H type. Considering the sizes, Y type was obese and H type was lean characteristically.

  • Tracking and detecting targets by the millimeter wave seeker is affected by movement of platform. Stabilization equipments use an inertial sensor to compensate for disturbance of stabilizing gimbal or platform. In the direct line of sight stabilization system, an inertial sensor is mounted on inner gimbal to compensate the disturbance directly, so the performance is excellent and the implementation method is simple. However gimbal design requires somewhat larger volume. Since an inertial sensor is mounted on gimbal base in the indirect line of sight stabilization system, additional space of gimbal is not required for the gimbal design. However, this method does not directly compensate for the disturbance of the line of sight stabilization axis, which can degrade performance. In order to perform the tracking performance, two methods are analyzed for line of sight stabilization performance based on direct and indirect of a 2-axis gimbaled servo system for millimeter wave seeker in this study. The simulation and experimental results validate the performance comparison of two methods.

  • For the combat survivability, an infrared signature emitted from aircraft is needed to be predicted and analyzed. In this study, we studied the infrared signature from the exhaust plume from the viewpoint of Infrared(IR) detector. The Line-By-Line method using the radiation database is used for radiative property, and radiative intensity analysis is conducted along 1-D line of sight based on the radiative property. The numerical thermo-fluid field for the plume is conducted by ANSYS FLUENT, while setting the lines of sight having the different detection angle on the thermo-fluid field. We found the high IR signature on the line of sight passing through the locally high temperature region of the plume inside, and the strongest signature from the line of sight toward the nozzle surface. Based on this, it confirms the influence of the surface radiative emission on the infrared signature.

  • The performance analysis of wireless geolocation in a non-line-of-sight (NLOS) environment is a very important issue. Since Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) determines the physical impossibility of the variance of an unbiased estimator being less than the bound, many studies presented the performance analysis in terms of CRLB. Several CRLBs for time-of-arrival (TOA), pseudo-range TOA, angle-of-arrival (AOA), and signal strength (SS) based positioning methods have been derived for NLOS environment. However, the performance analysis of time difference of arrival (TDOA) and TDOA/SS based geolocation techniques in a NLOS environment is still an opening issue. This paper derives the CRLBs of TDOA and TDOA/SS based positioning methods for NLOS environment. In addition, theoretical analysis proves that the derived CRLB for TDOA is the same as that of pseudo-range TOA and the TDOA/SS scheme has a lower CRLB than the TDOA (or SS) scheme.

  • In the microcell mobile communication, we propose algorithms processing operational disposition to exactly analysis propagation environments from the base station to mobile stations. Algorithms are developed by the triangle analysis method can operate variable propagation paths and reflect numbers. For simulation, we suppose that mobile stations are located in the shadow region of the line of sight and the area of the non-line of sight sloping against the line of sight area at variable angles. By analyzing the results of simulation using proposed algorithms, we can be applied to the optimal position selection of the base station in the microcell mobile communication.

  • Observability of two spacecraft system is considered with relative line-of-sight vector measurements between two spacecraft system for autonomous navigation using the linear observability analysis. First, the dynamical equations and measurement models are introduced, and the basic assumption of attitude knowledge for one of two spacecrafts is explained. Then, we introduce a pair of nominal orbits of two spacecraft system, and the observability analysis for the nominal orbits is presented with the available measurements (for the numerical observability analysis). • In this paper, channel modeling and analysis of wireless visible light communication(VLC) were studied in indoor circumstance. Photons emitted from LED straightly moved and navigated within indoor, after that a part of photons reached on PD via LOS(Line Of Sight) or NLOS(None Line Of Sight). These received signals had characteristics of delay profile and attenuation, which was multiple-path fading. In this paper, computer simulation of VLC channel was executed under the condition that two LEDs were used for transmitter and three PDs were located at different positions of the 20*8*2.3m sized indoor. BER performance simulation was excuted based on the characteristics of each VLC channel.

  • In this paper, we propose a guidance filter to estimate line of sight rate with strapdown seeker measurements and INS(Inertial Navigation System) information. The measurements of proposed guidance filter consisted of the LOS(Line of Sight) and relative position that can be calculated with the seeker's measurements, INS information and known target position, also the filter is based on an asynchronous filter to use outputs of the two sensors that are out of synchronous and period. Through the proposed filter, we can reduce the effect on parasitic loop that can be caused by using large time delay seeker and improve the estimation performance.

  • A spherical Earth surface is used fur realistic analysis of the geometrical performance characteristics about the variation of satellite altitude and 2-dimensional line-of-sight(LOS) tilt angle in a satellite imager using Time Delay and Integration(TDI) technique with fixed integration time. In the spherical Earth surface model TDI synchronization using LOS tilt is investigated as a solution to compensate geometric performance degradation due to altitude decrease. This result can be used fur a TDI CCD imager with variable integration time in a certain as well.

  • As a former level of MSC(Multi Spectral Camera) telescope of the KOMPSA T2satellite, the several performance tests of EOS(Electro Optical Subsystem) were performed in the EOS level. By these tests, not only the design requirement of payload can be verified but also the test result can be the important criterion to estimate the performance of payload in the launch and space orbit environment. The EOS Geometric Mapping test is to verify the accuracy of the alignment & assembly on the Subsystem of the MSC by measurement like these; LOS(Line of Sight), LOD(Line of Detector), Band to Band Registration, Optical Distortion and Reference Cube. This paper describes the test results and the analysis for the EOS Geometric Mapping.
