실선체 곡면 제작을 위한 선형 배열 롤 셋 공정의 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of Line Array Roll Set Process for the Manufacture of Real Ship Hull Plates)

  • The line array roll set(LARS) process, as one of many kinds of incremental forming processes, is a continuous process in which a flat metal plate is formed into a singly or doubly curved plate through successive passes of forming rolls. It was found that the curvature level of the formed plates in the previous study was well over the curvature required in shipyards. This fact shows that the LARS method has good potential for shipbuilding applications. The major purpose of the present study is to estimate experimentally the general applicability of the line array roll set process for the manufacture of ship hull plates. In this study, the target shapes are selected through investigation of the shape classification of ship hull plates that comprise a certain vessel. Forming processes for twisted shapes are analyzed with the finite element method(FEM) and the results of experimental work are presented. On the basis of the experimental and numerical results, the LARS process is applied to the production of real outer hull plates of a small patrol ship.

시간 측정범위 향상을 위한 펄스 트레인 입력 방식의 field-programmable gate array 기반 시간-디지털 변환기 (Field-Programmable Gate Array-based Time-to-Digital Converter using Pulse-train Input Method for Large Dynamic Range)

  • Field-programmable gate array (FPGA) 기반 시간-디지털 변환기 (time-to-digital converter: TDC)는 구조가 단순하고, 빠른 변환속도를 갖는 딜레이 라인 (delay-line) 방식을 주로 사용한다. 하지만 딜레이 라인 방식 TDC의 시간 측정범위를 늘리기 위해서는 딜레이 라인의 길이가 길어지므로 사용되는 소자가 많아지고, 비선형성으로 인한 오차가 증가하는 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 동일한 길이의 딜레이 라인에 펄스 트레인 (pulse-train)을 입력하여 시간 측정범위를 향상시키고, 리소스를 효율적으로 사용하는 방식을 제안한다. 펄스 트레인 입력 방식의 TDC는 긴 시간을 측정하기 위하여 시작신호의 입력과 동시에 4-천이 (transition) 펄스 트레인이 딜레이 라인에 입력된다. 그리고 동기회로 (synchronizer) 대신 천이 상태 검출부를 설계하여 중지신호 입력 시 사용된 천이를 판별하고, 준안정 상태 (meta-stable state)를 피하면서 딜레이 라인의 길이를 줄이는 구조를 갖는다. 제안한 TDC는 72개의 딜레이 셀 (delay cell)을 사용하였고, 파인부 (fine interpolator)의 성능 측정 결과, 시간 측정범위는 5070 ps, 평균 분해능은 20.53 ps, 최대 비선형성은 1.46 LSB였으며, 시간 측정범위는 계단 (step) 파형을 입력신호로 사용하는 기존 방식 대비 약 343 % 향상되었다.

  • Thin-film transistor (TFT) arrays for an x-ray detector require quite different design concept from that of the conventional active-matrix liquid crystal devices (AM-LCDs). In this paper anew design of TFT array which uses only SiNx for passivation layer is described to meet the detector performance and the product availability simultaneously. For the purpose of optimizing the design parameters of the TFT array, a Spice simulation was performed. As a result, some parameters, such as the TFT width, the data line capacitance, and the storage capacitance, were able to be fixed. The other parameters were decided within a permissible range of the TFT process especially the photolithography process and the wet etch process. Then we adapted the TFT array which had been produced by the proposed design to our prototype model (FDXD-1417 and evaluated it clinically by comparing with a commercial model (EPEX, Hologic, Beford, USA). The results say that our prototype model is slightly better than EPEX system in chest PA images. So we can prove the technical usefulness and the commercial values of the proposed TFT design.

8 채널 삽입형 3T Body pTx Array 코일 설계 (Design of 8 Channel Insertional pTx Array Coil for 3T Body Imaging)

  • In this research, we report all the elements are placed in the space above the patient table as a transmit coil to give optimized B1+ field for the body object. Through the simulations, we compared upper-and-lower parts combined 8 channel Tx array to upper only 8 channel Tx array and showed the utilities of B1+ shimming in multi-channel Tx body imaging at 3T. Half-cylinder shaped upper array shows weak B1+ field area around back of patient without B1+ shimming. After B1+ shimming, highly induced SAR places occurred in the arm region due to the close distance to the both end elements which were driven by very high RF current to enhance B1+ in back area. The proposed upper and lower combined array provides an enhanced homogeneous B1+ field in large ROI imaging as a result of shimming over the body size phantom. Through this research we proved the usefulness of the proposed insertional upper and lower parts combined transmit array for 3T body imaging.

대용량 PV 어레이의 최적설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Design of Large-scale Photovoltaic Array)

  • Recently, a number of large-scale photovoltaic(PV) power generation system has been installed all over the world. Thus, in order to improve the system efficiency, the optimal design of the large-scale PV systems has become an important issue. DC cable loss of PV array is one of the design factors related to the system efficiency. This paper introduces the array design method of a 500kW Photovoltaic power plant. Three types of the PV array are suggested. Also, string cables, sub-array cables and array cables are designed within 1% of voltage drop in the line, and the DC cable losses are analyzed. The results of this paper show that the DC cable loss of large-scale PV array can be reduced by adopting a proper sub-array design method.

Design and Fabrication of Reflective Array Type Wideband SAW Dispersive Delay Line

  • A reflective array type surface acoustic wave(SAW) dispersive delay line(DDL) with high time-bandwidth at the V/UHF-band is designed and fabricated for compressive receiver applications. This type of the SAW DDL has the properties of the relative bandwidth of 20 %, the time delay of 49.89 usec, the insertion loss of 38.5 dB and the side lobe rejection of 39 dB. In comparison with a commercial SAW DDL, the insertion loss, amplitude ripple and side lobe rejection are improved by $1.5dB{\pm}0.6dB$ and 4 dB respectively. Using the fabricated SAW DDL, the prototype of the compressive receiver is developed. It is composed of RF converter, fast tunable LO, chirp LO, A/D converter, signal processing unit and control unit. This prototype system shows a fine frequency resolution of below 30 kHz with high scan rate.

  • In the synthesis of the continuously distributed line source antennas with arbitrary patterns, the formulas of Taylor sum pattern and Bayliss difference pattern have been mainly used. In this paper, an optimization scheme is newly presented to directly synthesize the desired difference patterns from Taylor line source formula, and then the distributions are numerically adapted to the specified difference patterns by using an appropriate iterative sampling method.

  • Optical fiber is indispensable for optical communication systems that transmit large volumes of data at high speed, but super precision technology in sub-micron units is required for optical axis adjustment. We developed the automatic optical fiber by image processing and automatic loading system. we have developed 6-axis micro stage system for I/O optical fiber arrays, the initial automatic aligning system software for a input optical array by the image processing technique, fast I/O-synchronous aligning strategy, the automatic loading/unloading system and the automatic UV bonding mechanism. In order to adjust the alignment it used on PC based motion controller, a $10{\mu}m$ repeat-detailed drawing of automatic loading system is developed by a primary line up for high detailed drawing. Also, at this researches used the image processing system and algorithm instead of the existing a primary hand-line up and fiber input array and waveguide chip formed in line by automatic.

RADANT 렌즈의 이론적 설계에 관한 연구 (A Theoretical Design of RADANT Lens)

  • 본 논문에서는 위상배열시스템에 적용 가능한 RADANT 위상 스캐닝 개념과 전송선 타입의 부하선로(Loaded Line) 위상변위기 개념에 대하여 고찰하고, 이 두가지 개념을 결합시켜 전자적으로 빔 조향이 가능한 새로운 형태의 RADANT 렌즈를 설계하기 위한 이론적 방법을 제시한다. 제시된 이론적 방법은 간단한 회로 시뮬레이션 결과를 통하여 RADANT 렌즈의 구현 가능성이 확인되었다.

  • Electrohydrodynamic jet printing (EHDP) technique is widely used for the direct writing. However, in the existing EHDP method, the printing characteristics are affected by the printing substrate used, and the line width of the printed is determined by the geometry of the nozzle. We propose an EHDP method which is capable of (1) removing the effect from the substrate, and (2) controlling the line width through the ON/OFF control of the each nozzle in the nozzle array. Printing characteristics of our EHDP system were examined and successful ON/OFF control of the nozzle array were demonstrated. By using the proposed EHDP, it is expected that stable meniscus regardless of the substrate and different line widths even using the same nozzle can be achieved.
